Stream of Sept 07 2017. A barrel. Yup, it's a barrel. With a mouse cursor floating over it. No worries, you won't get charged extra. Different color. Yellow. Different color. Green. Really dark green I'd say. Sorry about the bad clip, it wasn't correctable. Side note: we've been shown a lot more color variations of this barrel, but I was unable to keep up with the pace of screenshots to capture them all. Side by side'ish. Concept art (paint over) of the Town Square. Day shot of the Town square concept art (paint over). Night shot of the Town square concept art (paint over). Side note: They use these concept art images to see what's needed to make things more lifelike, e.g. graffiti and such.

I write (my last novel is here; thus, I'm always in the process of creating potential characters and backstories. The following is copied from another thread. === My character will be a friendly, drama-free individual, who's perhaps a trifle eccentric. She'll be stridently independent, well educated in literature and history (though her education is something she keeps to herself), and ultimately self sufficient, secretive and stubborn. That said, she'll be open to relationships (platonic, or otherwise) with similarly minded people. She'll have a good sense of humor, but in general she won't brook nonsense, grifters, con artists, scammers, or n'er do wells. She'll also be something of a health fanatic -- good food, exercise, and hard work. She'll drink in moderation, and won't do drugs. She'll dress neatly, but not fashionably. She will be utterly at home in the woods and will eschew large social gatherings at all cost. Her notion of the perfect date will be a moonlight picnic, soft jazz on a radio, and a crackling campfire. Professionally, she'll seek somewhat uncommon sources of revenue; maybe, she will purchase a pig and become a full-time truffle hunter. Whatever her career/profession, it will be one where her workaholic nature will be rewarded. Her ultimate goal will be owning a modest country home, where she can garden and tend her cow, chickens, and maybe a goat or two. Neither love nor outrageous fortune will put her off this goal. Her deepest secret and constant source of torment is that in her previous life she was a targeting officer in the military and was responsible for having called an airstrike on a large group of innocent civilians. The thought of this never entirely leaves her mind. === As game launch is likely not imminent, I'll reserve job applications for later. My character will certainly not be a hermitess, but her underlying sense of guilt and shame will most certainly be a driving force in how she initially integrates with the community.

There's never been a more exicting time for the Identity development team than right now. We're growing from a small team of passionate and skilled developers into a true studio with real development horsepower. Asylum Entertainment's New Home Identity is being produced by a very small team, although with our new office (see above) we're on a hiring craze and expanding in a big way. In fact, our programming team is going to be three times larger by the end of September. That's only the tip, too, as we're also bringing in a full-time dedicated community manager so that you get the regular updates from the team which you deserve. Our art team is also expanding with some of the most incredible talent in the industry. It pains us that Identity has seen delays; we truly want the game in your hands as soon as possible. With our modest team it's been a difficult road but, with the great help of yourself and other backers, it's full-steam ahead. Once we're situated in our new office (we get the keys in one week) and your new community manager is ready to go, it's our intention keep this great community in constant contact with the team! New in the Town Square If you've been watching closely on the IdentityRPG Twitch Channel, which is live for a Q&A with the developers every Tueday through Thursday, you've seen a lot of art these last few weeks. From concept art to screenshots and clothing, below are just a few of the pieces we've shown, plus something new for good measure. We're really pushing the development streams now, too. You'll be able to watch environment artist Antoine at work Wednesday, August 30 at 1PM EST. Moving forward, we're going to try to give you at least one development stream every single week. Watch Twitter for announcements. Town Square Clothing Store Remember the clothing store concept art we showed last month? This in-game screenshot shows how concept translates to reality (minus the actual clothing). Another new addition, ambiant radio, brings this scene to life. When you walk into this clothing store you'll notice music playing from the speakers. It's not just music in our game, either, it's real streaming radio playing songs you know. Different stores can now play ambiant music that matches their style and enhances immersive atmosphere. Ash Hill Police HQ Concept The Ash Hill police station will open it's doors in the Town Square module shortly after its release. Seen above is the concept for the lobby, locker room (where players "sign in" as an officer) and the shooting range. The shooting range will be available in the Town Square to give you a feel for weapons in Identity before you get your hands on the SWAT module. Ash Hill Barber Concept While a large variety of player customizations will be available during your initial character creation, some options are reserved for locations in the world. Barber shops, like the Ash Hill Barber you'll find in the Town Square shown above, will have additional hair options; other shops around the land will present different styles. Some rarer character customization options may be unlocked through gameplay achievements. A peak at pledge rewards Below are concept pieces of the pledge rewards you may already own. Our new website, almost ready to go, will bring new options while some of the existing will no longer be available. Pledge Reward Concepts -- John VanderZwet

Ok that genuinely made me laugh. Nah it's ok. Spreading upgrades over time is smart. And buying smart at the time helps a lot too. Take my 3rd generation i7 for example. It's old. Real old. But if you look it up on shops online, you'll find it's quite expensive still. The price rivals a new 7th generation i7. Why? Because it's a damn good processor, even for it's age. It will still last me quite a few years. Smart shopping enables me to save quite a lot of money in the long run, and those savings I can put into other expensive hobbies. Win-win.

Basically I personal what to play a character based on Okabe from the visual novel, and anime, steins;gate. It would be a very interesting role play chose to play a character that has had some what of a depressing back ground, that has turned to science as an outlet. Now I have no idea how scientist will come into play in the game. It would be a very interesting way to rp in-game. Could even form a small group of scientist who get to gather and swap ideas. Or just have that random guy who's your weird room mate. And way just going to drop this here to see what you all think.

Welcome. There will be plenty to do in Identity. I believe most people will have something catered to their liking. I'm not sure about the gardening though. I'm even unsure if vegetation grows. Crops will probably grow seeing farming is a possibility. But grass, hedges and the like, I'm really uncertain about. If no definitive answer presents itself before Tuesday, I'll take this question with me for the next developer's live stream.

Glad to help. It's always a pleasure meeting the newcomers and making them feel welcomed (or at least I try to anyway ). If you're not interested in owning a business, there are PLENTY (and trust me, I mean "plenty") of different businesses hiring here and more importantly; here P.S - Please TAG or QUOTE me in replies as I won't be notified of your response otherwise.

If you check out some of the links that I've provided you should be able to find some more information about the game and "what the game will have to offer". I know that many people are creating companies right now. For example, if you look in my Signature (globally below my posts/comments), you'll see that I'm running for Governor in-game with my party called The Hamilton Party. It also links to the party's website that I made. There's also the "Hamilton Homes" business I'll own when the game comes out. I'm not trying to advertise or promote to you right now (although, "2 birds, 1 stone" I suppose) but my point is that like me, many are making businesses and websites for their companies that they'll have in-game just so that they can be prepared for when the game releases (not for quite a while; no release date yet). People are also creating law firms and becoming lawyers so if you truly wished to go down that route; you could. If a person is sentenced to prison with a sentence over 15 real-time minutes, they can appeal to go to court which will notify all players nearby to come in for Jury Duty. This gives the offender a chance to speak in defence for themselves or have a lawyer help them in the case. The Jury will then vote. As for gardening, I believe I remember hearing it being discussed briefly but it won't be a priority in regards to releasing since there's so more important things needing done. Perhaps in the future. Right now they are just working on the Town Square module. P.S - Please TAG or QUOTE me in replies as I won't be notified of your response otherwise.

Thank you very much, Brian. As I'm still trying to learn what the game will have to offer, I don't quite know what I will do. With a decade's experience as a police officer, I'm tempted to follow that path, but I've also taken many graduate law classes; so, should the game offer a legal path, I'd consider that. On the other hand, I love camping, fishing, and shooting; thus, I might live out of a camper and be a professional hunter/fisherwoman. Just so many possibilities; I'm quite excited. What about gardening? Will there be an opportunity to be a professional gardener/farmer? Again, thank you for your welcome, Brian.

English Translation: Hello to all, I hope that among all this world are French players looking for a community. I present the project to you. We have created a Discord server to bring together a maximum of French speakers. We also have a Facebook page (soon YouTube and a website) which I will share at the end of the presentation. We aim to create an active community through various methods such as events, contests (winning a copy of the game (planned) if the Facebook page reaches a certain number of likes for example), we will broadcast all the news in French on facebook, discord and the big news in YouTube video. At the exit of the games and beta, gameplays, live will be provided as well as reviews. And the bonus is the selection every week of the best video of the French com (you send us your video in the way of a community channel and have the reupload on our chain after a selection). The community can help each other and play together in dedicated lounges on our discord. The website will be under construction shortly. We have the ambition to become the largest FR community. We are Identity QG France! Here are the links (discord and facebook at the moment): Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IdentityQG/ Discord: https://discord.gg/NfaeRrM Just in-case anyone was curious. Bonne chance à votre communauté, @Xtr3mZMiniboy!

((Holy shit am I late. Gotta get my brain in gear and figure out where I'm at. Eeeehhhh okay here.)) Amanda Shepard stares cold-eyed into her own bathroom mirror. Long black hair. . . It used to be brown. . . That doesn't even make sense. If my skin was bleached white, Why in hell is my hair now black? Don't get me started on my previously grey eyes now being bright fucking green. Bunch of bullshit. She sighs as the racing thoughts begin to result in a headache. Lifting a hand, she uses the back of a wrist to wipe a smear of blood from her cheek. Who's blood? Hard to say. Mother. . . Father. . . Brother. . . That jerk gardener who happened to walk in at the wrong time? She looks back down at the sink. One hand gripping the ledge as blood runs down into the drain. The other hand gripping a crumpled file. The adoption papers. She takes a deep breath and closes her eyes. Hissing, acid tears drip down her cheeks, burning holes in the paper folder. What to do. . . What to do now. . . Oh, what to do. . . She taps her floody fingers on the porcelain in thought. [Darkness] Striking a match, she glares at the tiny flame before boredly flicking it into a pool of gasoline in the front driveway of her high class manor home. A fire begins with a flare and rips its way toward the house, up the large porch steps and in through the open double doors. At first, silence. . . Then, from within the house is an explosion. Then a second. Then a third, which blows out windows and sends flames billowing into the air. She smirks slightly and sets the adoption papers down in the flaming pool that received the match. And in movie explosion fashion, she walks calmly away from the inferno raging behind her. Amanda Shepard burns to death in that house. . . . . . I've learned my real name. Learned the story of my real family. And destroyed the evidence.

Name: Mike L Smith Appearance: 6' 0", brown eyes, short black hair, Race/ethnicity/nationality: African-American From: Los Angeles, CA Personality: silent (unable to talk) Education: none Misc Facts: gang-banger Background: Was born and raised in Los Angeles and is unable to talk. His dad was a drug dealer and taught him how to grow weed to make money. When he was 16, one night at 1:00 AM. LAPD showed up while his father was doing drug dealing, while he was with his father. Another guy was armed and shot one of the officers. He and his father were running away as the guy tried to shoot the officers. The friend was shot and killed. His father tried to get into his sedan, but his father was shot. As the son watched his father dying. his father told him "son, go. I will see you when I get home." Police were chasing him until he crashed in the forest near his house. He ran off into the deep forest and police never found him. He went to his house. The day before his 17th birthday he was on the news. LAPD searched their wanted list and found Mike Smith. The mother discovered this from the news. She called her friend to take her son and his r34. Her friend came to their house. His Mother was crying in the living room. He wishes his mother would come with him, but his mother refused. Her friend took him and r34 and took him to the ship. He was on the ship for a total of 4 days, getting very little sleep. Once he was on land and he got into his r34. He stayed at the hotel. He texted his mother and asked her how she is doing. She texted back saying "I love you son. I'll try to get my flight tickets tomorrow". His mother never arrived. He tried to text her the day after she was to arrive, but there was no response. He watched the news after his last text to her. He received no response He turned to the news. The reporter told a story about his mother being shot and killed by an unknown criminal. He ran outside of his hotel room, crouched down and cried. He wished that his mother would have left with him at same time so this would not have happened.

In the past few days.. even weeks i see more of the "older" Community Members getting more and more salty in the way they talk to other Community Members. I dont think this should be tolerated. Everyone is a Human in this Forum and i realy think we can talk to each other without using any insults no matter in which way or for what reason. I personaly dont want to see this Community slowly but surely turning into a Saltmine. If you feel angry and you cant answer someones Idea or Question friendly, dont even type anything. Just keep everything to yourself and dont make someones day worse than it maybe already is. I dont want to name anyone and therefore i wont give any examples. If you feel addressed maybe check everything you posted in the last few days and maybe you have to apologize to someone. And now all look at this little Bunny and be happy

Kevin stands in the room taking it all in. After a few moments he turns to Marco "Look, there is a reason I turned legit. I used to jack cars, and was a driver for hire, but no more. I got sick of being paranoid that every car that took the same turn as me was a Fed. I gave up street racing because of that shit. And you know what, on the way over here I could have sworn I saw someone following me. So far today you have asked me to prove to you that I'm a good driver, but all you've shown me is that you are just some guy with money who can rob a gas station. That kind of shit just ain't worth jail time, I could have made more working in my shop for one hour than you probably pulled from that station, so if you ever think of a better reason than just a fucking paycheck, get in contact" Kevin pulls the handgun out from his waistband and tosses it on the table. As Kevin turns towards the door, he pulls out a smoke and lights it as he walks out into the night. As Kevin walks up to his car, he flicks the cigarette butt, opens the door, and gets in. Kevin floors the gas pedal, the v8 and tires screaming as he pulls out. As Kevin angrily drives away, a blacked out car pulls out several blocks back and starts to tail him.

I'm gonna be a disappointment to everyone and I will beg for money, live under a bridge and will end up in prison a lot. Mostly for small things such as throwing eggs and tomatoes at people walking by, stealing everything that doesn't require many brain cells and pissing on any law enforcement.

This month in development Another month and another dev blog to keep you updated! I want to start this one by giving a thank you to everyone who's receiving this blog post by email, our backers who are making Identity a reality. It's an exciting time as our team is growing and our pace quickening as a result. Identity's beginning to get more exposure and every pledge we receive helps us produce content faster. It's been slower than we'd like in the past because our team has been tiny, but this growth we're seeing as of late has been opening doors and propelling us forward. As of this month we've now raised over $700,000 USD; a large amount of money and what we've needed to bring on more talent. Talent we've lost to other studios and existing contracts in the past, some of our absolute best, is now returning to Asylum Entertainment to work on Identity full-time. We're really looking forward to the work from those being added to our roster, which will result in more clothing options as well as much prettier environments. We're also looking to pick up another programmer and a new community manager very shortly, to improve our PR situation and give you guys a more transparent view into development. Case variations for one of three phones in Identity With our art team growing with top industry talent, we're also making some good progress in content programming. Our elevator system has been finalized after being re-hashed. This elevator system is used in the Town Square, and throughout Identity where apartments exist, to bring players up to their lofted homes. The interesting part is these function like real elevators, and you'll see other players in them going to and from their floors. They act as loading zones, so instead breaking your immersion with a loading screen we load the apartment and it's customizations in the background while you ride the elevator. By the time the door opens everything's in place and you don't even notice that you've moved into a special instance of the world. Art of the Town Square When creating new environments, we first have our concept artist draw up a layout and artistic design. From there, environment artists create the 3D assets from that piece and a level designer places them in the world you inhabit. We're pleased to have our incredibly talented concept artist, Alexander, back in full-swing as we prepare the final pieces of environment necessary for the Town Square. Clothing store concept; hotel and art gallery in rear The clothing store is interesting in Town Square because it's operating on a system we've created for many computer-controlled shops in Identity. It has a fully functioning shoplifting mechanic. In most games you walk up to an NPC (non-player character) and interact to purchase items. You then simply walk away with your items. Stores in Identity are a different story, and are unique in the gaming world. You'll add items from racks and shelves to your cart. You can then walk into the dressing room to preview those items (assuming it's clothing) or walk up to the register to pay. What if you don't pay and simply walk out the door with your cart? Shoplifting is a reality in Identity, although it's often not recommended. If you're not skilled, and most people won't be, you'll set off alarms and have a hard time getting away. You'll likely spend time in jail for the attempt. Expensive items can also not be shoplifted for game balance purposes. Even something so simple as using a shop gives freedom and oppportunity not found in any game before. Last month we showed you a bicycle which will be ridable in Identity. Below you'll see the bicycle shop concepts for the Town Square. While you won't be able to ride them in Town Square, you'll be able to browse many options which will be available to you. Bicycle shop concept for the Ash Hill town square These final two interiors are being created by our artists as we speak, and are the last environments required for Town Square's release, along with some minor systems programming and polish. Art gallery/library concept art, previously shown Art gallery and library in-game, without player art The near future One of our top priorities right now is to give all of you who have been waiting a glimpse of real gameplay in a video. Identity's funding and progress has exploded since we showed you the workings of the housing and apartment systems on YouTube, and now we want you to see vehicles, drug production and weapon systems. I can't promise any dates on this video, but it'll be soon. In fact, I expect you to watch this video before you receive the next dev blog. This coming video is sort of a catalyst, and I can't wait to show you what's in store after it. The Town Square is also getting near the point where we're going to be able to start showing off videos of the gameplay elements you'll find within it, leading up to the public release of the module. These videos will be coming after the previously mentioned video. We do regret how little we've been able to show you thus far. We're a tiny team stretching a small budget to its limits, so things take some time. Now that much of the core exists and other supporting pieces are falling into place, I'm excited that we're now really making progress that can be witnessed. -- John VanderZwet
