As shown to us during the stream on the 24th of August of 2017. Barbershop concept art. There will be multiple version of interiors of barber shops across the island. But THIS will be the one we'll get to see in the Town Square module. Work In Progress! (default will be black, this one has issues still, brown zippers anyone?)

Hello Guys, I've searched around in the forum but the last info i find regarding a community manager was that they were looking to hire a full time community manager, is there any new info? I know that most of you that have been around the forum for a long time are giving advises and very useful info, however, as a person that wants to see this game raise, i think that the lack of contact with the community is making this game go down, now a days when you search for Identity RPG on google the most you find is like "Is this a scam?", "should i buy it?", "never realeased", etc.. this is causing a lot of people to re-consider and not support it at all. In my opinion, a full time community manager with direct contact with the developers/designers, etc... will be extremely useful to improve the progress of the development. I feel sad when i go to twitter and i see the last message from 2 months ago or when i go to the FAQ in the website and i see "Realease date: early 2017", hope i'm not the only one feeling like this... PS: please excuse my English, is not my main language.

Hi! I'm Seth! I'm sooo excited for Identity to be released! I just found out of this game a couple hours ago. And oh my word, I LOST MY MIND I felt as if I was dreaming, this is literally the game I always dreamed of! Literally, it has everything! Well, almost. What I really love about simulation games is getting married and having kids. So if that's added sooner or later, or if it already is, then yes, it's got everything! I've got some ideas for the game so please check out my threads in Ideas & Suggestions! I l love what you guys are doing! You're making my dream game!

Th moderators, including me relay information to you guys. We ask them questions and if we have an answer, then we give you it. Motown is busy, he has a life on top of 3 important jobs to play in the creation of the game. Also they give information on the streams.

I do not know what about the Russian server, but... What I know for sure - the presence of Russian-language localization in the game will not be before the release, that is, Town Square and other modules "fly by". In any case - we offer our assistance with the solution of the issue of localization. UPD: And, well, there will also be custom servers.

As I've said already, best to steer clear of controversial topics like this, as it only caters to half of the community and will make the other half uncomfortable or unhappy with the content. Why can't you just remain neutral? There's going to be lots of things you won't like throughout life, you can't make everyone cater to your needs. I'm religious, but I agree with keeping religion out of the game for obvious reasons. Politics on the other hand, politics in-game will be healthy for RP. We mean politics specifically in the sense that we don't want people to be encouraged to bring their actual political opinions into the game regarding things like BLM, Antifa, Trump VS Clinton type bs.

Hey there! Welcome to the Identity Community, it’s great to have you here. I’m Brian, nice to meet you I'd answer your question but @Kicapri has answered it pretty well. To get into the Town Square module when it's released, you'll need the "Founder" package or higher ($30 or higher). You can track its progress here Here’s some links to help you get started. Below, you can find some FAQs and other cool information which you might like: FAQ (by Motown) FAQ Extended (by JamesLuck01) Reddit Q&A Q&A Podcast w/ Devs (by TheDynasty) Q&a Podcast w/ Devs (by PowerGaming7) There’s lots to do in Identity, so whatever path you choose to follow, I hope that you enjoy it. You should also be sure to get into some of the political stuff from time to time and vote for your favourite candidate (once the game is released). Once again, welcome!

Hello! And welcome to the community! If you want to pre-order the game and get the modules when they come out and if you want to do that you have to get the $30 version. The time that you have to pre-order is unknown... it could be days, weeks or months it all depends on when the first module finishes. (This is all from my understanding i'm sorry if i'm wrong somewhere but someone will probably correct me if so)

Voice chat has been Confirmed . Mouth movement implementation has been Confirmed , however, we're not sure when it will actually be added. It has already been shown off in one of the Q&A with the Developers videos in which Motown (Community Manager) is speaking and his mouth moves.
  25. 1 point
I doubt the mouth physics would be implemented at first, seems like a good amount of work for a minimal payoff.

I am not to sure, maybe @LuckyDuck or @Paratus can answer that.

I was there during the stream. I personally do not care about release dates.(Good information for people who do.) They are fluid anyway. I still will check it out though. I liked some of the information I was able to get out of the stream. I was only going on about who will get access to the town square module or not. That is where my confusion was.
  28. 1 point
Yes, it would also be the preferred method to use in my opinion. The voicing will also be realistic in terms of how far you can hear and through walls.
  29. 1 point
Maybe if they add full controller support you can use the gaming wheel with the shift on it.

"Is this thing on?" *bang bang bang* "Dude look its on calm down.." Another voice is heard. "Ok ok "the camera turns on and spins around as a young teenager is seen in a car with another teen. "Hello once again..its your favorite FaceTuber Mad Mark along side with his side kick.." "Dude im not your side kick I will drive this car into a tree if you call me your side kick." The other teenager said. Mad Mark laughs and mouths "Sidekick." and smiles "My Partner in crime Tweek! and we are live so give us a thumbin so I know your out there!" Mad Mark was that Teen you know the one black hair in his face, black t-shirt that says 'Goblin Shit' and the tight jeans that looks like he can't breath in them. And Tweek.. well blonde spiked hair, a silver rod in his nose wearing a dark blue shirt and baggy jeans. Yeah them the crazy metal Teens! Mad Mark sets the camera on the dash of the car looking at the two of them. "ok check this out me and Tweek are headed to the location where we think..no we know where the first clue is for..." Both of them say at the same time and throw up the horns "GOBLIN SHIT!" Mad Mark starts to talk again. "Ok we are almost to the chemical warehouse you know where that crazy fuckin dude the man in the white mask totally set on fire!" "God!" Tweek says. as Mad Mark Smiles and throws up the horns sticking out his tongue. "Now it also said this place is haunted but whatever we are all about the clues......... dude stop the car we are here." Mad Mark says as Tweek stops the car. Tweek grabs the camera as they both get out. Tweek focus on Mad Mark. "Alright FaceTubers we are here the chemical warehouse still smells like fire and has the do not enter tape everywhere but we don't give a Shit we need to look for the clue come on Tweek." Mad Mark ducks under the do not enter tape and so does Tweek following and taping Mad Marks moves. The two slip inside the burnt warehouse as Tweek turns on the camera light. "Well if I was a goblin where would I stash my gold..hmm..."Mad Mark says. "Dude it smells like shit in here.." Tweek says. Mad Mark looks at the camera.."GOLBIN SHIT am I right?!? Wooo! come on pussy keep looking.." They both start walking around stepping over burnt wood, little puddles of god knows what and also jumping a few times seeing their own shadow. "Well" Mad Mark says as he turns and looks at the camera. "Looks like we were wrong Tweek...nothing here but shit and more shit and big ass rats..lets go Sorry FaceTubers we thought we figured out the clue but I guess we were wrong.." Mad Mark lowers his head and shakes his head walking past Tweek. Headed back towards the door they came from. "Just cut Tweek" He sighs..as the camera moves towards Mad Mark leaving.. "DUDE Mark Stop......Dude! "Tweek keeps the camera on Mark but just past him is the Goblin Shit logo spray painted on the wall next to the door but then it goes away.."What the hell?" He walks over to Mark and shines the light from the camera where he thought he saw the logo..moving the camera back n forth he see that it is starting to glow. "Ahhh shit smart glow in the dark spray paint bro check it out" Mark looks up and run towards the wall "YESSSSSSSS!! GOLBIN SHIT!!!" Tweek runs after him as they get closer and closer to reactivate the glow in the dark spray paint. "Ok ok kill the light get this on camera." Mark says as Tweek kills the light and films. "We found it! there is the Goblin Shit logo...and under it says...'Follow the White Goblin to 2 location to find the Goblin Kingdom' Uhh What? da hell does that mean?" Tweek points on look there is more toward the bottom. Mark moves some crap out of the way as it was a spray paint of a small white goblin logo that reads around the logo 'Boat yard' " Sweet Tweek to the boat yard my spiky hair friend!" he points up like he was some kind of super hero and takes off. Tweek turns the camera around and shakes his head..."See you guy at the boat yard Next!"

Hey, there was a dev blog last month on the 25th July a Email went out to those subscribed to the news letters. There will be a dev blog out tomorrow and the video will be shortly after the dev blog but not this week (No ETA though). Just to add on to @Genesai post here; there will also be trains which will travel across the map and stop at various train stations where players can enter and interact whilst in the train, however, trains will be AI-driven.

You'll have this option. Same with bus drivers. You'll be able to choose your rate (fare) as a taxi driver if you work on your own, or your if you work for a taxi company the boss will chose the rate (fare) and you'll get paid hourly most likely. The same works for bus drivers. You pick your route(s) and ticket prices if you own a bus. Or your boss will choose those if you work for a company. You'll get paid hourly most likely. Do mind if you want to start your own bus company, you will need to get licensed for that, and on top of that: you'll need to buy a bus. Those will not be cheap. $80k to $100k would not be unimaginable. With taxi there might be Uber-ish options, but of that I'm not aware myself. Someone else will have to confirm or debunk that one.

Tomorrow, on Friday the 25th there will be a new dev blog posted. This was confirmed on this evening's stream. That blog will feature an update of how they see where they are, etc. Also the new office they have, and stuff like that. Also game related info, of course. With a blog like that, you can estimate yourself how long you'll think it will take them. They'll refrain from giving estimates regarding release dates now and in the future. They've made that mistake before in the past, but will never again. So I suggest you read the upcoming dev blog several times over, and make your own conclusions. I believe that's the safest way.

The new video will be here very soon. It's nearly done now. Tomorrow Friday the 25th there will be a dev blog (confirmed on the stream this evening). They also confirmed the video won't be done prior to that, but it will come soon after. It will also feature Meth Cooks. Erm... I meant Meth Chefs. (sorry about that). I'm curious in any case.

Wow, what a month. It's been busy here at Asylum as usual, so let's get down to the interesting stuff! As expected, our current focus is on the Town Square so that we can get it out to you as soon as possible. We're finalising the interior of the library and art gallery (shared within one building) and adding polish to the environment. Once the clothing store interior is complete following that, the Town Square environment is ready to go. We'll continuously be adding more art after release though; specifically for house furnishings, decorations and clothing. In addition to the environment art, Miroslav (character artist) has been creating all sorts of hair assets which allow us to show hair appropriately when wearing a hat or helmet. This is a big task for him as it means making variations to match the hat options for each length of hair, but in the end it'll ensure your hair always looks as you'd expect when wearing headgear. Hair under a hat; work in progress Right next to the clothing shop you'll find a bicycle store where you can get a sneak preview of some of the bikes you'll be able to ride around in the full Identity release. We showed you a bicycle work in progress last blog post and now you can see the finished result of that below. This image will give you a rough idea of the detail level you'll see in Identity's vehicles. Ridable bicycle With more final systems coming online for the Town Square release, we now have functioning phones. Each player will start with a cellphone, although you'll be able to upgrade it with three mobile OS options available. The phone OS' each have a unique and interesting style. Characters also have a designated phone number assigned when they're created; you'll be able to get a custom number for a fee. These phones work just as you'd expect. You're able to dial up another player and speak with voice remotely. Businesses can even get a business line which, when called, will contact a member of that corporation who's online. Shot from an internal system test: advertising While the art of the billboard above isn't final, it gives you a very good idea of what you can expect in Identity for advertising. That's right, you can really publish messages around the world through billboards and other means. Corporations and those running for government office can purchase billboard space to help get their message out. You'll select a graphical template from a large list of options and then attach a brief message or other customization to make it your own. These billboards can also be moderated by the server operators. There are other similar advertising systems, too. For example digital road signs can be made to show custom messages by the current government. We can't wait to show you more of Identity, and we'll soon have that opportunity with the release of an overhauled website. Those current pledge packages are about to go away forever, and some of the rewards won't be available for purchase again after the new website changes. Also, follow us on our Twitch channel if you'd like to stop in and ask questions of the developers. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you'll find a few developers playing a random game from 4pm EST to 5pm EST. Ask any questions and they'll be happy to answer on stream. Catch some of Identity's developers hard at work and see how they make the magic happen: we'll be providing development streaming dates and times on Twitter, soon! -- John VanderZwet

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) 1. How are Kickstarter backers different from website backers? There is only one difference between backer rewards for the Kickstarter and website. Kickstarter backers will receive a unique in-game hat with the Kickstarter logo. Website backers receive a hat with the Identity logo. No new content in the future will ever display either of these logos. 2. Many people are confused on what the game is about. Would you mind telling us what your vision for the game is? Is the game more about Cops vs Robbers, or a balance between all the available paths? Identity is a cops and robbers game at heart, but it is a life simulator in so many other ways. We’re catering to role-play in a way that is possibly the first of its kind. Players have the freedom to pursue careers that will impact the player economy in their own unique way. Become a taxi driver, deliver goods to player-owned businesses, fight fires, save lives, argue a case in criminal court, or just hold out your hand and beg for money. Find, or steal your ‘identity’! 3. What can you tell us about the world? World size? Player limit? We anticipate that the playable world size will be 200 square kilometers, or 77 square miles in comparison. This means that the whole map is 14 km wide, and would take about an hour and a half to walk across. We hope to support up to 300 players (or more!) per server. 4. Can you expand on the professions? We know there will be cops, but what types of jobs will be available for civilians? Will they be able to create their own businesses? Create their own items? etc. Also, Medics and Firefighters? Players can choose from a wide range of professions, including the ability to become a Firefighter, EMT, Taxi Driver, Farmer, Bounty Hunter, Fisherman, Logger, Miner, Delivery Driver and even a business entrepreneur. The options available to you as a player get more specific than this even, but we aren’t yet ready to expand on the full list. The direction of development is prone to change, and we don’t want to promise anything that might change down the pipeline. Business ownership allows players to own factories and small business, giving them control over what items are manufactured and sold. Items created by a factory must be delivered to their destination city where store owners in that area can decide what quantity and type (formal wear, casual, punk outfits, weapons, etc.) they wish to list in their business. Some default items are always available in all stores for when market demand is not met. 5. How will death be handled? When a player dies, some items such as the money the player is carrying at that time, will be dropped on the ground and will become accessible to anyone in the area that wishes to take it. Clothing items will never be dropped. We have decided that a player’s character appearance in a social game like Identity is important. You will always look the way you decide your character to look. If the player is not resusitated by an EMT or teammate, the player is then prompted to respawn at the location of their last sync (house, apartment, city) Private servers have some control over what types of items players will drop on death, if any at all. 6. Can you expand on how the housing system will work? Size and availability of apartments and houses? Players can choose to own or rent housing in Identity, while apartments can also be shared with a friend or roommate depending on the size of the property. For instance, two friends, or a married couple can choose to purchase a 2 bedroom apartment where they both can live comfortably with each other. Apartments and houses are fully customizable, allowing players to place furniture and objects anywhere in the room. Home-owners can invite other players into their apartment or house at any time. Players cannot access another players home without an invitation. 7. Will there be any specific safe areas where people can go AFK or sit and socialize without being killed or robbed? There are safe zones within certain types of buildings in Identity. Metal detectors serve to preserve immersion, and will temporarily remove any weapons upon entry, allowing all players in the area to safely relax, socialize and meet new friends. These safe zones are known to us as “Sub-Hubs” or social gathering points that reflect on the lifestyle theme of their environment (Biker Bar, Business club, Bum alley, etc.). While many of these areas can only be accessed by law-abiding citizens, some Sub-Hubs are neutral and can be entered by any player on the map. Few areas are designated gathering points for active criminals looking for the right crime of opportunity, or new friends to help them plan their next heist. 8. How will player identification work in game? Will names appear above players heads? If so, at what distances will they be seen? As our design stands right now, the official servers do display names over heads within certain ranges. Some things like masks and balaclavas can affect this. Moreover, private servers have an option where they can hide names from all players unless greeted. By this I mean you won’t see the name over another player until they perform an emote action, after which you’ll always see their name.
