2 pointsSupply and Demand Hey everyone, I hope you are all as excited for this game as I am. This community is thriving and very friendly and supportive, so I have decided to write a quick overview of a market force called Supply and Demand, to help people who don't know much about economics learn. What is Supply and Demand? Supply and Demand is possibly the most influential market force in economics and business. On the surface, It's quite intuitive, honestly; and it has to do with businesses that focus on production and marketing. (For any business where you are selling something, this is important). Basically, Supply is the amount of product that your business has (and is willing to sell). Demand comes from the consumers, and is reflective of how "popular" your item is. (Or, more specifically: "An economic principle that describes a consumer's desire and willingness to pay a price for a specified good or service") How do they interact? On the surface, it might seem like Supply and Demand have a very simple relationship. However, it's not as simple as 'if one goes down, the other one goes up'. There are other variables that influence this trend. The two main ones are Price and Service (Quality). However, before we look at Price and Service, let's look at how Supply and Demand interact if Price and Service stay constant: High Demand + High Supply This is a very good outcome for your product, and will allow your business to grow and prosper. This means that you have a surplus of your product, but people want to buy them. This keeps the price stable, and allows your business to prosper, and your product to become more popular. This is great for any growing business, and what you should shoot for to start off, (Technically you can't really control Demand too much, without lowering the price, so if you want to make a profit, make sure you are selling something quality, that people will want to spend their money on). [IRL Example: Gasoline] (<-- People need it, and there is a good supply of it) High Demand + Low Supply This is most likely the ideal outcome for your product, but is a gamble, and also takes a long time to get established (Unless you are unbelievably lucky). High Demand and Low Supply allows the price of your product to skyrocket, guaranteeing you massive profits. It is true that you will be selling less of your product, but since the price is so high, you will make up for selling less of your profit. However, it is hard for something like this to get situated. I'll provide a specific real world example: Yeezys. This is a shoe brand that makes a small amount of their product when they are release, but sell them at ridiculous prices. However, the demand is so high, that the shoes sell out in seconds. The shoes most likely don't cost very much to make (although they are quite well made); however, due to skillful branding and marketing, they make incredible profits. Wait a second... You might be asking yourself; "If these shoes are cheap to make and everyone wants them, and they sell out so quickly, why doesn't the shoe company just keep the price the same, and make more of them to sell?" Well, if this worked, then the company that makes Yeezys would start mass producing them at extreme rates. The reason this doesn't work is because increasing supply will lower demand, especially if that product relies on being rare to have value. In this specific case, people buy Yeezys because it gives them a sense of class; their worth comes from the shoes themselves, but is amplified by the fact that not very many people have Yeezys. If suddenly more and more Yeezys are available for people to buy, more and more people will have access to them. The people who once thought they were a higher class because of the shoe they wore (which I think is asinine, but that's my personal opinion, and my friends say this is the main reason they buy expensive shoes), now see more people wearing Yeezys, and the worth decreases for them. This means that Demand will fall, and the company that creates Yeezys will be forced to decrease the price of their shoes for more people to buy them. Low Demand + Low Supply This is bad, like, really bad. This is how most small businesses fail in their infancy. The business doesn't have enough resources to create much of their product, so they are forced to raise the prices so that they can break even, and pay their Overhead (Overhead = What they paid to start their business in the first place). However, since they are forced to have high prices for their product (Which hasn't gained much popularity since it's new), the Demand drops, and the company is doomed to fail. The only way this can be fixed is to: (A): Drop that product and make a new one, that people will want to buy, and is realistically profitable; or (B): Drop the price of the product. This will make your company go into even more debt, but will give your product the chance to gain in popularity, subsequently allowing your to raise the price later. (This is very risky though, and can potentially ruin you even more). [Real life example: Rare, but useless metals, or materials] ((Sorry I couldn't think of something better, can someone comment below something with Low Supply and Low Demand that is prominent in today's society?)) Low Demand + High Supply If you thought Low + Low was bad, well, it gets worse. Imagine you start a business, and you pour a ton of money into it, to make a large amount of a product that you think will catch hold and have a demand. You are able to make a ton of your product, (which cost you a lot of money), but nobody wants to buy it. Now you are stuck with a large surplus of an item that you can't sell, (at a profitable price), and you are forced to sell it for a cheaper price. (Sometimes people don't even want it when it's cheap, and that is just a total failure). Price and Service and how they factor in: Price and Service factor in intuitively; If you increase the price of a product, Demand decreases, which increases the supply of the product, and decreases an overall profit of the product. (As in, the individual profit will increase, but the product as an entire whole will decrease, as less people will spend money on it). (Technically, only part of Demand decreases. The customer's desire to buy the product stays the same, but their willingness to buy the product decreases, and if you want to get really into it, the customer's desire actually increases as price increases, since people want to have something worth a lot of money, (Only if it is something of material value), However, this is getting too complicated for an overview, and I only know the basics myself anyways.) If the price of a product decreases, the Demand increases, however this lowers the supply of the product, and also decreases individual profits. Now for service (or quality); If the quality of the product is high, then people will want to buy it, and the price can be increased. However, if you are selling a low quality product, the demand will decrease (Unless it's fast food, which is an anomaly, and relies on other factors, that I will get into now). Other forces that are a variable in supply and demand Of course, Economics cannot be simple, and there have to be a ton of hidden variables in determining a product's success. These include, (but are definitely not limited to:) Marketing / Branding Convenience Necessity (These are the main ones, I can't think of any more right now, but please comment below and I will add them) Marketing Put simply, you could have the best product in the entire world, with a low price, and a desire from people to buy that product. However, if nobody knows about that product, nobody is going to buy it. This is where Marketing comes in. People need to know what you are selling, and you need to convince them that your product is great. This can be done in a variety of ways, and in the real world, marketing officers are paid millions of dollars to come up with advertisements, or even unnoticeable jingles or phrases, that secretly manipulate consumers into spending their money. (Example: McDonalds jingle; "da da da da da I'm lovin it", whenever you hear that, you think of McDonalds; whenever you think of McDonalds, you think of food. Now that you are thinking of food, you realize: "Hey, I'm pretty hungry, I'm gonna go take a stop at Micky D's!) Branding Branding is similar, but not really. Branding means attaching a name to a product that has significance. This makes a giant impact in the clothing industry. A shirt is just a shirt, but if it has "Calvin Klein" on the logo, it suddenly is worth more...(But is it? That's the power of branding, a name adds more "worth" to a product). Some companies also do this with celebrities. They will hire a famous person to rave about their product, and to be a star of their commercial (Subway is especially notorious for this). People watching the cartoon think "Wow, that person is my idol, and he likes Subway? I'm going to go buy 23 Subway footlongs to show that I'm just like Michael Phelps! (Michael Phelps has been in so many Subway commercials I have lost count) Convenience Convenience is exactly what you think it would be. Fast food is terrible quality, but it is cheap and convenient, so it has a high demand. Fast food joints added drive-thru's because they make Fast food even faster, which adds more consumers, and subsequently more revenue. Necessity Necessity is also exactly what you think it would be. People don't buy gasoline for their cars because they want to, they buy it because they need gasoline for their cars to run. This makes the demand skyrocket, and allows the demand to stay very high. (Gasoline isn't an ideal example, since you don't need gas to survive, so it's not a complete necessity. A better example is Food.) Basic food items, water, housing, etc. will always have an extremely high demand, since they are needed to survive. So that's it! 2 pointsAnd you want to be able to count your bullets from a "behind your shoulder" cam? Nah. That wouldn't work, at all. I don't want to burst your bubble, but this isn't going to happen, ever. It's up to you to count the shots you fire! I wish your ammo count wouldn't even display on a HUD. How's that for realism?

1 pointThis month in development Another month and another dev blog to keep you updated! I want to start this one by giving a thank you to everyone who's receiving this blog post by email, our backers who are making Identity a reality. It's an exciting time as our team is growing and our pace quickening as a result. Identity's beginning to get more exposure and every pledge we receive helps us produce content faster. It's been slower than we'd like in the past because our team has been tiny, but this growth we're seeing as of late has been opening doors and propelling us forward. As of this month we've now raised over $700,000 USD; a large amount of money and what we've needed to bring on more talent. Talent we've lost to other studios and existing contracts in the past, some of our absolute best, is now returning to Asylum Entertainment to work on Identity full-time. We're really looking forward to the work from those being added to our roster, which will result in more clothing options as well as much prettier environments. We're also looking to pick up another programmer and a new community manager very shortly, to improve our PR situation and give you guys a more transparent view into development. Case variations for one of three phones in Identity With our art team growing with top industry talent, we're also making some good progress in content programming. Our elevator system has been finalized after being re-hashed. This elevator system is used in the Town Square, and throughout Identity where apartments exist, to bring players up to their lofted homes. The interesting part is these function like real elevators, and you'll see other players in them going to and from their floors. They act as loading zones, so instead breaking your immersion with a loading screen we load the apartment and it's customizations in the background while you ride the elevator. By the time the door opens everything's in place and you don't even notice that you've moved into a special instance of the world. Art of the Town Square When creating new environments, we first have our concept artist draw up a layout and artistic design. From there, environment artists create the 3D assets from that piece and a level designer places them in the world you inhabit. We're pleased to have our incredibly talented concept artist, Alexander, back in full-swing as we prepare the final pieces of environment necessary for the Town Square. Clothing store concept; hotel and art gallery in rear The clothing store is interesting in Town Square because it's operating on a system we've created for many computer-controlled shops in Identity. It has a fully functioning shoplifting mechanic. In most games you walk up to an NPC (non-player character) and interact to purchase items. You then simply walk away with your items. Stores in Identity are a different story, and are unique in the gaming world. You'll add items from racks and shelves to your cart. You can then walk into the dressing room to preview those items (assuming it's clothing) or walk up to the register to pay. What if you don't pay and simply walk out the door with your cart? Shoplifting is a reality in Identity, although it's often not recommended. If you're not skilled, and most people won't be, you'll set off alarms and have a hard time getting away. You'll likely spend time in jail for the attempt. Expensive items can also not be shoplifted for game balance purposes. Even something so simple as using a shop gives freedom and oppportunity not found in any game before. Last month we showed you a bicycle which will be ridable in Identity. Below you'll see the bicycle shop concepts for the Town Square. While you won't be able to ride them in Town Square, you'll be able to browse many options which will be available to you. Bicycle shop concept for the Ash Hill town square These final two interiors are being created by our artists as we speak, and are the last environments required for Town Square's release, along with some minor systems programming and polish. Art gallery/library concept art, previously shown Art gallery and library in-game, without player art The near future One of our top priorities right now is to give all of you who have been waiting a glimpse of real gameplay in a video. Identity's funding and progress has exploded since we showed you the workings of the housing and apartment systems on YouTube, and now we want you to see vehicles, drug production and weapon systems. I can't promise any dates on this video, but it'll be soon. In fact, I expect you to watch this video before you receive the next dev blog. This coming video is sort of a catalyst, and I can't wait to show you what's in store after it. The Town Square is also getting near the point where we're going to be able to start showing off videos of the gameplay elements you'll find within it, leading up to the public release of the module. These videos will be coming after the previously mentioned video. We do regret how little we've been able to show you thus far. We're a tiny team stretching a small budget to its limits, so things take some time. Now that much of the core exists and other supporting pieces are falling into place, I'm excited that we're now really making progress that can be witnessed. -- John VanderZwet Let's Make Identity Great! 1 pointPersonally I think it would be cool if the earned ingame money and the money you earned from illegal activities were almost like a separate currency and there could be a way of converting it over through like a money laundering process and money earned from illegal stuff you had to hide it in your home and hope the cops don't find it

1 pointSurely Identity is ambitious, but it does NOT have too many managers and it DOES talk to the community. The real issue here is that the community (in general) is never happy with the information they get. They always want more. Also, comparing APB and APB:R with Identity is so so soooo wrong. Both the game, and the development process are way different. Yes you do compare them when you say "LET IDENTITY LEARN FROM APB?". It's like saying "let Stalin learn from Caesar's mistakes", or "let Hitler learn from Napoleon's mistakes". Sure, both were high placed military officials, but besides that the comparison makes no sense at all.

1 pointHey, and thank you! Sorry it took so long to post. VERY busy work week I plan on taking a career as a criminal, now that I think about it. I am a Corrections Sergeant in real life and sort of live out a 'what if' scenario in game. I am looking forward to the customization the game seems to offer! I can't wait to update my apartment and buy a car and do it by committing crimes Great information in the FAQ and I've seen every video and page I could view on this game. I am very excited!

1 point@PhoenixFury stop beeing a saltshaker m8. A freaking Ammo Counter has nothing to search in this game. If you cant count up to 7 or 30 its not my fault. A ammo HUD is something only people who cant count or are too lazy need. If you cant just count the bullets you shot, go and play MW. Its a little stupid to compare eating and perma death with a Ammo HUD. Its not about making the game with that hyperrealistic its about making it better.

1 point1. There will be many, but it depends on how much the player base is. 2. The player slots will be 300 but if the devs wanted, they could go higher because of the technology they have, however it don't mean they will go higher.

1 pointThere isn't a specified number, but there will most likely be a few for each region. The servers will have at least 300 people concurrently, possibly up to 500.

1 point*blink, blink, blink* ughh where am I? why does it smell funny? He looks around then looks down..."where are my clothes" he says to himself. Sitting up he starts to focus and see he is in the hospital. "ouchie" He says to himself hold his side.."ohhh..it worked!" he says to himself again and smiles. the old switch a roonie. He thinks as he remembers has it went down." -memory thought- the man in the white mask is on the ground laughing spitting up blood. he looks over at the rent a cop and then smiles. He gets to his knees as he starts to undress himself and the rent a cop. He dresses the cop in his white suit and places him behind the desk in the chair. He then grabs the shotgun and unloads the shotgun shells out of it placing them on the desk in front of him. he smiles and picks up white mask sliding it right over the rent a cop face. "You look so pretty!" he claps and finishes put on the cops uniform. He then hears someone walking to the door he quickly grabs the cops hats and places it over his head laying on the ground with a grin on his face. -memory thought over- A giant grins comes over his face. and stands up out of the bed looking for clothes. "oh hey.." He spots a guy next to him that seems to out cold and grabs his clothes. A nice pair of jeans, a nice red t-shirt and a brown jacket, with a black nike cap. "Well this guys has no sense of style..." He pulls the nike cap down as far as he can so his face is some what covered. and walks out of his room and towards the exit whistling. Now that man in the black cap walks out front door but then quickly stops and seeing an ambulance stopping right in front of him. "Well that was rude.." Two EMT hop out from the back grabbing the roll bed thingy as a cop comes up behind the man in the black cap Cop: "Excuse me can you leave the area?" He nods and starts to walk away, but looks back to see who is in the ambulance.....he stops as he can not believe that it is Agent Anderson. A wonderful smile comes over his face and turns around. He walks back behind the cop quickly taking his pistol from the cops holster and blast him right in the back of the neck. blood sprays on his hat and a little bit of his face, he quickly points the gun to the two EMTs and pops them real quick dropping the EMTs, before they knew what was happening. "Wooooooooooo" He dorps the gun and quickly walks over to her "time for a ride my dear" He pushes Anderson back into the back of the ambulance and hops in with her closing the doors behind him and locking them.He laughs and smiles walking to the front of the ambulance but stops and grabs a needle full of something that looks looks like it will knock a person out but isn't sure just grabs it and pockets it. He hops into the front seat and hits the gas the sirens go off as he hits the road. "man it stinks in here" He rolls down the window and sticks head out the window like a dog. his black nike cap goes flying off as he feels the air run across his face and his messy medium length hair blows in the wind, he closes his eyes. "Ahhhhhhhh this is the life!" He yells over the siren and the lights and then slicks back his hair. About 30 mins later he comes to a stop and turns off the sirens but leaves the lights on. "Honey we are here!" He laughs and climbs out. the sun is just coming up as he has parked up on a cliff looking over the ocean. He slicks his hair back and walks toward the cliffs edge to watch the sun rise... (That is it my Season 1 post hope you all like it all up to Anderson to close Season 1 and everyone get ready for season 2)

1 pointI thought it would be nice with a favicon without the white border, but I thought that people were too busy for that. So I created one myself, since I wasen't sure which exact color of orange it was, I made it in the color #eb4f1e, which has been drawn out from the small favicon currently in play. 1 pointWell i was into Rainbow 6. Had a good team behind me and everything but than one monday 1.43am it happened... we were playing custom match 10 people all together on Teamspeak we had some fun and some beers and then i got Fairfight Perma Banned. we all 10 had videos live going and so we just waited until the support got opened for the day. ~1pm i called them and then they made a ticket where all 10 of us posted the videos everyone had. so it was MORE then CLEAR that we all had fun inside the building and i killed one enemy with the knife. well... All i got was " Fairfight didnt made a mistake banning You. The Permanent Ban from all Multiplayer-sessions will not be lifted. We hope we could helped you with your problem if not please dont hesitate to Contact us again." UBISHIT should get closed.
