This month in development Another month and another dev blog to keep you updated! I want to start this one by giving a thank you to everyone who's receiving this blog post by email, our backers who are making Identity a reality. It's an exciting time as our team is growing and our pace quickening as a result. Identity's beginning to get more exposure and every pledge we receive helps us produce content faster. It's been slower than we'd like in the past because our team has been tiny, but this growth we're seeing as of late has been opening doors and propelling us forward. As of this month we've now raised over $700,000 USD; a large amount of money and what we've needed to bring on more talent. Talent we've lost to other studios and existing contracts in the past, some of our absolute best, is now returning to Asylum Entertainment to work on Identity full-time. We're really looking forward to the work from those being added to our roster, which will result in more clothing options as well as much prettier environments. We're also looking to pick up another programmer and a new community manager very shortly, to improve our PR situation and give you guys a more transparent view into development. Case variations for one of three phones in Identity With our art team growing with top industry talent, we're also making some good progress in content programming. Our elevator system has been finalized after being re-hashed. This elevator system is used in the Town Square, and throughout Identity where apartments exist, to bring players up to their lofted homes. The interesting part is these function like real elevators, and you'll see other players in them going to and from their floors. They act as loading zones, so instead breaking your immersion with a loading screen we load the apartment and it's customizations in the background while you ride the elevator. By the time the door opens everything's in place and you don't even notice that you've moved into a special instance of the world. Art of the Town Square When creating new environments, we first have our concept artist draw up a layout and artistic design. From there, environment artists create the 3D assets from that piece and a level designer places them in the world you inhabit. We're pleased to have our incredibly talented concept artist, Alexander, back in full-swing as we prepare the final pieces of environment necessary for the Town Square. Clothing store concept; hotel and art gallery in rear The clothing store is interesting in Town Square because it's operating on a system we've created for many computer-controlled shops in Identity. It has a fully functioning shoplifting mechanic. In most games you walk up to an NPC (non-player character) and interact to purchase items. You then simply walk away with your items. Stores in Identity are a different story, and are unique in the gaming world. You'll add items from racks and shelves to your cart. You can then walk into the dressing room to preview those items (assuming it's clothing) or walk up to the register to pay. What if you don't pay and simply walk out the door with your cart? Shoplifting is a reality in Identity, although it's often not recommended. If you're not skilled, and most people won't be, you'll set off alarms and have a hard time getting away. You'll likely spend time in jail for the attempt. Expensive items can also not be shoplifted for game balance purposes. Even something so simple as using a shop gives freedom and oppportunity not found in any game before. Last month we showed you a bicycle which will be ridable in Identity. Below you'll see the bicycle shop concepts for the Town Square. While you won't be able to ride them in Town Square, you'll be able to browse many options which will be available to you. Bicycle shop concept for the Ash Hill town square These final two interiors are being created by our artists as we speak, and are the last environments required for Town Square's release, along with some minor systems programming and polish. Art gallery/library concept art, previously shown Art gallery and library in-game, without player art The near future One of our top priorities right now is to give all of you who have been waiting a glimpse of real gameplay in a video. Identity's funding and progress has exploded since we showed you the workings of the housing and apartment systems on YouTube, and now we want you to see vehicles, drug production and weapon systems. I can't promise any dates on this video, but it'll be soon. In fact, I expect you to watch this video before you receive the next dev blog. This coming video is sort of a catalyst, and I can't wait to show you what's in store after it. The Town Square is also getting near the point where we're going to be able to start showing off videos of the gameplay elements you'll find within it, leading up to the public release of the module. These videos will be coming after the previously mentioned video. We do regret how little we've been able to show you thus far. We're a tiny team stretching a small budget to its limits, so things take some time. Now that much of the core exists and other supporting pieces are falling into place, I'm excited that we're now really making progress that can be witnessed. -- John VanderZwet Let's Make Identity Great! Identity's development is going great thanks to the support of people like you, but systems like these take a lot of manpower and resources to create. Identity has an awesome community behind it, but when more people know about what we're creating and our budget grows from pledges, we can not only work faster but we can do more, too. If you're as excited to play Identity as we are making it, help spread the word. The gaming industry has needed a game like Identity for too long; let's make it great together!

Just because you paid them doesn't mean you get to dictate their schedule. You knew that you were purchasing a pre-alpha game, don't complain if you already knew what you were buying into. You are welcome to return it. The first module will be out in late August or September. The full game will be out mid-late 2018. They aren't trying to sell something, they are trying to make something. If they were just interested in the money then they wouldn't offer refunds.
  3. 2 points
No, you will not be able to play the game as it is not out yet! The first module is due to come out relatively soon, though, so if you wanted to play an "alpha" version as soon as possible, I would go with the Founder Packer ($30)! Hope this helped

I think this may be more of a personal preference but also may be customizable on private servers. In my opinion, I agree with @LuciousTimes that they should hand them over or just plan on not being involved in any businesses until after they exit the political arena.

The modules (betas) will not be the same as the actual game. They will have 3 different modes that have nothing to do with the actual game. It's just to try out ingame mechanics etc. http://www.identityrpg.com/info/modules/ If you want to have a taste of the mechanics, buy the 30$ if you wanna wait another year. buy the 15$ one :)!

    THOMAS HETCH IDENTITY GOVERNOR EXPOSED!!!!!!
  9. 1 point
Thank you for visiting the home of our campaign and welcome! I will be posting updates here as they come. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My name is Bobby Cruz. Just like you, I am a citizen of Identity. I think we can all agree that we are incredibly excited for this game to become a reality. Personally, I am eager to see what my fellow citizens choose to do with their lives. Will you pursue a career in law enforcement and bravely commit yourself to protecting others? Will you become a successful, innovative businessperson and provide great products and services to the people of Identity? Perhaps you are a creative mind and will opt to become an artist, interior decorator or furniture designer. No matter what path you choose in Identity, it is critical for you to be able to live your life, fulfill your roles and enjoy yourself in a community that is happy, safe, and equal. After much thought, I have decided to announce my campaign for Governor. My goal that I commit to you, the citizens, is to provide a community that is constantly harboring a place for your opinions on important matters. Governing is not a one-person job. Having as much input as possible from our citizens is key to a successful, transparent and well-functioning government and society. Our Goals If elected, the government will run on three essential platforms: Involvement, Ideas and Impact. Let me explain: INVOLVEMENT This is the foundation of my campaign and will be the foundation of our government if I am elected. In order to successfully carry out my role as governor, I am asking for input from all citizens no matter your background. Each and every one of your opinions matters to me and are vital to shaping a society for our citizens. Involvement is open to anyone and everyone who is willing to sacrifice their valuable time for the betterment of our society. Opportunities for involvement will include being able to serve on the Governor’s Cabinet, multiple committees across a variety of disciplines such as labor, environment, public policy, and ethics, as well as citizen polls and votes to directly provide the government with your opinion. IDEAS Once you become involved, whether it be through the cabinet, committees or taking part in frequent polls and votes, your ideas have the potential to become reality. Have an idea about public policy that you would love to see implemented in our community? Are you unhappy with a recent governing decision and want to voice your opinion for change? Maybe you are living in an area experiencing an unusually high amount of crime and want to establish a neighborhood watch program. All of these are possible and we want to hear about it. As your governor, I promise you that my team and I will evaluate every single one of your ideas with seriousness, professionalism and promptness. Not one idea gets overlooked in my office. I want to implement your ideas into our community to make it a better place. IMPACT Lastly, your ideas become impactful in the community. This is where your ideas about how our community is governed are put in place. When your idea successfully makes it through and is approved by voters, our citizens, we take immediate action to implement it. My commitment to you is that I will enforce these new ideas to the fullest extent of my authority. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now that we have covered the platforms, I will move on to my stances on important issues facing our world today. I will do my best to keep it short and sweet, and I will welcome your questions at any time! Issues TAXES Tax percentages of income and how they will be distributed are yet to be determined. This is one of the biggest and most controversial parts of a government thus it is a work in progress. I would like to bring on a committed campaign team that I can collaborate with to pursue this venture. Please see “Involvement Opportunities” below for more information on how you can become a part of the campaign. EQUALITY Every citizen has the right to pursue any opportunity they desire, so long as it follows the law, no matter their background. I am committed to ensuring that this is enforced, maintained and improved upon throughout my term. HEALTHCARE Healthcare is a right for all people. I believe that it should be provided, free of cost, to all of our citizens. Funding will be provided primarily through taxes. GUN CONTROL A controversial matter that is of utmost importance. Guns will be very difficult to obtain in our community. Prospects will have to complete an intensive background check, training programs and psychiatric analyses before being considered for a gun permit. DRUG LAWS Illicit drugs such as cocaine and methamphetamine will be illegal. Marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco will be fully legalized. JOBS AND MINIMUM WAGE My goal is for every citizen to have a job or career that they enjoy and that they can make a decent living off of. Minimum wage will be set at $15 to ensure that citizens can provide themselves with the basic necessities to live. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES Our campaign is currently looking for a number of individuals to assist us across all categories. Please direct message me for an application. Current Openings: Campaign Advisors ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Bobby Cruz for Governor Campaign is a committed supporter and volunteer for the Human Rights Preservation Organization. http://tinyurl.com/j2236nw ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you all very much for taking the time to read my post. Please feel free to ask questions, either on this post or through direct message. I look forward to the future of this campaign and the future of our community!

Great post, very in-depth campaign page that outlines your platform, stances, and emphasis on citizen involvement. I have researched most of the other candidates and I have found you to be miles beyond the rest, in my opinion. I love the Involvement, Ideas, Impact part of your campaign and am looking forward to seeing you accomplish things in Identity politics! You have my full support, Mr. Cruz!

Hello HomerSimpson We have the more accurate tax system in our program. You can look at it. There are certainly still more things that are important to you perhaps. We agree on the death penalty, because it can not be that a murderer or rapist is simply imprisoned and then released. He could start the crime again. If the police have detected such a crime, then the offender should be put into jail immediately and should be put into the "special" space. As for the Front National Party. Have you looked through the program of the party and understood it? We also do not agree on some of their goals, but we accept as a political party because that is the most democratic way we need. Chairman Maurice Clinton

This would be unrealistic mate.... In real life, you cannot "Mute" the crowd when you are on stage and so best not adding it here.

    1. No, you can get a external programme to do that for you but there will not be a built in mechanic for it in the game. 2. You can do as you wish I believe. 3. likely yes, but not sure. 4. yes, I believe that will be possible, but I hope it is. 5. I do not know.

    1. No, the brands will be made up but similar to real life ones. There will be a few classics but the cars will be generally a mixture of all brands and types if not every car in RL. 2. Likely yes, but not sure either. 3. No, if brushing your teeth is in the game then it is an extra thing... etc. 4. yes 5. Yes you can carry cash and a bank card etc.

I feel for you. I made it my sole career in Arma 3 mods to be a paramedic. Sadly I couldn't do civilian jobs as a paramedic, and I refused to switch over due to implemented timers. Yuk. Just to state I ONLY played as a paramedic to date. So I feel your pain. Besides getting shouted at for not reaching a place 10 KM away in the time they wanted me there, there are a lot of other issues. One of them is getting shot at too many times by criminals lurking around. Who the hell shoots a paramedic? Or when it doesn't come to that, but I do get a warning not to heal, splint, or revive. What kind of RP world is that? Or when I do get allowed to treat them, or revive, they simply kill him/her again. Oh joy. Sure I get paid for the revive, but in RP sympathy I've had to RP a hysterical medic trying to enforce the Hippocratic Oath more times than I wish. And the sad part of killing a medic there? It's utterly senseless. I lose nothing. I simply respawn. But it's annoying. I do sincerely hope people will have a lot more respect for this roleplayer group. Same towards the Fire Department and any form of law enforcement. Personally, in Identity I will play a police officer. It's time for a chance. But I'm sure in time, after a good and healthy career as a cop, I will switch over to EMT / Fire Department for sure. I do hope the Fire Department will be called on with vehicular accidents and such as well. Not just EMTs yanking people out of mangled vehicles. Not very realistic.

Conor without a doubt. He knows the psychology with the fighting world and knows how to exploit his opponents weaknesses. He has an almost flawless technique in his fighting style where he is perfectly relaxed while being able to utilize his kinetic chain to deliver the most power. Floyd is an expert on collecting points in boxing, Conor is an expert in delivering the KOs. That's my opinion after 7 years of martial arts experience

Is there a limit how much you can charge people or is it automatic? The charges are up to you. Will you be able transport more then one person at a time? Depends on how big your car is, I am sure normal taxi's can carry 3/4 people ( exluding you ) Will you be able to take control over a taxi company? U can start your own taxi company yes.

On a stream this week was said police will receive a passive paycheck. But most income will still come from arrests, etc. In that context, it's safe to assume this will be the same for all the government jobs. Sadly no those jobs won't be regulated on the official servers. Positions of commissioner or whoever will be at the top will be filled in by some of Asylum, or appointed by Asylum. The rest can join after running through the tutorial. On private servers however ... there will be quite a few customization options. But nothing game-breaking. So who knows there?

Short: NO. All those people you see talking about gangs etc are just pre-making them so they can start with everything as the game comes out. And no there is -as far as i know- no date when the first module will be released

If i am right ( and i hope i am) there will be NO undercover Cop. Why? I realy dont know anymore had too much parteeeeeyyys in the last few weeks so yeah. But i am sure @HairyGrenade or @LuckyDuck or someone else can give you a more detailed info to this ^^ If im wrong, just ignore this here

Marco asks "The cops are all distracted tonight, i say we do something big" Walter tells a very surprised and exited Marco "I know just the thing. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF THE DANK MAFIA GET YOUR VANS, MASKS, AND MONEYBAGS READY WE'RE GOING TO ROB SOME BANKS!" Marco yells his voice echoing to every corner of the safe-house "Oh and thank you Walter" Marco says as the roar of vans starting up starts to fill the safe-house "Red Army, Walter, Tuscan YOU COME WITH ME!" Not here yells to a running Red Army And Tuscan and a walking Walter Not Here jumps into the van with a tiger painted on it once everyone is in he drives off at a remarkably fast speed for a van (Decided the man in the white mask was to long to say every time I call you)(The Dank Mafia has no clue what they are getting into but Marco trusts the man as he got them a lot of money)(Marco knows a little about the FBI as he hacked the servers once for a job {but he can't remember which one} so he knows a little about @Norway174 and that she is hunting the man in the mask)

Actually watching really movies in theaters isn't really that big of a task. I would like to inform you that they're not new movies.. they're quite old movies that don't include any copyright actions to use. From there it's just having those movies in the files and being able to call and put them onto specific platforms. I see that you're new to the forum, so I would recommend looking around and learning more about the diverse game and development skills the developers actually acquire before talking about it being impossible, because it's actually not all that difficult. It's just simple game code, yes it's a lot, but it's nothing Rockstar couldn't do. I'm not sure if you know this or not, but Grand Theft Auto V actually does have the option to watch shows, movies, news, etc. So obviously you don't know much about game development haha. No salt, just honesty. Have a wonderful day, if you need anything else feel free to message me. ~ SummitsEdge // Mob Mechanix Pres & Founder

How do we interact with the world on Identity? Just press a button like on Arma 3 or there are more advanced things? As for example: on a vehicle it will be necessary to turn the key so that the engine works..?

I believe everything inside the interior is functional using your mouse to click on it. Identity is going to be immersive so keep that in mind.

I'm interested in owning my own ranch with cows, sheep and horses. I read that farming will be in the game, but what about ranch animals? Will I be able to milk cows, shear sheep, ride and/or breed horses? Will horse racing be a thing? Can I put a cart on my horse to deliver the goods I want to sell? I would like a ranch house with pastures full of animals around it. Will that be possible? And what about pets? Will we be able to own dogs or cats? Will we be able to open a pet shop or breed and sell dogs and cats to other players? I can't really find many answers to my questions, does anyone know?
  47. 1 point
I wish horses were a concept that were brought into the game, however, do you know if breeding and selling dogs is an option? That would be cool. Like you can breed them, raise the puppies and sell them to players who are interested in having one.

In a crowded city at a busy bus stop, a beautiful young woman who was waiting for a bus was wearing a tight mini skirt. As the bus stopped and it was her turn to get on, she became aware that her skirt was too tight to allow her leg to come up to the height of the first step of the bus. Slightly embarrassed and with a quick smile to the bus driver, she reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little, thinking that this would give her enough slack to raise her leg. Again, she tried to make the step only to discover she still couldn't. So, a little more embarrassed, she once again reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little more, and for the second time attempted the step, and, once again, much to her dismay, she could not raise her leg. With a little smile to the driver, she again reached behind a third time to unzip a little more and again was unable to make the step. About this time, a large Texan who was standing behind her picked her up easily by the waist and placed her gently on the step of the bus. She went ballistic and turned to the would be Samaritan and yelled, "How dare you touch my body! I don't even know who you are!" The Texan smiled and drawled, "Well, ma'am, normally I would agree with you, but after you unzipped my fly three times, I kinda figured we was friends!"

Yesterday afternoon, for another Identity Insider, we've released a video detailing the workings of player housing in Identity and what it has to offer at our present point in development. This gives you a good idea of the level of fidelity we're going for in all of our key systems, and more videos will follow as we continue. Housing was chosen for our first video as our initial focus in development is for features present in the upcoming Town Square module. If you haven't already seen the video, check it out above. Housing as you've seen in the video is an excellent place to hang out with friends, but it has a lot of good practical uses, too! First, housing is the primary storage location for items you've collected. Whether it's a bookshelf full of books, a gun-rack with wall-mounted guns, or a crate full of junk, it's sort of like a bank for tangible stuff. Housing is also valuable for moderate crafting, too. Some advanced recipes might require a factory, but a lot of stuff can be created at your home using special crafting tables. A hydroponics table can even be used to grow small-scale plants, legal or otherwise!

@Herzog Unless that's gonna link up with the main story soon then it's a fail rp. This rp as a whole is too disjointed, there's too many different storylines and because of that people aren't going to read the posts very much as they don't tend to involve themselves a lot
