3 pointsHello; I am Pam aka Permanent PMS; I am Old No. 7's wife in real and here I look forward to a wonderful experience on Identity. I recently learned an important lesson about role play. It is so very important to treat people with respect and kindness, just as you yourself wish to be treated. In that vein, I feel that this site will be a awesome place to get away from it all and have a great time!

(b) Every individual has freedom to start business of his own choice. (c) All economic activities are guided by the motive of profit. (d) Individuals are the owners and acquire property and pass it on to next heir after death. (e) Government has little role to play in the functioning of the economy. Prices of goods and services are determined by the market forces of demand and supply. Important Business Information Tax on businesses is 10% on company profit. After employees have been paid, inventory bought, etc. Depending on what the company reports as profit a business could nearly have no tax! The Tale of Lucious Times Lucious grew to be homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In a city of crime Lucious had to be on the lookout at every turn. In Lucious' young life he grew to be very aware of the crime filled city and knew he had to do something to ensure his safety. At 15, Lucious started an organization with a few neighborhood boys called "The Peacekeepers". These boys were brutal. They cleaned the streets of crime in the most direct ways possible. Showing up to criminal hideouts and wasting away every member present, making fake visits to prisons and jails to poison and eliminate those criminals on the inside, making appointments with the LAPD to let THEM know how things would be done. The Peacekeepers were vigilantes at the finest. The city soon had a crime rate so low new schools were being built and more people migrated to the lovely city of Los Angeles. Through all the harsh deeds The Peacekeepers had done Lucious never was present for the actual action. He was the mastermind, the planner, the brain of the whole operation. Sitting behind a desk as leader of The Peacekeepers. Oh how things looked great! Lucious had made something out of nothing and became a city icon and hero as he grew older. Though soon, things made a turn for the worst. Lucious' closest partner, his beautiful fiance was capture by a man known by the name Gustavo Fring. A now well-known high profile methamphetamine drug lord. He did so because by cleaning up the city Lucious made distribution for Mr. Fring come to a complete stop in the area. Lucious grew furious, so furious he began to walk into a whole new light. The Peacekeepers became a weapon at Lucious' disposal. He thought long and hard and then finally had a plan. After finding where Fring was located Lucious and his team of over 200 men approached the location, guns loaded and ready for anything. However, Fring was already aware of Lucious' presence and decided to retaliate. Fring killed Lucious' fiance, then sent out total war upon Lucious and his men. In the end only two men were left standing; Fring and Lucious. After few words, Lucious caught leverage and killed Fring. Though Lucious was severely injured by gunshot. He called the LAPD. With quickness, Lucious was saved and had chance to speak with the LAPD Chief of Police. He thanked Lucious for his doings and after a long conversation of tears the chief left. Lucious began to realize how much he'd loss. All his men, his fiance, his hold on the city from crime all gone! Three weeks later Lucious walked out of the hospital, grab all $789,211 he'd raised with his people, and began to leave town for a new home. A place called Turtle Beach on Identity Island. However, when he got to the town line he found something waiting for him. Over half the city was standing their with gold-colored gold-scented candles. Some of them stood to give thanks, but many stood ready to follow him wherever he went. A woman by the name of Dorris Jean approached Lucious and told him this: "We give these candles to represent who you are to the city. Forever will you be the gold we all love, the gold we all know has provided, the gold we all know will pay the price. For to us you are a leader and friend. For you have become like royalty in this city. And with you royalty we be your royal family." Lucious was proud. All negative feelings previous washed away. Lucious now felt the obligation to continue to lead. For he knew he was wise and could give great leadership. This time he wouldn't limit himself to the leadership of a groups of boys who run a city, no. That was below him now. Now he needed to lead in higher heights where he could have greater impact and influence. A position of power such as Governor would do the trick! So he then decided to venture into the political field of leadership once he arrived in his new home. A few hours later after a celebratory evening Lucious and the now called Royal Family left. 12 days later they arrived in Turtle Beach on the Identity island and the rest is soon to be foretold...

1 pointTimes have changed and crime is diversifying. Street gangs and other ethnic crime syndicates have sprouted up all over the place, but none warrant the quick shudder of fear when hearing the name la cosa nostra, "this thing of ours". Italian organized crime is the deadliest criminal organization on the island of Identity, if not the whole Earth. The Luprano crime family is a family started by Frank Luprano from Bari, Italy. He migrated to Canada and then to the Island where he started one of the largest crime syndicates in the world. The Luprano family is a pan-Italian cosa nostra family with it's members originally from other North American cities with mafia families, as well as home grown mobsters, and new blood imported from Italy. All made men in the Luprano family have southern Italian heritage with blood lines from places such as Sicily, Napoli, Bari, and Calabria. The family has a strict code of honor, and all members must take the oath of omerta. The family is involved in a vast array of criminal activities that include: extortion, loansharking, book making, fraud, kidnapping, drugs, illegal weapons, contract killing, robberies & much more. Almost anything that makes a hefty profit is of interest to the family, as well as legitimate and semi legitimate business endeavors. A mobster who is a hybrid of a street tough guy and an earner is rare and extremely respected. Both are essential for the family. Street guys play more of an enforcer role, laying down beatings, intimidating, murdering as well as doing things such as extortion and what not. Street guys are street smart and are traditional gangsters. Earners on the other hand are the brains of the family. They are the ones that make the big money, making big schemes and scams, without getting their hands as dirty up close and personal. When we call ourselves a family, we mean it. Once you take the oath to enter la cosa nostra, "this thing of ours", you will be treated as family; a brother, a father, or a son. You are expected to do the same. As a made man you will be treated with the utmost respect, you will get better opportunities to make money, and enjoy many privileges from the family, such as the police looking the other way in certain cases, discounts, and protection from other criminals. *Nothing can break the family bond, we die for each other to preserve our way of life, our secrets, and the bond of family.* Below is an old version of the hierarchy, to show the basic outline of the family. A new hierarchy can be found underneath for comparison. (I am aware that IRL a family would not disclose it's hierarchy, however, this is a game and part of the benefits of being part of the family is respect and fear from others knowing you are a part of it, as well as rank.) Ranks: from greatest to least Boss/Don: The leader. The boss makes all the most important decisions and gets a cut of everyones money. He usually doesn't get his hands dirty but creates big schemes and is always guarded. He oversees the business of the family as a whole and makes decisions that benefit the family. The boss can authorize large plans. The boss is present at every initiation ceremony. Underboss: Second in command. He supervises the street bosses, and deals with many issues that they need assistance in. He gets paid from the street bosses and turns over a large portion to the boss. The underboss acts as a consultant to the boss, along with the rest of the inner circle. Most of the concerns of the capo's and their crews are dealt with by the underboss, who acts as the voice and representative of the Don. The underboss consults the Don and the rest of the inner circle regarding very important issues. The underboss is next in line to be boss if the boss resigns. The underboss can create large crime plans and authorize them too. He is also usually present at the initiation ceremonies. Consigliere: Advisor; third in command. The consigliere is a very intelligent man who is also usually a lawyer or accountant. He manages the families finances, helps out with the cops, and helps out the family in the court of law. He is a direct advisor to the boss and in the inner circle along with the boss, underbosses and enforcers. He is usually present at initiation ceremonies. The consigliere usually associates with high status people like the mayor and chief of police. He is paid directly by the boss or underboss since he doesn't usually make collections or do dirty work. He usually also creates large money making schemes. Enforcer: Our family has the rank of enforcer as a high ranking position in the family. This position is achieved after plenty of dedication and reputation. This person acts as our most reliable hitman, that takes care of the most dire of problems. He is personal bodyguard to the inner circle and is part of the inner circle himself. The enforcer organizes the most elaborate of hits and is extremely feared. Street Boss: The Street Boss is an important position, and there are three Street Bosses, one for Ash Hill, one for Roseport, and one for Turtle Beach. Each street boss oversees the activities of the capo's and their crews in their respective cities. The Street Bosses resolve issues that the capo's need assistance in, such as territory disputes with other criminal groups, or any issues that may occur between crews in the same city. They are also involved in managing large scale business deals and schemes in their city, ensuring smooth collaboration between the crews to accomplish big jobs. Any issues that are too risky or important are brought to the inner circle, however, the Street Bosses are highly respected men, who are capable of making important decisions. They are paid kick up from the capo's that they supervise, and kick up a percent of their earnings to the underboss. The Street Bosses are present at very important meetings and can be present at initiation ceremonies. Captain/Capo: Captains' in charge of their own crew of soldiers. There can be many captain's, but they must each have at least three or four soldiers underneath them. Captain's are highly respected men of honor that are usually on the street with their soldiers making money doing collections, and other illegal activities(although they might also do some legal stuff.) A capo supervises and takes care of any problems in their neighborhood that they control. While they and their crews are under the guidance of a Street Boss, they still have a good deal of freedom on how they run their crew. The capos can create some medium sized schemes but anything too large must have permission first from higher ups. They get a cut of money from their own crew which they must kick up some to the underboss. The capos represent their crews and can usually be present at initiation ceremonies, especially the more powerful capos. Each individual crew is named after its capo.(The capos in-game last name.) Soldiers: The muscle of the family. They are on the streets doing the daily activities of the mob. They must pay some of their earnings to their capo. Soldiers can make some small schemes but usually take place in medium sized ones orchestrated by their capo. Although soldiers are the lowest made members, they are still very powerful amongst society because they are made men. Once you have taken the oath of Omertà in an initiation ceremony, you become a made man, with the rank of soldier. Soldiers may have a small group of associates and wannabees that help them and give them cuts of money but it's not necessary or always constant. A soldier in a crew can be assigned by their capo as their right hand man. This simply means that they will likely have temporary leadership over the crew when the capo is in prison or takes a large leave of absence, and may aid the capo in making large decisions. Hardened soldiers who specialize in killing can be known as hitmen. The confidente di consigliere, or more simply, the Confidente, is an intelligent man that acts as a confidant to the consigliere, that is strongly involved in the family's businesses, finances, and relations with outsiders. Although these are sub ranks within the soldier rank, they have slightly more prestige over a regular soldier. Associates: People not yet made into the family but that work with them. These can be wannabees or future prospects for the family but also people that can't join such as non Italian criminals, crooked cops, judges and people of other crime groups. If they want to be made, they have to be sponsored and presented to the inner circle of the family by the particular crew they work with. Although associates aren't as protected by the mafia and are not made, they can sometimes still warrant some reasonable power and respect. To be made you must be of Italian descent (since I cannot verify this and want to give people a chance to have fun roleplaying you must atleast act and respect Italian culture, try watching some mobster movies or the sopranos if you are unsure or need a refresher). Mobsters must dress appropriately, atleast most of the time and during meetings (no silly ridiculous things like tight pants or pink cars, atleast not while doing mafia duties.) Made men are feared and untouchable by other made men and the public because of the extreme retaliation for going against them. They carry influence anywhere they go and even the police and government will not attack these well organized killers. Once a person is made, nobody within the family or outside can kill them. To be killed by someone within the family, they must have the permission of the inner circle (boss, underbosses, consigliere, enforcers) otherwise they will be killed themselves. If anyone from outside the family kills a made family member, they will be dealt with quickly. * To be part of cosa nostra is an honor and privilege as everyone will envy the power and respect that you carry. * Soldiers must kick up money to their capo who kicks up to the underboss who kicks up to the boss. The consigliere is paid by the boss or underboss separately. Oath: made members will have to take the oath of omerta In an initiation ceremony. You must always remain silent about the family and loyal. Hangouts: We are based in Ash Hill but have crews in other cities. I don't know how the map is exactly, or how in depth the business system is, but my goal is for the family to buy a few businesses on a street and turn the street into a little Italy. We can have a cafe or pizzeria there which we will operate out of. This area will have a large cosa nostra presence, with plenty of wise guys hanging around. If you have any question, message me or comment, we are opening our books for members. 1 pointHello everyone! My college professor from last year is a retired motor cop and I asked him about being a motor cop, and from what I was told it sounded interesting enough for me to want to eventually become one once I'm an officer. So, until then, will motor cops be added to the game? I've seen plenty on people talking about driving motorcycles around the map, and using them for motorcycle clubs, gangs, robberies, and so on. I'm sure motor cops will be added, as someone needs to do traffic, and patrol officers can't do it all the time since they need to respond to calls for service. Perhaps they could manage traffic out on highways or country roads outside city limits. Any info on this is appreciated, maybe I should interact with Twitter more than once in a blue moon... oops. Cheers!

1 point1. The Chief of Police will likely be only a Dev at the beginning or all the time on the official servers, however you likely won't be able to remove a ticket. 2. Not sure (Good question) 3. Probably both but not sure. (Good Question)

1 pointFrom my experience and seeing the size of the team I would expect some hair customization at launch with basic hair designs I.E. Buzzcut, Mohawk, Long Hair, Clean Cut along with basic colors like blonde, black, red. However I wouldn't expect a more in depth hair customization until other more prioritized systems to be flushed out first. I would expect a more in depth system 6-12 months after 2nd module drop, at least that's how I would plan it.

1 point(Ok so i'm pretty much making this to have fun and to get friendships and relationships etc. hashed out before the actual game comes out. Have fun.) Chandler Walker's eyes opened slowly as he groaned at the sound of his alarm clock. As he slams his fist down to turn it off, he jolts up realizing he forgot to do his chemistry homework for class. "ah crap. Mr. Remmington's gonna kill me. Again." He recently started his senior year in his new high school and he was definitely not off to a good start. Things weren't going his way. He wasn't the cool new kid or the athletic new kid. He was the ignored new kid. It was pretty annoying too. He put on his Hawaiian shirt, cargo pants, vans shoes and glasses, he was ready to go. Or not. He forgot his backpack. Now he was ready to go. Chandler grabbed his car keys and drove to school. "Wow day 4. I ponder of what amazing discoveries are headed my way." He said in a very sarcastic tone. The bell rang. He was late to class, again. As he hurried down the hall, the asshole, George Fitzgerald stopped him, pushed him around a little then socked him in the stomach so hard that the air was knocked right out of him. He then walked away laughing. As Chandler sat down on the floor, trying to recover, he talked to himself. "Wow. High school stereotypes become reality in senior year."

1 pointi wasn't really putting emphasis on throwing the money away, more just on looking at what you're buying, because he basically just gave money for something he doesn't even know he's buying.

1 point@Orbiit Modules - Alpha, Beta is the closest thing to the full game which the modules are stated as "Small" parts and are before the beta.
-
1 pointI don't disagree with you, but A monthly dev blog is better because they can write more and it won't be like; "We are working on this", week later; "We are still working on this and now this." etc. I think well the devs didn't have years to wait as they had not got the funding at the time of the kickstarter and so really they announced the project way too early (At least a year) which is why it is taking longer than initially expected. Also they had no choice to do the kickstarter then as they needed funding and so really it is not there fault that they are delaying the module as they didn't start working on the game until after announcement and so really it is to be expected that it would be delayed as they are a small team as well.
-
1 pointAnd 4: Use the search function on the forums before asking the same or alike questions over and over again. You're asking questions which have been replied to on several occasions. Even more: the questions you've been asking have been answered on the main website, which you actually payed through, without properly reading it (*le sigh*).
-
1 pointI agree, mostly. But in all honestly, I find it more than normal human behavior to start expecting more and more, the longer a wait takes. This is solely a psychological viewpoint. People's imagination goes running wild while thinking about the game, the upcoming TS module, how they can have their first try at character creation, app/studio customization, etc. I'd blame both the people and the rather slow development posts for this. I know we get a LOT of intel during the 3 live streams each week, but let's be honest. How many people know of these streams other than the regular forum users? So a weekly dev log might help with this. At least people will know what's actually in the game, confirmed or denied, they'll know for sure. And maybe's remain maybe's.

1 pointThough we've heard no word from @ThomasHetch on taxes or healthcare, shall we now move to Law Enforcement? Hetch may bring of previous topics as he wishes.
-
1 pointOkay, perfect! So we settle on free healthcare and doctor salaries through the government! Exactly what should those salaries be? I lean towards $94,000 a year.
-
1 pointI don't think you're understanding what I'm saying, let me rephrase! In real life when someone is ill they go to a doctor and get help! After that they are given a bill, if they have insurance the insurance pays for it but if not they have to! So we're going to give doctors about $100,000 salaries! Will we get rid of the hospital bills?
-
1 pointBy doctor fess I mean the bill! You said doctors get salaries and I understand that, but when you go to the hospital there is a hospital bill! Depending on your needs determines the cost! So is government paying doctors and paying these hospital bills?
-
1 pointIn my opinion.... HEALTHCARE: I strongly support a complete separation of healthcare and the state. I support the deregulation of the healthcare industry. I say this because if people are paying for health insurance and they don't get sick it's a waste of money, so let's not make healthcare plans! Instead, let doctors form their own plans with their patients that way it's more affordable and used when needed!
-
1 pointNow that time has passed and we've given plenty a chance to speak their peach it's time we move to helthcare!

1 pointNo disrespect, but for us to be successful and run proper campaigns we need 100% factual information. We're aware things are still in process but we need to know exactly what our impact is on government.
-

-
1 pointOh yes I knew that, I'm just emphasizing that we need the devs to answer these questions... or @LuckyDuck
-
1 pointThat confirms sickness, but what power do we have as far making healthcare? What's already lined up for us and what can we do for ourselves?
-
1 pointThis brings up a good point! We don't know what to do because we don't know the game! We discuss so many topics when some topics may not even matter! @Motown @HairyGrenade 1. What will the Governor be able to do? 2. What will taxes go towards? 3. Are certain salaries paid through taxes? 4. How long is a Governor's term? It's not impossible, but it's difficult for us to build valid platforms when we don't have clear vision! We need these questions answered!
-
1 pointThis should be relocated to the RP section, as this is a faction recruitment area, and not the sharing of character Stories.
-
1 pointI agree, I just love the RP aspect of this. Every officer is taking the job seriously, none of the "convicts" turn around and shoot anyone they listen and play the RP role. It is the most in depth RP ive seen in a game yet. I love the idea of running a speed trap or chasing the bad guy. It looks like an amazing time haha. As for the pure idiocrisy lol I could see that getting annoying. Cant wait for identity.

1 pointI hope so, because the crime scene must have evidence for the police, otherwise criminals can get away with murder far too easily.
-
1 pointWell I think that if the police are looking for a criminal they should set up check points like at the edge of the city where the "wanted" guy was last seen, so say a 2 - 5 mile radius or something. Thats would help them just search and maybe trap the guy in the city if he tries using a car after they are set up.
-
1 pointI am not sure if this has been touched on already, but i wanted to see you guys had any idea on how deep the criminal/law enforcement system would take on with the whole file manager system if it actually is implemented into the game which it will be but does anyone have any predictions?

1 pointFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) 1. How are Kickstarter backers different from website backers? There is only one difference between backer rewards for the Kickstarter and website. Kickstarter backers will receive a unique in-game hat with the Kickstarter logo. Website backers receive a hat with the Identity logo. No new content in the future will ever display either of these logos. 2. Many people are confused on what the game is about. Would you mind telling us what your vision for the game is? Is the game more about Cops vs Robbers, or a balance between all the available paths? Identity is a cops and robbers game at heart, but it is a life simulator in so many other ways. We’re catering to role-play in a way that is possibly the first of its kind. Players have the freedom to pursue careers that will impact the player economy in their own unique way. Become a taxi driver, deliver goods to player-owned businesses, fight fires, save lives, argue a case in criminal court, or just hold out your hand and beg for money. Find, or steal your ‘identity’! 3. What can you tell us about the world? World size? Player limit? We anticipate that the playable world size will be 200 square kilometers, or 77 square miles in comparison. This means that the whole map is 14 km wide, and would take about an hour and a half to walk across. We hope to support up to 300 players (or more!) per server. 4. Can you expand on the professions? We know there will be cops, but what types of jobs will be available for civilians? Will they be able to create their own businesses? Create their own items? etc. Also, Medics and Firefighters? Players can choose from a wide range of professions, including the ability to become a Firefighter, EMT, Taxi Driver, Farmer, Bounty Hunter, Fisherman, Logger, Miner, Delivery Driver and even a business entrepreneur. The options available to you as a player get more specific than this even, but we aren’t yet ready to expand on the full list. The direction of development is prone to change, and we don’t want to promise anything that might change down the pipeline. Business ownership allows players to own factories and small business, giving them control over what items are manufactured and sold. Items created by a factory must be delivered to their destination city where store owners in that area can decide what quantity and type (formal wear, casual, punk outfits, weapons, etc.) they wish to list in their business. Some default items are always available in all stores for when market demand is not met. 5. How will death be handled? When a player dies, some items such as the money the player is carrying at that time, will be dropped on the ground and will become accessible to anyone in the area that wishes to take it. Clothing items will never be dropped. We have decided that a player’s character appearance in a social game like Identity is important. You will always look the way you decide your character to look. If the player is not resusitated by an EMT or teammate, the player is then prompted to respawn at the location of their last sync (house, apartment, city) Private servers have some control over what types of items players will drop on death, if any at all. 6. Can you expand on how the housing system will work? Size and availability of apartments and houses? Players can choose to own or rent housing in Identity, while apartments can also be shared with a friend or roommate depending on the size of the property. For instance, two friends, or a married couple can choose to purchase a 2 bedroom apartment where they both can live comfortably with each other. Apartments and houses are fully customizable, allowing players to place furniture and objects anywhere in the room. Home-owners can invite other players into their apartment or house at any time. Players cannot access another players home without an invitation. 7. Will there be any specific safe areas where people can go AFK or sit and socialize without being killed or robbed? There are safe zones within certain types of buildings in Identity. Metal detectors serve to preserve immersion, and will temporarily remove any weapons upon entry, allowing all players in the area to safely relax, socialize and meet new friends. These safe zones are known to us as “Sub-Hubs” or social gathering points that reflect on the lifestyle theme of their environment (Biker Bar, Business club, Bum alley, etc.). While many of these areas can only be accessed by law-abiding citizens, some Sub-Hubs are neutral and can be entered by any player on the map. Few areas are designated gathering points for active criminals looking for the right crime of opportunity, or new friends to help them plan their next heist. 8. How will player identification work in game? Will names appear above players heads? If so, at what distances will they be seen? As our design stands right now, the official servers do display names over heads within certain ranges. Some things like masks and balaclavas can affect this. Moreover, private servers have an option where they can hide names from all players unless greeted. By this I mean you won’t see the name over another player until they perform an emote action, after which you’ll always see their name.
