The voice in Identity currently does work in all the ways you've described, with the exception of character breathing. It's difficult to hear someone breathing near you unless they're very winded in real life. Walls and such will block sound, and even the material of the wall or object affects the impact on sound degradation.

Don't forget the stress system prevent mass slaughter on public servers and also while guns will be expensive and rare for big guns. If you die you will lose them unlike GTA where you can carry all the weapons you bought and when you die you still have them.

Wow, what a month. It's been busy here at Asylum as usual, so let's get down to the interesting stuff! As expected, our current focus is on the Town Square so that we can get it out to you as soon as possible. We're finalising the interior of the library and art gallery (shared within one building) and adding polish to the environment. Once the clothing store interior is complete following that, the Town Square environment is ready to go. We'll continuously be adding more art after release though; specifically for house furnishings, decorations and clothing. In addition to the environment art, Miroslav (character artist) has been creating all sorts of hair assets which allow us to show hair appropriately when wearing a hat or helmet. This is a big task for him as it means making variations to match the hat options for each length of hair, but in the end it'll ensure your hair always looks as you'd expect when wearing headgear. Hair under a hat; work in progress Right next to the clothing shop you'll find a bicycle store where you can get a sneak preview of some of the bikes you'll be able to ride around in the full Identity release. We showed you a bicycle work in progress last blog post and now you can see the finished result of that below. This image will give you a rough idea of the detail level you'll see in Identity's vehicles. Ridable bicycle With more final systems coming online for the Town Square release, we now have functioning phones. Each player will start with a cellphone, although you'll be able to upgrade it with three mobile OS options available. The phone OS' each have a unique and interesting style. Characters also have a designated phone number assigned when they're created; you'll be able to get a custom number for a fee. These phones work just as you'd expect. You're able to dial up another player and speak with voice remotely. Businesses can even get a business line which, when called, will contact a member of that corporation who's online. Shot from an internal system test: advertising While the art of the billboard above isn't final, it gives you a very good idea of what you can expect in Identity for advertising. That's right, you can really publish messages around the world through billboards and other means. Corporations and those running for government office can purchase billboard space to help get their message out. You'll select a graphical template from a large list of options and then attach a brief message or other customization to make it your own. These billboards can also be moderated by the server operators. There are other similar advertising systems, too. For example digital road signs can be made to show custom messages by the current government. We can't wait to show you more of Identity, and we'll soon have that opportunity with the release of an overhauled website. Those current pledge packages are about to go away forever, and some of the rewards won't be available for purchase again after the new website changes. Also, follow us on our Twitch channel if you'd like to stop in and ask questions of the developers. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you'll find a few developers playing a random game from 4pm EST to 5pm EST. Ask any questions and they'll be happy to answer on stream. Catch some of Identity's developers hard at work and see how they make the magic happen: we'll be providing development streaming dates and times on Twitter, soon! -- John VanderZwet

From the most recent Dev Blog, number seven, it states that they're currently putting the finishing touches on the game (They're finishing the clothes and coffee shop). While I understand that it might be nice to release the game now, but would you rather wait another week or have to play with a glitchy map... give them time. They do update us, just not as frequently as everyone so deeply wants. How often do we get updates from bigger gaming comapnies like Treyarch? not every day... not every week... maybe once a month. Which is way less than what we already have. The developers stream every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday and answer questions, show parts of the game. I just say that we stop complaining once and for all and be patient, because complaining about not getting enough updates isn't gonna change anything. Has it so far? over the past 3+ months people have been complaining? no... it hasn't. So there's no point. I know this one post won't stop the ignorant people that continue to complain they're not receiving enough updates... but come on, this is getting to a very ridiculous point. I want the game out just as much as the rest of you, but you don't see me complaining on every forum post related to the release. Sorry if I offended anyone, you've been offending me for months ~ SummitsEdge EDIT: This in no way was supposed to act as a rant, banter, or hate post. I'm simply posting relevant information towards the claims other forum users have been making.

This will not be possible, because the dev's will not release a server software to host a server at home (or at your own VPS, Root Server, etc.)
  7. 2 points
private servers are the solution for that (just with gta, there some good solutions like FiveM there). private servers will most likely get you banned if you do something like that

I think there will be a GPS in the game, well in cars there is as I asked about bus' and Motown said there would be a GPS with a way to create your own routes on said bus'.

Hi there, my name is Sarican. I am an immigrant looking for a new life in a new country, I have with me my passport, $1000 cash and a hat! Oh and I managed to aquire a rusty car on arrival to get me to my destination. I am hoping to take my lorry driving license to be able to become a delivery man while I train as a police officer to help battle the crime within our country. Like many others I will be needing friends and contacts in all different trades, who knows when your car might break down and dont have enough to go to a major garage to fix it. Thats where i'll be hoping to make some friends to be able to offer my services or products in exchange for yours. I hope to get to know many of you on our journey to the full game release, see you soon!

I remember them mentioning that you will have the ability to produce drugs and then sell them to an NPC drug dealer for distribution but I'm not sure if it will change or not since ideas evolve over time during game development. This is another aspect of the game I'd like to see the results of.

Hi and welcome to the forums! I've only been here a few days myself but can agree with you that the forums are pretty active which is a very positive sign in regards to the interest this in this new genre of gaming. That's a good choice you have made. I am still trying to decide what I want to eventually do but I'm thinking of maybe running for Governor once I get myself established in game. Looking forward to seeing you out there in Identity!

Hey there, Everyone understands that you or some people think it is not happening but everyone here is here because they think the opposite. Firstly I would like to explain that the devs would not give out a refund to those who asked for one if they had doubts as for time or if they had personal issues. Secondly, the devs say that if you have doubts Please hold off from pledging because they would rather them not have doubts before pledging and encourage people that they should wait before doing so. It is your opinion about what you think and well if others believe in the project then it is their belief. No one is forcing anyone to pledge into the game and that is the pledger's decision alone. Anyways, I hope that you eventually change your mind and be sure to wait for more content or the full game before buying the game again or not. It is purely your decision to do so but maybe your doubts will go away once the 1st module releases. Best regards, LuckyDuck. @dashingzowie11 Hello and Welcome to the community! Please enjoy yourself here while also feel free to ask questions and check out the 2 FAQ's as they provide great information. The 2 FAQ's can be found linked in my signature. What will you be doing in the full game? Best regards, LuckyDuck.

Should I be worried roleplay is one of the lowest..

I'm glad that the devs have thought a lot about this. I think that the devs are very aware of the chaos that is moving around the map in GTA and are trying to create a more realistic, and less killing heavy game. GTA just has criminals, Identity has criminals, citizens, government officials, and police, they will definitely make sure that everyone can play their role, and move around the map.

Hi Vito sorry for such a late reply, but personally I want to become a business man. Possibly open up my own clothing line. Possibly do other side jobs that are more "under the table" if you get what I mean. haha

My dude, don't you worry your little heart, I'm informed but when was the last time you were? If you've followed as close as you preach, then you'd have seen me around. Which would imply I'm well informed on such a trivial subject. Which would further imply that you were able to pick up on OPs need for speculation due to lack of hard detail that we actually don't know because Devs don't hold their word. So Bruv the next time you feel the need to educate me on something you think you know, don't because no one here actually knows the game machanics and how something will work. I do appreciate your white knight skills doe, keep your chin up and keep everyone in line, Gotham needs you Harvey.

Hello @Villasenor, Unfortunately, players will not own or operate vehicle repair shops themselves, but they can take a job working for one to earn money, and be notified of nearby vehicle accidents, as well as recieve calls from players requesting roadside assistance. Those who wish to tune their vehicles will be required to visit a tuning garage to upgrade parts of their vehicle. Yes, there will be a tow truck for players occupied by the mechanic job to provide roadside assistance. Some issues may be resolved at the location of the incident, while others may require the truck to tow the disabled vehicle back to a garage to be serviced. As they would like to make it as realistic as possible, they really should implement an GPS system, if not already done. A GPS on your mobile, or maybe even a GPS in your car would play a big part of finding around on the map. I would be happy to use a GPS rather than opening the map and set a waypoint, just like GTA V. Too unrealistic..

Hey there, Nice suggestion, however; There will be a driving license, a gun license but likely no work visas or no trucking license. You will have to do a tutorial for a driving license and that license covers trucks also. A gun license has not been taken into detail of how you wold acquire it but it likely is the same as the driving license one. For the the visas, they are not needed because when you buy/ pledge for the game, you are purchasing your passport to the Identity world and so you are a citizen and not an immigrant. I believe that it could add extra RP but it is pointless for visas when everyone is a citizen. Hope this helps. Best regards, LuckyDuck.

I don't think I have heard anything specific about either question. However having named roads and numbered houses and perhaps something like google maps on your ingame phone would be pretty cool

What are you talking about?! LOL They have DISCUSSED this multiple times in different Q&A's on YouTube, Discord, and other places. Instead of making silly accusations, that are quite untrue, maybe you should do a little checking around the internet. Even on this forum here, as I'm sure it's been discussed, probably as much as the infamous "Will it be on console?" posts that kept popping up. If you own your own farm land then you can grow your own drugs, or you can find a plot, big enough in the wilderness, and hope no one comes along to take your stash while you wait for it to grow. There will be ways of making Meth in a mobile home or something in that sense, you have to park while your cookin' it up though. Can't be moving around the map and cooking Meth, unfortunately. I'm sure there will be ways of making all kinds of drugs. As far as HOW you make money, with your drugs after you get them ready for sale. They haven't delved too much into detail on anything yet. But I'd imagine you have to harvest your crop, process it to a marketable form, then make you illegal sale. But like any illegal activity, there will be law enforcement out there that can ruin your venture, and poop on your plan. There is a twitch channel that they have and do go on constantly, I'm sure they'll humor questions there as well. All we can do is hope that things come together smoothly.

As golden pancake said, the module will be the foundation of the game itself. The town module will be the building blocks for the other modules. It is taking awhile because they want it to be a very good building block. They want the foundation of the house to be good so it doesn't collapse when they add all the walls, floors, and furniture.

Identity's development has been moving at a pace we've never experienced in the past. With added full-time programming and art talent, we've been able to produce more content in a shorter time than expected. With all of the base features of Town Square in place, we've now been building up the supporting systems; the menu interfaces, server selection systems, character creation and more are well underway now. You'll get a good preview of the character customization soon! Ridable bicycle; work in progress Some exciting progress is also being seen beyond the Town Square! Our vehicle systems are starting to get fleshed out. We found the integrated Unreal Engine vehicle subsystems to be inadequate for the realism and fidelity we seek, so Identity will run on an entirely rebuilt vehicle physics engine. With this you can expect extremely realistic handling of bicycles, cars, vans, motorcycles, semi-trucks and more. We've got the Twitch Game development is an exciting career that many gamers aspire for. Just a couple of weeks ago we had test run streaming our development live on Twitch. In our first stream, our character artist Miroslav added different eyebrow varieties to Identity character head models. These are some of the eyebrow options you'll be able to choose when creating your characters; get an inside look at the work which goes into even a small detail as this. While the task Miroslav had at the time might not have been the most exciting, we're in the process of setting up a schedule for very regular streams from a variety of development departments. Keep an eye on Twitter and Facebook for stream time announcements. Click the preview below to watch the recorded stream. It runs at just under an hour in duration. Identity's first Dev Stream: Miroslav's Eyebrows You can find our Twitch channel at Twitch.tv/IdentityRPG. Follow us there to get notified when an Identity developer starts streaming! Path to the Town Square Town Square early revision; work in progress A lot of Town Square work has been accomplished since the last dev blog! From interface to animations and more feature polish, the Town Square is shaping up into a genuinely interesting social environment. We've been making everything we can in the environment interactive. If it looks like it would have some sort of purpose in reality, we're making it useful (or at least entertaining) in Identity, too! Grab a newspaper for the latest happenings, toss a coin into the fountain or grab a can of soda from the machine. Visual dynamics have been added as well. Simple things bring immersion to the environment. The clocks on buildings and towers show the real in-game time, the cinema marquee sign shows the movies playing with real times (which can be adjusted by owners of community servers in retail Identity) and more. We're making the Identity environment, and thus that in Town Square, feel alive and interactive. A hotel lobby at night -- John VanderZwet

The post title says Belgium @Arlmar so if you don't speak the language posted here, leave it for those that do. Identity forums aren't prohibited to English speakers only, we'd welcome all people from all cultures and nationalities. Sure they'll attempt to speak/respond in English to you, but for forum topics they create for players who speak the same language is a place for them to communicate in their mother tongue.
