11 pointsWow, what a month. It's been busy here at Asylum as usual, so let's get down to the interesting stuff! As expected, our current focus is on the Town Square so that we can get it out to you as soon as possible. We're finalising the interior of the library and art gallery (shared within one building) and adding polish to the environment. Once the clothing store interior is complete following that, the Town Square environment is ready to go. We'll continuously be adding more art after release though; specifically for house furnishings, decorations and clothing. In addition to the environment art, Miroslav (character artist) has been creating all sorts of hair assets which allow us to show hair appropriately when wearing a hat or helmet. This is a big task for him as it means making variations to match the hat options for each length of hair, but in the end it'll ensure your hair always looks as you'd expect when wearing headgear. Hair under a hat; work in progress Right next to the clothing shop you'll find a bicycle store where you can get a sneak preview of some of the bikes you'll be able to ride around in the full Identity release. We showed you a bicycle work in progress last blog post and now you can see the finished result of that below. This image will give you a rough idea of the detail level you'll see in Identity's vehicles. Ridable bicycle With more final systems coming online for the Town Square release, we now have functioning phones. Each player will start with a cellphone, although you'll be able to upgrade it with three mobile OS options available. The phone OS' each have a unique and interesting style. Characters also have a designated phone number assigned when they're created; you'll be able to get a custom number for a fee. These phones work just as you'd expect. You're able to dial up another player and speak with voice remotely. Businesses can even get a business line which, when called, will contact a member of that corporation who's online. Shot from an internal system test: advertising While the art of the billboard above isn't final, it gives you a very good idea of what you can expect in Identity for advertising. That's right, you can really publish messages around the world through billboards and other means. Corporations and those running for government office can purchase billboard space to help get their message out. You'll select a graphical template from a large list of options and then attach a brief message or other customization to make it your own. These billboards can also be moderated by the server operators. There are other similar advertising systems, too. For example digital road signs can be made to show custom messages by the current government. We can't wait to show you more of Identity, and we'll soon have that opportunity with the release of an overhauled website. Those current pledge packages are about to go away forever, and some of the rewards won't be available for purchase again after the new website changes. Also, follow us on our Twitch channel if you'd like to stop in and ask questions of the developers. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you'll find a few developers playing a random game from 4pm EST to 5pm EST. Ask any questions and they'll be happy to answer on stream. Catch some of Identity's developers hard at work and see how they make the magic happen: we'll be providing development streaming dates and times on Twitter, soon! -- John VanderZwet

4 pointsAlright, we need a release date, especially the people that bought $30+ packages, I see that the game is being "polished" right now, but without a guarantee, this could just lead to another long ass delay. I understand it doesn't take 2 days to make a perfect game and such, but this game has been in development for ages now. I speak for a lot of others when I say that the wait needs to end, and we need something.

3 pointsWow what an aweasome job team this is some good car police thank you motown. it got leaked and one of the staff telld me about it soo cool
-
2 pointsTBH i kinda agree, i would actually prefer to see the world around me improve by the updates. experience the hard work going into the game. why not block the library off, release, update and open library when ready. But im cool with waiting too, w.e.

2 pointsAssuming he has a normal tablet like every other, it should work. Tablets just move your cursor so if he wants to use it to draw ingame it'll be the same as him using his mouse.
-
2 pointsThere must be one bedroom for each resident. so you and two other friends will require a three bedroom house/apartment to all live in the same place. otherwise there will be a permissions list for letting other people in, however I have no idea what permissions that actually allows once inside or if it works when the owner is offline.
-
2 pointsI think I'd giggle too much if my character jumped under the sheets and the bed started trembling and almost jumping up and down while my character's and her partner's limbs are randomly coming out from under the sheets, hearts raining down on the pillows constantly... I don't really see the need to implement the "blurred out" sex scenes, they'd have to pretty long to roleplay through them or you'd have to constantly repeat them to keep the scene you're voicing going... If they added 3D sex animations the game would quickly turn into a porn-game. And I wouldn't have a life there since I have a feminine voice. I'm all +1 for cuddling in bed animations and generally kissing animations, it should be fairly easy to roleplay sexy scenes when your character are cuddling in bed in their underwear but it'd still look PG. Just not sound PG. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

2 pointsWe've had a lot of questions about sex in Identity, and we don't really have many reservations against it, other than the possibility that Identity could be banned from sites like Twitch, Youtube, and potentially from Steam. Sex in Identity could add an intimate element to the game, but it just isn't worth the risk of losing exposure over this single feature.

1 pointDisregard this post, and it's contents. I'm working on a new character concept. Which hopefully will be much cooler! While, I was always aware there would be no FBI available in the game since before I made these. I never intended to take it as far as I did. Anyway, thanks for all the great RP. And I'll hope to see you all in the Social Module on March, 21st! (Click the images to enlarge.) Out-Of-Character Please note, this is an In-character document, available only to the police force. However, I don't mind if any outside sources should get their hands on this, and possibly use it against my character. It's all a part of the fun and games, and any good RP story needs something dramatic. I would also really love some feedback on these documents. Please know I reserve the right to change these documents at any time, without notice. Feel free to post here, or PM me with any questions. You can also view the whole high-quality album here. Thank you!

1 pointHey there fellow people! I'm here to give my opinion on this. I don't want any argument and I ain't here to complain as I don't really care about when it will go out or whatever, I got all my time. I'm a bit disappointed with their interaction with us though. What about those weekly tweet answers we used to get? And all those videos we got promised? I mean.. I've been working on a game for two months now, I'm a one man team, I work on modelling/programming/texturing and much more everyday and i still got the time to make two 20 mins videos to present all the gameplay mechanics and interfaces we've made (2 months and we got game mechanics and interfaces ready for final release) so I'd just like to know.. Is it pure laziness or is it just that you guys REALLY have nothing to show that could be intereting? I personally released a video on test gameplay mechanics and people loved it so.. Yeah. What do you guys think? I'm still hyped for the game, don't you worry.

1 pointHi all! New UK citizen buying my passport this week and can't wait to make some new friends in town, im thinking i may go down the paramedic route, with a side of business , or maybe even a cop. I am excited by what the potential if this game has and as a (old) second life player and a lover of The sims this is the perfect combination!
-
1 pointYeah, I think they are a bit low and I may have to tweak them but because they are low it makes it more affordable to pay for healthcare and those who physically can't possibly enlist in a free healthcare program?
-
1 pointThanks for the support! The big reason that I believe that citizens should have to pay for healthcare is that if citizens do pay then that is more money to invest into our police and army which in turn keeps them safe.
-
1 point1 month is way too long a wait for something that should have been released since late 2016, I didnt pay the $30 to sit here and watch them constantly say that they are just tying ends up and it will be released a week later, then a week later, then a month later, then almost a whole year
-
1 pointI agree with Dadofmad, why not just release it now, block it off or leave it the way it is until they finish and update. A lot of people who be satisfied with that rather than wait longer.
-
1 pointWow I agree with everything except that weed also should be legal Edit Didn't quite get that you want people to pay for medical services, it's not a high price, but I think it should be totally free like here in Scandinavia
-
1 pointI feel like this i kinda just an alpha (you can call it a beta if you want), but we are the testers, and therefore I feel like they could publish anything, just anything so people just could get their hand on it - I don't think this first module where its only possible to socialise will be that interesting, but it would be more exciting if there were recent updates with various improvements.

1 pointHey @BlackyBootyCrust, are you talking about a release date for the game itself or for the first module? For the whole game its too early to say a release date because the modules haven't been released yet and the beta is far away too. I think we will get a release date during beta period, maybe a bit before beta release. Regarding the Town Square Module you already said that they are doing polishing work right now. But there is also the interiour of the library that has to be done. So its not just polish work. We all want the Town Square Module as fast as possible of course, because nothing is more cool to finaly get a piece of the game to play. We just have to wait. But i think its not too far away Greetings -Radack

1 point1. I don't know if there is a radio on bus' and also no you cannot download / import / upload playlists from anything. 2. You will have to be a in a business / company to be able to operate / have the bus' as assets. 3. I am sure there will be exterior work you can do but interior I am not sure. 4. If you want to drive legally then you have to take a tutorial which acts as a test. 5. To get what job? If the business owner wants to give a interview then yes, on a career no but a tutorial will act as a qualification for becoming a cop.

1 pointat this point i'm not losing interest in the game because of the lacking gender expression features, i'm losing interest because this community (like most online gaming communities) is so fucking saturated with ugly old white men who make fun of trans people to feel better about their receding hairlines. i'm pretty new to this type of online game, but would it be possible to form a server/community that specifically blacklisted bigots? lmao because i am fresh out of spoons to have to prove my fucking gender to someone named "the orgazoid" whose main goal in this game is to spearhead an escorting service lmao
-
1 pointy'all are conflating sex with gender and to be honest i didn't expect anything else from a gaming community. no, that's not biology, that's you regurgitating false ideas of gender identity. your sex assigned at birth is determined by your chromosomes (aside from intersex people), and your gender is how you identify, be that as a man or a woman or something else, and has absolutely nothing to do with your genitalia. i'm really sorry if that's too much science for you to handle, despite this being an extremely basic biological and psychological concept. but the communities you exist in that egg on your tired "i identify as..." and "safe space" jokes will probably never allow you to stop being bigoted.
-
1 pointI identity as a chcolate covered diamnond encrusted airsoft gun that fires potatoes at a speed of 1 billion RPM. If you can't handle that, you're a bigot. Leave me alone in my safe space. Reeeeeeeeeeee.

1 pointDo you mean can you upgrade it in the game? If that is what you mean then, I believe you will have to buy a complete new apartment in the game and no option to upgrade it.
-
1 point
-
1 pointI do not think you can upgrade it in 2 rooms, because the structure of the apartments is not modular (from what I read ..) I imagine that you will have to buy / rent a new one. I am 99% sure, but to confirm
-
1 pointYeah, I kind of feel that you didn't put any game which was even close to this game. Even PERP on gmod and DarkRP is closer than some of those options. Also ArmA 3 Altis life is the closest than all of them.
-
1 pointShould it be possible to create your own clothing? As in, design your own unique look with colours and new brands using a seperate executable file? Sort of like The Sims World Creator/Clothing editing? Thanks for any responses, Austin.
-
1 pointThere are two genders. These are defined by whether you have a XX or XY chromosomes. That's not me being a bigot, that's just biology love. This is why this game has either a "Male" or "female" option when creating a character.
-
1 pointWhere's the furry wall customization? Definitely needs to be implemented! When I roll into my crib turnt I need to just stroke the furry wall.
-
1 pointQ&A is always available! Even juicy personal questions!

1 pointWriting a one paragraph blog about what you are working on every day is something anyone can do no matter how busy. I don't want someone to spend an hour writing, I would just like a few sentences about something that you can share. Sure I can watch twitch sometimes or watch the video replays, but you get 90% gameplay 10% information about identity and the streams are an hour long.
-
1 pointI agree, they said they were finishing up some stuff with clothing store interior and in will be good to go but they said we would get videos and we have barely gotten any new screen shots. also the progress bar has been on 89% forever
-
1 pointThe amount of people finding pineapple on pizza right is too damn high

1 pointI support this. It's kinda mindblowing to me the devs aren't making all clothing/hairstyles fit on all player models to begin with. It seems like at this point, that should be a given, though I know gamer culture can be slow to let go of its more regressive tendencies. As far as profile options go, even if they stick with just "male" and "female" character models, it wouldn't be too difficult to offer male, female, other, and refer not to disclose as descriptive options. While doubtless some of these charming folks making negative commentary here might get upset, I think they'll find there'd be nothing stopping them from choosing both a male character model and description. Why, they could even choose not to wear dresses, if that's their cup of tea! Of course, some of them might say other players not conforming strictly to binary gender roles breaks their immersion, to which I have a simple reply - get out more.
-
1 pointNot all customisation's will even be in by the first module, they said that all customisation's will be in the game by full release and that is why progress in the Beta will be wiped for full release because the devs don't want anyone to miss out the full potential of customisation's.
-
1 pointI feel like this suggestion, if implemented, will not only tremendously add to character development but promote diversity characterized by the individuals that play and how we portray ourselves as individuals in the provided environment, which is something the dev team has emphasized as being one of their utmost prominent goals. In short, it would be a shame if this feature is not met by the first module release. @cole97 Although you're considering withdrawing from your initial donation, it is probably fair to mention we are talking about a very small dev team with a rather restricted budget. Games like GTA, Battlefield, and other significant brands cost tens of millions if not more than a hundred million to make! It's insane this tiny team of highly skilled devs have been able to accomplish so much in such a little amount of time and on their arguably rather feeble budget! However don't let me get in your way, if you're comfortable waiting for the initial module release to support the game then it's definitely understandable.

1 pointHello Identity Backers, Thank you for pledging towards the development of Identity! Identity's development is going great thanks to the support of people like you, but systems like these take a lot of manpower and resources to create. Identity has an awesome community behind it, but when more people know about what we're creating and our budget grows from pledges, we can not only work faster but we can do more, too. If you're as excited to play Identity as we are making it, help spread the word. The gaming industry has needed a game like Identity for too long; let's make it great together!

1 pointI believe it would be a great idea to have a personal vehicle, like a longboard, that doesn't require a license. I know there's bicycles, but I would really enjoy seeing longboards with downhill races and possibly even a skate park. Just a though, but I want to see what everyone thinks!

1 pointTo answer a few of the questions here, there is a large variety of standard food items you'll find in cafes and restaurants, as well as player-made food. Different sorts of food and drink will "fill" you up more than others and faster. Some may even have side-effects. Generally, good player-created food will be the most efficient for consumption. You'll also be able to create your own bars, cafes and restaurants. I'm not sure how lucrative they'll be to own, but a player food-place could turn into a good social point. There will be three places in the Town square module that you can sample food and alcohol: there's a bar/lounge in the hotel, a cafe as well as the cinema. As for the questions concerning a hunger mechanic, there is such a system although you can't die from starvation. There will be some penalties, though. Food consumption won't be forced upon you enough to be an annoyance, but you'll want to grab a bite here and there.
