15 pointsWow, what a month. It's been busy here at Asylum as usual, so let's get down to the interesting stuff! As expected, our current focus is on the Town Square so that we can get it out to you as soon as possible. We're finalising the interior of the library and art gallery (shared within one building) and adding polish to the environment. Once the clothing store interior is complete following that, the Town Square environment is ready to go. We'll continuously be adding more art after release though; specifically for house furnishings, decorations and clothing. In addition to the environment art, Miroslav (character artist) has been creating all sorts of hair assets which allow us to show hair appropriately when wearing a hat or helmet. This is a big task for him as it means making variations to match the hat options for each length of hair, but in the end it'll ensure your hair always looks as you'd expect when wearing headgear. Hair under a hat; work in progress Right next to the clothing shop you'll find a bicycle store where you can get a sneak preview of some of the bikes you'll be able to ride around in the full Identity release. We showed you a bicycle work in progress last blog post and now you can see the finished result of that below. This image will give you a rough idea of the detail level you'll see in Identity's vehicles. Ridable bicycle With more final systems coming online for the Town Square release, we now have functioning phones. Each player will start with a cellphone, although you'll be able to upgrade it with three mobile OS options available. The phone OS' each have a unique and interesting style. Characters also have a designated phone number assigned when they're created; you'll be able to get a custom number for a fee. These phones work just as you'd expect. You're able to dial up another player and speak with voice remotely. Businesses can even get a business line which, when called, will contact a member of that corporation who's online. Shot from an internal system test: advertising While the art of the billboard above isn't final, it gives you a very good idea of what you can expect in Identity for advertising. That's right, you can really publish messages around the world through billboards and other means. Corporations and those running for government office can purchase billboard space to help get their message out. You'll select a graphical template from a large list of options and then attach a brief message or other customization to make it your own. These billboards can also be moderated by the server operators. There are other similar advertising systems, too. For example digital road signs can be made to show custom messages by the current government. We can't wait to show you more of Identity, and we'll soon have that opportunity with the release of an overhauled website. Those current pledge packages are about to go away forever, and some of the rewards won't be available for purchase again after the new website changes. Also, follow us on our Twitch channel if you'd like to stop in and ask questions of the developers. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you'll find a few developers playing a random game from 4pm EST to 5pm EST. Ask any questions and they'll be happy to answer on stream. Catch some of Identity's developers hard at work and see how they make the magic happen: we'll be providing development streaming dates and times on Twitter, soon! -- John VanderZwet

3 pointsHey there fellow people! I'm here to give my opinion on this. I don't want any argument and I ain't here to complain as I don't really care about when it will go out or whatever, I got all my time. I'm a bit disappointed with their interaction with us though. What about those weekly tweet answers we used to get? And all those videos we got promised? I mean.. I've been working on a game for two months now, I'm a one man team, I work on modelling/programming/texturing and much more everyday and i still got the time to make two 20 mins videos to present all the gameplay mechanics and interfaces we've made (2 months and we got game mechanics and interfaces ready for final release) so I'd just like to know.. Is it pure laziness or is it just that you guys REALLY have nothing to show that could be intereting? I personally released a video on test gameplay mechanics and people loved it so.. Yeah. What do you guys think? I'm still hyped for the game, don't you worry.

2 pointsWhere's the furry wall customization? Definitely needs to be implemented! When I roll into my crib turnt I need to just stroke the furry wall.

2 pointsHonestly I feel like 90% of the population of this game is going to be males, just like in any other game. So marriage might be kind of awkward, especially if it's a male playing as a female character, that would be really creepy when it come to marriage lol Unless gay marriage is a thing.

1 pointWe at Asylum Entertainment are very excited to tell you, our community, how you will be able to get into the game sooner than you think! Identity's modules are small portions of Identity which will be released before Identity is ready for the world. This lets you experience part of the game months sooner than otherwise possible. The first module you'll be getting your hands on is a social environment which we've called Town Square. The Town Square will include all major social components, and will allow you to finally create and customize your characters. You can meet hundreds of new people and explore several cool features of the peaceful city life. For more details on Town Square, check out the modules page on the Identity website. Following the release of Town Square you'll experience SWAT player versus player action and eventually vehicle races of all sorts. We'll be bringing you more information on the modules as they progress!

1 pointIt would be totally awesome if you would add extra Crime Jobs such as Bank Robber, Identity theif, Conman/women, Hacker, Burglar, Drug Dealer/runner/Lord, Car Theif, Chopshop Owner, Hitman/women or maybe just a regular old goon for hirer. Along with this could be the law counter parts such as prosecutor, lawyer, judge, court bailiff, jury, corrections officer, bail bonds, bounty hunter, private and public investigators, animal control, process server and probation/parole officer.

1 pointHey, I think this would be a very nice gesture for all of us who supported this great project financially. Some instant "reward", which brings at the same time no disadvantage for users who didn't get involved financially. What do you guys think of this? It's pretty common in other projects like this.

1 pointSo, Ive been thinking of different things and how to go about running them AND ways to do business that... may or may not draw less heat from the authorities. I was curious on the idea of Judges and Lawyers? Ways of going about making LEGAL in-game contracts. Things of that nature. Is this going to be a thing? Now I am also not sure if anyone brought up these kinds of ideas so sorry if I just repeated something already put down.

1 pointThis is actually a huge issue, to be honest. This game is marketing itself as being able to do "anything that you could do in real life," so I find the fact that identifying as a gender outside of male or female isn't possible and "likely won't be possible" to be extremely problematic. Even when the creators were asked simply if male characters could wear female clothing, they said this feature likely "won't make it into Identity before launch. Possibly not at all." This is pretty shitty, considering you can fucking browse Facebook on a simulated laptop in your apartment, or literally anything else, but male-identifying characters can't wear heels?? I was surprised by how amazing the graphics were in the trailer until it came to the characters, so I really hope character expression/clothing is not just an afterthought. I'd like to be able to build my character's body and gender expression to reflect my own irl. Erasing the existence of queer identities in the game--and further, being apathetic to concerns around it--is really making me kinda wish I didn't spend my money on this already. Learning about this game made me REALLY excited, but then I was signing up and was prompted with "male or female." SUGGESTION: Listen to the people paying money to fund this project and incorporate queer identities into the character creation and expression aspects of the game. Additionally, after scrolling through some of these forum topics and realizing what this community is like, I'd like to add that I don't need any greasy 4chan neckbeards coming in here to call me an SJW or whatever. I'm literally just a queer person asking for equal treatment by the same game you want to enjoy so that we can be who we want in the game. The creators were saying in the trailer that you could play as anyone you want, so I don't see why I can't play the game as a non-binary person.

1 pointMaybe this will help? http://www.identityrpg.com/info/corp/ As of right now that is most of the information on how businesses will work.
-
1 pointYeah, I kind of feel that you didn't put any game which was even close to this game. Even PERP on gmod and DarkRP is closer than some of those options. Also ArmA 3 Altis life is the closest than all of them.

1 pointYou're obviously such a well liked, and positive figure here on the forums. Keep it up buddy!

1 pointAnd Question about trucks, Q: I know trunk space is confirmed, but if you have a truck with a bed will the trunk stuff be visible and/or be able to literally drop items in the bed and drive without them flopping out?

1 pointThanks! I tried to look for this kind of topic in the forum, but it seems I was looking for it in wrong place. But now I know wheel support is confirmed.

1 pointHey there, This type of thing will likely come when the forum has it's makeover which is due soon. I am certain that you will get your backer Tag to show off what you have pledged. - LuckyDuck.

1 pointWhere about are you from? We are looking to develop into other nations as time goes by because we know many of the Identity community is all around the world, Do not worry! If you look on our website, it states what countries we will be developing out servers into.

1 pointThe trick is that a graphics tablet works like a mouse, and sometimes recognized as a mouse.. It could recognize it as such and work I take your opinion, and try anyway (I do not expect the pressure level to work if it works, and if it does not work at all, I would be warned)
-
1 pointGraphic tablets likely won't work in-game at this stage or even at full release, but they could add it for full release so need to wait and see.

1 pointHello @teflondon and welcome to the Identity community. Feel free to read the 2 FAQ's which you can find in my Signature. They provide good information about the Game. If you have any questions regarding the community or the game and which answer you can't find in the forums, feel free to contact me. Enjoy your stay here -Radack

1 pointThere must be one bedroom for each resident. so you and two other friends will require a three bedroom house/apartment to all live in the same place. otherwise there will be a permissions list for letting other people in, however I have no idea what permissions that actually allows once inside or if it works when the owner is offline.
-
1 pointI like the concept but i know for fact i will not handle because of ping and lack of english :^( i wish i could play tho
-
1 pointYeah, Tbh it is probably going to be the best one or at least joining the best ones up there in the ranks. Sign up and get whitelisted asap!

1 pointFrom the second FAQ in my signature : " What steering wheels are supported? So far the Thrust-master ones are confirmed. ( if its a popular steering wheel, it'll work) "

1 pointLook here Edit : On progress, Proposing few versions (No vectorization, all handmade) (I can not see if there is a gradient at the level of "pikes" for the red one .. I did without at the moment)

1 pointI wonder... if you own a house like the forest one they showed in early footage, could you decorate the yard? Would be neat if I could make a crop plot on my property to be self sustained.

1 pointI like the concept of Gas Stations. It'd add immersion and you could make it NPC only, kinda like their plans for gun shops. But having to keep your vehicle gassed up would add realism and also make it harder for criminals to endlessly evade Police.
-
1 pointI feel like the Whole Medical career path has potential to be really awesome; I'd honestly love to see a surgeon simulator sort of thing, of course more organized, added in. It would be awesome being able to treat the wounds of the things we hear the newspaper and just the whole system is super potentious! I'm legit fangirling over a potential module in the game... :)) And also that's a whole different story right here the fishing industry mixed with the shipping and commercial industry!
-
1 pointthere are no snipers there is only a hunting rifle with a 2x scope. The devs said the absolute max they would go would be 4x

1 point"Just a friendly reminder, Mr. @njayminsim1115. Vigilantism is against the law. And so is kidnapings and murder. Even if it's against bad guys. Remember, I'm always watching." (( I do like the idea of this. Sounds like it could be a fun chase. All in-character of course! ))
-
1 pointI was like "How the fuck would this be a problem?" Then you pretty much changed my perspective. It'd make gas station attendants super powerful. And before anyone says "They could fill it up themselves." They still have to pay. He could refuse to take the money and then get them arrested for not paying.
-
1 pointHow is it impractical? It would add immersion because you would have to get gas to continue driving. You could buy snacks or drinks from it. It would add another thing for delivery men to deliver. ie Lays potato chip shipment going to a gas station. I like the idea

1 pointWe've had a lot of questions about sex in Identity, and we don't really have many reservations against it, other than the possibility that Identity could be banned from sites like Twitch, Youtube, and potentially from Steam. Sex in Identity could add an intimate element to the game, but it just isn't worth the risk of losing exposure over this single feature.

1 pointGood idea! We'll keep an eye on this thread to try to get an idea of what you guys are looking for. It's important to us that our players be able to fully express their personalities through character customization. Please try to keep ideas grounded in reality though! A lot of our design decisions are based on whether we feel a certain style will break immersion for others.
