Hi boys and girls, People are showing disappointment and in some cases anger that the game is not open yet. This is understandable but also dangerous to how games are being released. The developers of any game have to weigh the risk of releasing a game early, No developers take this decision lightly in any game. Rushing a game can cause major problems on release such as the culling which was released in a beta last year, it had started with a great foot forwards but every patch and update alienated the player base as when you play a game and you think you know how to play it then two weeks later a patch comes out which brings in some balancing and tweaking, half of the playerbase revolts and voices how much of a bad update it was. The culling developers tried there best to keep up with what people wanted but the back and forth of the community tore the game apart to the point that now the average players online around the world is 100-200. This is repeated in a lot of game for example if you want to see this happening right now, you can look at the game "Friday 13th". Friday 13th was released early due to people who gave money in the kickstarter and paypal pledge started to demand it be released early. Unfortunately the Developers gave into the pressure and the game was released with one of the most disastrous releases since Dayz which also made the mistake of rushing a game and releasing way too early. Dayz has more politics behind the scenes with "Rocket" (the main man behind the idea) who looked back at the release as a mistake, the backlash he got crushed him and he felt he coulden't continue being the man everyone blamed for its rushed release. He sold rights to the game to Bohemia and stated he was going to start a new game and do it HIS way. There are countless examples on steam of rushed games and games that end up making a big mistake by listening to the wrong people. The developers for Identity know what they are doing, this is their baby and they want this baby to grow up to be a giant that other RPG games look at and say "holy hell". Its ok to be upset that the game is delayed but remember its coming from a place of love, not love in a gay way but love for the art of making a unique game for people rather than a quick cash grab. If the game is delayed know that it is for the respect of you, because YOU deserve better than a half baked blunder. Sure there will be bugs here and there and mistakes will be made but we are in this together.

The 1st Module (Town Square) is being finished as we speak and will be out/ released in the coming months. No ETA on it but it will be done soon. There are 3 modules, these modules are considered Alpha and they are the Town Square Module which is a social module. The S.w.a.t. module, is a competitive type module (cops vs robbers) and the final module will be the racing module. Shortly after the 3rd module releases the game will go into BETA before release. You need to pledge $30 or more to be able to play the Modules and Beta.

Hi folks. For both new and old users alike, the Identity Shop may be a confusing thing. Thus, I have devised this elegant FAQ article, with the aim that I should be able to solve any problem you may have, without you needing to post a help request. Info for Kickstarter and Old Site backers. If you purchased your pass on either Kickstarter or the Old Site, then you will need to claim your purchase on this page. In order to do so, you will need to create an Identity Shop account, which logs your backer details, rewards, amount pledged etc. Q: I'm being asked to create an account when I try to claim my pledge, yet I've already created an account for the forum? What gives? A: Though it may sound counter-intuitive, your forum account and your Identity Shop account are two wholly different beasts. You will need to create separate accounts for both - however, you can still use the same username/email address. Q: I have created my Shop account and have inputted my email address into the "Claim" box but no claims have been found? Why? A: As the little error box already says, this might be because the system auto-claimed your pledge for you when you created your Shop account. This only occurs when your Shop account email address is the same as your Kickstarter/Old Site email address. If you are still receiving this message, yet no claims have been registered on your account, then you may be using the wrong email address. Ensure that your Kickstarter/Old Site email address is the same one you want to use. If problems still, persist, be sure to contact a Moderator who'll be able to help you track down your lost goodies. Q: What about my exclusive Kickstarter backer's hat? A: Fear not. Any rewards - including the backer's hat, beta access, free motorbike/apartment etc are all tied to your claim and email address. You will receive them when you get your access key. Q: I originally pledged $25 in the Kickstarter campaign, yet this price has risen to $30 on the new site. Do I need to contribute a further $5 to receive my rewards A: Nope, the $5 price bump is simply a short rise in price (caused by inflation and the conversion from Kickstarter's US Dollars to Identity's Canadian Dollars) for new players. You do not need to give any more money to receive your rewards. Info for Potential/Existing Backers Thanks for backing the game! Depending on the extent of your pledge, you will receive your rewards upon the launch of the game. Q: Is there any benefit to backing the game now, rather than buying it at release? As an exclusive backer, you not only receive nice rewards (depending on your pledge) but also a hefty price reduction, compared to the retail price of Identity upon launch. You also get to support Identity's dev team. Q: I claimed my pledge - what now? A: Wait patiently. You will now receive email newsletters from the Identity team informing you of game progress until eventually, you will be sent your access code. Depending on the level of your pledge, this may either be for the beta, or the game's full release. Q: I donated money for one reward but have decided I now want the tier above it. Can I upgrade? A: Yes! If you log into your Shop account, you will see that all prices have now been discounted to different degrees, depending on your original pledge. If you want to upgrade, merely pay the difference between the price of your original purchase and the next tier up. E.g. You originally paid $15 but want the $30 pledge. This pledge has now been reduced by $15. Be sure to log in first though! Q: Where can I track my backer info? A: On this handy page here: https://www.identityrpg.com/account/view/profile. There, you can access the details of your pledge (including rewards), as well as change important account info, like your password, date of birth or name. Importantly, you can also link your Store account to your Steam account, which will enable you to claim your key upon launch. You will also be able to opt out of exclusive backer email updates too, if you feel the need. Your shop account can also be linked to your forum account. Q: I signed in with Facebook but have lost all my items? Where have they gone? Accounts created via Facebook are different to those created without Facebook. To find your items, be sure to sign in with the correct account. That's it, folks. If you have any other questions, feel free to post them in the comments - I'll be sure to answer them as soon as I can! Thanks! Felix

Way back in 1998, my friends and I sat around envisioning a future online game where players would live vicarious lives through their PCs -- shopping in grocery stores, working in the office, driving home, watching some TV and eating snacks, and calling each other on in-game telephones. So when I heard that someone had broken ground on what was essentially that same vision, I naturally had to come see it for myself. And as of right now, I have to say I'm rather impressed! My name, as you probably guessed from my profile name, is Matt. I'm a 37-year old political writer in Binghamton, New York (I write for a popular website, which I won't name for fear of starting a ridiculous argument -- my work life is my work life and my play time is my play time!). I'm a gamer, a musician, a walking Game Of Thrones/ ASOIAF encyclopedia, and a very serious pizza aficionado. I only just discovered this game recently, but I'm already struggling to imagine what sort of virtual life I might lead. Surely I could get into politics and excel pretty rapidly, but that might be a little too close to home for me. Instead, I'll most likely create a company of some sort, though I'm not sure what that might be. In Minecraft I've owned and operated a large multinational conglomerate corporation called "Rockwater International," which I've also used in GTA Online and other games. In MC, Rockwater Int'l is a monster of a company. At the height of its reign I owned "MattDonald's" fast food restaurants in eight different countries, as well as the Rockwater Brewing Company (crafting beer and other alcoholic beverages), Brightstone Mining Company (with stores selling raw materials), huge factory farms with hundreds of animals, and various other creations and acquisitions. So when it comes to running virtual businesses inside a game, I think I can safely say I have a tremendous amount of experience. If I bring Rockwater Int'l into Identity, I'm not sure what form it might take. Perhaps MattDonald's restaurants, with franchising. Maybe I'll get into pharmaceuticals, if that's an option. Or perhaps we'll be a powerful law firm, or an insurance company, or something a little more... ahem... law-adjacent? I'll have a better idea after I learn more about this awesome-looking game. Anyway, that's my big introduction. I'm looking forward to learning more about this game and meeting others in the community!

My name is Blake Gillman, and I've just recently booked my flight here. As a past politician, I'm looking to work my way in as mayor of the township. With much experience, I understand proper tax rates, maintenance, realistic costs, and balancing government budget. My biggest priority is keeping the city well kept by focusing the budget on the most important services like police, firefighter, road maintenance and medical services. (I'll be running for mayor on Official Server #1 as soon as it goes up)

Hello Everyone, First off to the people who are making this game. This game idea brought me to tears. I came up with this exact idea for a video game when I was 9 years old but back then I did not have the technological skills to make it happen. Nor did the computing power exist. It warms my heart so much to see this game come into existence. I would love to work on this game because I feel like this game could be huge. It could change the very foundation of what MMOs can do. Ether way I'm going to enjoy seeing this game grow and experience the world with everyone else who plays this game.

Hello, I am Kevin Jurden, or on the forums Shypindive. I'm not exactly new but I never said hello, or have said much of an introduction for myself. I've been waiting for an Open World, real life RPG for quite some-time now and I think Identity may be just what I've been dreaming up. I've always loved Grand Theft Auto typed games, but wanted something more immersive. I want to be able to live a life of my own without facing the repercussions of it in real life, which I'll be able to do in Identity. I've decided that in Identity I want to be a Police Officer, I believe it'll be nice to see what a job like that day to day is really life. The action packed life of a police officer, or maybe just the one that doesn't see any action. Either way I know I'll enjoy myself, and hope to make friends along the way so don't be afraid to chat with me or befriend me! Thanks, Kevin.

Hello Identity Backers, Thank you for pledging towards the development of Identity! Our records indicate that a pledge was made from this email address and that you're interested in project updates. This month in development Wow, what a month. It's been busy here at Asylum as usual, so let's get down to the interesting stuff! As expected, our current focus is on the Town Square so that we can get it out to you as soon as possible. We're finalising the interior of the library and art gallery (shared within one building) and adding polish to the environment. Once the clothing store interior is complete following that, the Town Square environment is ready to go. We'll continuously be adding more art after release though; specifically for house furnishings, decorations and clothing. In addition to the environment art, Miroslav (character artist) has been creating all sorts of hair assets which allow us to show hair appropriately when wearing a hat or helmet. This is a big task for him as it means making variations to match the hat options for each length of hair, but in the end it'll ensure your hair always looks as you'd expect when wearing headgear. Hair under a hat; work in progress Right next to the clothing shop you'll find a bicycle store where you can get a sneak preview of some of the bikes you'll be able to ride around in the full Identity release. We showed you a bicycle work in progress last blog post and now you can see the finished result of that below. This image will give you a rough idea of the detail level you'll see in Identity's vehicles. Ridable bicycle With more final systems coming online for the Town Square release, we now have functioning phones. Each player will start with a cellphone, although you'll be able to upgrade it with three mobile OS options available. The phone OS' each have a unique and interesting style. Characters also have a designated phone number assigned when they're created; you'll be able to get a custom number for a fee. These phones work just as you'd expect. You're able to dial up another player and speak with voice remotely. Businesses can even get a business line which, when called, will contact a member of that corporation who's online. Shot from an internal system test: advertising While the art of the billboard above isn't final, it gives you a very good idea of what you can expect in Identity for advertising. That's right, you can really publish messages around the world through billboards and other means. Corporations and those running for government office can purchase billboard space to help get their message out. You'll select a graphical template from a large list of options and then attach a brief message or other customization to make it your own. These billboards can also be moderated by the server operators. There are other similar advertising systems, too. For example digital road signs can be made to show custom messages by the current government. We can't wait to show you more of Identity, and we'll soon have that opportunity with the release of an overhauled website. Those current pledge packages are about to go away forever, and some of the rewards won't be available for purchase again after the new website changes. Also, follow us on our Twitch channel if you'd like to stop in and ask questions of the developers. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you'll find a few developers playing a random game from 4pm EST to 5pm EST. Ask any questions and they'll be happy to answer on stream. Catch some of Identity's developers hard at work and see how they make the magic happen: we'll be providing development streaming dates and times on Twitter, soon! -- John VanderZwet Let's Make Identity Great! Identity's development is going great thanks to the support of people like you, but systems like these take a lot of manpower and resources to create. Identity has an awesome community behind it, but when more people know about what we're creating and our budget grows from pledges, we can not only work faster but we can do more, too. If you're as excited to play Identity as we are making it, help spread the word. The gaming industry has needed a game like Identity for too long; let's make it great together!

"Looks like you're going away for a really long time...", Zoey speaks up. She'd raise a brow in confusion, with her gun still pointed at him as it sounds like he's talking to himself. Thinking to herself this guy is clearly a nut job. Zoey holsters her gun, and takes out a pain for cuffs. And she goes to cuff one of the Masked mans hand, and then attempts to spin him around, to cuff his other hand behind his back. Feeling pretty confident she had this in the box. Then out of nowhere, he suddenly grabbed her wrist, and pulled himself behind her. With her wrist behind her back. And she could feel him pulling her wrist up, causing her pain in her arm. She'd let out a soft whimper, "Oww..Oww..Oww..Oww...." Before she could say anything else, she'd feel a needle in her neck. Which is was making her sleepy. "W-w-w-what'd you do to me...!?", she'd ask out, as her visions blacks out, and she doesn't feel her legs anyone. She'd hear the whisper in her ear, and then feels like being tossed and spun around. As finally everything turns dark and quiet. Zoey had been knocked out. (( Wonder where Zoey's gonna end up. @UnknownX ))

I think this game would benefit from having live in game news reporters. You could have players sitting in news rooms talking about things going on in the world, Things going on in real life, By having live tv in game, You could have players host live in game events. Radio show hosts could keep people while they drive. If you want you could go the extra mile and let people who have lots of money hire other people to make movies and tv shows in the world. You create your own movie creator kit and let people make movies and shows to host in game. If that's to much you could have people just make digital movies using other 3d software and ten just import it into the game world. Also by having live tv in game. You could could have people create ads and so on.

*Bam* His camera was shot and the tv turned to static. The man in the white mask looked to the camera and then to her, then back to the camera and then back to her. He dropped to his knees. "Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyy why would you do that? They watchers, they want to see what is going on!" He lowers his head and grabs at her pants and tugs on them as he looks up at her. He see her FBI badge and then looks up at his hands rest on her pant legs. "Special agent Anderson...why?" his voice gets low. "Do you have any idea what you did?" He shakes his head and and looks down he then raises his hands up." Go ahead take me away." with that the man in the white mask slowly stands up with his hands out towards her. Keeping his head lowered and his hands out towards her he just shook his head. "no idea...no Idea...Yes she did know what she was doing...shut up no she didn't, She wants what you want.....but she shot the camera!...you have no idea what you just did....shes a fed she knows what she doing....NO! everything is going to plan....." The man in the white mask looked back at her. Special agent Anderson holster her gun and reaches for her handcuffs. She would slap one of the handcuffs on the mans wrist, but before she would place the second one on the man in the white mask would spin his arm around and himself to get to her backside once again. "oops to slow special agent Anderson." With that he pushes her twisted arm up to make sure she felt the pain. "This wont hurt a bit....well it might for a second but when you wake up you will be in a new world." With his other hand he pulls out a needle from his coat and sticks it into her neck slowly pressing the knock out liquid into her blood stream. The man in the white mask whispers in her ear. " Rock a by baby on the treetop....." The knock liquid would kick in knocking her out in his arms. he quickly tosses the needle away and spins her around as he body goes limp. "no no no tonight we dance!" The man in the white mask takes his new special agent lady and starts to dance with her limp body. ( your up @Norway174 )

There will be a bunch of servers, each with a purpouse of rping. But i can see your concern, when i pass my eyes through this forum i can easily say that there are a bunch of possible criminals and cops. i would say it will be 65% citizens, 20% cops and 15% criminals, but it always depend on how law is being enforced, you will probably think twice when commiting a crime, since there some jobs you can't apply anymore because you have a bad history on police reports and it goes the same way, if there are no cops, and robbing people is easy, criminals will increase dramatically, i will always pay atenttion into that because i will be a small criminal depending on how stuff goes on but tbh you shouldnt be worried, devs said there will be bunch of "safe zones". sorry for bad english >:) -Lexan

With her gun drawn point right him and his right hand in his coat and the other hand opening it so slightly, he takes his left hand off the coat and hold it up. “Easy their Annie Oakley easy. I said I have a gift for you all’s you have to do is let me walk right out those doors.” He points behind her with his left hand that is raised. He then slowly places his hand on top of her gun trying to lower it. The tv behind the hand held camera on a tri pod had a counter that was going up. The counter was showing how many people are watching around the city to see what is going to happen in the standoff. “Hold a second is this your first time on the job?” He quickly takes his hand out from his coat pocket with nothing to show “Tisk Tisk” his finger waves back n forth. “Did you even call for backup!?” He looks into her eyes not knowing if she did or did not call for back up but the way she is acting is making it look like she did not. A small laughter is heard coming from the man in the white mask as he spins around to her back. Well more of a laughing twirl if you can picture that. Standing behind her he places his white gloved hands on her shoulder and leans in. She can see his white mask in the corner of her eye. “What’s your name Annie? Is it ok Annie? Is it ok?” he laughs once again as he lets go of her and steps back in front of her. “Ok where we….I were think I was like this.” He puts his left hand up and places his right hand back into his coat. “We have to make sure the watchers, are getting their rocks off here.” The counter on the tv continues to climb. “Does it depress you? To know just how alone you really are” (Up next @Norway174)

Zoey stands up from the empty bloodied chair and looks around as the light flickers. Her eyes then meets the dark eye holes of the white mask. She'd quickly react by drawing her gun, and pointing it at the man, just as the camera came back on. She could see herself and the criminal on the TV being live broadcasted. "I've came to arrest... Hey! Turn that off!", she'd shout. "Put your hands up!" The situation would tense up even further as she notices he's slowly reaching for something. "STOP THAT! DON'T MAKE ME SHOOT YOU!", she'd practically beg him, really not wanting to shoot anyone on live TV. Though, being prepared to do so if she has to. Her attention being clearly focused to what he's about to take out of his coat. (( Your turn, @UnknownX. ))
  31. 1 point
The light above Zoey would flicker on and of a couple times before clicking on. A low humming sound from the light is heard and then from the darkness around her a whistle is heard more like a song whistle. (Hes got the whole world in his hands) He stops and steps out from the shadows next to his gun that he dropped on ground when he shot the Judge in the shoulder. "Well helllllllooooo nurse...." The man in the white mask with white gloves and a long black coat stands before Zoey. "I know I thought I told the police that if a piggy tries to find me that I would come back on air and tell all my Watchers that I would put a bounty on each and every Cops head.." With that he take another step closer to Zoey and crosses his arms. "So why are you her my little sexy vixen? Come to arrest me? come to shoot me?" *beep* A button was pressed while his hands were crossed as the hand held camera light turns on, and a TV behind the camera also turns on showing both of them in the frame of the camera. He tilts his head and then kinda of makes a jump at her but doesn't touch her. and then bends over and laughs. "ha ha ha Sorry so sorry I had to break the tension between us" He stands back up and looks and points to the camera and points to her shaking his head. "Ok ok lets be honest with ourselves its late your not going to arrest me your not going to shoot me and you don't want to do paperwork for the rest of the night do you? So how about I give you a gift and we will see each other another day because I am a very very busy man?" He starts to slowly reach into his coat about to pull something out. ((Let the stand off begin your up @Norway174 ))

Time: next night between 1am and 2am Location: Still unknown Static hits all the tvs around the city. But with a blink of an eye it goes to that dark room with one single light above, that is shining down on a man in a tux slumped over tied up in a chair. A pocket watch falls from the top of the screen it reads 12:00 the watch slowly starts to go back in forth. “Hickory Dickory Dock…the mouse ran up clock…the clock struck two and I SAID BOOOO!” With that the pocket watch was thrown past the sleeping Mr. Swan and shattered against the wall behind him. Judge Swan jolts up breathing heavy and looking around scared as he is trying to figure out what just happen. The man in the white mask head comes from the side of the camera close up. “Hello…it’s me again and this story is coming to an end..So again if you have forgot my name is….” Mr. Swan starts to yell. “HELP SOMEBODY HELP ME! HELP!” The man in the white mask turns his head to look at Swan and then steps back into frame of the camera. He leans down grabs the duct tape off the floor and smacks it across his mouth. “Shut up!….this is all your fault!” The man in the white mask reaches into his jacket pocket and pulls out a small knife. He pops it open and then turns it around in his hand and slams the small knife into Mr. Swan’s thigh. His voice low “Now you have something to yell about!” A muffled sound is heard coming from the mouth of Mr. Sawn. The man in the white mask laughs and then let’s go of the knife and turns around to look at the camera.

Well That is what my opinion is on the matter but If they added a DLC sometime in the future, they could add only planes and they could be on a strict flight course which cannot be changed but as a player job / career you have to turn the engine on and when it prompts you have to click buttons like to do flaps on the wings or like pull out the landing gear etc. So the planes is on auto pilot with no ways of changing it.

like a friend told me, its taking them this long to release a town and get it to work, this game wont be out until like 2020

Am I the only skeptical one about this ever getting released? A couple art photos over "months of progress" ?

Yes you are right about the concept art map and that is not what it will likely look like; however the 3 cities are there and also a ski resort. Even if people use the concept art map as a thing to show what locations, they just mean "my thing will be in this place (city) etc. Also about the twitter info: (This page shows latest tweets) http://www.identityrpg.com/devtracker/ You can go and scroll down and try find the answers but it might be a long process of looking.

Dear haters of this game, I understand that a lot of people have many doubts on this game thinking that it will be a 2nd "No Man's Sky" and it's too ambitious of a project, or simply just impossible, then please reconsider and give this game a chance. Yes there are a lot of expectations in this game and yes it has limitations but this game is striving to become a new genre all in itself. After this game comes out, or even before, you might see big corporations trying to copy this as this has become very popular and very unique. This brings me to my main point. If your trying to say that this game is like those made by major corporations, it's not. It's made by a small team of developers who fantasized about this type of game. Instead of sitting around like the rest of us do and expect a game like this to be handed to us, they took the initiative and MADE this game. Also, we aren't buying "early access" per say. We are giving the developers money to continue working on this game and bring this community something that we all enjoy. Most of us are here because we wanted this type of game to come out and when it did, we all jumped on the great idea and are trying to make it a reality. The people who pledge $30 or more will get beta access, yes. This doesn't mean that they are trying to suck all the money out of us as they can. They simply NEED funding unlike games made by BE or BLIZZARD or Valve, etc. I hope you put this here as a joke. If you meant this in a detrimental way then I think that you need to find a better use of your time. Again, the people of the Identity community love this game and wish for it to be a reality. If we didn't buy "early access" and all the other perks, then there would be no game. Valve can pump out new games for as long as they want without selling early access. They can make games that are F2P and have no micro transactions whatsoever simply because of the fact that they have the funding too and will be bringing in more money than they know what to do with. This being said, Asylum Entertainment has no major funding expect for the people that like the community and the game. I can't speak for everyone, but I think that most people part of the community appreciate what Asylum Entertainment is doing and giving us a game that is 1. Cheap, 2. NOT pay to win, and 3. Something that a lot of people have fantasized about for a long time. You can buy the game and become the most powerful person on the official servers just by playing and being dedicated. I am not 100% on this but I heard that it will cost around $15 USD to buy the full game. There are micro transactions but they are purely cosmetic. This is purely a community based driven game. Almost the whole world is controlled by the people. This is a game created by the people for the people. If you still have doubts in your mind then that's fine, different people have different opinions and you are entitled to yours. I hope that you can at least not spread hate about this game. Thanks for reading and if you agree then leave a like to show the power of the community and to show that you really care about this game! ~Rem P.S: If this can for some reason get pinned, It might help show the haters the power of the people and community!
