Hi boys and girls, People are showing disappointment and in some cases anger that the game is not open yet. This is understandable but also dangerous to how games are being released. The developers of any game have to weigh the risk of releasing a game early, No developers take this decision lightly in any game. Rushing a game can cause major problems on release such as the culling which was released in a beta last year, it had started with a great foot forwards but every patch and update alienated the player base as when you play a game and you think you know how to play it then two weeks later a patch comes out which brings in some balancing and tweaking, half of the playerbase revolts and voices how much of a bad update it was. The culling developers tried there best to keep up with what people wanted but the back and forth of the community tore the game apart to the point that now the average players online around the world is 100-200. This is repeated in a lot of game for example if you want to see this happening right now, you can look at the game "Friday 13th". Friday 13th was released early due to people who gave money in the kickstarter and paypal pledge started to demand it be released early. Unfortunately the Developers gave into the pressure and the game was released with one of the most disastrous releases since Dayz which also made the mistake of rushing a game and releasing way too early. Dayz has more politics behind the scenes with "Rocket" (the main man behind the idea) who looked back at the release as a mistake, the backlash he got crushed him and he felt he coulden't continue being the man everyone blamed for its rushed release. He sold rights to the game to Bohemia and stated he was going to start a new game and do it HIS way. There are countless examples on steam of rushed games and games that end up making a big mistake by listening to the wrong people. The developers for Identity know what they are doing, this is their baby and they want this baby to grow up to be a giant that other RPG games look at and say "holy hell". Its ok to be upset that the game is delayed but remember its coming from a place of love, not love in a gay way but love for the art of making a unique game for people rather than a quick cash grab. If the game is delayed know that it is for the respect of you, because YOU deserve better than a half baked blunder. Sure there will be bugs here and there and mistakes will be made but we are in this together.

Hello Identity Backers, Thank you for pledging towards the development of Identity! Our records indicate that a pledge was made from this email address and that you're interested in project updates. This month in development Wow, what a month. It's been busy here at Asylum as usual, so let's get down to the interesting stuff! As expected, our current focus is on the Town Square so that we can get it out to you as soon as possible. We're finalising the interior of the library and art gallery (shared within one building) and adding polish to the environment. Once the clothing store interior is complete following that, the Town Square environment is ready to go. We'll continuously be adding more art after release though; specifically for house furnishings, decorations and clothing. In addition to the environment art, Miroslav (character artist) has been creating all sorts of hair assets which allow us to show hair appropriately when wearing a hat or helmet. This is a big task for him as it means making variations to match the hat options for each length of hair, but in the end it'll ensure your hair always looks as you'd expect when wearing headgear. Hair under a hat; work in progress Right next to the clothing shop you'll find a bicycle store where you can get a sneak preview of some of the bikes you'll be able to ride around in the full Identity release. We showed you a bicycle work in progress last blog post and now you can see the finished result of that below. This image will give you a rough idea of the detail level you'll see in Identity's vehicles. Ridable bicycle With more final systems coming online for the Town Square release, we now have functioning phones. Each player will start with a cellphone, although you'll be able to upgrade it with three mobile OS options available. The phone OS' each have a unique and interesting style. Characters also have a designated phone number assigned when they're created; you'll be able to get a custom number for a fee. These phones work just as you'd expect. You're able to dial up another player and speak with voice remotely. Businesses can even get a business line which, when called, will contact a member of that corporation who's online. Shot from an internal system test: advertising While the art of the billboard above isn't final, it gives you a very good idea of what you can expect in Identity for advertising. That's right, you can really publish messages around the world through billboards and other means. Corporations and those running for government office can purchase billboard space to help get their message out. You'll select a graphical template from a large list of options and then attach a brief message or other customization to make it your own. These billboards can also be moderated by the server operators. There are other similar advertising systems, too. For example digital road signs can be made to show custom messages by the current government. We can't wait to show you more of Identity, and we'll soon have that opportunity with the release of an overhauled website. Those current pledge packages are about to go away forever, and some of the rewards won't be available for purchase again after the new website changes. Also, follow us on our Twitch channel if you'd like to stop in and ask questions of the developers. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you'll find a few developers playing a random game from 4pm EST to 5pm EST. Ask any questions and they'll be happy to answer on stream. Catch some of Identity's developers hard at work and see how they make the magic happen: we'll be providing development streaming dates and times on Twitter, soon! -- John VanderZwet Let's Make Identity Great! Identity's development is going great thanks to the support of people like you, but systems like these take a lot of manpower and resources to create. Identity has an awesome community behind it, but when more people know about what we're creating and our budget grows from pledges, we can not only work faster but we can do more, too. If you're as excited to play Identity as we are making it, help spread the word. The gaming industry has needed a game like Identity for too long; let's make it great together!

I propose this subject so that we all help to create / modify your logos for free, Until the release of the game. Preferably logos and signature for a company or other! Not for any purpose other than for this game. Of course I put my help at your disposal, but everyone can contribute and help! This is the purpose of this topic ! (Until the release of the game, because the other artists and I will charge our services in game, for my part anyway) ! " A logo reflects the values and quality of your business. It is the first link between the customer and you. A poor quality logo, not worked, with bad colors or bad layout will not attract the customer. On the contrary, a simple, clear and timeless logo will attract a wide range of customers ! " _______________________________________ List of works : JamesLuck01 : Canceled. Mattrock607 : Finished. I believe it would be a great idea to have a personal vehicle, like a longboard, that doesn't require a license. I know there's bicycles, but I would really enjoy seeing longboards with downhill races and possibly even a skate park. Just a though, but I want to see what everyone thinks!

It's just my personal opinion, I feel like this island would be better off without aircraft. If a mind was changed in the future, again just my personal opinion, I would hope to not see anything larger than a tiny single seat mini mosquito helicopter. Small and not too fast. No matter how it turns out though, I'm very anxious to meet all the wonderful community in the first module. Hopefully see you there

If I get a server you can come play on it, I don't really care how people sound with their voice, it is not their fault, also its unique just mature and Rp and Respect will be the only thing I will care about mostly on that side of things. ~Still super excited for Identity~

I am sure a lot of people will be fine with you but just try find the right people (Those ones who don't judge) however I am sure you will be just fine and by the time you do get to finally RP in the game, you may have already had your voice broken!! It is not however a big deal to a lot of people who respect RP from all ages.

As golden pancake said, the module will be the foundation of the game itself. The town module will be the building blocks for the other modules. It is taking awhile because they want it to be a very good building block. They want the foundation of the house to be good so it doesn't collapse when they add all the walls, floors, and furniture.

@tomstud12 Modules (considered Alpha) and BETA is after all 3 modules have been released. Also the TS Module (1st module); will be released soon and that could be by the end of this month or July or even August as we currently don't know a specific month. I personally think July will be the month it releases but that is my personal opinion and not a fact.

Why should we hire you? I love all types of activitites. I am always looking for a job to do know matter what. I love going to starbucks in real life and this will remind me of it in a game! (how sick is that!) Do you have any real life professional strengths? I want to become a chemical engineer or a computer scientist. I hope one day I can have alot of money and travel the world to see different types of cultures and foods. Are you active in checking discord at least once a day? Yes. I even have notifications on my phone (which gets so annoying). I would love to work at a place where there is a view of the beach. I would love to work for management, thank you and have an amazing day.

Hello @Patch and welcome to the Identity community. There are no official minimum PC Specs yet. The dev's said if you can run games like GTA:V, ARK or ARMA3 then you should be fine. (This question has been answered several times here in the forums. There is no info on the homepage but here in the forums) Greetings -Radack

game development takes time give them the time. i heard them saying they where reworking some systems... they can show you a lot of things , yet how would you feel if its not in the final build ? , that would be like how no mans sky was.... yet i do agree they could tell us more direct what they did that day.... the only reason i see the amount of delays, they wan't to do it right and that takes time....
  21. 1 point
I get your point of view and with that comes this as the opposite. Games get delayed/ updates get pushed back. Games take time it is a part of them all really and that is the same as what you said but they have so many features they want to add to the game but they are not going to be added until after the module is released at least and they are focusing on getting as what they planned for us to see being finished and then will release the 1st module. However they have said features which they do want, not all of them will make it in the game by full release but will come as updates shortly after. You are frustrated with the module being pushed back? Well it is for the better not the worst because really at least all the interiors and such will be complete that are open for us to explore in the 1st module. Delays are something inevitable. I am both on the side of getting the module quickly but I understand the delays are only for benefits of the game. I am sure you will like what you see and able to do but remember it is not that they want to delay the game but that they have to. (The devs want to play it as much as we do and so releasing it is on their top priorities list but finishing the few things left is 1st before that.)

It's great because we can hire people or join other companies before the game starts. That way, companies can stay competitive.

We have received a lot of information about the game, through QnA's, forum questions, twitter questions etc. so it has made it possible to create companies before launch. Now for prices, those are supposed to give you an idea about the value of their goods, they aren't necessarily permanent.
  44. 1 point
A couple of months is when it will come, but it got delayed because of multiple reasons. e.g. a dev took his time (Was too slow) for assets, they remade the Town Square, re-textured the town square too a few times etc. However like @Frostybeans said lets hope it gets done soon before more people lose hype.

It has been said on twitter before. I am a mod for this forum btw, but that info don't matter because it has been public knowledge that their will be no explosives in the game. I will try find a post on the forum with it being said. Here in this Post it has a tweet about it.

I myself am 33 (34 soon), and I honestly hope there's an option for more mature players. I'm not saying that younger players are necessarily immature, though I'm really trying hard to get away from the GTA kill-everything-that-moves mentality that is popular with the younger generation. I'm just hoping to find a more laid back, immersive and RP centric community.

There will be no streaming / recording software and hardware in game which means you cannot make money off of it in game.
