2 pointsHello everyone! Some of you might remember that I had a thread on the old forum with an Imgur album containing all pictures posted by the developers on Twitter and Facebook. I just wanted to let you all know, both those who might have seen it but had forgot about it, aswell as new people who found it just now that it still exists and is updated as soon as a new picture is released. You can access it here, feel free to use it (or not use it) however you like. Take care!

2 pointsGiven that there is a fair bit of world building already done in Identity, I figured I would write a story about the daily life of my character Carpe Pecuniam. It will most likely be a work in progress that I'll add more to as i'm inspired to do so. Anyway, here goes... My days always begin alone. I wake up in my queen size mattress, with no wife or girlfriend, while this bothers me to a certain extent, It is quickly pushed to the back of my mind. I'm married to my company, there is always time for that later. Dollabank has been growing incredibly quickly since it was first founded. With somewhat of a rocky start, the company was now seeing it's best days. Being the biggest cash cow on the market, I had more responsibility than ever. I needed to make sure everyone from my clients to my investors and especially my employees were all happy. My penthouse, while appearing luxurious to the working class, was actually quite small compared to the other monstrosities that some richer friend's of mine owned. It consisted of a humble living room with a beautiful Bay Window display overlooking the city. This area contained an open kitchen complete with a gas stove, dishwasher, refrigerator and an empty liquor cabinet. The floor was soft bamboo, which easily connected to the hardwood floors of the rest of the house. A marble counter-top lay upon the the open wall of the kitchen, with a few mahogany stools on either side of the fixture. Connected to the living room were two bedrooms to the north of the penthouse and a bedroom and a bathroom on the south side. As i made my usual Tuesday morning breakfast, a 4 egg omelette with chives, french bread, microwave sausage and orange juice, I glanced over at my stove clock: 8:30. It sure is good to be the boss, I thought to myself. Had this been earlier in my career working for JP Morgan I would have to be rushing out the door in order to wait in traffic for an hour. Nowadays, while I pride myself in my diligence and work ethic, I do take a few liberties. If I arrive to work 10 or 15 minutes late, it won't bankrupt me. Locking up my penthouse and taking the elevator down, I find myself with a familiar stranger. We are both wearing a Keys brand suit, so I decide to strike up a conversation. "That suit fits your form really well, was it tailor made?" "Are you hitting on me?" The man replies, rather upset with the homosexual advance he imagined I was making. "Nevermind." I stated quickly, not wanting to invoke any other false allegations. We awkwardly avoided eye contact until the elevator doors opened and I thought I would finally be relieved from the discomfort. This however was not the case. As the man and I both drove to work we have the pleasure of each others and eye contact avoidance until we at last entered the garage and parted ways. I thought saying goodbye or making a remark about seeing him tomorrow, would be appropriate, however given the probability that he would most likely perceive the remark as a homosexual advance, I thought better of it. Given that it was Tuesday I decided on driving my BMW, the other two choices being my much older Rolls Royce, and my newer, midlife crisis (even though I'm in my 30s), Lamborghini. I drove my BMW on Tuesdays through Thursday given it's higher fuel economy, the other two cars I mostly use for board meetings (and Mondays) and night my night life respectively. My drive to work was uneventful as usual. I flipped through the radio stations and decided on 44.3 Outlaw. It was mostly advertisements for the upcoming election, I took a mental note of some of the candidates, but I wasn't paying too much attention. On my route I did pass by the DollaBank billboard I just made a payment on. My father being a billboard salesmen, it filled me with a sense of pride to see my company's brand being elevated on a pedestal above a major highway on a glorious, white billboard. Even if it wasn't the most optimal way to advertise, I still feel it was worth it. When I finally arrive at my office at 9:40, it was a hectic mess. That is to say, it's usually a hectic mess and today was no different. Anyone who says finance is boring has never worked for me I chuckled to myself. I find it therapeutic to sometimes just stand at the entrance and watch my employees work. As my eyes shift from one to the next, watching them all work hard to complete their daily assignments, I find myself reflecting on how far my company has come. I started DollaBank when this city was just beginning, with only a few employees. The fact that over 50 were working for me now, and it's only been 2 years, it's unbelievable. "Mr. Peciuam, phone call for you." I'm snapped out of my daydream by the caring, yet urgent voice of my secretary. "Sorry about that Lynda" I said. "Put them on speaker in my office, I'll be there in a minute. Did you catch who it was by any chance?" "It's The People's Party, they want you to support them in the race and donate to their campaign. Also try and make it quick, there is a representative of the Langston Family in the lobby" "What?" I croaked, in a manner that failed the convey the anger, confusion, and fear I felt upon hearing that name. "Can't a lower manager tell them to leave? It's against policy for us to involve ourselves with organized crime, not to mention highly illegal. They have no business here, I've been refusing the mob since I first set up shop" "They're refusing to leave unless they see you personally and are saying that, 'we'll make you an offer you can't refuse'" Lynda said this last part in a horribly fake Italian accent. I always wondered how she could take matters involving millions of dollars so lightly. To Be Continued..... Will Post Part 2 Tomorrow.

2 pointsI think it will realease on May 12 Friday, it looks a good day. The first thing i will do is walk around the city, I'm curious how it will be, the buildings, the town square, the size...

2 pointsStop being such a jerk, he can adapt his idea the way he likes. "You're literally another "rat kid" with unoriginal void ideas lmao" "From the developer himself dumbass" "You're just another 'Car meet-up' fool." Stop being so toxic and go to another community if you'll behave like this.

2 pointsIt was like reading a novel.. Write a damn book in Identity. I will buy it if its as good as part 1.

-
2 pointsYo isn't this game supposed to be rated 18+? y'all children go play some Minecraft or something.
-
2 pointsI am too. But if we were going to do that kind of thing on Halloween I'd want the spook houses to be good. None of that cheap thrill crap. I'm talking about creative and terrifying. I wouldn't want them to be too short either. No 5 minute walkthrough. I'm thinking more like 15 minutes. They do that and I'm sure it would be a hit.
-
2 pointsI think that the module will release on May 4th because "May The fourth Be With you devs" I plan to meet new people and have some laughs with everyone.

2 pointsIf you are serious about being an Artist, I am looking for some art at the Anonymous HQ..

2 pointsWhat a crazy several weeks since the last dev blog post! The increased exposure and attention from the apartment video has resulted in a surge of additional funding for Identity, which has translated into an expanded team with two new full-time developers coming on board and more to join soon. Work has been going very well. Motown, your community manager, has started transitioning into the role of producer to help manage our expanding team. This has helped to reduce some of the work-load on myself so it's been a very welcome change and he's proving to be great for the role. Our lead character artist, Miroslav, has been hard at work on numerous enhancements including building our makeup and blemish systems. This will give us the freedom to add all kinds of makeup options, especially for females but also for men. Your options at character creation will be a bit limited, but a vanity table will let you customize your makeup much further. Blemishes allow us to modify the skin in a whole lot of ways, from just a little blush on the cheeks to full-body freckles and more. Miroslav has also done an excellent job expanding eye customization for your characters which won't just tint the color of the iris but change its entire pattern to properly match the styles seen in those eyes in reality. He's also expanded our options for hair and facial hair. Feature development has also been going quickly and smoothly. Among others, we've built the contacts and friends systems which will be available in the Town Square module. When you meet people in the world you'll be able to exchange contact information, adding their number and name to your phone. This then acts like a friends list in other games, but you can even text or phone them with real working voice systems. It's also integrated with your Steam friends to make finding them easier. Environment art is also moving along, with several artists working full-time to give you beautiful environments. We've hired on some more artists and are even reworking some of the earlier assets we produced to bring the up to our now higher standards. Identity YouTube channel PowerGaming7 had the chance to speak with myself and Motown for a while after asking his viewers for a bunch of questions to ask. The result was an almost one hour long video where we shared all sorts of information you may not have heard before. You can find the link to this video right here. Once again, I want to thank every one of you for your continued support! Every pledge that comes in goes straight into the development of new features and helps us get the game to you a little bit faster. The attention we've seen over the last couple of months has been staggering, and we are excited to show you more of the gameplay soon!

1 pointSo, I've decided that this might help some people that are SUPER anxious about the game coming out. In the thread, I want you guys to just write down: • What day the module is gonna release, • Why it's gonna release on that day, • And what you're going to do the first day of play! This isn't a release thread. Nothing I say here is saying when it's ACTUALLY releasing -- this is all just for fun and a stress reliever haha. I'll go ahead and start. April 20th: The game has released because the developers find humor in the day 4/20 being national weed day. I'm currently saving up enough money for a nice car and am living life in my hotel. I began working at the local farmer's market and make around 200$ a week (pretty good living tbh). What're you gonna do? What do you plan? Have a nice day, ~ SummitsEdge

1 pointG'day all. My name is Andrew Donaldson and I just realised I have been on this forum for a year a three months! That's a long time. I haven't posted on here in a while and I just wanted to know how we are all feeling? And hey, if you just want to chat, post a comment!
-
1 pointNo, as it is not out yet! You'll have to wait until the first module (Considered an alpha stage) is released to play any part of the game, which is estimated to come out in the next 2-3 weeks. However, the devs have yet to release an exact date, so this is purely a guestimation. The beta won't be released until around early 2018, which is still an estimate and could be pushed back!
-
1 pointTo add on to what @Hatoful is saying, The 1st Module will be playable soon but it is not out as of yet. You will have to download the installer from this site when the module is available and download the module from that installer. The game will be available on steam ONLY at full game release which is likely to be some time next year.

1 pointReally? Oh, I had heard it was going to be a small part of the main city.

1 pointTow Square is just the "Town Square" not the whole city.

1 pointYou will be able to redeem your rewards on one official server which acts, which redeems it for all of them as it will be one database. However if you spend the $1k on server 1 then on server 2 you will only have the amount you have left after spending on server 1. The developers are / will try and get it so you can redeem the pledges on all unofficial servers too, which will be redeemable one time per each server (on it's own database).

1 pointOslo, Norway - Name: littlebigman23 You have been blocked for trying to tamper with the Cherokee MC Website. on the date of April 17, 2017 10:27am & April 17, 2017 12:14pm. All information is on file with your IP, If you attempt to retry your information will be dealt with your local Police department.
-
1 pointI don't think he worried about your affairs, just pointing out the irony of your claims of originality, yet you use a movie title as your logo....
-
1 pointThere are not much official information on that yet. They said that you will have the rewards on all official servers. They have no infos on custom servers yet but i don't think you will have the rewards there because of the custom rules like you said. So you will have the rewards accross all official servers. Pledgers will receive their reward in the modules AND in the finished game. This is true!

1 pointYo wassup andrew. You probably don't recognise me from the name. Its Herzog my dude. Good to hear from you long time no see man

-
1 pointThis is what I truly want to do and I'm staying with it no matter what!
-
1 pointI will definitely enjoy the marriage aspects of the game, something else special to look forward to!

1 pointI'm an avid player in secondlife aswell i see where that disgust comes from all to well. so i'd have to stand by my first opinion on no ai's certainly kids. (maybe a dog you can train to defend in pvp) but i think that's as far as i'd go. they've already had their work cut out for them developing, so far adding in pointless ai's would just outsource the game for another two three, or even more years. while i'm sure there could be a good few benefits, but the goal was to stick with no ai's from the get go for many reasons. It's to be a player based game, but i'm sure they'll have some kind of add in ai's or fillers, even if they only wander in your own home.

1 pointWhat day the module is gonna release: My person is assuming that the first module shall be released during May 1, 2017. • Why it's gonna release on that day: Merely an assumption that is based on the idea that the module would've been released one month later than it's initial release date. • And what you're going to do the first day of play! My character may function as a transporter in order to transport individuals throughout the map. However, during the module, the character shall merely invest it's time with ANY job that provides the character with a decent wage.

1 pointIf it does, I hope it fixes the issue of joining a Gmod server. >Join server >loading > *INSTALLING FOUR COPIES OF ARMA 3 AND WITCHER 3 ONTO YOUR PC* > "sending server client for another half an hour" Then everything is the purple checkered texture and everything is cancer because you didn't install the Stargate mod and download WireMod from k4pitaliztpiksmustdie.ru.cn

1 pointHe sounds like he is talking about in "Real Life". but I think that they shouldn't get a tag because that is not needed but it still is a cool idea but the info is out on the internet and other sources as far as I am aware and so they don't need police officers specifically if they like the idea or even what they think and more that we as one "The community" can say and the opinions of all should matter and not just "Real Life" police officers.
-
1 pointI'm pretty sure they mentioned having pets such as dogs and cats - possibly even fish. But to make some dogs K9 might be difficult, but not impossible.
-
1 pointi agree with this, especially on hours that the servers could be slow, it would not be fun to drive around the city or walk around an empty city. filler NPC wouldn't be a bad idea, but that would just be a lot of extra work i'M sure ( not something they would need to do right away) and id like the marriage idea, someone you can actually somewhat build an empire with. thank god for VOIP chat too because my wife better not have a deeper voice than me.
-
1 pointWhole bunch of nope! Marriage and adoption will be in game, however it will all be player based, not NPC. Children will be young adults at the very least, and you won't be able to sleep with your significant other. Who TF wants to marry or have a NPC as a significant other or child...

1 pointIt's been a busy, eventful and productive month for the Identity team at Asylum! Only a few weeks ago we released our first video showing real in-game content, the player housing system, and Identity has gotten a good bit of much-needed exposure! If you haven't seen the video, visit Identity's YouTube channel. Our programmers, especially Henrik Sonesson, have upgraded our inventory mechanics and created two new important gameplay systems these last weeks. The library which you'll have access to in the Town Square module is now in place and functional. Players can both read public domain classic books in-game, or even write their own and submit them to the library for other players to read. In addition, the NPC shop systems are now in place. When you enter most shops you'll be able to find the items you need on racks or displays around the store. Grab what it is you're looking for and then make your way to the cash register to make the purchase. In some places you can preview the items you're holding even before buying; for example, in a clothing store you can go into a change room. This system even allows for shoplifting some items, although player-crafted or very expensive items cannot be shoplifted on official servers. On the art front, we've brought on new artists and are continuing to build the world you'll be exploring. We've also been focusing on the interiors of buildings and characters. We've gotten our first facial hair assets and are approaching a complete character customization system. An overhaul of character skin and hair has Identity's characters looking incredibly life-like in comparison to other MMORPGs. Next on that list for a re-work is the eyes.

1 pointHello citizens! It's been too long since our last developer blog entry, so I wanted to take the time today to update all of our backers on Identity's current state of development, as well as give a little more insight into the process behind the scenes. During the first year and a bit of development, most of the time was spent developing key backend systems. Networking modifications, weapon physics, character customization, voice communication and so on. That's all behind us now, and I'm happy to say it's gone as well as we could have hoped. Now and for the past couple of months we've moved on to gameplay development, making those backend features do the fun stuff. This Month in Development In this last month our lead character artist, Miroslav, has finished up everything we need for your characters going into the Town Square release. We're always going to be adding more character customizations over time, but to start you'll have the choice between 4 male and 5 female race options. After selecting your base race you can customize further with skin tones, blemishes, scars, eye color, hair styles, hair colors and tweaks to facial features. Identity is expanding on the usual character customization, though, as some of the options available can only be gotten through achievements. Prison tattoos are an example; if you see someone with such a tattoo you know they've done something to earn it. A lot of work this month has also gone into the player housing systems. In following our previous messages, our home customization system has been in place for some months although we've been expanding the floorplans in preperation for the Town Square module release. Sean, or Motown as you may know him, has prepared the various apartments you will have in the Town Square. If you have made a smaller pledge to Identity and do not have an apartment yet, we're going to be giving you access to a temporary (small) home in the Town Square so that you can play with the cusomization features. If you've pledged for a package containing an apartment, Town Square will show what you'll have in the full Identity game upon release. Just this morning our lead programmer, Henrik (AKA Mathalion), finished up the karaoke systems. It's a minor feature for Identity as a whole, but it's going to be loads of fun in the Town Square module! Just off the lobby of the hotel is a slick little bar, complete with a karaoke stage. You'll be able to queue up your favorite songs on the karaoke machine and see the lyrics on one of the monitors around the stage. The microphone on the stage really works, too, amplifying your voice out of the speakers so that your singing can be heard by everyone there! Most of us are terrible singers, so karaoke is going to have a lot of hilarious moments. If you're just there to watch, the restaurant by the stage is fully functional, too! It's Been Too Long I'll just come right out and say it: we at Asylum Entertainment have really had poor PR these last months, and you guys deserve better. You deserve much more frequent updates, and we're committing to give you that moving forward. We're a relatively small development team today. Currently a core staff of 5 incredibly talented full-time developers, I'm amazed every day with what this team can accomplish. Outside of our core we have a handful of part-time workers, mostly artists, who are also very skilled. Because we're a small team, many of us have to wear several hats. For example, Sean is our community manager but also a 3D artist. I myself am the project manager, a programmer and interface developer. This leads to few resources to dedicate towards PR as there's so much work to be done on the game itself. This is something we knew though, and we're going to set some time aside regularly to keep you in the loop. The Town Square module is coming soon. We're in the final months of 2016 now, and you'll finally be inside the first piece of the Identity world in the first quarter of 2017. It's a little later than we originally hoped since we're dedicated to making sure everything is smooth and stable from the first moments. Identity is an enormous undertaking, but the most difficult bits are behind us and we're drawing near! What to Expect The first stage of game development is always very boring to talk about, and also doesn't give us much to show you. Creating those backend systems that drive the game behind the scenes is one of the most important phases, but it's not very glamorous. It's for this reason that most games aren't announced until they're a couple years into development. Now that we're past that point, we're going to be able to start showing you real Identity gameplay. The first gameplay video you'll see is going to be in November and will show you just how detailed and in-depth Identity is becomming! You'll see a walkthrough of our housing system, showing just how far it can be customized and some of the cool fun features you'll find in there. Following that video we'll give you a glimpse of the Town Square features, leading up to its release. It's been a ton of work and a long time coming, but we're moving forward at a great pace and everything is about to get very exciting over here.
