4 pointsHello! I am Supreme Leader, and I am running for Governor through the National Identity Front. Who am I? Allow me to introduce myself in a bit more detail. My name is Supreme Leader, and I'm a Korean American male from Seattle, Washington. I have the innate ability to organize, and lead a group of people, as well as the ability to take criticism well. I am very open-minded, and I enjoy debating with others in order to sharpen my argumentative skills, and to ultimately be a well-rounded and rational person. My idea of the ideal government is one that for the most part, keeps out of the lives of it's people. The role of the government is not to be an invisible gun against the head to the civilians, but rather to help the collective population express their needs through their elected officials. This means that generally for social issues, I find that it's best for the people to decide their own fate, rather than some highly ranked official who has somehow convinced himself of his moral superiority to have the ability to make decisions for the collective majority. Here, I will state my general beliefs for a variety of different heated topics of political discussion. Feel free to question, and challenge me to debate on whatever topic of your choice. As does my party, the NIF, I promote intellectual conversation, and I find that it is one of the most healthy things that you can do for your brain. I'm completely against the idea of exclusion of thought and the idea of thought-policing, as I feel that if you truly are correct in your thinking, then you should have absolutely no problem in making the other person look like a complete idiot in an intellectual discussion. If not, you probably should sit down and consider thinking deeper into your political views. And even in the event that you cannot get to a common ground, being able to disagree while remaining united is the foundation of any great civilization built on intellectual expansion and development. Anyways, let's begin. Topics: Freedom of Speech - This is a topic not being discussed by the other candidates, but I feel that is necessary to address. The right to freedom of speech, historically, has always been created to help support unpopular speech. Popular speech has no need for such laws of protection, because popular speech protects itself. It is important that we hear out every possible political ideology out there, and then weed out those that are weak through proper, intellectual discussion. The concept goes something like this: If you truly believe that you are correct in comparison to another person, then what is the worry in taking to them in a debate? Challenging your views and beliefs with others does nothing more than help sharpen your ability to logical reason, but on top of that it helps weed out inferior or outdated beliefs within our society. Marijuana - I find it to be absolutely useless to waste our time and money on trying to fight against the use of recreational marijuana. However, I still strongly believe that there should be strict regulations on ALL different kinds of drugs. For example, I find that there should be a vote among the people in which we decide the legal age to purchase, and posses certain amounts of marijuana. I believe that in social topics such as these, that it should be in the hands of the people to decide their fate. Gun Control - I am a strong believer in the right to bear arms, for multiple different reasons. Firstly, I find that there is a always a threat of potential government tyranny. The people should be able to fight back against an authoritarian government, if it gets to that extreme. Secondly, the threat of being a victim of crime is always a constant threat as well. The people should be able to defend themselves against those wicked-minded, and also when criminals begin to acknowledge that more and more people are deciding to carry weapons, the crime rate will naturally decrease. However, with more loose policy on gun control, there must be more strict punishments if someone were to be caught misusing their firearms. Longer jail time, and other penalties need to be enforced to discourage this behavior. Minimum Wage - As a person who advocates for free-market, I do not feel there needs to be a need for government regulation on minimum wage. It's more than a myth that government or businesses controls prices, or wages. The market does. The government should not be saturating the market with enforcing fictitious prices and wages out of nowhere, because the market will naturally balance these wages and prices out through supply, demand, and the economic prosperity of the consumer base. The Law - With giving more freedoms to the people, there needs to be harsh punishments to deter these people from turning to a life of crime. This means longer prison sentences, and harsher penalties for committing crimes. Obviously, the punishments will vary dependent on the type of crime. However, with giving the people the privilege of certain liberties, we must give incentive them to maintain a positive lifestyle through having them acknowledge the dire consequences for going against the law of the land. The Government - I find that the role of the government is to accurately represent the people, and to give the people a voice in which they can express their views. Through this, I will help support intellectual discussion within our population, and enforce the law of freedom of speech. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Taxes - This one will be an odd-ball because we don't necessarily know how the economy will function as of now, and we can only make speculate at this point. However, these are my proposed tax plans (due to change, but the general principles will still be the same). Income Tax: Up to $9,000 ------- 3% tax $9000-$30,000 ------- 5% tax $30,000-$80,000 ------- 15% tax $80,000-$100,000 ------- 20% tax $100,000-$200,000 ------- 25% tax $200,000+ ------- 28% tax This proposed tax plan is to ensure power in the middle class, and to support consumerism in the market for not only people of business interests to thrive, but also our consumer population. I will also allow people to write-off donations and charity in their taxes, however to stop tax avoidance, only 70% of the total donations and charity will be able to be written off. This way a person of $200,000 income can't just "donate" $200,000 to a friend's organization, just for his friend to give it back to him, with the initial guy having zero tax liability. However, having the ability to write off donations and charity will still help give incentive people to give back to their communities, while still not taking a huge hit in their net incomes. Business Tax: I propose a low 2% corporate income tax, for a few reasons. 1) Increase in the job market With more businesses having to worry less about how much the government is going to take out of their profits, we should be helping them, as businesses will be an integral part of our economy. With the decrease in focus of taxes, businesses will be able to hire more, pay more, offer better benefits, etc. Now, you may ask: "What if the businesses just pocket the extra cash?" Something to understand is that with everything having to do with a business and a customer, there is always competition. With businesses looking for the best, most motivated, and most efficient workers, they have to offer something with employment that other businesses cannot. This is why we see such an increase of the better workers in the lower class moving to businesses like Amazon IRL, because they offer something to their employees that other businesses just can't compete with. To summarize a bit more, businesses will HAVE to employ more with BETTER benefits in order to even compete in the job market. This is why I don't propose a base minimum wage, because the market will determine this on its own accord, and pushing government regulation on this will do nothing more than harm to our free and open markets. 2) Better benefits for employees Same reasons as above ^^ Competition, competition, and more competition in the job market among employers to attract the best workers they possibly can. 3) If we drastically lower the corporate income tax, we could eliminate the special treatment for dividends and capital gains. The reason we currently have the special rates is to offset the "double taxation" of corporate profits. You can quibble with the term, but the fact remains that a 35% corporate income tax combined with, say, a 43% marginal income tax rate (once we add in the special Medicare surcharges), would be a hell of a disincentive for the very wealthy to invest; you're talking about lowering the projected return on an investment by almost 3/4. There's little question that this would be bad--there's a reason that not even Sweden attempts to levy those sorts of taxes on capital. ---------------------------------------------------------------- I am aware that there are a multitude of topics that I may have missed, but feel free to ask me through a reply! I'd be more than happy to answer or challenge any of you to a debate. Supreme Leader for Governor! President of the National Identity Front (NIF)

3 pointsYes! There will be! There are radio stations around the map that you can rent and you can host your own radio show that anyone with a steroeo can tune in and listen to.

2 pointsRight, but I was thinking of something more organized, such as a directory of channels on TV that people could flip through that are verified by the devs themselves. It'll make it all more realistic.
-
2 pointsI might be wrong but I believe if it were live streamed on YouTube they could view from their homes. Not sure though.
-
2 pointsI doubt this will be added on the developer's side, but I highly suspect that players will end up Twitch streaming events and as far as I'm aware, the TVs available in-game have access to Twitch API and can play streams that are found on their website. So in hindsight, it is a possibility, but it would depend on players to broadcast the events and for the audience to know what stream to tune into Nice thread keep it up, ~ SummitsEdge

1 pointWhat types of cars, mopeds, boats, motorcycles, etc would you like to see in Identity? post a photo or two below i'll start Jeep Wrangler - perfect for offroading and people living in the rural areas Vespa - Mainly for players who live in the city and do not have substantial income to afford better cars

1 pointHi! I tried to look if there was any posts regarding this idea. It is possible that my search skills were poor or I was just blind . Anyway there will be people who design clothes etc. Shouldn't there be a career choice for a Cosmetologist / Hairdresser? Who either has her/his own parlour where you can change the makeup and hairstyles on other players :). Or some other way just to offer these services, say in your home? Some form of "levelling" in this would be that when you advance you would open more different (and more special) styles. All games I played always had the odd NPC offering you this service. Would be nice to have it as a special vocation. What do you guys think? I know I would choose this one haha...

This company has been a part of many startup\established games\communities as contributors to role-play and general shenanigans within its host. We have set our eyes on Identity and sincerely would like to make our way into the community and the player base. It has been a challenging start as we have began introducing our intent and interactions within the Gaming community. Our standard operating procedures include being respectable and not proactively cause grief or conflict within the community. I hope that as our company grows players will be able to identify our operators and operations as an approachable group who love the role-play. Good working relations with all groups is desired by the company but not realistically expected of the player base. On behalf of BADLANDS NATION we are glad to be here and look forward to all that Identity has to offer! "Thank you for choosing Badlands" -Titan 1 Atlas

1 pointHello Citizens of Identity! I'm new at the Identity Community and i've registered myself today. I have send some Money to Support the Devs and get Access to the game soon as possible First I would like to apologize for my bad english because it's not my native language. But i'm sure you know what i mean. I'm from Stuttgart, Germany and 33 years old. The last years i've played a Little bit Planetside 2, ARMA 3, Ashed of the Singularity, Ark, and some others. My Favorit genre is Real Time Strategy but i love open and realistic worlds where i can do what i want. Identity seems to become the perfect game for that. What i've seen at the YouTube Videos is soo great and i can imagine so much more with that Game. I'm very excited to see more from the game and want to Support you as good as possible Cheers, Steven.

1 point10,000 is pretty high. I'm grateful we might have 1,000 players on a server.
-
1 pointIt'll get too crowded. The island is about 200km^2, we can space it out a bit

1 pointThis is probably a silly post but I think it would be cool if people made paintball teams and competed against each other and hosted events .

1 pointThere could be a boxing stadium but who knows as I think there will only be a "Football" (Not American Football) will have the stadium but I could be so wrong and so we have no clue on it for the time being. Why not ask on twitter if there will be a boxing stadium or not? That seems to be a great question I have not seen asked on twitter.

1 pointNot sure if this was recommended already, but while I was searching the forum I came across somebody making a Boxing League and I got an idea. What if the devs somehow found a way to livestream the fights, so then people can watch them live on their TVs at home? Also this could open avenue to new careers, such as sports-casting, venue-management, coaches, fighters, etc.

1 pointThere seems to be so many things in this game that if this ALL happens. Why should anyone play other mmo's anymore?

1 pointCan't wait to start off with my fancy rare new founder that! Im sure nobody else will have it.

1 pointIf you've pledged for any rewards, including cash money you will be receiving those when you start. You will be starting as an adult with basic clothes(nothing fancy like the designer stuff we will see in game that will be up for purchase). You will start with a basic apartment and from there its up to you to find a job and earn money. I am assuming the devs will give us a small amount of money to start (100 dollars seems reasonable) so we won't be completely broke,it might also be on official servers only that we are given the starting money. Rest assured that you won't be begging there are a lot of ways to make money in game and prices will be realistic so I am estimating a burger meal will cost u around 5-8 dollars and a shirt which isn't like a brand name will be around 20. So you won't ever be begging, provided u have a steady income. Money won't be hard to get they will just make things realistic, so you will be able to find a job that pays you a decent wage and you will be able to fulfill your needs with that money. You just won't be a millionaire overnight(if uve played island life you know what Im talking about) Hope that helps

1 pointIt would be crazy man! I'm so looking forward to what we will have accessibility wise when it comes to televisions. If they do it right, which I entrust they will, they could have one of the most unique television systems in the gaming community.
-
1 pointWe could always watch those "24/7 Spongebob Season 3" YouTube live streams!
-
1 pointI would pay in-game currency to watch these matches. Maybe the devs could some how stream these fights, so then people can watch it on their TVs at home.
-
1 pointHaha, I've seen the house tour video around 15 times. It helps me calm my anxiety about the wait, being able to see the gameplay. I'm with you on it being a game I've searched for FOREVER! Welcome to the forums, my friend. Have a good stay, ~ SummitsEdge

1 point@Mastahakill Boxing and other combat sports and sports will not be a career and will only be an extra thing. Gyms will not do anything at release but the devs hope to have it functioning after full release at some point.

1 pointI don't usually make a habit of 'advertising' my organisation, but we're probably the closest thing you'll find to a 'street gang'. That said, we're more like the Black Mafia than the Crips or Bloods, but we will be heavily involved in the drug trade, and there's nothing stopping you from gangbanging if you so choose. I'll add that we will be accepting members whose only interest is gangbanging. If you don't want to involve yourself in the drug-trade, but do want to sit on a corner, wear our colours, and shoot at people who piss you off, that is most certainly an option as well.

1 pointWell what many people forget is that huge player size can also make the game miserable. First it depends on how big the map is. 10.000 player on a small map kann be very crowded. But only 100 players on a big map can make it look too big and you will not meet other people. One of the main things in this game is interacting between people. So the map size is one factor which player amounts will be calculated with. The other one is that too many players also can make the game very hectic. crime here, crime there, a bank robbery there (if you know what i mean) By the way the WoW comaprison is not good. There are thousands of players on one server that is right, but they use a system called pashing. These are virtuals copys of parts of the map so there may be thousands online but you just can't see them. Not good for a game like Identity.

1 pointGood job Bobby, with people posting like this you'll build quite the fanbase of voters!

1 pointYAY good Idea I've always wanted to Roleplay Rob Ford. Not too tall and very obese, this would allow me to do it just right

1 pointOne of polices biggest job is to ensure safe drivers. if a police sees you speeding, going through a red light, doing skids or driving crazy, it should set an allowance for them to give you a ticket. witch would cause a situation where the person driving will have to pull over as from what ive heard there is consiquences in this game, so i guess you would want to pull over and take it on the chin rather than loss your car for trying to evade police. this brings me to another thing such as steeling a car, a stolen car from anywhere should pop up stolen. you should have to buy your car. and only drive the cars you own or friends cars unless you want to be a fool and go to prison but then again we all love a good police chase. i think driving laws is somthing many games need. and this game is THE ONE! i really hope the developers take there time with this game to perfect it. Having boy racers and car meeets etc etc turbos fast cars DRIFTING all add up to a good out come. the people get to try do it with out getting caught, and it being a life style. work to fund your car. and the police will have fun hunting. but very important. POLICE ( BAD BEHAVIOR ) We cant have police breaking the ruels as thats un fair and we would end up with to many people joining the police. the police career should have somthing in there such as bad behaviour, witch will cause them a suspendtion if there breaking road rules, when they WITNESS a crime, it would allow them to pull over or pursue the targer. thank you for reading. there will be stuff ill think later that could have gone in but you get the picture
-
1 pointI heard something about the devs making the map bigger because of more players, but can't give a source. I think there are going to be traffic jams too, especially the highways to the cities. But if you really don't want to be in a traffic jam, you can always use the train!
-
1 pointI for one completely agree with everything that was said. Couldn't have done it better myself! ~Dolore

1 pointWhat a crazy several weeks since the last dev blog post! The increased exposure and attention from the apartment video has resulted in a surge of additional funding for Identity, which has translated into an expanded team with two new full-time developers coming on board and more to join soon. Work has been going very well. Motown, your community manager, has started transitioning into the role of producer to help manage our expanding team. This has helped to reduce some of the work-load on myself so it's been a very welcome change and he's proving to be great for the role. Our lead character artist, Miroslav, has been hard at work on numerous enhancements including building our makeup and blemish systems. This will give us the freedom to add all kinds of makeup options, especially for females but also for men. Your options at character creation will be a bit limited, but a vanity table will let you customize your makeup much further. Blemishes allow us to modify the skin in a whole lot of ways, from just a little blush on the cheeks to full-body freckles and more. Miroslav has also done an excellent job expanding eye customization for your characters which won't just tint the color of the iris but change its entire pattern to properly match the styles seen in those eyes in reality. He's also expanded our options for hair and facial hair. Feature development has also been going quickly and smoothly. Among others, we've built the contacts and friends systems which will be available in the Town Square module. When you meet people in the world you'll be able to exchange contact information, adding their number and name to your phone. This then acts like a friends list in other games, but you can even text or phone them with real working voice systems. It's also integrated with your Steam friends to make finding them easier. Environment art is also moving along, with several artists working full-time to give you beautiful environments. We've hired on some more artists and are even reworking some of the earlier assets we produced to bring the up to our now higher standards. Identity YouTube channel PowerGaming7 had the chance to speak with myself and Motown for a while after asking his viewers for a bunch of questions to ask. The result was an almost one hour long video where we shared all sorts of information you may not have heard before. You can find the link to this video right here. Once again, I want to thank every one of you for your continued support! Every pledge that comes in goes straight into the development of new features and helps us get the game to you a little bit faster. The attention we've seen over the last couple of months has been staggering, and we are excited to show you more of the gameplay soon!
