The delay is true, although the reason that you're learning it here is that the announcement is scheduled to go out tomorrow. You've just gotten it a little earlier than planned. There's more information involved which you'll be getting details on. There's a lot of good stuff in the delay, too!

Whoa, I didn't expect anyone to notice the flyers! I love Lewis! I handed him one when we met at PAX East. The flyers looks like this! Made by Brad Durham, our UI artist!

That's simply because the module isn't released yet.

Hey all, The Asylum Team sent this email out to all of their newsletter subscribers, discussing progress with the game: I'm pretty gutted about the delay, obviously, but it sounds like the devs are once again making progess - can't wait to see the results. Felix

Most games take years to develop, whether they have a team of 10 or a team of 40. The triple A developers like Rockstar and what not, they don't work on a game and finish it within the first year of development, for something ambitious like GTA or identity, it takes time, but no one seems to understand that. If it was Rockstar or a triple A title company making identity, usually they don't mention anything about it till its like about to be released a few months prior, because they don't need the additional funding to kick start their project usually, like indie devs do, which is why this was kickstarted before the development happened, because they needed funding. Since it got enough to kickstart the game, it started development, we are all here on the journey waiting for this game to be released, from day one or whatever (you get the point, its not like a triple A title where they announce it when its nearly completed) So everyone needs to understand that game development is long, tedious, time consuming, expensive, and not a walk in the park, everyone expects so much so quickly, when in reality its not that easy. The reason why i wouldn't want to become a game developer is because i have a short fuse and everytime someone would bitch about my game and say its a scam id tell them to go fuck themselves, but that's because i don't have the patience to put up with little delinquent brats who get what they want, usually when they want it. Yes Asylum mentioned PR is important for them and it hasn't been well for them, because their community manager is also one of the main developers for the game and would rather spend his time working on the game to get it out to us. Alot of what they are doing, they want to keep a surprise, they aren't going to show you everything they have in the game, otherwise when you play it, nothing will be new to you, nothing will be exciting, nothing will impress you, because you've seen it all before, whats the point in having a new game, that everyone knows everything about, there's no spark. The developers want to have a good first impression on everyone, as they've said, so instead of whinging because they are only releasing models here and there and not active, doesn't mean they aren't working on the game, it doesn't mean its a scam, it mean's they are showing you sneak peaks to keep you updated on their progress when they make a significant amount of progress. Remember, game development can have it's setbacks, hence when you're a developer its never a good idea to put an ETA date, because chances are, its going to be pushed back, and people are going to get salty.Just my opinion.

Hyped for the spatial OS partnership. That's going to be huge. We could literally have 1000 player servers.

I do think, that they are not more than a month delayed and more like a few weeks as the events and stuff was likely over a period 2 to 3 weeks time and so I estimate 2 weeks or 3 weeks max on the delay as like they said, they hired more staff and also are not far off on completing the module.
  11. 1 point
They don't like giving specifics because they don't want to not hit a target and so no specific date means no specific target to have done by! This is good because then they won't feel they need to rush and instead can work at the steady pace already have. @DrFelixPhD You have forgot a part of the update.... it was under John's name quoted below:

I really hope this game doesn't disappointment when i comes down to patient assessments, transporting, sirens, lights, dispatch info, dispatch feedback (we all know our dispatch is our lifeline), and lots of treatment options while on scene and en route to which ever medical center the patient may choose.

F-350 i run one just like it. i very much love the look and the functionality and handling of the Ford Chief body compared to bigger framed Ten-8 EMS equipment like that International, the F-350 wins hands down and is my personal favorite.

They dont have at time line because things change as pointed out before, and if you delay dates that people already know about you get a bunch of salty pricks instead of supporters. 15 hours ago, paratus stated that theres going to be a notice about the delay, clearing up any issues, why theres a delay and what it means for identity. You say all the points are pretty valid, then you point out one of the main points as if you didnt read them, and still ask why theres no eta. lol show me where a dev answered in a FAQ ' i estimate, i think it will come, or i have no clue.. No one has ever said you havent got a right to be worried, its how people go about it, by slandering the team and their work stating its a scam and stupid bullshit like that, as the devs have already stated " if you think its a scam, please don't purchase any pledge tiers until you believe otherwise, wait till something more solid comes out" but what do people do? still buy pledge rewards then call scam, or just slander because they can.

I think A lot of the problems come with the platform (My Opinion). I don't hate EA as much as Ubisoft, I guess I hate most publishers because they don't care about games unless they make money... They will destroy games to make money.

I've noticed that some people are starting to get paranoid. Ppl are allowed to feel how they feel, and no one really has the right, to tell them otherwise. I know exactly how you feel. When I seen the previews of Identity, and did a lil bit of checking, I decided to make the jump to PC from console BECAUSE of Identity. I'm already playing other games on pc tho, as Identity was the main reason, but not the only reason. I went out, and got a computer I can't afford, pledged money($250) I didn't have. All because I'm that excited to do whatever I can to help it become a reality. I've never done this before, and your damn right I'm worried...Anyone who puts money into something to help make it become real, and never see it get there is disappointing. We also have the right as "investors" to voice our worries. But there is a right way to do that and a wrong way. Don't forget that it's an investment though, and sometimes they don't work out the way you want it to. You think any of us, put together and multiplied, could possibly be more depressed, Than the guys who put their blood, sweat, and tears into creating something from scratch.? Ask ppl for help bringing this idea to life(kickstarter), And have things fall apart, and it not come to fruition. You think our donations measure up to anything compared to what the Devs have put into Identity. Delays are inevitable, look at GTA V. That game was plagued with problems. STILL has problems. But I'm certain it's not a scam, or I wouldn't have pledged, and got a custom game rig for when it released lol. NO ONE is saying it's NEVER coming. It was never etched in stone when it was gonna be released. And this is why they don't wanna give ppl answers before they have a solid, definitive answer. Anytime you pledge to a game, it's a calculated risk, as is ANY investment. YOU can either be patient and see where it goes, or write it off, it's your choice. But please remember your not the only person to put money into Identity. I'm sure the people who have put way more than us, into Identity, aren't freaking out every month, thinking it's a scam. Patience my friends, we will be looking back when we are enjoying the fruits of our spoils, and thinking how glad we are we waited a lil extra time to have things more complete, to have the best possible experience. Because trust me if they rush it out for the complainers, THEN you're all gonna be pissed the game is all buggy and don't wanna work right. I've seen plenty of games on Steam, since I got here, that fit that bill.

I was wondering if there would be jobs in the module but from what I am thinking there will be.

https://www.identityrpg.com/info/modules/townsquare/ The stuff on that page is what is gonna be in the first module.
  25. 1 point
That is right but I am sure that your pledge car will, houses don't transfer but character stuff does e.g. if you are wanted in server 1 then join server 2 it is that the wanted level carries over. I have no clue on careers. Money I am not very certain about but I would say your pledge items obviously carry over and if you have $0 from your pledge then you still have $0 but if you had $1k then you have that $1k. If I decorate my apartment in server 1 and then go to server 2 I have to start over. "Houses" are limited and so you will not own the same house on the other servers you join. The full extent to the transfer / link is not known and I could be wrong with some or all of it. @HairyGrenade can clear it up likely.

You won't have to wait long. I heard the module might come out this next month or so. - Hopefully

Frankly I don't really care what one does to their own business. If they're not well planned and disorganized, it's more than likely they'll fail.

I missed you guys at pax east?! Love the flyer! Wish I had one.
  30. 1 point
I'm not 100% sure, but I think those numbers are updated manually, just like the progress bar on the Town Square Module. So if they get a big jump in pledges and new citizens, or after a significant amount of time, they'll update it. I think I read somewhere that this is the case, but I couldn't find the post where I saw this, so this may or may not be the reason why. Regardless, it's just cool to see numerically wise how many people are dedicated to this game and want to support it!

The video that im refering to are the ONLY one I found and its with an appartment where Identity go through, and that was posted first time 19. jan 2015, (thats more than a year ago in my callender) that same video have been posted over and over in other videos. So if you can show me that other video that are not the same then please let me know. Here are the link to the video im talking about: Best regards Turaxis

I guess what we want is something that we can say, damn they really going to make this happen and if the team released more content that is more interactive that would really help people stay active within the community and probably draw more pledges into the community.

I fully understand youre point of view, however the game company should release at least a teaser every maby 6 month, to keep the interest up for the most interested players. Rockstar came with a mix of ingame clips, from their tests before they launched the game, they do it before new updates etc. The only clip I have seen from Identity are 1+ year old, and they say "this is what we did in a few month, think what we can do with youre support in a year" Now there have gone over a year but nothing new to watch... Really ? My point is that if Identity staff are not showing anything, then there are a big risk of loosing people, instead of keeping them. I already seen videos where people call this scam. I dont belive it is, and for sure hope that im right. But as long as Identity are not showing any progress then I can understand peoples worry. Alot of talk, all from loose rumers to so called confirmed news, but I as an old player would like to see something (anything) from Identity so I for sure know that this is ongoing, and there is progress. And im sorry but a written forum text are simply not enough. There was a video clip, where there was some so called comfirmed dates (I can post it later if anyone interested to see it), where it sayd that first beta should be available in first quartal of 2017 (meaning thats like within 1 week from now), I can understand if that is delayed, but maby Identity staff can confirm this or deny this ? Would be nice to get some dates what are planned for us (that allready payed to support the development) thats not the same as saying that it will be ready for that date, but something to hope for. And a video clip from something ingame, just about anything. Best regards Turaxis

Possibly you could record using a screen recording software, upload it to youtube, and submit it to the devs. They said there will be movies being streamed in theatres, possibly in game movies via youtube could be streamed as well.

But they'd be absolutely shit so theres no point. It's like handing over source filmmaker to a 14 year old who has no or little concept of how to use it. That'll be the sort of quality the majority of player made movies will come out as.

I know im bloody late to the party but theres no need to be salty guys. If you are wanting to HELP new people then be prepared to listen to the same question over and over. No need to burn them alive as soon as they mention the word GTA. Keep it cool and answer their question even though you want to put their neck in a noose. No need to deter people from the game from bad support to a new member.

If this is supposed to be based off of the United States, and revolve around the USD, so I don't see them implementing uniforms from other countries purely for the sake of looking different. Even though the uniforms of PD/FD/EMS look very similar, they're usually easily distinguishable, so I don't see this as being a problem. I am also not a huge fan of the jumpsuit look, too much to get in the way - tac pants and a polo shirt are plenty, plus the vehicles and equipment will look far different.
  46. 1 point
On official servers, it'll be set that you can see the name of a player who your crosshair or cursor is currently over. There will also be an option for community servers which hides all names of players until they "wave" at you, to introduce themselves.

Whoops, I didn't get the body armor picture to show. Here is another I found on the internet with EMS in vests
  48. 1 point
I don't know where you guys are getting your paramedic ideas Those all look like Lifeflight or European outfitted paramedics. This is what a typical paramedic looks like. I love the dark blue polo with tac pants shown in the left picture. However where I live, city paramedics are mandated to wear bullet-resistant vests for protection like in the picture on the right. Some people might say that if you haven't been feeling well and call for an ambulance and you get 2 men in body armor that show up at your door is a little overkill. However take that same unit and now they have to respond to a domestic violence or active shooter/crime call with police because someone decided to shoot someone else and they need help. You don't pick and choose your calls and you don't have the luxury of dicking around deciding whether or not a vest is good to put on or not for that run.
  49. 1 point
That's not quite what he meant by that description. In Identity, committing a crime flags you in such a manner that a police officer can charge you with a crime. If you run a red light, you're not immediately charged with the crime; however, if an officer sees you run the red light he can pull you over and will have the ability to charge you with that crime. This mechanic keeps police from being abusive and charging for crimes which you did not commit. That said some major crimes may charge you automatically, but that can be controlled by the server operator/community. This is how it'll be done on the official servers to prevent griefing. There are times where gameplay in a multiplayer environment can't be exactly realistic to maintain it's fun for both parties. More "hardcore" communities may wish to adjust these rules, and they can.

    1. Bailouts = Not anarchist nor freemarket, don't make me pay taxes just because you fail at making profits. Laissez-faire capitalism is the only economy Anarcho-Capitalism preaches. Taxes don't help businesses making money, if anything businesses are the ones who get hurt the most by taxes since taxation lowers profits. Also taxation is involuntary therefor theft. If you need money to keep your business alive, get a loan, don't make everybody else suffer and pay for it through taxes because your business is a failure. 2. Guns don't kill people, bad guys do. If everybody carries guns it will be easier to take down a mass shooter/bad guy/robber. Criminals and psychopaths love gun free zones because nobody can disarm them or neutralize them in those zones, but in a society where everybody carries a firearm it's easier to take out the bad guys. Police take their time to get to the crime scene and by that time innocent lives might have been lost which could've been avoided if everybody carried a firearm. Also I'd like to defend my property and business with an AR15 without the government telling me how to run or protect my business, thank you. 3. Private police and security will get higher pay depending on the quality of their services, therefor do a better job since they compete with other police departments and higher pay helps security departments afford better equipment/weapons to protect communities. Lower class working people will earn more money and find more opportunities in a anarcho-capitalist society due to no taxes and privatization of everything, which produces plenty of new businesses offering tons of jobs for all lower and middle class peoples. Taxes means less profits, less profits means less businesses, less businesses means less jobs, less jobs means more poor people.
