Most games take years to develop, whether they have a team of 10 or a team of 40. The triple A developers like Rockstar and what not, they don't work on a game and finish it within the first year of development, for something ambitious like GTA or identity, it takes time, but no one seems to understand that. If it was Rockstar or a triple A title company making identity, usually they don't mention anything about it till its like about to be released a few months prior, because they don't need the additional funding to kick start their project usually, like indie devs do, which is why this was kickstarted before the development happened, because they needed funding. Since it got enough to kickstart the game, it started development, we are all here on the journey waiting for this game to be released, from day one or whatever (you get the point, its not like a triple A title where they announce it when its nearly completed) So everyone needs to understand that game development is long, tedious, time consuming, expensive, and not a walk in the park, everyone expects so much so quickly, when in reality its not that easy. The reason why i wouldn't want to become a game developer is because i have a short fuse and everytime someone would bitch about my game and say its a scam id tell them to go fuck themselves, but that's because i don't have the patience to put up with little delinquent brats who get what they want, usually when they want it. Yes Asylum mentioned PR is important for them and it hasn't been well for them, because their community manager is also one of the main developers for the game and would rather spend his time working on the game to get it out to us. Alot of what they are doing, they want to keep a surprise, they aren't going to show you everything they have in the game, otherwise when you play it, nothing will be new to you, nothing will be exciting, nothing will impress you, because you've seen it all before, whats the point in having a new game, that everyone knows everything about, there's no spark. The developers want to have a good first impression on everyone, as they've said, so instead of whinging because they are only releasing models here and there and not active, doesn't mean they aren't working on the game, it doesn't mean its a scam, it mean's they are showing you sneak peaks to keep you updated on their progress when they make a significant amount of progress. Remember, game development can have it's setbacks, hence when you're a developer its never a good idea to put an ETA date, because chances are, its going to be pushed back, and people are going to get salty.Just my opinion.

I think this is kind of cool, let me know what you think. I plan on making more

The delay is true, although the reason that you're learning it here is that the announcement is scheduled to go out tomorrow. You've just gotten it a little earlier than planned. There's more information involved which you'll be getting details on. There's a lot of good stuff in the delay, too!

To conclude, that the devs wont be very clear on dates. They are like THE1THEONLYGONZO said a 9 man team, which is very ambitious with this project. Now i guess we can assume that we will get hard feedback end of March middle of April, well i hope but honestly no promises xD. Its a very hard job to manage and even with large amount of money, the team will only give us final dates when they are satisfied. So i guess we just gotta watch the feed and hopefully we get something! But like NARC said, there are salty people that will complain if, what is given isn't up to scratch. -Branden

Impatience. Contrary to popular belief vague release dates, and delays are very common in video games. Even blockbuster developers delay and give vague releases (look at Rockstar and RDR2 and Agent). The main reasoning behind this is contractual obligation with platforms such as Sony, Microsoft, Steam, etc. Most developers will give a vague date to please those backing the game, however it is a rough guideline and normally is set up to allow for a delay from the developer. As for keeping everyone up to date and informed, that is truly at the discretion of the development team. Asylum, like many other companies, are keeping the information regarding their game limited. This is not only to prevent other developers from possibly stealing the concept, and also acts as advertising method for the public. Games can take multiple years to be properly made, and some games have even taken a decade to make. If your that impatient, get off your fat ass, and make your own damn game. Then we can tell you that you are a scam and never going to come out, when you release a vague date or have to delay. SMH at this entitled culture we have now.

I guess what we want is something that we can say, damn they really going to make this happen and if the team released more content that is more interactive that would really help people stay active within the community and probably draw more pledges into the community.

Guess what? The devs already stated that they are behind schedule and the module is delayed because of Pax East and GDC 2017! They released a apartment customisation video on 31st November 2016! That is 5 months ago not over a year and so you need to keep up to date more. They have done multiple Q&A's already. They have released a couple of dev blogs too!

I fully understand youre point of view, however the game company should release at least a teaser every maby 6 month, to keep the interest up for the most interested players. Rockstar came with a mix of ingame clips, from their tests before they launched the game, they do it before new updates etc. The only clip I have seen from Identity are 1+ year old, and they say "this is what we did in a few month, think what we can do with youre support in a year" Now there have gone over a year but nothing new to watch... Really ? My point is that if Identity staff are not showing anything, then there are a big risk of loosing people, instead of keeping them. I already seen videos where people call this scam. I dont belive it is, and for sure hope that im right. But as long as Identity are not showing any progress then I can understand peoples worry. Alot of talk, all from loose rumers to so called confirmed news, but I as an old player would like to see something (anything) from Identity so I for sure know that this is ongoing, and there is progress. And im sorry but a written forum text are simply not enough. There was a video clip, where there was some so called comfirmed dates (I can post it later if anyone interested to see it), where it sayd that first beta should be available in first quartal of 2017 (meaning thats like within 1 week from now), I can understand if that is delayed, but maby Identity staff can confirm this or deny this ? Would be nice to get some dates what are planned for us (that allready payed to support the development) thats not the same as saying that it will be ready for that date, but something to hope for. And a video clip from something ingame, just about anything. Best regards Turaxis

Possibly you could record using a screen recording software, upload it to youtube, and submit it to the devs. They said there will be movies being streamed in theatres, possibly in game movies via youtube could be streamed as well.

From what ive seen in previous posts i dont think you can. Someone else wanted a business selling the same products but i believe it was pointed out that you will not be able to manufacture/sell electrical devices. This is only what i have seen and can remember from the past, it may change in the future. Many thanks @JamesLuck01 for passing this on

There won't be actual cameras that you can use to film in the game! Filming would take up a lot of network on the servers, so they're not gonna implement that unless they figure out some way to fix that issue. Possibly as an alternative, you could go into journalism or maybe radio? I think those may be the closest thing to a camera operator

There won't be any fast food restaurants, but I'm pretty sure you can have a regular one! A regular one, I mean where you can go inside, sit down, and can kind of hang out while eating (I'm pretty sure you can go inside, not 100% sure though). If you look at this post, one of the devs goes more in depth about restaurants and food! I hope you make your burger shop, though, I'd definitely eat there!

(b) Every individual has freedom to start business of his own choice. (c) All economic activities are guided by the motive of profit. (d) Individuals are the owners and acquire property and pass it on to next heir after death. (e) Government has little role to play in the functioning of the economy. Prices of goods and services are determined by the market forces of demand and supply. Important Business Information Tax on businesses is 10% on company profit. After employees have been paid, inventory bought, etc. Depending on what the company reports as profit a business could nearly have no tax! The Tale of Lucious Times Lucious grew to be homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In a city of crime Lucious had to be on the lookout at every turn. In Lucious' young life he grew to be very aware of the crime filled city and knew he had to do something to ensure his safety. At 15, Lucious started an organization with a few neighborhood boys called "The Peacekeepers". These boys were brutal. They cleaned the streets of crime in the most direct ways possible. Showing up to criminal hideouts and wasting away every member present, making fake visits to prisons and jails to poison and eliminate those criminals on the inside, making appointments with the LAPD to let THEM know how things would be done. The Peacekeepers were vigilantes at the finest. The city soon had a crime rate so low new schools were being built and more people migrated to the lovely city of Los Angeles. Through all the harsh deeds The Peacekeepers had done Lucious never was present for the actual action. He was the mastermind, the planner, the brain of the whole operation. Sitting behind a desk as leader of The Peacekeepers. Oh how things looked great! Lucious had made something out of nothing and became a city icon and hero as he grew older. Though soon, things made a turn for the worst. Lucious' closest partner, his beautiful fiance was capture by a man known by the name Gustavo Fring. A now well-known high profile methamphetamine drug lord. He did so because by cleaning up the city Lucious made distribution for Mr. Fring come to a complete stop in the area. Lucious grew furious, so furious he began to walk into a whole new light. The Peacekeepers became a weapon at Lucious' disposal. He thought long and hard and then finally had a plan. After finding where Fring was located Lucious and his team of over 200 men approached the location, guns loaded and ready for anything. However, Fring was already aware of Lucious' presence and decided to retaliate. Fring killed Lucious' fiance, then sent out total war upon Lucious and his men. In the end only two men were left standing; Fring and Lucious. After few words, Lucious caught leverage and killed Fring. Though Lucious was severely injured by gunshot. He called the LAPD. With quickness, Lucious was saved and had chance to speak with the LAPD Chief of Police. He thanked Lucious for his doings and after a long conversation of tears the chief left. Lucious began to realize how much he'd loss. All his men, his fiance, his hold on the city from crime all gone! Three weeks later Lucious walked out of the hospital, grab all $789,211 he'd raised with his people, and began to leave town for a new home. A place called Turtle Beach on Identity Island. However, when he got to the town line he found something waiting for him. Over half the city was standing their with gold-colored gold-scented candles. Some of them stood to give thanks, but many stood ready to follow him wherever he went. A woman by the name of Dorris Jean approached Lucious and told him this: "We give these candles to represent who you are to the city. Forever will you be the gold we all love, the gold we all know has provided, the gold we all know will pay the price. For to us you are a leader and friend. For you have become like royalty in this city. And with you royalty we be your royal family." Lucious was proud. All negative feelings previous washed away. Lucious now felt the obligation to continue to lead. For he knew he was wise and could give great leadership. This time he wouldn't limit himself to the leadership of a groups of boys who run a city, no. That was below him now. Now he needed to lead in higher heights where he could have greater impact and influence. A position of power such as Governor would do the trick! So he then decided to venture into the political field of leadership once he arrived in his new home. A few hours later after a celebratory evening Lucious and the now called Royal Family left. 12 days later they arrived in Turtle Beach on the Identity island and the rest is soon to be foretold...

Hey all, So while I know this was a thing on "Ye Olde Forumme", I thought it might be a good idea to provide quick way of accessing every screenshot and piece of concept art that the dev team releases on Facebook. Hopefully, I'll do my very best to keep it up-to-date, but don't hold your breath ;). If anyone finds any that aren't included here, feel free to put them in the comments. Thanks! Your chum, Felix.

I used the exclamation marks on each "Fact" I pointed out. I don't intend to look like a jerk, but facts are facts and well if you don't like then well tough.. Facts are the hard truth and well not everyone can bare them, so don't get upset over being given them. Here is another fact, we all want updates, but do you see me asking/ complaining about not enough updates? No is the answer because I am patient and well I have been waiting since day 1 of the kickstarter. I pledge a hefty amount and I just have patience and I trust in the developers to perform. Back to the other point; The community manager known as Motown has 2 jobs being, (Community Manager) one to keep us updated and the other being a lead 3D artist. He recently took on the role as producer too which he is busy with a lot of stuff and well I and most others would rather him spend more time on development.

So, I just bit my cheek and made my jump into supporting Identity for alpha/beta access. It's pretty cheap right now considering other games prices so i went with it before release and price jumps. I look forward to playing this enticing world with all of you! This game truelly looks like loads of fun that i could spend hours on. I check updates weekly for anything new that catches my interest. On my first launch i plan on being in a supportive role via whats available ie: doctor, nurse, wildlife? As for any goals or something to look forward to, i would think i first just want to explore get a feel for the game, try my hand in painting, and see where the rest takes me. I can't wait to see where this game takes me! As a general introduction of myself i reside in the states, idaho. Iam 24 years of age. I am hoping i can touch base with a few new friends and get my identity rolling pretty smooth, hopefully stay out of trouble to haha. We'll see

How is it rude to tell people to get off their ass and make their own game if they are impatient? Also nowhere did I specify you, so your feelings of being the victim is on you. I am simply stating to make your own game, if anyone thinks they can do it better than Asylum is, with the resources they have. Goddam this age of professional offence and victims is retarded. It is honestly more rude to question the developers like this, on a forum they made for us, and about a game they are pioneering with limited resources.

IF YOU ARE A GAME DEVELOPER, YOU DON'T GIVE DATES, WHETHER ITS THE END OF THE MONTH OR NOT jesus christ, if they say end of this month, then it gets delayed again, its going to be the same reaction that you'd get if you said a specific date, so no you're not right there, you're still going to get people salty if you have to delay it for whatever game development reason. Probably within the next month or two, the module would probably release, in my opinion, only because it was delayed abit, not alot, they havent said anything about a date, or around about date, incase a delay again. The beta will be out like 2018 bro, its only the modules this year, first module soon, the second combat module not far off the first module, then the racing module maybe end of this year if they can fit it in, but its more complicated then youd think with vehicle physics. You need to do your research because you don't look like you know anything about the game.

Donations help to fund the development and as Exactakatsuki said, they could stop and legally there is nothing to be done. But as far as the developers and community seem, it looks like a strongly supported game going on. Nobody is forcing you to donate or purchase the game, but a little amount can go a long way towards the game. Plus a small amount of incentives with every donation kind of helps you out when the game does come around.

Frank has been good to us and I ensured he would have all his members back together due to the fact that he can't post! It was simply a favor. So don't assume I actively recruit criminals for fun like some fool. You wanna call me corrupt then call me corrupt! I know what I am. No slick talking cliche politician is gonna change that! And like myself and my manager just stated, we didn't state any one supported us. We stated that he was in OUR good grace. Please, read before you post. Your advice is to run a clean campaign, how's that going for you Bobby? I run my game campaign the way I see if. If I openly accept aid from criminals then so be it! I'll be committing no crimes if that's what you mean to imply! Remember this is a game and my policies work the best. Nobody wants the stress of the real world in a game. Stick to being slick Bobby. Run your campaign and I'll run mine. You wanna be the cliche politician go ahead. Don't get in a social brawl for what you feel may be a shot at my campaign.

Implementation of Musical Instruments This is just an idea that I hope the Developers will see and further develop down the line. It would be a fun and new role-play aspect that no other game that I know of have ever done. It would affect many of the businesses in the world with band merchandise, concert tickets, and maybe even being able to purchase their music on a player's phone or computer. I can see this adding a major aspect to the game and it would be the first of its kind.
  38. 1 point
It would be nice if the developers turned it into a career. You'd have to start from the bottom of course, playing a guitar on the streets for change, but then eventually you could start a band and climb to stardom. Well, that's how I can see it happening.

It's still far behind Identity. Identity is releasing modules very soon. Also they are most likely going to give beta around Q3 of this year. It will most likely release the start of 2018. Then it will get lots of players and money took keep on updating. People won't just abandon the game, becuase the will be lots of hours put into playing and people will be apart of communities. Of course it will be competition, but if 'everywhere' does come out, will you still be playing Identity? Becuase I sure will.
  40. 1 point
This is what I fear. Although Identity is going to be the better game (I'm absolutely positive about that btw, with a community like this and the sheer determination and work ethic this team has been displaying, I have no doubts it will make gaming history), I fear that Everywhere may eat up some of the attention and audience that otherwise could have been led towards Identity. I sincerely hope Everywhere turns out to be a flop (lol) so that way it's audience will be directed towards Identity and experience what quality RPG's have to offer.

To answer a few of the questions here, there is a large variety of standard food items you'll find in cafes and restaurants, as well as player-made food. Different sorts of food and drink will "fill" you up more than others and faster. Some may even have side-effects. Generally, good player-created food will be the most efficient for consumption. You'll also be able to create your own bars, cafes and restaurants. I'm not sure how lucrative they'll be to own, but a player food-place could turn into a good social point. There will be three places in the Town square module that you can sample food and alcohol: there's a bar/lounge in the hotel, a cafe as well as the cinema. As for the questions concerning a hunger mechanic, there is such a system although you can't die from starvation. There will be some penalties, though. Food consumption won't be forced upon you enough to be an annoyance, but you'll want to grab a bite here and there.
