3 points1. Yes the 3 cities are called; Ash Hill, Roseport and Turtle Beach. 2. We have no info on this but it could be but maybe not. 3. You are making out the map is one big city.... it is not, it is a island and it is not GTA!!! 4. They will have minimal UI's. The territorial controlled areas will be known by something but I doubt it. 5. There will be neighbourhoods which are small, not big but i don't think so because crime will be by players and so anywhere could have high crime, it don't matter if it is run down or not as there could be no one doing crime there! 6. Streets likely but IDK about home address' because there is no info given. 7. Gangs can do as they want, like the leader is a person and so he can choose this.... but you will have likely keep an eye out on who is who. 8. This could be player to player or player to NPC. 9. I guess that is apart of the freedom but people have already started with them on the forum.

2 pointsI don't seem to be able to stay in the same place in the same job for long, but I need to do a bit of everything, and this is something I will most likely be interested. I will visit your farm, and while I could probably (and maybe just barely) pay for a meal there, chances are I will ask for some work to do, for which I will ask in return to stay one or two nights and have something to eat. Maybe some story telling after dinner and some whiskey.

2 pointsCount me in the group who will not use voice. I don't even look for a dedicated text server. I just don't talk. I write. No one is required to read my text though, to the same extent I'm not required to talk. There's people in real life who cannot talk, right? Isn't this a roleplay? Well, that's my role. I play at nights. I have kids nearby I don't want to disturb. It *never* has stopped me from having fun online. So, one more in the OP list here.

2 pointsWe are a Hardcore Roleplaying group that have years of experience between us. We are looking for members that want to either learn more about the Biker life and RP with us or if you already know just RP with just and have a good time.

2 pointsFuel is not explosive in real life. Yes it can burn, but it won't explode. It's about as explosive as water. BeamNG has it realistic, where it just burns like a real car would, and on occasion, a nice fireball, but that's not an explosion. Windows and tyres can burst though. I hope the cars in Identity will not be able to explode, but they should be able to burn, like BeamNG. I would be ok with a damage model that is a mix between gta 4 and BeamNG, but no explosions, please. I am so tired of games and movies lying to people about how fuel actually works, so would be nice to see more games like BeamNG where it's realistic.
-
2 pointsIdentity's vehicle damage model will be more comparable to a GTA game than BeamNG. It would take someone with more knowledge than I to explain the technical reasons for this. I'm not a programmer, but from my understanding, we can't send such complicated network packets across the server to other clients without sacrificing server performance. Ideally, the damage would mostly be clientside, but the vehicle damage would appear different for each client viewing the vehicle.

1 pointDo you want to eat healthy foods, but everywhere you look is too expensive? Well look no further, Calypso’s Farm is the place for you! Calypso’s is a local farm aiming to provide the community with affordable and healthy produce! Currently, we own two fields, but plan on expanding our business all across Identity Island, while still maintaining that farm fresh taste you all know and love! From sweet strawberries to succulent tomatoes, well grow all sorts of crops! We at Calypso’s Farm preach quality over quantity, and will never compromise our wholesome, pesticide-free food in order to please big businesses! Whether you need to cater a company picnic, feed the homeless, or re-stock the fridge, Calypso’s Farm has it all! We hope to see you in the future, and remember, Calypso’s Farm: Freshness you Can Taste! (Calypso’s Farm is more along the lines of a small business, rather than a big corporation. Since there isn’t much information on farms, a lot of this is just speculation and is subject to change. ) Crops being Grown: Tomatoes Potatoes Wheat Cotton Strawberries Grapes Carrots Apples Oranges Plums Pears Peaches Blueberries Sugar cane Cocoa beans Animal Products (If in game): Milk Cheese Butter Wool Leather Eggs Beef Pork Chicken Silk Jobs: CEO: Owner of Calypso’s Farm Manager (1 available): One is appointed to each of the fields we own. Managers also work with the CEO and assistant managers in other administrative activities such as marketing and advertising. Assistant Manager (1 available): Similar to the manager title, the assistant manager is for those who would like a more authoritative title, but are unable to commit large amounts of time to the farm. They will assist existing managers in the work they're assigned to do, and when there are no managers present on the farm, assistant managers will assume the role of manager temporarily. Harvester (3 available): Once the crops are fully grown, harvesters will go around the fields and harvest all of the crops. They will also plant the seeds for the next harvest, and maintain the health of the crops. Harvesters will also be allowed to use tractors if the field they’re working on has one. Greenhouse Specialist (0 available): They will oversee the growth of special greenhouse crops that cannot be grown out in public, so as to conceal the illegality of said crops. Workers (1 available): They tend to the upkeep of the farm, which includes repairing broken fences, getting rid of waste, and weeding the fields. If anyone has any suggestions or criticisms as far as crops or jobs go, I appreciate any help! Pm me if you’re interested in working with me or leave a comment! Thank you! (Also if this post looks familiar, I had a different farm but wanted to change the name. 1 pointNo if you sell the house the person don't get it how you designed it, I meant you can get people to hire you to go in their house and design it for them with payment in cash. Houses are still partly instanced remember and so when it is sold it likely takes your stuff and is put in a bank storage. Which the new owner will buy the property and will have it as plain as you had it when buying.

1 pointCar fires wouldn't be randomly generated. I Don't Know even if there will be car fires, but likely if the car has it's own problems and is not maintained then there could be a car fire but I have no clue on that stuff as cars will be mentioned more, closer to the 3rd module. I guess the fires will only spread a certain distance and also actually thinking about it I could be wrong about no building fires but I highly doubt there will be.

1 pointAnyone can be any age group and destroy the game-play. It doesn't just happen from a younger age range, as maturity comes in all ages and same with immaturity. Maturity is a higher percentage in adults but it does range and so every person is a different in a variety of ways. Trolls tend to start at a younger age but they will always will be a troll when they grow up in a slight way. You cannot condemn the younger age group to it as it is in all age groups and not 1. Also as long as the kids don't give out there address and personal info they are fine. If they play, it is at there own risk and the risk of there parents + there own choice, no one is forcing them and also many of the younger range can RP a lot better than some older ones, but it differs to each individual. I totally agree but we need diversity e.g. all ages minimum 11+ because well 12 is when they start secondary school.
-
1 pointhonestly, i don't think there will be many people that are between 13-16 years old on here. this won't be their type of game most likely, they'll probably be playing on console or on steam. i think most people in that age bracket that will be playing will either be going through that phase or are playing from their parents account. of course i can't be for sure, and am solely guessing, but it seems to me a game like identity that's basically real life but with a twist doesn't seem like the type of game that will appeal to most of the younger audience. now if they were to come on here for their own reasons, i wouldn't be scared of them destroying the game but rather scared for them. we don't know these people that will be playing this game, they could be anything from flat out bullies who will pick on them because of their voice or fashion choice all the way to pedophiles. if the younger generation was to play this game, it would probably be to play it seriously but i would fear people picking on them or trying to pick them up.
-
1 pointSeriously, if you are not interested in text roleplay, why not just not write in this one little thread. There are people who are interested in it. That's what I am looking to identify. If this doesn't interest you move on FFS. Really, no loss to me.
-
1 pointYes, the DEV's have said you could own several apartments or build housing in the world! and then be able to rent it out to people at your price, this could happen either on the official servers but also on community ones, but on the community server's the rules might be different!
-
1 pointNo, that was in no way shape or form in context to you argument. "Any game is a Roleplay game if try." Does not add up to "Let's make a server text based in a game where everybody is gonna be talking." Two completely different parallels there.
-
1 pointI would really only play a game that has text based anything, because I do not like the idea of everyone know what I sound like. I would have to be terribly good friends with someone before I would even think of voicing with them. I have roleplayed text based or years, since I was 11 years old on sites like Avidgamers and even through Neopets, to now where I am mostly Roleplaying through SecondLife. I would much prefer text capabilities, over voice capabilities any day, as it gives the opportunity for me to think, use my imagination, get those brain muscles flexing. Yes it's tough and can take a long time, but text allows people to be creative with their writing. I find that text based role play is a lot like writing a book, it's just you aren't writing the whole thing you have multiple contributors.
-
1 pointFor people who haven't RP'd, as the OP spoke of, I can see how one would think it would seem to break immersion. IMO, having voice only breaks immersion, since they're are no voice changing abilities in this game. For RP'ers, you can be anything and describe yourself and be that character you wish to be through writing it in text-based chat. With voice only, if I'm some big, burly dude and then I speak with some girly voice, THAT breaks immersion...completely. As an RP'er, I won't be RP'ing on this game unless they A) include voice changing (even if it would mean allowing MODS to do so) or B) having optional access to a text-based chat for the sole purpose of Roleplay.

1 pointWhat a crazy several weeks since the last dev blog post! The increased exposure and attention from the apartment video has resulted in a surge of additional funding for Identity, which has translated into an expanded team with two new full-time developers coming on board and more to join soon. Work has been going very well. Motown, your community manager, has started transitioning into the role of producer to help manage our expanding team. This has helped to reduce some of the work-load on myself so it's been a very welcome change and he's proving to be great for the role. Our lead character artist, Miroslav, has been hard at work on numerous enhancements including building our makeup and blemish systems. This will give us the freedom to add all kinds of makeup options, especially for females but also for men. Your options at character creation will be a bit limited, but a vanity table will let you customize your makeup much further. Blemishes allow us to modify the skin in a whole lot of ways, from just a little blush on the cheeks to full-body freckles and more. Miroslav has also done an excellent job expanding eye customization for your characters which won't just tint the color of the iris but change its entire pattern to properly match the styles seen in those eyes in reality. He's also expanded our options for hair and facial hair. Feature development has also been going quickly and smoothly. Among others, we've built the contacts and friends systems which will be available in the Town Square module. When you meet people in the world you'll be able to exchange contact information, adding their number and name to your phone. This then acts like a friends list in other games, but you can even text or phone them with real working voice systems. It's also integrated with your Steam friends to make finding them easier. Environment art is also moving along, with several artists working full-time to give you beautiful environments. We've hired on some more artists and are even reworking some of the earlier assets we produced to bring the up to our now higher standards. Identity YouTube channel PowerGaming7 had the chance to speak with myself and Motown for a while after asking his viewers for a bunch of questions to ask. The result was an almost one hour long video where we shared all sorts of information you may not have heard before. You can find the link to this video right here. Once again, I want to thank every one of you for your continued support! Every pledge that comes in goes straight into the development of new features and helps us get the game to you a little bit faster. The attention we've seen over the last couple of months has been staggering, and we are excited to show you more of the gameplay soon!

Also the name is kyservers, what does that stand for, kill yourself servers? that's the first thing that came to mind when I saw it, why would you go with that name lol..

1 pointGreat questions! In Identity, or at least on official servers (private servers can change or disable certain features), there are gameplay restrictions for how police officers can interact with players or the environment, which are subject to change based on testing. In some cases, a player must first be reported for a crime before a police officer can arrest them. You won't see random arrests, and trolling behavior will be punishable via an officer reporting function, even potentially leading to a long-term ban from joining the police force for certain abuses. The goal here is to ensure that only people who take this role seriously will play as police officers. As it stands currently regarding property raids, players, even cops, won't be able to access another players property without permission from the owner. We view housing in Identity as an important, almost sacred, social feature and most players wouldn't want to see disturbed. It's treated as a location of tranquility, peace, and privacy to many who have put a lot of passion and love into customizing their personal space. Have you seen those funny Second Life videos of trolls entering another players property, and the owner gets very upset to see a person there that they didn't invite? It's kind of like that. Think of it as that one place you can go to roleplay with friends knowing nobody can break your immersion. We are however still exploring different ways players may be able to interact with each other and property. John has expressed interest in using homes as meth labs and allowing cops to raid them, but we haven't settled on a solution for that yet. Regarding sniping and PVP, we expect that there will be some camping in areas of high criminal activity, but there won't be any sniper rifles beyond a hunting rifle with a short 2x zoom scope, even for the police! In a early concept piece floating around this thread, there are some rooftop snipers sitting above the town square, but our concept art really shouldn't be seen as a confirmation, as much as it should be seen as an expression of potential. For instance, in the actual in-game scene, most of those rooftops are inaccessible. Gameplay still needs to be designed with balance in mind, and we have to be very careful with what we make accessible within the environment. As far as mugging goes, official servers have a unique stress system in place that we are very excited to test out. Outside of cities and low crime areas, your stress meter is naturally higher, making you more vulnerable to attack. Even in low stress areas, certain actions, some as simple as having a gun pointed at you, or crashing your car, will gradually increase your stress meter. Cities themselves aren't exactly safe zones, and the only truly safe place you can go is, inside a sub-HUB, or your own home. While there is a fire department in Identity with plenty to do within that role, players will not be able to set a fire intentionally. Fires occur randomly, or based on various factors, throughout the world. Your car can even catch on fire after an accident, but it's not going to spread to anything around it. We suspect that there will be certain jobs that players prefer for earning money easier, but this depends entirely on how well we balance things. If we make mistakes, people will exploit our mistakes, so we have to be extremely cautious with money and the economy in Identity. It's on us to design jobs and systems that our players can't easily exploit for an unfair advantage. Lastly, regarding corrupt politicians, while there really isn't anything a politician can do that will burn the economy to the ground per-se, we anticipate that some crafty people will secretly campaign with ill-intentions, and we encourage this! If they turn out to be a dud after becoming elected, band together and make sure they don't become governor again in the future! They had their chance! Thank you for all of your questions, and I hope that I've provided an adequate response!

1 pointFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) 1. How are Kickstarter backers different from website backers? There is only one difference between backer rewards for the Kickstarter and website. Kickstarter backers will receive a unique in-game hat with the Kickstarter logo. Website backers receive a hat with the Identity logo. No new content in the future will ever display either of these logos. 2. Many people are confused on what the game is about. Would you mind telling us what your vision for the game is? Is the game more about Cops vs Robbers, or a balance between all the available paths? Identity is a cops and robbers game at heart, but it is a life simulator in so many other ways. We’re catering to role-play in a way that is possibly the first of its kind. Players have the freedom to pursue careers that will impact the player economy in their own unique way. Become a taxi driver, deliver goods to player-owned businesses, fight fires, save lives, argue a case in criminal court, or just hold out your hand and beg for money. Find, or steal your ‘identity’! 3. What can you tell us about the world? World size? Player limit? We anticipate that the playable world size will be 200 square kilometers, or 77 square miles in comparison. This means that the whole map is 14 km wide, and would take about an hour and a half to walk across. We hope to support up to 300 players (or more!) per server. 4. Can you expand on the professions? We know there will be cops, but what types of jobs will be available for civilians? Will they be able to create their own businesses? Create their own items? etc. Also, Medics and Firefighters? Players can choose from a wide range of professions, including the ability to become a Firefighter, EMT, Taxi Driver, Farmer, Bounty Hunter, Fisherman, Logger, Miner, Delivery Driver and even a business entrepreneur. The options available to you as a player get more specific than this even, but we aren’t yet ready to expand on the full list. The direction of development is prone to change, and we don’t want to promise anything that might change down the pipeline. Business ownership allows players to own factories and small business, giving them control over what items are manufactured and sold. Items created by a factory must be delivered to their destination city where store owners in that area can decide what quantity and type (formal wear, casual, punk outfits, weapons, etc.) they wish to list in their business. Some default items are always available in all stores for when market demand is not met. 5. How will death be handled? When a player dies, some items such as the money the player is carrying at that time, will be dropped on the ground and will become accessible to anyone in the area that wishes to take it. Clothing items will never be dropped. We have decided that a player’s character appearance in a social game like Identity is important. You will always look the way you decide your character to look. If the player is not resusitated by an EMT or teammate, the player is then prompted to respawn at the location of their last sync (house, apartment, city) Private servers have some control over what types of items players will drop on death, if any at all. 6. Can you expand on how the housing system will work? Size and availability of apartments and houses? Players can choose to own or rent housing in Identity, while apartments can also be shared with a friend or roommate depending on the size of the property. For instance, two friends, or a married couple can choose to purchase a 2 bedroom apartment where they both can live comfortably with each other. Apartments and houses are fully customizable, allowing players to place furniture and objects anywhere in the room. Home-owners can invite other players into their apartment or house at any time. Players cannot access another players home without an invitation. 7. Will there be any specific safe areas where people can go AFK or sit and socialize without being killed or robbed? There are safe zones within certain types of buildings in Identity. Metal detectors serve to preserve immersion, and will temporarily remove any weapons upon entry, allowing all players in the area to safely relax, socialize and meet new friends. These safe zones are known to us as “Sub-Hubs” or social gathering points that reflect on the lifestyle theme of their environment (Biker Bar, Business club, Bum alley, etc.). While many of these areas can only be accessed by law-abiding citizens, some Sub-Hubs are neutral and can be entered by any player on the map. Few areas are designated gathering points for active criminals looking for the right crime of opportunity, or new friends to help them plan their next heist. 8. How will player identification work in game? Will names appear above players heads? If so, at what distances will they be seen? As our design stands right now, the official servers do display names over heads within certain ranges. Some things like masks and balaclavas can affect this. Moreover, private servers have an option where they can hide names from all players unless greeted. By this I mean you won’t see the name over another player until they perform an emote action, after which you’ll always see their name.
