It's been a busy, eventful and productive month for the Identity team at Asylum! Only a few weeks ago we released our first video showing real in-game content, the player housing system, and Identity has gotten a good bit of much-needed exposure! If you haven't seen the video, visit Identity's YouTube channel. Our programmers, especially Henrik Sonesson, have upgraded our inventory mechanics and created two new important gameplay systems these last weeks. The library which you'll have access to in the Town Square module is now in place and functional. Players can both read public domain classic books in-game, or even write their own and submit them to the library for other players to read. In addition, the NPC shop systems are now in place. When you enter most shops you'll be able to find the items you need on racks or displays around the store. Grab what it is you're looking for and then make your way to the cash register to make the purchase. In some places you can preview the items you're holding even before buying; for example, in a clothing store you can go into a change room. This system even allows for shoplifting some items, although player-crafted or very expensive items cannot be shoplifted on official servers. On the art front, we've brought on new artists and are continuing to build the world you'll be exploring. We've also been focusing on the interiors of buildings and characters. We've gotten our first facial hair assets and are approaching a complete character customization system. An overhaul of character skin and hair has Identity's characters looking incredibly life-like in comparison to other MMORPGs. Next on that list for a re-work is the eyes.

Hello there and welcome to the Identity community! it has been confirmed that Identity will be available on steam upon release, so no worries there. As for development, I am absolutely positive the team will be able to complete it. They have been working on it for two years, which, contradictory to what you have said, is actually a long time for a team so small. Besides, with a great community like this, with tons of backing, why wouldn't they finish this amazing project? feel free to do some more research on the game, weather it be through the search feature on the forums, or through YouTube videos and channels. Personally, I recommend watching @powergaming7 youtube channel, as he goes through every single prospect Identity has to offer and provides as much information as is possible, and if you haven't already, check out Identitys housing customization video, which shows some neat gamplay mechanics. I hope this was of some assistance.

Hello players and devs. Like the title says, I'm not usually one for posting on forums. But this game is just so breath taking and exciting I felt like I needed to greet everyone and express how much I cant wait to give this a try. I hope to see you all soon in game.

We've just had a gameplay trailer mate, so you're gonna have to be patient for the next one. Don't expect things to be quick just because you are used to mass media coverage from the huge game devs out there.

Why does it give you BENEFITS ? Should it be meth makes you lose hair, coke makes you lose health or something?

Times have changed and crime is diversifying. Street gangs and other ethnic crime syndicates have sprouted up all over the place, but none warrant the quick shudder of fear when hearing the name la cosa nostra, "this thing of ours". Italian organized crime is the deadliest criminal organization on the island of Identity, if not the whole Earth. The Luprano crime family is a family started by Frank Luprano from Bari, Italy. He migrated to Canada and then to the Island where he started one of the largest crime syndicates in the world. The Luprano family is a pan-Italian cosa nostra family with it's members originally from other North American cities with mafia families, as well as home grown mobsters, and new blood imported from Italy. All made men in the Luprano family have southern Italian heritage with blood lines from places such as Sicily, Napoli, Bari, and Calabria. The family has a strict code of honor, and all members must take the oath of omerta. The family is involved in a vast array of criminal activities that include: extortion, loansharking, book making, fraud, kidnapping, drugs, illegal weapons, contract killing, robberies & much more. Almost anything that makes a hefty profit is of interest to the family, as well as legitimate and semi legitimate business endeavors. A mobster who is a hybrid of a street tough guy and an earner is rare and extremely respected. Both are essential for the family. Street guys play more of an enforcer role, laying down beatings, intimidating, murdering as well as doing things such as extortion and what not. Street guys are street smart and are traditional gangsters. Earners on the other hand are the brains of the family. They are the ones that make the big money, making big schemes and scams, without getting their hands as dirty up close and personal. When we call ourselves a family, we mean it. Once you take the oath to enter la cosa nostra, "this thing of ours", you will be treated as family; a brother, a father, or a son. You are expected to do the same. As a made man you will be treated with the utmost respect, you will get better opportunities to make money, and enjoy many privileges from the family, such as the police looking the other way in certain cases, discounts, and protection from other criminals. *Nothing can break the family bond, we die for each other to preserve our way of life, our secrets, and the bond of family.* Below is an old version of the hierarchy, to show the basic outline of the family. A new hierarchy can be found underneath for comparison. (I am aware that IRL a family would not disclose it's hierarchy, however, this is a game and part of the benefits of being part of the family is respect and fear from others knowing you are a part of it, as well as rank.) Ranks: from greatest to least Boss/Don: The leader. The boss makes all the most important decisions and gets a cut of everyones money. He usually doesn't get his hands dirty but creates big schemes and is always guarded. He oversees the business of the family as a whole and makes decisions that benefit the family. The boss can authorize large plans. The boss is present at every initiation ceremony. Underboss: Second in command. He supervises the street bosses, and deals with many issues that they need assistance in. He gets paid from the street bosses and turns over a large portion to the boss. The underboss acts as a consultant to the boss, along with the rest of the inner circle. Most of the concerns of the capo's and their crews are dealt with by the underboss, who acts as the voice and representative of the Don. The underboss consults the Don and the rest of the inner circle regarding very important issues. The underboss is next in line to be boss if the boss resigns. The underboss can create large crime plans and authorize them too. He is also usually present at the initiation ceremonies. Consigliere: Advisor; third in command. The consigliere is a very intelligent man who is also usually a lawyer or accountant. He manages the families finances, helps out with the cops, and helps out the family in the court of law. He is a direct advisor to the boss and in the inner circle along with the boss, underbosses and enforcers. He is usually present at initiation ceremonies. The consigliere usually associates with high status people like the mayor and chief of police. He is paid directly by the boss or underboss since he doesn't usually make collections or do dirty work. He usually also creates large money making schemes. Enforcer: Our family has the rank of enforcer as a high ranking position in the family. This position is achieved after plenty of dedication and reputation. This person acts as our most reliable hitman, that takes care of the most dire of problems. He is personal bodyguard to the inner circle and is part of the inner circle himself. The enforcer organizes the most elaborate of hits and is extremely feared. Street Boss: The Street Boss is an important position, and there are three Street Bosses, one for Ash Hill, one for Roseport, and one for Turtle Beach. Each street boss oversees the activities of the capo's and their crews in their respective cities. The Street Bosses resolve issues that the capo's need assistance in, such as territory disputes with other criminal groups, or any issues that may occur between crews in the same city. They are also involved in managing large scale business deals and schemes in their city, ensuring smooth collaboration between the crews to accomplish big jobs. Any issues that are too risky or important are brought to the inner circle, however, the Street Bosses are highly respected men, who are capable of making important decisions. They are paid kick up from the capo's that they supervise, and kick up a percent of their earnings to the underboss. The Street Bosses are present at very important meetings and can be present at initiation ceremonies. Captain/Capo: Captains' in charge of their own crew of soldiers. There can be many captain's, but they must each have at least three or four soldiers underneath them. Captain's are highly respected men of honor that are usually on the street with their soldiers making money doing collections, and other illegal activities(although they might also do some legal stuff.) A capo supervises and takes care of any problems in their neighborhood that they control. While they and their crews are under the guidance of a Street Boss, they still have a good deal of freedom on how they run their crew. The capos can create some medium sized schemes but anything too large must have permission first from higher ups. They get a cut of money from their own crew which they must kick up some to the underboss. The capos represent their crews and can usually be present at initiation ceremonies, especially the more powerful capos. Each individual crew is named after its capo.(The capos in-game last name.) Soldiers: The muscle of the family. They are on the streets doing the daily activities of the mob. They must pay some of their earnings to their capo. Soldiers can make some small schemes but usually take place in medium sized ones orchestrated by their capo. Although soldiers are the lowest made members, they are still very powerful amongst society because they are made men. Once you have taken the oath of Omertà in an initiation ceremony, you become a made man, with the rank of soldier. Soldiers may have a small group of associates and wannabees that help them and give them cuts of money but it's not necessary or always constant. A soldier in a crew can be assigned by their capo as their right hand man. This simply means that they will likely have temporary leadership over the crew when the capo is in prison or takes a large leave of absence, and may aid the capo in making large decisions. Hardened soldiers who specialize in killing can be known as hitmen. The confidente di consigliere, or more simply, the Confidente, is an intelligent man that acts as a confidant to the consigliere, that is strongly involved in the family's businesses, finances, and relations with outsiders. Although these are sub ranks within the soldier rank, they have slightly more prestige over a regular soldier. Associates: People not yet made into the family but that work with them. These can be wannabees or future prospects for the family but also people that can't join such as non Italian criminals, crooked cops, judges and people of other crime groups. If they want to be made, they have to be sponsored and presented to the inner circle of the family by the particular crew they work with. Although associates aren't as protected by the mafia and are not made, they can sometimes still warrant some reasonable power and respect. To be made you must be of Italian descent (since I cannot verify this and want to give people a chance to have fun roleplaying you must atleast act and respect Italian culture, try watching some mobster movies or the sopranos if you are unsure or need a refresher). Mobsters must dress appropriately, atleast most of the time and during meetings (no silly ridiculous things like tight pants or pink cars, atleast not while doing mafia duties.) Made men are feared and untouchable by other made men and the public because of the extreme retaliation for going against them. They carry influence anywhere they go and even the police and government will not attack these well organized killers. Once a person is made, nobody within the family or outside can kill them. To be killed by someone within the family, they must have the permission of the inner circle (boss, underbosses, consigliere, enforcers) otherwise they will be killed themselves. If anyone from outside the family kills a made family member, they will be dealt with quickly. * To be part of cosa nostra is an honor and privilege as everyone will envy the power and respect that you carry. * Soldiers must kick up money to their capo who kicks up to the underboss who kicks up to the boss. The consigliere is paid by the boss or underboss separately. Oath: made members will have to take the oath of omerta In an initiation ceremony. You must always remain silent about the family and loyal. Hangouts: We are based in Ash Hill but have crews in other cities. I don't know how the map is exactly, or how in depth the business system is, but my goal is for the family to buy a few businesses on a street and turn the street into a little Italy. We can have a cafe or pizzeria there which we will operate out of. This area will have a large cosa nostra presence, with plenty of wise guys hanging around. Hello everyone! Just thought I would introduce myself, I usually go by Arzo in games and I'm from Illinois. Just found out about this game literally today and I am so very hyped. A little something about myself: As a Marketing and Digital Cinema major with a minor is Graphic Design and some familiarity with Apparel Merchandising and Design, I am looking forward to many of the career opportunities that is available through such a terrific looking game. I'm excited to choose whether I want a career in Business or Graphic Design, or even go a completely different route and try my hand at the Government. Either way I'm sure this game will give me a sense of what I want to do with my career beyond college. Looking forward to meeting you all in the forums and hopefully in-game!

Hi, my name is Dakota! I expect that my 2 real life career goals would be a bit too complex to create in a digital world (film directing or game design) so I'll stick to those irl and hope that I can open my own little cafe! I'd love if I could get a little community that comes every now and then where everybody knows each other. Im somebody who has issues with my gender identity so I'm really hoping that the character design will be complex enough that I can really make someone that I would be comfortable with. I hope to see all of you in this amazing world the devs are creating in the (hopefully) near future! Very excited!

Hello and welcome to the Macle Family recruiting page. The Don and Underboss will also be playing during beta Down below will be all the current information regarding the Macle Family. The following is a chart of our family tree as of this post and a description of the rank and what your expected of. Boss/Don: Is head of the organization, the boss is a dictator and has the power to order anything from anyone in the organization. The Boss makes all the important decisions, much like a CEO of a company would. Although each mob boss may run his outfit in a different way, they have one thing in common: they are greatly respected and widely feared by their subordinates. All of the men in his outfit pay him a tribute, so he is also usually an extremely wealthy man. Most Bosses of the Mafia are Multi-Millionaires or Multi-Billionaires, and are incredibly powerful, influential, extremely dangerous, and universally feared. More commonly, the word "Don" may proceed his first or last name. Underboss: Second in command. His level of authority varies from family to family, but he is ready to stand in for the boss at any given moment. In the violent, brutal, and volatile world of the mob, the underboss can easily find himself at the helm of the family so, for the most part, they are usually groomed for an eventual takeover, particularly if the boss’s health is failing or if it looks like he’s headed for a stay in the joint. Consigliere: Also known as chief advisor, is the Bosses right-hand man. The Consigliere is not officially part of the hierarchy of the Mafia, but he plays one of the most important roles in a crime family. He is the close trusted friend and confidant of the family boss. The consigliere is meant to offer unbiased information based on what he sees as best for the family. He’s not supposed to factor emotional concerns, such as retaliation and blood feuds, into his decisions. The consigliere is not required to be a direct relative of the boss. Instead, he is chosen solely for his abilities and the amount of knowledge he possesses. Generally, only the boss and underboss have more authority than the consigliere in an organized crime family. General: This man is will be a trusted and loyal friend to the Don or Underboss and is usually highly skilled and takes charge of the protection of the inner circle and leads next to the Captains. Captain/Capo: The captain or lieutenant of a division within the Mafia. He heads a large crew of soldiers and can order them to do anything the captains also report directly to a boss or underboss, who hands down the instructions. He ranks much higher in the hierarchy of the Mafia. Each individual crew is named after its capo.(The capos in-game last name.) Soldiers: The lowest-ranking members of the hierarchy of the Mafia and La Cosa nostra are the soldiers, the grunts of the organization who do the majority of the work, making deliveries, picking up cash, committing murder, assault, battery, Bombing, witness intimidation, killing jurors, bribing Law Enforcement, Politicians, and Government Officials for the Mafia, generally sticking out their neck in the hope of making a name for themselves by demonstrating their loyalty to the organization, and protecting the organization at all costs.. Associates: These people are not actual members of the Mafia, but they work for the Mafia. Rather anyone who teams up with them on a criminal enterprise of some kind. They could be someone who does business with the Mafia, and someone who kills and does dirty work for the Mafia, including money-laundering, fraud, bookmaking, skimming, Extortion, drug trafficking, weapons trafficking, Heists, murder, assault, bankers, bribing Cops, Judges, Lawyers, Politicians, Mayors, Governors. Associates can not turn down an order from the Mafia, if the Mafia gives them an order they have to follow it, and they are on call for the Mafia 24 hours every day. In order to join the Macle Family you must first contact me, the Don. Once the game is released you must swear an oath of loyalty and deposit a small investment to our family. After which you will undergo a trial to secure your spot in the family. Please note only me the Don has the power to kill one of our own and anyone who attempts to or succeeds in the murder of a family member will be killed and banished. The current setup of the family goes. Please note ingame names have not been chosen Boss/Don- Tyler Underboss- Omar Consigliere- General- Mike Capo- Cody Capo- Capo- Soldiers- AJ / Alex

im not sure if this topic has been touched on, but im sure a game this detailed has added some sort of "personal health" system with showering and such, and if not, that's what im here to suggest. A person can be only as cleanly as their job, and that should be reflected in game. If a coal miner neglects to wash his clothes for a week or even change them, that shouldnt be reflected in the same regards as say... a secretary. I was thinking a system should be added that allows players to do simple things such as shower, brush their teeth, wash their clothes, and so on, that if left neglected, will effect their exterior appearance. It would open just another little fun bit for RP (example, man becomes a serial killer and is forced to hide out in the woods for weeks, shouldnt be able to blend in perfectly the day he returns to town, he should come back looking like a pile of mud since hes been sleeping in it for years, make the cops jobs a bit easier). It would also allow another branch for business. maybe you want to save money and not buy a washer/dryer. maybe you dont have a spot where you can hang a clothesline, so where do you go? the laundromat. or hell, you can choose to wash your clothes in the sink, and hang them out the window to dry and hope they dont get stolen. what are your thoughts/opinions on this?

Hey Everyone, See what people might think of this idea, not sure if its been mentioned though. Idea was, after traffic stop or minor violation if the person who was caught doing the violation could give feedback about the officer. I'll use me for example, I pull someone over, Im respectful, curious, helpful, etc, afterward the other people gets a message or maybe an email gets sent to them from the police asking how it was. Im not sure how we could monitor it though so people dont give false claims and always negative. Maybe if rated positive that the officer gets promoted faster or they get a reward of some sort. We'd also need to make sure people dont use their friends and keep getting pulled over in a row to promote faster and use as an exploit. Maybe people get 1 freebee per officer or something? Just a though, love to hear feedback.

Social media is all around us, its part of our daily routine. So it would be great to have social media in the game. Not just facebook style, could have instagram, youtube etc. Maybe even a facetime/ skype style of thing in game? ...... I was even thinking about doing gameplays of Identity but that's kinda mainstream... So we could have a camera, ingame to record what we are doing. You could walk with it and do face cam. Everything recorded would go onto your computer to prevet flooding the server's space. So vlogging could be a thing. And maybe people posting daily content of the server on youtube could maybe make it a ingame job?

Just wonder if they will keep updating new stuff into the game after the whole game is finished. Hope they can keep supporting the game for a long time for example. when they have get enough funding, they can make a model update.

I thought as it's been a long time since the devs put up the vote on twitter, and seeing as there is a lot more exposure and more interest with people on this forum now that I would do this poll to see whether some peoples fear that there would be more criminals than cops or civilians be a case. So guys what do you want to be? Also if you can comment if you want to try all of them but this is what do you want to be mainly the majority of the time. Civilian includes being a businessman and such. Cop - Cop obviously. Criminal - Gang and general crime stuff. Government - This is any other government career like FF, Medic and so on. PS: I wanna try all of them out in the long run but my main thing will be running a transport company. I will start using my sports car as my Taxi! @HairyGrenade Wanna pin this?

You don't need a hygiene bar, you can look in the mirror and tell yourself if you look dirty or just have a shower. If it is a need it doesn't necessarily need a bar telling you how "dirty/hungry/thirsty etc" you are. (I hope you understand what I'm trying to say)

Next video is said to be on gun mechanics and so won't be until just before 1st module release/ after 1st module release or just before the S.W.A.T. module releases. (this is not confirmed but makes sense to show it before we actually get to use guns in the module which allows us to use em.)

Please feel free to use the resources on this forum/ website to gather information on the game. If you have not found something within the resources, please don't hesitate to ask as everyone here is happy to help! Cheerio!

Well, my point to why it should not have a white-list is because it's "Risk = Reward" e.g. Robbing a bank is risky but it has a big money reward but requires planning unlike Gmod DarkRP or any other gamemode. You would never see the risky criminal stuff be white-listed because that means you can't just get easy cash meaning hard jobs but easy big money. (Ps: The poll was to make you realise the odds that most people don't want to be a criminal, but truly the vote was a good idea to recap as we have not had one for ages and there has been a lot more exposure to the game with more people coming to the forum as well.)

Well when I say support I really just mean the ability to use it as a mouse. I don't expect it to have pressure sensitivity and being able to flip the pen around to use an eraser or anything like that. I've played some games where the tablet works just fine, but other games where it wasn't possible to use because of it jumping around or not processing clicks or something.

I look forward to your "attempts" to prove anything. As far as our Mafia is concerned, who are you to accuse them of being an illegal affiliation? That's quite the "guilty before proven innocent" mentality you got there, doesn't seem very fair. My organization provides the economy with jobs, we do not discriminate on criminal backgrounds nor care what they do in their personal time. If a member of my organization is operating outside of my scope, there's simply nothing I can do about it - You're just going to have to take it up with that person on an individual basis. Our intent is to be peaceful, however - with that being said, I don't recommend you give us your home address anytime soon.

Glad you're interested in joining! Private military will be fun, but you'll probably want another job since private military work will only be certain times or events. There's another guy @Qlight123 who is your age that runs a transport company, perhaps you could be one of our truck drivers and work with him. Having an armed driver would benefit our trade routes a lot, or you could just simply provide security for our transports.

Nope, i said have them as close to real life as possible. Drugs can have positive effects on you, in the short term at least. For example if you took a bit of sniff then like in real life your sense of alertness may increase. That for one is a benefit that could be utilised in game.
  34. 1 point
No, that would take away the point of it being realistic e.g. having crime.... or being like Real Life... This game is basically a "Life Simulator" and in real life do you need a whitelist to be criminal? No but this could be done my private server owners... Doubt people will do it.

Body temp, is not going to be in the game as it's not a survival game e.g. it's something which is not really needed and easily sacrificed for other things. Food and Water; these will not really affect you in terms with killing you but will affect you in terms of running or performing as well. You could bleed out if you don't get medical attention (not sure but would love this). However I know if you get shot in the hand that your holding the gun in then you will drop it....

If you searched the forum using the keywords weapons or pvp you will get something with info or just general discussions, however you are right about there being no videos on anything else. I am sure there will be a video showing off the first module at pre-module release, then a video maybe at pre-release showing the s.w.a.t. module off and same with the racing module. These videos could happen but are not confirmed to happen and so we are blind on what will be shown in the next video.

Wouldn't they have to get rights to movies in order to avoid copyright or does this only work for YouTube?

This video was made by @PowerGaming7, hes a pretty cool guy and is on the forums as well. Anyways as you can see from the screenshots they are playing the movie Night Of the Living Dead on the screen, a classic 1968 horror flick.

Luca, I originally made a much more detailed version describing the in depth roles of the various positions and many other things however it didn't go through and I don't have the time to do it again. In response to the part of how it looks like a high school report, my defense is that I have a very in depth knowledge about all Italian organized crime. In fact most of the stuff on your family is just taken from the mafia wikipedia directly or from movies. It appears as you are a new to the world of the mafia.
