Both of you need to be quiet and calm down. This forum was made to discuss what people thought would be best relating to jail time, not to argue about what you guys think this game is about. I'm not a mod, but cut it out, no one wants to see hostility in a post that was made for open discussion.

This is just a thought, but I think you may be able to craft higher "level" things the more skilled you are. So for example, anyone starting out could easily create a chair or table, but those that craft much more often would be able to make a dresser or a complex wooden sculpture. Something along those lines. Also, I'm sure you could be both a lumberjack, as well as a miner if you wanted to! I think those may be considered jobs, not careers. I don't know if any of this is correct, but that's how I imagined it would work. ^.^

Great! I will reach out to you and others very soon with more information and a more well-formulated plan (probably early next week) as well as add your company and name to the list of brands that represent our neighborhood. This will enable you to start searching for investors from within our organization and gaining support as well as finding reliable employees. When you get a chance if possible head to the main thread in my signature and make a quick post about how your company will be joining on (mostly just for the bump and thread activity) so that more people will also consider joining our cause. And if you'd like you can link the thread in your signature like I have done and include your title. Let's start getting some brand recognition out there!

@Fakeout With the system I'm currently designing between myself and friends, the conglomerate will be broken up into different sections - In basic format it would look like Political section / Business section / Transport section / Mining section so on and so forth ... Members will be placed into these segments based on which roles they intend to fulfill in the game / for the organization. The conglomerate would not "control" any percentage of your company - instead the conglomerate would act as a large group of investors that as members of our organization would put money towards the investment and startup of your company - while expecting a modest amount of income for themselves in return - but also contributing to the profitability for their "section" which is really not too much different from how regular investment works. With this system for example lets say that 3 people from the political section and 3 people from a business section each invest 5% into your startup and maintenance costs - that would mean the political section contributed 15% and the business section contributed 15%. Nothing is set in stone yet and this is just simply trying to explain the theorem here - but lets just the players who individually invested in your company would receive their individual returns - as well as give 1% of their profits earned from your company into the coffers of their actual political section. Example being that 15% was contributed by political members, so the entire political parties treasury would receive 1% of that investments profit from 3 members of its section totaling 3% of the profit made from your political investors. With a system like this I feel like we can eliminate or at least minimize the "conglomerate" fee and instead allow that money to be recycled by the political party to invest in other startup companies or the business section to invest in a new store - things along those lines. Once we have multiple companies established and multiple investors invested in several different areas the money will flow for everyone and their respective parties. As a direct answer to your question - you will be running your own company and employees the way you see fit. I browsed many different threads and only offered this opportunity to businesses that I think will thrive, particularly in our environment. As the director of our mining operations you would have the most valued input and knowledge of where to place mines, how to manage them, and where your particular sections money should be spent. I can not tell you to keep investing in the startup of other companies within our organization, but since we will be business and trade oriented it could very well be in your interest to participate in that. Because the more businesses we have, the more jobs we supply, the more investment and profit opportunities that will be available for everyone involved.

lets say you payed 10$ and you want to upgrade to the 50$ pack it will only cost you 40$ so yes it will cost you the remaining price not the full price

I believe that most crimes will be accessible to everyone at anytime, at least the most basic ones that don't require "experience" anyways. You just have to remember that as a business owner, or policemen wanting to commit a crime - this could potentially harm the efficiency of your company while you sit in jail, cost hefty fines, and perhaps even go on some sort of permanent record that may damage your reputation within the "straight edge" community. These are all just my opinions of how it MAY work though. It has been stated that players can only have 1 career at a time, but are able to switch (with possible penalties of job hopping depending on the profession) but there will be several odd-jobs or basic NPC run companies that you can possibly do multiple jobs for.

No not yet but i'm keen to do some farming or hunting if it would work out as a good job. And you?
  8. 1 point
I believe that it will be based on skill and also you will need special equipment to create higher tier objects; for example, you would need enough in game crafting experience as well as some sort of factory equipment to produce something such as automatic weapons.

    1) Age? 20 2) Location? U.S.A. 3) How long have you been gaming? 15 Years, started when xb came out 4) Which role do you currently prefer? (Undecided is fine) Politics, or medical related occupation. If architecture is confirmed as an occ. I will be doing that most likely. 5) PvE, PvP, or Hybrid? PvE on most games, only enjoyed PvP on games like TESO. 6) How many hours per week do you plan on playing? 50+ hrs a week 6) What is the reason why you want to join? As a political stance having people back you and put you into office is great. I, much like yourself, love leading and having people who agree with you and support you. Not only this but there will be some who don't agree with me allowing me to see other points of view and allowing me to learn new things not only in-game. I really enjoy close knit teams and know this will be a great experience and educational opportunity for myself and all those involved.

Take your time! It may not seem like much at first, but once we become a larger entity and start nailing down numbers and ideas all of the companies will thrive off of each other's well-being and essentially act as "investors" receiving profits from every company and form of revenue that we control. Getting in early would not only enable you to carve your own path in our organization, but to the world and environment that we as a collective group will choose to create.

The link is somewhat hard to see because its a light grey font on white background but its at the top of the "sample post" you see in my signature. It says "The Neighborhood - Recruiting!" Unfortunately I can't give you a direct link because when I do that's the format it pops up in. I feel like reading that may answer a lot of your questions about the mission of my organization - But the best explanation I can give is to think of it as the largest HOA community in town, except on a larger scale. It's a conglomerate of multiple large companies working together and providing the advantages that each one has to offer such as discounts, efficient trade, large pool of combined resources while also providing the cooperation of politicians and security of private military and possibly even gang turf. At the start we will want 1 company of a different profitable trade (1 bank, 1 mine, 1 casino, 1 trucking company so on and so forth) so that we may build them up to be the biggest game in town as well as shut down opposing factions if / when need be, just through sheer numbers and a proper support system. In your case, we would likely be able to find "the best" mining locations early on in the game, and pool a % of resources to building your mine straight away so that nobody can claim it and we capitalize on the market earlier. The sooner our large companies start funneling in cash we can use it towards furthering our empire by applying them to loans for other members in our organization (provided a thorough interview) or even to afford acquisitions in which we buy out other smaller but decently sized businesses to further capitalize on cornering the market ; such as a mine. In which case you would also seize partnership / management of furthering your profits and contribution to the organizations progress. Having a large neighborhood like this would be beneficial for you in other ways such as cheap and reliable transport companies that we own. A reliable amount of return customers from within the organization, which even at a discounted price, would supply you with enough revenue to be effectively profitable. And of course there's the ability to advertise your company through our brand as well as accelerate recruitment rates from other members in the organization who may be undecided as to their career path, or even players who join along the way needing a job.

@Honeybadger Sounds great @honeybadger what did you have in mind for a partnership?. Also I did not click the link because I could not find it on your post.

Haha, or at least a better one - for us every day average working people. Have you given any thought on what direction you'd like to go in Identity?
  15. 1 point
This is just my opinion from playing games similar to this one - Just being online / Doing minimal daily tasks for your company will increase it's efficiency. If you're offline for multiple days at a time (I suggest incorporating having to login at least to collect your paycheck every day - employees not logging in to collect their pay etc will show managers who's not producing for their companies) and obviously you would probably get fired by that person for not showing up to work, per logic. However I imagine there will also be separate NPC jobs and companies that you can work for that pay you based on how often you work for them - Example if you're a police officer you're only gonna get paid when you go there put on the uniform and do the duties. This would enable players to not get fired, since they only gain what they do and there's no real penalty to not performing the job. Also, players can not enter houses without being invited. Whether you only have to be invited once, and can then return later on when they're not there to rob them (since you've already been invited) is yet unexplained - at least to my knowledge. Hope this helps!

Sounds like a very nice company, and well thought out idea! I will also consider being a hefty investor. Perhaps you may be interested in working together in a more favorable arrangement? Take a look at this link for an idea I've posted and see if you'd be willing to sign on as an early representative, and potentially an accelerated recruiting rate? My idea will require lots of delivery / trucking services as well as secure trade routes which I think we could all profit from.

Well the 'paying based on your income' is usually decided by the government itself. You could actually have to pay more than your average income but it's all up to the government. Gene Smith

Early 2017 includes 4 months..... not 3 and so its Jan - April, Mid 2017 is May - August and Late 2017 is September till December! I estimate it by the end of February will be the first module (I hope it is too). 2nd Module if 1st one arrives by February hopefully should be done by End of May. and then Module 3 by End of September and Beta by Christmas/ End December. (These are all my opinion / estimates and so are not official.)

Here's the real difference: In life, professional criminals accept that prison time is a part of what they do, they know the risks. In games, more often than not, players are not professional criminals, they're just players that cause trouble, & most of the time they're not even breaking any rules. Identity is going to change that perspective, put simply, 'If you can't do the time, don't do the crime'. I would expect to see some serious prison time on most private servers, but at the moment we're still not sure about what exactly Asylum intend to do here, and there are certain things we need to know: First, and most important, will game mechanics actually enable you to be a professional criminal? I'm talking about crimes other than those involving causing damage to other people here, i.e making money. Secondly, is the amount of time someone spends in jail/prison something that we'll be about to decide upon on private servers? Third, we've all heard that prison is going to be a 'mini world', an awful lot is going to depend on the exact definition of that, so what is it? One thing is clear, time behind bars IS going to play a major role in Identity, players need to be aware of, and accept it, before they embark on a life in crime.

I mostly play League of Legends in my free time, but I expand my pool of gaming. Right now I'm in Queen's University in Kingston studying Biology, which is not the easiest thing in the world to do. If you ever want to play a game or two of something, feel free to shoot me a message and I'll add you on whatever. I just hope everyone has a good time!

Howdy! My name is Josh, but when it comes to gaming, I am more famously known as Killswitch. I have been playing video games ever since I was a young. I originated from console gaming, went to PC, back to console, then back to the PC master race after college. I dabble in all sorts of games but find the MMORPGs, MOBAs, and FPS games to be the most entertaining. I am from North Dakota and attended North Dakota State University where I got my Bachelors of Science. I am currently a Chemist in the area of Water Treatment, however I am going to go back to college to pursue a degree in Computer Science in the fall. I, like many others here, have met most of these young chaps through Asylum's Altis Life Server where I am an Administrator as well. Other additional hobbies would be sports, hunting, fishing, music, movies, and of course hanging out with friends. If you have any questions or need help, don't hesitate to message me.

Greetings All! I will preface this by saying that my username is pronounced "Goo-Gee." I have heard a lot of different variations of it and I hope this will prevent any confusion! My actual name is Evan and I am a sophomore studying to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science. I am originally from Florida, the warm and sunny state where all you bizarre news stories originate. I came to know all of these amazing people through being an administrator on Asylum's Arma Life server since April 2014. My interests are mainly in the relationship between technology and law, which I hope to pursue after I finish my undergraduate education. I also am working to become fluent in Spanish, which I hope will be complete after I complete my abroad studies in Barcelona. In addition to gaming, I also enjoy watching and playing soccer, rowing, programming (Web Development, Java, C, Python), videography, and much more! Feel free to message with help regarding Identity or the Gaming-Aslyum ARMA Life servers.

Hey everyone, I'm Brendan, I'm currently a senior in high school taking a programming class and 3D modeling course with high hopes to go into the gaming industry in the future. I've been gaming ever since I was about 5 or 6. I've always loved video games and the world that it put you in. By the age of 13 I bought my first PC and gamed on it for about 2 years, After working part-time I save up money and built my new Gaming PC which is what I use now. After switching to PC I will never go back to consoles! Once I built that computer I installed all my software for 3D modeling and have been creating different projects to store in a portfolios for future job applications, by late 2016 I hope to apply for an internship at Gearbox Software (Creators of Borderlands) to improve my knowledge of the gaming industry. Thanks for checking out my introduction and I hope to see you guys around!

Nice to meet you all. I'm Matt, also known as Dysto, I guess that's my sort of online alias. I'm a Second Year University Student in the UK who loves to get involved in online communities especially when it allows me to work around a great group of people and a great product. I started out running my own forums several years ago along with a friend, I then moved into the journalistic space acting as a freelance writer for a period of time. More recently I help test two GRID games at Codemasters being credited for my role in the community there, before stumbling onto Identity. If you have any questions or queries feel free to come and discuss it with me. You can also catch me at @Dysto on Twitter. I'll see you guys around, lets make Identity the next big thing.

Well, Hello everyone! My name is Justin, but people call me Snatch. I am one of the more recent additions to the administration staff on Asylum's Gaming-Asylum life server community. However, I have been a long standing member for over a year and a half as well as a Lieutenant of the Asylum Police Department for a year now. I'm resident in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. I am also a married college graduate. In my professional career, I am a Network Engineer and Administrator for a well established & publicly traded Fortune 500 corporation. I have been in the industry for over 15 years and earned numerous professional certifications from Cisco and also accredited from the NSA in network security. Together we can all create the chapter of gaming. I am so excited to be a part of this great adventure that is Identity!

Anyways I hope to see you all soon so we can start our adventures together and make this game a blast. ~Revenge X~

Identity Forum Guidelines Last Edit: July 9th, 2018 Participation in the Official Identity forums constitutes agreement to the following guidelines, which apply to posts, profile information, avatars, signatures, private messaging, and any other content on this site and participation in general. The live nature of discussions in this community makes it difficult for staff to catch every violation of these rules. If you believe that someone has violated our User Guidelines, please send a private message to a member of our volunteer moderation team or staff with a link to the content and a brief description of what you believe is wrong. Please do not respond to a violation personally, as you may aggravate the situation and possibly violate our guidelines yourself. Any content that violates our User Guidelines will be removed. Interpretation of our guidelines is at the discretion of the staff. Please do 1. Report violations of the forum rules. Moderators will quickly review reports and make decisions based on the information you provide. 2. Respect others. Showing respect will encourage others to participate in discussion. 3. Like posts, that you feel contribute useful information to a discussion. 4. Read the rules, so that you do not accidentally receive an infraction or ban. 5. Be constructive. Help others by answering questions, and offer feedback to their ideas. 6. Read before posting. Fully Comprehend the topic of discussion and determine what has already been discussed. 7. Use proper grammar and spelling. Read your post before submitting. Spelling mistakes may attract attention away from the discussion. 8. Search for content related to your questions. There’s a good chance that there may already be an answer to what you are looking for! Please don’t 1. Troll. Trolling does not contribute to meaningful discussion. 2. Spam. Spamming clutters the forum and makes it difficult to find original content. 3. Flame, or attack others. Insults do not contribute to discussion, and will be removed. 4. Repost Deleted Content. Content that was deleted was removed for a reason, even if the reason is unclear. 5. Demonstrate or perpetuate toxic behavior. A user is considered toxic if they repeatedly make defamatory, threatening, insulting, or otherwise hateful remarks toward other users or staff. Please keep language civil when expressing your opinions. 6. Advertise websites or services unrelated to Identity. We do not sell advertising space on the Identity forums. 7. Cross Post. Cross-posting makes it difficult for users using the search function to find relevant information, and may be considered spam. 8. Ask for Likes. Likes are given to those for contributing useful information in a discussion. 9. Abuse reports. Reporting content with blank or inaccurate report descriptions will hinder a moderator's capacity to help. Please report content that is in violation of the rules, and not simply because you personally dislike another user. 10. Engage rule violators. You may accidentally violate these rules yourself by responding to others that you feel aren’t following these guidelines. 11. Make low-effort posts. Contribute useful information to the discussion, and avoid going off-topic. 12. Discuss Politics/Religion. These subjects are sensitive and may offend others. (There is a small place for fantasy politics within Identity's ecosystem. The Governor position will be able to tweak small settings within the game world, and must compete against others for power. The political systems within Identity are simplified and do not accurately reflect the processes involved with political discourse in the real world. Players may implicitly take inspiration from existing candidates or parties, but must not show any connections to real world politics through the use of logos/symbols, names (of existing leaders, existing parties, or of those within recent history), or slogans. By affiliating your party with a real world political faction, you are bringing such politics into discussion and grabbing the attention of those who recognize it. Real world politics typically invoke a strong emotional response in some viewers and can lead to vehement conflicts extremely quickly.) 13. Create multiple accounts. Only one account per person is authorized, so forum users can be easily identified. Avoiding a ban may result in further permanent action. 14. Operate a shared account. Sharing an account with another user will make conversation difficult should any of the account operators share a difference in opinion. Conflicting statements will impede our ability to help assist any single user on a shared account. Due to this, we request that each account is operated by a single, separate user. 15. Create forum posts that mention specific users in the title. Creating a new topic with the title specifically mentioning another user isn’t conducive to group discussion, especially if the targeted user isn’t comfortable responding in an open format. (For example, don’t make posts like “@usernamehere, why is x and not y?”) If you’re asking a question directly to another user, please do so using the inbox function on the forums. 16. Post Personal Information, or post links containing personal information. Sharing information about others can be harmful to their real-life. 17. Use forum features in unintended ways. Asking for likes, or making a game that incorporates the like/follow buttons artificially inflates user forum stats, making it difficult for other users to determine which content or user is contributing popular content to the site. 18. Discuss Moderator or Administrator actions Publicly. There are often reasons why a decision is made by a moderator or administrator that may be unclear to outside-parties, and off-topic discussion about an admin or moderator decision may be disruptive to a conversation. We politely ask that you trust and respect decisions made by staff. If you have an issue with a specific staff member, please report the matter to a Community Manager. 19. Impersonate Asylum Entertainment Staff or Moderators. When users seek assistance from moderators or Asylum staff, they shouldn't need to worry about encountering the possibility of dealing with an impostor. Always heed the official titles for staff roles on both the forums and discord to help avoid confusion. 20. Intentionally Spread False Information. Spreading rumors you know are falsified and portraying them as fact will only complicate Identity's development and serves to derail the actual constructive criticism offered by other users. Even accidentally giving out false information can be dangerous, so please ask a staff member or reference official statements (Dev Blogs for example). 21. Post or link to illegal, dangerous, offensive or NSFW content. Do not engage in activities that include (but are not limited to) the sharing of sexually explicit content, piracy, malicious code execution (viruses, malware, spyware etc.), gore. Please keep posts pertaining to the M-rated content in Identity reasonable. 22. Create or operate an account with the intention of solely boosting or supporting another user's reputation, poll votes, or opinions. We ask that all users contribute to the forums in ways that don't simply perpetuate someone else's particular viewpoint or account statistics. ***Moderators and staff have the final say on all matters. If you would like to report moderator abuse, contact a Community Manager directly. Creating public threads or posts that question or reference administrative decisions or potential administrative decisions is not permitted.*** ***Freedom of speech rights do not extend to privately owned websites, such as this one.
