It's been a busy, eventful and productive month for the Identity team at Asylum! Only a few weeks ago we released our first video showing real in-game content, the player housing system, and Identity has gotten a good bit of much-needed exposure! If you haven't seen the video, visit Identity's YouTube channel. Our programmers, especially Henrik Sonesson, have upgraded our inventory mechanics and created two new important gameplay systems these last weeks. The library which you'll have access to in the Town Square module is now in place and functional. Players can both read public domain classic books in-game, or even write their own and submit them to the library for other players to read. In addition, the NPC shop systems are now in place. When you enter most shops you'll be able to find the items you need on racks or displays around the store. Grab what it is you're looking for and then make your way to the cash register to make the purchase. In some places you can preview the items you're holding even before buying; for example, in a clothing store you can go into a change room. This system even allows for shoplifting some items, although player-crafted or very expensive items cannot be shoplifted on official servers. On the art front, we've brought on new artists and are continuing to build the world you'll be exploring. We've also been focusing on the interiors of buildings and characters. We've gotten our first facial hair assets and are approaching a complete character customization system. An overhaul of character skin and hair has Identity's characters looking incredibly life-like in comparison to other MMORPGs. Next on that list for a re-work is the eyes.

As the FAQ (or extended) said there will be micro transaction but they will be cosmetic Which means the squaker that stole moms creditcard will only be able to buy the backer speed demon pack and run you over with a luxury car (or what ever other perk tier with a car but since you said ferrari i said luxury car)

Here's the real difference: In life, professional criminals accept that prison time is a part of what they do, they know the risks. In games, more often than not, players are not professional criminals, they're just players that cause trouble, & most of the time they're not even breaking any rules. Identity is going to change that perspective, put simply, 'If you can't do the time, don't do the crime'. I would expect to see some serious prison time on most private servers, but at the moment we're still not sure about what exactly Asylum intend to do here, and there are certain things we need to know: First, and most important, will game mechanics actually enable you to be a professional criminal? I'm talking about crimes other than those involving causing damage to other people here, i.e making money. Secondly, is the amount of time someone spends in jail/prison something that we'll be about to decide upon on private servers? Third, we've all heard that prison is going to be a 'mini world', an awful lot is going to depend on the exact definition of that, so what is it? One thing is clear, time behind bars IS going to play a major role in Identity, players need to be aware of, and accept it, before they embark on a life in crime.

The way I would say is, the guy who wants to buy the advertisement space will go to the company office and pay the bus company directly and then maybe it will add the option for the "High manager role" players in that company will be able to set the advertisement using a menu or something. EDIT: With the bus stops, you should pay the government for the advert space.

Mining companies are possible, I am sure stock brokers are not going to be in the game.

Ok, well keep your sheltered mind set, but SAMP has some of the best Role-Play you will get in any game. Im guessing you come from an Arma life background, but the Majority of Arma life etc, doesn't have the amount of depth of RP in them, as good SAMP Role-Play servers. Until you have played them, you wouldn't understand. Please if you are only going to have sarcastic and unnecessary comments, then i would rather you didn't. Thanks.

Do you mind elaborating on your original project? I'm pretty sure I and others on this post would love to see what kind of experience you have when it comes to game development.

the game developers have not stated if there will be a refinement process for raw materials. Assuming that it will be implemented i think you will be able to sell in sheets but if not I will just be selling the raw ore, however it should not affect your ability to make products with the resources that i mine

Micro transactions for any item in game, is what normally kills most games online playability. Grinding for items is the best approach for MMO and RPG because it make the player become more involved in the "in game" economy and community. Grinding makes players either work together, or against each other for the idea of in game power. Making the in game environment grow and evolve to the community that dwells, works, and prospers there. Asylums approach to micro transactions seems like a wise choice. Only being able to purchase cosmetic items will give no true advantage to any player using micro transactions, and allowing for an even playing field for all involved. Just my experience with micro transactions tho.

No, that's like having pay to win and well what about all the people who can't do that? I think it's a terrible way to go and well 1 currency is enough as in real life, you have to exchange euro's for dollars or another currency to buy things and so really that will be pay to win so to speak. This game will never be a "Pay to Win feature" in this game the devs said. but micro transactions will be purely cosmetic things. If you buy a thing from the in-game shop, I am sure it will be permanent to your "Account" and you will not be able to trade or sell those items
