It's been a busy, eventful and productive month for the Identity team at Asylum! Only a few weeks ago we released our first video showing real in-game content, the player housing system, and Identity has gotten a good bit of much-needed exposure! If you haven't seen the video, visit Identity's YouTube channel. Our programmers, especially Henrik Sonesson, have upgraded our inventory mechanics and created two new important gameplay systems these last weeks. The library which you'll have access to in the Town Square module is now in place and functional. Players can both read public domain classic books in-game, or even write their own and submit them to the library for other players to read. In addition, the NPC shop systems are now in place. When you enter most shops you'll be able to find the items you need on racks or displays around the store. Grab what it is you're looking for and then make your way to the cash register to make the purchase. In some places you can preview the items you're holding even before buying; for example, in a clothing store you can go into a change room. This system even allows for shoplifting some items, although player-crafted or very expensive items cannot be shoplifted on official servers. On the art front, we've brought on new artists and are continuing to build the world you'll be exploring. We've also been focusing on the interiors of buildings and characters. We've gotten our first facial hair assets and are approaching a complete character customization system. An overhaul of character skin and hair has Identity's characters looking incredibly life-like in comparison to other MMORPGs. Next on that list for a re-work is the eyes.

We'd love to do this! We still need to integrate pledge tiers into forum user accounts. After that is sorted, we'll see about making this happen!

Recently I was on the website for the upcoming game 'Last Year' Which is pretty much the Friday the 13th game. Anyway, I noticed on that site that it had a 'Backer only area' which meant that the people who had backed the game on kickstarter had first hand access to prototypes, screenshots and sneak peeks etc. I think that would be a superb idea here because to be honest the people who helped get this thing off the ground in the first place haven't been put forward of anybody else whatsoever. What do you guys think? @HairyGrenade @Motown @Paratus

That's fucked because I was legit thinking of a food delivery service where we pick the food up at the store and deliver it to you....so if my guys go missing while delivering to a log cabin out in the woods....You're the first cat I'm calling

They aren't just gonna hire you because you say you have experience, that's not how the employment world works buddy. It's like going into a store and asking the store manager if you can start working there and then because you can 'stack shelves' Asylum are going to reach out to professional freelancers as well not just any guy with probably no proof of experience.

I really do think the jail time itself is fine, and should range no longer than 20 minutes. As for prison sentence, that should definitely be raised to 90 minutes. Big crimes should feel big and risky, and this would allow someone to really experience the prison system rather than just boop, in and out.

I found this here and I would like a clarification please. Look at this tweet from the devs. IF you kill someone you will immediately be wanted and all the cops can see that you're wanted for murder. That means if I kill someone in the middle of nowhere like in grand theft auto where I can literally kill some hikers on the biggest mountain in the whole game and I get a wanted star and cops are looking for me, like pffff oh okay..Because we all know if you kill someone in real life in middle of nowhere every cop on earth immediately knows that you killed someone, that's exactly how it works in real life.

Hello my name is Scott :), I have to say I am so excited for the game that I actually can't wait. I have a few ideas for the game which I think could add to the game a lot so please do read them. I believe that A. Hiding things in the air vent of your house/apartment, This could be a good addition because a house/apartment owner could hide valuables in them, or criminals could hide amounts of drugs in there so if the police break in or someone else comes in they might not check in the vent and the items could be saved (Just a though but it wouldn't be too difficult, hell I could probably do it). B. A personal name system. This is extensive so may be long to explain. I propose a nickname system in which a player (x) could see a player (y) and then a player (z). If player Z looks at player Y he sees the name Scott, but if player X looks at player Y he will see the name Paul. This would have to be a locale file or a database that has a players unique ID and then what the player named them. This way a player Y could tell player X his name is Paul but player Z his name is Scott or if no name was set then nothing would show. I feel like this could add to the realism, and cancel out hardcore metagaming, but you would have to add a system where a player is trying to set a nickname for another if prompts both players with an acceptance box. The box couldn't prohibit gameplay so rather than use the mouse to check yes or no it would have to be a key. This is so that in a gunfight someone can't run up and stop another player from shooting. These are just a few ideas.

I would just like to wish the developers and community a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for when it is here! Also I for one cannot wait till the new year as it will be only a few months from the 1st Module! I have been waiting so long with most of you, like those who are making it real and well I hope you enjoy the upcoming weeks! So, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! James!

We can't work based off of assumptions that rich businessmen will invest in banks, nor that banks will invest in smaller businesses. In politics we have no control over what you spend your money on, only law enforcement can do that and since they follow the laws we make, and I can't make it compulsory to invest. We use taxes to invest in smaller businesses of amounts up to $15,000 for a startup and any amount if you have an already established business. This guarantees smaller businesses have a chance. As I have flawlessly explained, lower taxes actually increases crime rates, so your point "why do people have to live a life of crime" is rendered invalid, especially as people won't be ABLE to do this with a well funded law enforcement structure. I implore you to explain how my plan makes people lazy. Again, you are basing an argument off of speculation which isn't a valid response. Higher taxes don't always lead to economic collapse, the UK has high taxes and has a very strong economy. The media says we don't have a good economy but that's only because it has had dips, if you look at statistics we are a fairly stable country. America has very high taxes yet they are one of the most stable countries in the world economically. You are making too many assumptions, these chains of "This will happen, as a result this will happen, then this will happen" etc. are speculatory, I have evidence and real world examples strengthening my argument. Please give me an example where my structure has failed IRL. I can compare Freddos to taxes because I am not making a statement that taxes aren't mandatory, I am using the principle that it is much better to start something early on so people get used to it rather than implement it down the line. I'll use an example of parent punishing their kids. If you slap a kid on the wrist since birth when they do something bad, they will quickly learn not to do bad things. If you don't touch them for 15 years, then start slapping them, statistically speaking it tends to work substantially less. My taxes will ensure that people get an education, and that they get a stable career. I plan on investing in @Herzog's (I believe) University system, making it free to the public. Without this, less people will buy an education, thus creating more under educated and unemployed citizens. I never actually mentioned military I don't believe so that was irrelevant. You are looking at low taxes wrong. You think people earning less will result in people not wanting to work, people earning less will result in people having to work to get by rather than sitting on welfare doing nothing for society while taking anything they need. I don't quite understand your last point, I explained why lower taxes would cause inflation. A counter argument would require you to prove my argument wrong by giving an equal and opposite argument or providing factual statements as to why I am wrong.

This question has been asked numerous time, you may want to search the forums next time. Anyways, as for the actual question, the devs have said they have no real promises to port it to consoles but they may look into porting it at a later date.

The beta isn't coming out for a while, I'd say late 2017 or early 2018. Town Modules will make up for that in the meantime. However; Town Modules will only be available for those who pledge $30 or more towards the game. So if you plan on playing the game early, I suggest you pledge to get access to the Town Modules.

Well, I don't believe anything about death has been set-in-stone / released. However, just going off of some of the similar consequences, it could just be a respawn or it might have an actual affect on your play, (such as a temporary lock-screen / kick from server.) Once again, this is all just 'what if' suggestions, and I could be very wrong.

@WhtGhstBlckGhst Update, I found out the reason csgo and most other games don't allow you to use your drawing tablet. It's because the game is 3d and the tablet simply doesn't work with 3d. (at least mine doesn't) However, the devs can fix this by making the game 2d when you enter the canvas.

I don't think this is the cop's job. Cops are not moderators. Cops are players. They shouldn't have authority if someone breaks server rules.

You could always start a news station or a newspaper & the "reporters" could be on scene & they could screenshot things & post them along with their stories on the forums or a website. OR, better yet, if there'd be a way to post those in game, perhaps on the internet. That'd be awesome. I think it'd be neat to see something go down, & then arrive on the scene & interview witnesses and officers. Then go get statements from the government officials.

YESSS good good news all around! These are just excerpts from what I wanted to discuss and not meaning this information is more important than the rest. "Our programmers, especially Henrik Sonesson, have upgraded our inventory mechanics and created two new important gameplay systems these last weeks. The library which you'll have access to in the Town Square module is now in place and functional. Players can both read public domain classic books in-game, or even write their own and submit them to the library for other players to read." Actually a really good point that I haven't seen mentioned yet, the inventory system! Devs PLEASE shed just a tiny light on the basic structure of the system! Just a tiny one, but as usual here's my questions. Maybe answer one? :3 -I assume its pocket based? Meaning if I'm wearing jeans I have 4 pockets to use. -Are backpacks, purses, duffel bags etc.. fully functional and separate from our characters inventory? Meaning will we be able to stuff a bag full of money for quick transactions on the go to other players etc. Plus the idea of throwing a phat bag of dough into the trunk of the car is just so pleasing. (And I wanted to mention this before: I really hope the money in the game is a physical object that can be picked up and compiled individually. Think of the coins in an elder scrolls game, each coin is individual and can be separated by dropping 1 coin, but if you drop lets say 50 coins it will be dropped as a small coin purse. Basically that idea but id want to spend hours counting and rubber banding wads of cash and stuffing them into a bag for transaction.) "In addition, the NPC shop systems are now in place. When you enter most shops you'll be able to find the items you need on racks or displays around the store. Grab what it is you're looking for and then make your way to the cash register to make the purchase. This system even allows for shoplifting some items, although player-crafted or very expensive items cannot be shoplifted on official servers." -This concept is so dope and really does shine a tiny light on the high fidelity of detail they've mentioned in the past. You walk around the store and collect your items before paying for them giving you the option & opportunity to shoplift. Stellar, this proves its all about the details and shows us that nothing is being over looked. Stellar shit, you guys are killing it. THANK YOU!

All I will add is that as many of you said. Imitating a real life gang in real life or in the virtual world is a rather shady area. For examples, motorcycle gangs find it really offensive if you wear their patch in real life as the patch is earned. Even if it's fictional, such as sons of anarchy, many people find it disrespectful if you wear the patch without first warning that patch. im not saying take it down as I have used the aryan brotherhood idea before but just be respectful of the people within that gang. Show no offence to them by driving their name into the ground.

Dear haters of this game, I understand that a lot of people have many doubts on this game thinking that it will be a 2nd "No Man's Sky" and it's too ambitious of a project, or simply just impossible, then please reconsider and give this game a chance. Yes there are a lot of expectations in this game and yes it has limitations but this game is striving to become a new genre all in itself. After this game comes out, or even before, you might see big corporations trying to copy this as this has become very popular and very unique. This brings me to my main point. If your trying to say that this game is like those made by major corporations, it's not. It's made by a small team of developers who fantasized about this type of game. Instead of sitting around like the rest of us do and expect a game like this to be handed to us, they took the initiative and MADE this game. Also, we aren't buying "early access" per say. We are giving the developers money to continue working on this game and bring this community something that we all enjoy. Most of us are here because we wanted this type of game to come out and when it did, we all jumped on the great idea and are trying to make it a reality. The people who pledge $30 or more will get beta access, yes. This doesn't mean that they are trying to suck all the money out of us as they can. They simply NEED funding unlike games made by BE or BLIZZARD or Valve, etc. I hope you put this here as a joke. If you meant this in a detrimental way then I think that you need to find a better use of your time. Again, the people of the Identity community love this game and wish for it to be a reality. If we didn't buy "early access" and all the other perks, then there would be no game. Valve can pump out new games for as long as they want without selling early access. They can make games that are F2P and have no micro transactions whatsoever simply because of the fact that they have the funding too and will be bringing in more money than they know what to do with. This being said, Asylum Entertainment has no major funding expect for the people that like the community and the game. I can't speak for everyone, but I think that most people part of the community appreciate what Asylum Entertainment is doing and giving us a game that is 1. Cheap, 2. NOT pay to win, and 3. Something that a lot of people have fantasized about for a long time. You can buy the game and become the most powerful person on the official servers just by playing and being dedicated. I am not 100% on this but I heard that it will cost around $15 USD to buy the full game. There are micro transactions but they are purely cosmetic. This is purely a community based driven game. Almost the whole world is controlled by the people. This is a game created by the people for the people. If you still have doubts in your mind then that's fine, different people have different opinions and you are entitled to yours. I hope that you can at least not spread hate about this game. Thanks for reading and if you agree then leave a like to show the power of the community and to show that you really care about this game! ~Rem P.S: If this can for some reason get pinned, It might help show the haters the power of the people and community!

While every mobster or "wise guy" is different than the other, a standard template can be established for how they live. Characteristics: A wise guy usually has a bad temper. They can't hold down a normal job because they won't take orders from people that they perceive as lower in power than them. (Such as most other men, and all women, except for their mother/grandmother). So to make a living, they take from those that deserve it. (Atleast most of the time.) A wiseguy respects women, but does not let them step over him. He is the boss of his house. He must be self confident; a weak man would never last as a mobster, whether it be mentally or physically weak. A wiseguy isn't necessarily rascist or sexist, but he isn't politically correct either. Clothing: The suit: It can be blue, it can be black, it can have a tie, it can be open collar. Mobsters can wear a variety of suits, as long as they aren't too tight or hipster looking. The suit is the business attire of a mobster and is worn at meetings and important ceremonies. The leather jacket: It can be a classic one, a bomber, or a longer coat, the leather jacket is the standard of day to day apparel of a mobster. Pants: Mobsters typically wear slacks, dress pants, or regular cut jeans, not skinny jeans. The tracksuit: Ya, I know. This is what a sleazy debt collector from New Jersey would wear, but that's the point. Various other apparel: Other attire can include peacoats, overcoats, wife beater undershirts, leather loafers, Italian style white tennis/soccer shoes, gold crucifix chains, rings, fedoras, and old school greek fisherman type hats. Some of these clothes might look horribly out of fashion to some people, but remember this: most mobsters don't follow fashion. They don't care about brand names. This is how many modern Italian American mobsters dress, and that's what matters. *Note, not all members of the Luprano family have to, or will dress like this, but it's an example of the some of the things we might wear. Leisure: Wiseguys enjoy eating fine Italian food, and enjoy drinks such as cognac/brandy, various whisk(e)ys, dark rums, wine and beer. They enjoy smoking cigars such as cohibas and montecristos. They drive cars like Cadillacs, Lincoln's, various sports cars and luxury sedans. They are the epitome of a man, and they will break your head if you tell them otherwise.

If time is 45 minutes max: Jailbreaks would almost never be possible with such a short amount of time. It often takes 30+ minutes just to prepare a strategy, gear up, and gather the appropriate intel assuming there are no delays and you're not rushing into things (this is from experience on ArmA 3 Life). This gives us very little time to enjoy the full prison experience, some people want to take it all in not blow through it all and chow down faster than a speeding bullet.. Enjoy your experience. If time is above 45 minutes (3 hour max jail sentence): This makes not getting caught much more thrilling in my opinion, sure a lot of people are like "but then if I do a crime I have to sit in jail and do nothing for hours!" but you do realize that's only if you get caught? Also I imagine you have to do a hell of a lot of crimes to receive a maximum jail sentence. I, personally someone who's more interested in hardcore role-play rather than an arcady GTA experience would prefer a longer jail sentence just for the sake of role-play. I want to be part of the whole role-playing experience, I don't want to run around the streets and just commit constant crime after crime not carring about that 45 minute maximum jail sentence. If you're a real criminal and know what you're doing, you shouldn't get caught. Honestly.. I imagine the official servers want something for everyone so I imagine there will be versions of official servers that are more arcady while there are versions that are much more hardcore with longer jail sentences and such; Regardless of that, I imagine there will be plenty more private servers and something for everyone. It won't all be the same, so if you want that chance at a longer jail sentence then trust me there will be servers out there for you just with that in mind focusing on the hardcore aspects of role-play.

I feel as if jail time should be longer than 45mins just because it has to be long enough to stop encouragement of everyone going into crime. Far too many people will want the quick buck and if the jail time is not long enough people will not worry about it as much and are much more likely to commit crime. However if they commit a crime and are in jail for a couple of hours they will be less tempted to try and make quick money. You dont want everyone to go into crime because then it will be just like ArmA 3 Life

Currently, the maximum jail sentence is 45 minutes. That could change! It's a simple value that we can set and modify on the fly, and will do so based on future testing! First off, there are two areas you may be placed in when arrested. Jail, for minor crimes lasting no more than 5-10 minutes where you will simply have to sit around in your cell, harassing the neighboring inmates until released, and Prison, for major crimes! The prison feature is like playing an entirely new game in itself! There is shanking, gangs, territory control, prison breaks, or even just social areas for those who don't want get their hands dirty! Prisoners can request a trial, and if accepted, will be sent to a court house where a jury of players will determine your fate. If acquitted, you will be released on the spot, where you can continue your life on the outside, but if found guilty, you will have to spend the remainder of your time in prison, and can choose to leave at your own will once your sentence expires.
