The developers have confirmed that the game shall not consist of a subscription. The following topic should be terminated since subjects merely desire to insult one another rather than producing constructive and intelligent discussions regarding the subject.

I honestly need to get off of the forums at this hour... I swear this game and it's concept is just too good, it's keeping me up before finals. Anyways, I keep leaving replies on all kinds of forum topics and stuff, it's great to be a part of this community! I'm probably going to go to sleep now, since this whole post is essentially just me being tired... and is really kind of counterproductive, since now I'm staying up making this post... Anyways, hope everyone has a great night/day/evening/afternoon/whenever you are reading this. Signing off, Samantha

Man, this sounds like it's coming together just fine! I would definately like to join in on this kind of job. Man, I am getting myself into all kinds of work, but I guess I'd rather be busy than bored. I could teach Financing and classes of that sort, being that my mother was a CPA and I take a lot of interest in money and cash flow and finances, ways to save money, your 401k, if it has to do with money, I probably know it Would be fun ^v^

Already suggested, but i'll add to it. It'd be cool to allow shops and businesses to create their own website to; Showcase and sell their products and merchandise Place orders with shipping companies Advertise job vacancies which players can apply at Display contact details and addresses There could even be an online yellow pages for easy access to addresses and phone numbers. Business owners could also create advertisements for online use. This would cost money (probably paid to the server) and would vary in size.

I'm currently looking at a computer that has a GTX 1070. I want to be able to experience the game at max settings, so I think that should do the job.

I honestly prefer the PC version, I think its kinda weird a RPG on a console (no offence, my opinion)
  11. 1 point
I feel that a console port would take away from the experience that the developers are striving for. Here are my reasons for why a console port would be bad for Identity: 1: Trolls will be more prevalent throughout the game, ultimately ruining the role-playing experience. 2: The hardware on consoles is limited when compared to PCs. Because so, graphics might have to be tuned-down to accommodate for consoles, butchering the graphics. 3: Controls might also have to be tuned-down due to the fact that controllers have a limited number of buttons, which may limit features and such. 4: Overall, you just get a better experience on PC. With better graphics, better controls, and better everything, I feel that a console port would be pointless.

One should note that illiterate citizens exist within the planet Earth. In the process, the average citizen within The United States of America either converses with a miniature amount of slang or grammatical errors. Thus, one should not judge an individuals ability to converse in a grammatically inaccurate manner as "a good role-player".

Well no by expensive I was still referring to the suits, sorry for the misunderstanding. I wouldnt charge that much for a jacket, again we are after reputation. Custom content will likely be the price for manufacturing + 10%, so if it only costs $12 to make a jacket for you, you will pay $13.20. Suits will be much more expensive however, they will probably be $100-600

Dear Mr. Terry in response to your application, you are hired as Transportation Supervisor. If the game comes out we will make a contract of you as employee of our company. what generally is in the contract is your salary, how much hours you must work in game and the Terms of Service. What also in the contract is that you have a probationary period of one week (real life) which means that you can take dismissal for any reason. But we can also fire you for any reason in the probationary period. Thank you for your response on this job offer. Rick Anderson Founder/CEO Discovery Logistics Inc.

Yea we need to wait for the module to see the prices or the devs can just confirm the prices

I don't think he's got prices figured out, as no one knows how exactly the economy will be. Prices are assumed to be as close to real life as possible though.

This one. I love it. How much? Though really, nice designs! I really can't wait to see how this plays out in the game!

think about it this way. If you were a game designer designing the most ambitious game of the century would you waste all your time hyping it up or spend that time making sure you do everything right? They are spending their time making the game better for you and I, not wasting time making youtube vids.

*facepalm* What will this community think of next? this is An absolute waste of a thread. Bare in mind the fact that there are going to be loads of OTHER white listed servers where your not gonna have to pay monthly. Lmao, if you want to waste your own money on a server and attempt this, go ahead. But your a fool if you do..

Nobody said your rig needs to be $1000 as you claim. Mine is only $750~ and I'll probably run it just fine. Consoles actually turn out to be more expensive than PCs after you buy the console online playing subscription, $60 games, etc. With that being said, your statement about people not being able to drop $1000 is invalid, you do it all the time on consoles.

Hey, the hardware requirements thing would make sense, although would scare off some of the more poor adults that would love to experience the game. At least maybe just list something most kids cant afford like an I5 and a 750 ti

What if there was a select amount of land in Roseport or any of the major cites that was devoted for holding a farmer's market. What I mean is that, what if on Saturday and Sunday (in real life), player farmers and merchants could sell their food and merchandise to other players, in an open-event similar to a real-life farmer's market. Farmers and merchants could rent display shelves and pop-up tents to sell their products. I think it would be interesting.

I don't support this idea Paying 1 time i think its enough, Not all kids are immature, you are just saying this as a whole judgement, this is why admin/mods exist within the community servers

Do they have your address: I would think that in identity they would. But I could be wrong so don't quote me on that! Can the Police show up at your house if you've done something wrong: Motown answered this on another post!: And if someone snitches on you can they tell the police where you live and then they arrest me at my house? : Again I wouldn't say in your house, but if you are caught outside of your house and you have a warrant, you can and probably will be arrested!

The best way to contribute is to pledge some money, this will give the devs more money to hire different and experienced freelancers and maybe even hire more full time people.

The only problem is that there are people who will be passionate about this game, but won't be willing to pay a subscription. Sure, it makes there be less kids, but there will still be some stubborn kids willing to pay their allowance every month to play still. If people don't love the game, then they most likely will just stop playing. Not everyone has extra money at the end of a month, in fact some of us barely scrape by with enough to have food on the table. You say there is no negatives, but people will stop paying and stop playing the game. I am very passionate about this game, and sure I could go a couple days without coffee to pay for a subscription, but a whole lot of the player base isn't going to scrape up extra cash to keep paying every month.

You are correct, there would be less guns in total. However, you are wrong to say that it would solve crime, as you are only removing guns from law abiding citizens. Those who wish to do crime, would still have guns nonetheless.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) 1. How are Kickstarter backers different from website backers? There is only one difference between backer rewards for the Kickstarter and website. Kickstarter backers will receive a unique in-game hat with the Kickstarter logo. Website backers receive a hat with the Identity logo. No new content in the future will ever display either of these logos. 2. Many people are confused on what the game is about. Would you mind telling us what your vision for the game is? Is the game more about Cops vs Robbers, or a balance between all the available paths? Identity is a cops and robbers game at heart, but it is a life simulator in so many other ways. We’re catering to role-play in a way that is possibly the first of its kind. Players have the freedom to pursue careers that will impact the player economy in their own unique way. Become a taxi driver, deliver goods to player-owned businesses, fight fires, save lives, argue a case in criminal court, or just hold out your hand and beg for money. Find, or steal your ‘identity’! 3. What can you tell us about the world? World size? Player limit? We anticipate that the playable world size will be 200 square kilometers, or 77 square miles in comparison. This means that the whole map is 14 km wide, and would take about an hour and a half to walk across. We hope to support up to 300 players (or more!) per server. 4. Can you expand on the professions? We know there will be cops, but what types of jobs will be available for civilians? Will they be able to create their own businesses? Create their own items? etc. Also, Medics and Firefighters? Players can choose from a wide range of professions, including the ability to become a Firefighter, EMT, Taxi Driver, Farmer, Bounty Hunter, Fisherman, Logger, Miner, Delivery Driver and even a business entrepreneur. The options available to you as a player get more specific than this even, but we aren’t yet ready to expand on the full list. The direction of development is prone to change, and we don’t want to promise anything that might change down the pipeline. Business ownership allows players to own factories and small business, giving them control over what items are manufactured and sold. Items created by a factory must be delivered to their destination city where store owners in that area can decide what quantity and type (formal wear, casual, punk outfits, weapons, etc.) they wish to list in their business. Some default items are always available in all stores for when market demand is not met. 5. How will death be handled? When a player dies, some items such as the money the player is carrying at that time, will be dropped on the ground and will become accessible to anyone in the area that wishes to take it. Clothing items will never be dropped. We have decided that a player’s character appearance in a social game like Identity is important. You will always look the way you decide your character to look. If the player is not resusitated by an EMT or teammate, the player is then prompted to respawn at the location of their last sync (house, apartment, city) Private servers have some control over what types of items players will drop on death, if any at all. 6. Can you expand on how the housing system will work? Size and availability of apartments and houses? Players can choose to own or rent housing in Identity, while apartments can also be shared with a friend or roommate depending on the size of the property. For instance, two friends, or a married couple can choose to purchase a 2 bedroom apartment where they both can live comfortably with each other. Apartments and houses are fully customizable, allowing players to place furniture and objects anywhere in the room. Home-owners can invite other players into their apartment or house at any time. Players cannot access another players home without an invitation. 7. Will there be any specific safe areas where people can go AFK or sit and socialize without being killed or robbed? There are safe zones within certain types of buildings in Identity. Metal detectors serve to preserve immersion, and will temporarily remove any weapons upon entry, allowing all players in the area to safely relax, socialize and meet new friends. These safe zones are known to us as “Sub-Hubs” or social gathering points that reflect on the lifestyle theme of their environment (Biker Bar, Business club, Bum alley, etc.). While many of these areas can only be accessed by law-abiding citizens, some Sub-Hubs are neutral and can be entered by any player on the map. Few areas are designated gathering points for active criminals looking for the right crime of opportunity, or new friends to help them plan their next heist. 8. How will player identification work in game? Will names appear above players heads? If so, at what distances will they be seen? As our design stands right now, the official servers do display names over heads within certain ranges. Some things like masks and balaclavas can affect this. Moreover, private servers have an option where they can hide names from all players unless greeted. By this I mean you won’t see the name over another player until they perform an emote action, after which you’ll always see their name.
