It is inevitable. No matter how much we complain and no matter how many restrictions they put in place, we need to come to the realisation that children (immature ones in particular) are going to get their hands on this game. Kids who treat this game like GTA or COD. It is going to happen no matter what precautions we take. I would like to discuss possible ways that we, as a community can come together and instead of prevention, we need to decide how to deal with the issues. I recommend that we act mature. If a kid is mass RDMing, don't kick and scream, don't act like a kid in OOC, just ignore them. I know it will be hard, but it is the only way we can discourage kids from playing like that. Kids are apart of the community, and while we would all rather not have them here, its not something we can control. If a kid is RDMing, run and hide and quietly report it on the forums. Act like you arent even annoyed, like you just want to report it incase it happens again. They commit these actions for an equal and opposite reaction, we dont want to give them the reactions that entice them to commit the atupid actions. Can we as a community agree to treat these situations calmly? Let me know your thoughts below.

@Valtorix I honestly cannot take this person seriously. The amount of utter garbage that they have displayed all over these forums has really astounded me. I get that there will be trolls, and small children who just want to grief, but just the amount of disrespect and general asshatery that thecop34 has put forth kind of ticks me off. Since there will be law enforcement officials in game and on the forums, i don't want them to be given a bad name. I really don't want the toxicity around, although it is inevitable, in this world because of the sheer size, scope and realism that it entails. So to make this reply on topic. I think this idea would deter so many people from playing. Imagine you work all week to finally get that thing you wanted, you buy it. You're so happy because you finally made your goal. Then some "cop" pulls you over for no reason, or some punk decides he wants what you have. Boom, you get shot and lose everything. Now @thecop34, Imagine that person was you. Would you even respawn in the world? Or would you just give up and leave the game because you're so annoyed that that system is in place? In conclusion, I say this "idea" would not fit this game at all. It would ruin the game and fun for all involved.

The amount of grammatical errors this kid has regurgitated makes me sorry for future generations. I can't wait to hear the crying that comes when they (he or she) do not pass the test for becoming a police officer, or when they get banned from every single server because they are so immature. So @thecop34 i suggest you go play gmod with the rest of the children and leave the adults alone before you get put in your place. Also, good luck during training. I seriously hope you can grow up very soon.

They wouldn't buy an RPG if they didn't like it. Who are you to dictate who buys a game? If I want to purchase a game, I will purchase it. Why would I purchase a game if I wasn't interested? This is an RPG called Identity, everyone is unique and plays uniquely. If YOU aren't interested in that, maybe YOU shouldnt buy the game. That's just tough luck. In this game guns will be rare and so will cars so I wouldn't expect this to happen. Even still, as I said before, you have no right to dictate who plays a game. Whitelisting official servers is an outrageous idea and honestly quite ignorant, how will people learn how to play if they don't get the opportunity to play until they are experts? Just because people don't play how you want them to doesn't mean they shouldn't play.
  7. 2 points
I know you're talking about Arma 3 (not sure why) but I've heard this same argument made about this game. The answer is: people who aren't interested in roleplay really shouldn't be buying a roleplay game.
  8. 2 points
No, it wouldn't be fair to the people who aren't really interested in role-playing. And also, I could buy 500$ worth of game and be unable to play because a random guy thinks that I'm not good enough. If you want whitelist, find a private server.

This is not libertarian at all. "Sex reassignment surgery or SRS is going to be free of charge." This is extremely anti-libertarian, nothing is free, so by saying you are going to provide a free service, you are saying you are going to force someone (in this case the surgeon) to do the governments bidding. Any time the government is going to do something for free, it implies a use of federal force.

@BioHaze This would be really interesting to see how it would be implemented in the game in an official capacity. Of course, even if there was no real implementation, players could technically make a business out of it where the business owner (teacher) teaches players/customers (students) how to do something or about something. Very interesting role play could come out of this and it could be very usefull (ex: teaching controls and functions of the game for starters). Family First, Mission Always. Stay Safe.

Well one kind of solution would be that we could handle the occassional RDMer as a terrorist or mass shooter and give the SWAT team and police something to do. Besides, the devs have said that firearms will be difficult to get, unlike GTA or COD. I bet most civs wont even carry a gun. Automatic weapons will be crazy expensive and hard to get, plus they would lose them once they are shot down by police. It would probably take these kids weeks of playing to obtain another powerful firearm. Plus, there will be large jail sentences and respawn timers for these RDMers so they cant just spawn again 10 minutes later and do the same shit.

Crusaders Division - Knights Needed Knights are the sworn guards of The Gentleman's Club and their assets. With a lot of wealth, members of The Gentleman's Club need protection from prodding criminals. Knights are selected based on their backgrounds and those with military or special forces backgrounds are more likely to be picked over a shoe shop owner. They are taken through rigorous training to ensure they are capable of protecting the club house of the club and its vault. More career opportunities will arise from within this rank such as a rank up to a more senior role and a well-earned pay rise. If the situation arises that a member of the club is targeted, the Knights will accept the role of a personal bodyguard for that member until the problem is eradicated. If you see yourself working as a guard for wealthy men in the future then look no further. Expect a solid salary and shifts that suit you. We hope to find people that have some experience with this role whether it be within other games such as arma or just via the knowledge you have IRL. We seek men who are well disciplined and trustworthy. If you would like to discuss applying for this role, please PM me and we can discuss it further, reviewing your characters background and attributes. Herzog Chairman of The Gentleman's Club

My ideas and suggestions for Law Enforcement in the game By @Indoorseeker If you have any questions please ask Outline 1 Mission, Vision, Core Values, Code of Ethics 2 Hiring Process 3 Hierarchy and Rank 4 Organizational Chart 5 Real life levels of Law Enforcement in the United States 6 In Game levels of Law Enforcement 7 Real life population ratios versus In Game population ratios 8 Law Enforcement Presence 9 Duties and functions 10 Tools, Gear, Equipment, Uniforms, Vehicles 1 Law Enforcement Mission, Vision, Core Values, Code of Ethics These are important for any real law enforcement agency to have as these items are often the foundation of what makes your agency and what your agency strives for. (Example) Mission Our mission is to safeguard the lives, rights and property of the people we serve; to reduce the incidence and fear of crime; and to enhance public safety while working with our community to improve their quality of life. Vision It is our vision to make our community one of the safest and most enjoyable places to live and to be a leader in public safety. Core Values Professionalism, Honor, Integrity, Courage, Excellence Law Enforcement Code of Ethics As a Law Enforcement Officer, my fundamental duty is to serve mankind; to safeguard lives and property; to protect the innocent against deception, the weak against oppression or intimidation, and the peaceful against violence or disorder; and to respect the Constitutional rights of all men to liberty, equality and justice. I will keep my private life unsullied as an example to all; maintain courageous calm in the face of danger, scorn, or ridicule; develop self-restraint; and be constantly mindful of the welfare of others. Honest in thought and deed in both my personal and official life, I will be exemplary in obeying the laws of the land and the regulations of my department. Whatever I see or hear of a confidential nature or that is confided to me in my official capacity will be kept ever secret unless revelation is necessary in the performance of my duty. I will never act officiously or permit personal feelings, prejudices, animosities or friendships to influence my decisions. With no compromise for crime and with relentless prosecution of criminals, I will enforce the law courteously and appropriately without fear or favor, malice or ill will, never employing unnecessary force or violence and never accepting gratuities. I recognize the badge of my office as a symbol of public faith, and I accept it as a public trust to be held so long as I am true to the ethics of the police service. I will constantly strive to achieve these objectives and ideals, dedicating myself before God* to my chosen profession...law enforcement. *footnote... individuals not obligated or required to mention God in their oath if they choose. 2 The Hiring Process In real life a person applying and testing to become a police officer will usually go through the following steps: apply to agency, participate in written and physical test, your application good scores will help place you on the agency candidate list, agency conducts oral board interview, one on one interview, background check, psychological test, doctors physical, final interview and official offer of employment. After the offer of employment the person would go into a probationary period of employment and start training with in the agency and then go to an academy usually within the first 6 months of hire. To my knowledge, game creators have said that there will be an application process that is a quiz and/or test that players will be required to take and that will determine if they can become a law enforcement officer or not. This quiz and/or test will be an automatic function on official servers to my understanding. 3 Hierarchy and Rank It is my suggestion and recommendation that the law enforcement agency on the game identity be the Sheriff's Office. I will explain more later. Sheriff Under sheriff Major Captain Sergeant Corporal Deputy Recruit 4 Organizational Chart Please refer to the attached image LE ORGANIZATIONAL CHART below 5 Real life levels of Law Enforcement in the United States Federal- federal agencies police all over the nation and usually respond at the request of state, local, and municipal agencies. State- the state police or state patrol polices the entire state, mainly on highways. County- the sheriff's office polices in all areas of the county, especially unincorporated cities and towns. Municipal - a police department polices in an incorporated city. 6 In Game levels of Law Enforcement As seen suggested on the forum, the population capacity on official servers is hoped to be about 300 players. Realistically for the game, it would be best to have one law enforcement agency that operates in order to save time, resources, and server space. I am suggesting it be a Sheriff's Office because Municipal Agencies in real life only patrol with in the city limits of the incorporated city they are based in. The county sheriff's office patrols all areas of the county, incorporated or not. And when you have a county who's population is really small, similar to the 300 player capacity in the game, it would be the sheriff's office that is the law enforcement presence in the area. You would not see a police department until a city was large enough to become incorporated. Also, the sheriff in real life is an elected official as well as a sworn in law enforcement officer. If this part was implemented into the game, it could provide an interesting feature to the game and role play environment. 7 Real life population ratios versus In Game population ratios In real life, according to FBI statistics, the average ratio of law enforcement officers to the general population is about 2 officers for every 1,000 people. So realistically, 300 people would only require one officer technically, but for role play and immersion there will be more people playing as police officers. I would recommend not going more than 10 % or 30 officers on a server. The other thing to think about is that Law Enforcement agencies are paid with tax payer money. Taxes are collected and a portion is reserved to pay for public safety and law enforcement wages. So if the official server is implemented to be as realistic as possible, the island government may not even have enough funds to pay for a lot of law enforcement officers. 8 Law Enforcement Presence In real life, on a shift, police generally break up their patrol area into different sections. This is especially true for a sheriff's office that covers a lot of square miles. Each section is assigned an officer or officers that will patrol that area or section for the duration of their shift. In scenarios where there is a request for additional officers to assist or an emergency dictates more officers, officers in that area or from different sections will respond to meet the need of the scenario. Not everyone would respond all at once, depending on the emergency or situation, but if a request is made or needed, 1 or 2 other officers will break off from their normal patrol and go to where the officer is needed to assist. 9 Duties and functions It is the duty of law enforcement to protect and serve. Both protecting and enforcing the law as well as protecting the individual lives, rights and property of the people they serve. The primary force of law enforcement is on the road. Thus a Patrol Division. The presence of officers on the road and the best coverage on the road is the best deterrent of crime and the fear of crime. The secondary force would be corrections. From small to large counties, the sheriff's office is responsible for the county jail and the smallest of agencies do not separate Sheriff's Deputies and Corrections Officers. For the purpose of the game, it would be best to train and use officers to fulfill the role and function of both Deputies on the road and Deputies in corrections. The third and forth force, investigations and special operations in the largest of agencies will have their own divisions but not always full time. The majority of agencies use already existing officers to fulfill the role of Special Weapons And Tactics. For the purpose of the game, normal officers can be used to fulfill the roles and duties of detectives, swat, air support, drug task force, gang task force, etc as they are needed when situations arise. The best use of resources is to have an officer that has multiple functions and can perform multiple types of tasks and responsibilities. 10 Tools, Gear, Equipment, Uniforms, Vehicles In real life this includes Duty belt Ballistic vest Vest carrier Holsters Firearms, pistol, rifle, shotgun Tasers Flashlights Baton Handcuffs Magazines Radio equipment OC/Pepper Spray Uniform and additional things like coats, etc. Gear bag First Aid Riot Gear Police Barriers Police Vehicle I am really interested to see an in depth customization of uniforms and equipment in the game. Please let me know if you have any questions. Family First, Mission Always. Stay Safe.

The Educating of Identity Identity is an island of newcomers. Thanks to a MASSIVE expected immigration and tourism boost once the island becomes open to those outside of the First Landers like ourselves, we can expect a lot of confusion. The island will be full of wonderful questions such as “Where do I go to become a valuable member of society?” and “How do I establish myself as a respected Citizen?” These questions will of course fall side by side with “Hey guise how do i buy a rcket lancher and blow up da bank$$$?” All of these questions and more will be handled with my proposed Identity Education system. We have the opportunity within this community to do something entirely new and unique! We don’t have to push forward with the same old drudge of basic political drama and mudslinging, we can actually think together a system that strives for the betterment of the island as a whole, and not just a select group of individuals. Here I will present my plan in three overlapping arcs. Identity will be FILLED to the brim once the island opens, so here is my three part plan on refining our most valuable resource. New Players. That’s right. The question slinging, bad mic wielding, 13 year olds who claim they have 15 years of RP experience and served in the military. Now, you may ask, “Gabe why on earth would I want this walking, talking ball of bad decision making to come bounding into my storefront asking for a job?” Well, I’m going to explain to you just why that is. While these players are characteristically immature and poor roleplayers it is important to remember that they still live on the island forever. A community of bumbling Neanderthals who don’t know their roleplaying bone from the hot lead that pours fourth from their shiny new pistol is not a community I want to live in. With that in mind, I introduce ARC 1 of my plan, Initiation. Initiation will pay experienced players to act as a guide to the island! The new citizens may be taken in groups or as individuals on a personal tour of the basic activities and quality of life we enjoy here on the island, and explain to them the proper way to interact with others. This tour will be short but sweet, as engaged participants in the tour will receive a “grade” upon how well they handle the island and how ready they appear to be to enter Islander Life. This grade will follow a standard graded scale listing A-F with E being excluded. Willing participants in the tour will be compensated slightly upon completion, but the real reward will be in receiving their grade. Someone who is well spoken, with a clear and understandable voice, shows maturity, and can quickly grasp and understand the “feel” of our island will receive an “A” grading. Those who act immaturely, show little interest in learning or even understanding basic island laws, and those likely to quickly be on the wrong side of a server moderator Karma will receive lower grading such as an “F”. At this point you may be asking, “Possible Governor-Elect Gabe, why do we bother grading them? Is this going to be as pointless of a grade as that time my middle school Home Ec teacher gave me a B for not remembering to change my flour sack baby’s diaper for a week?” No. That grade was well deserved, and you shouldn’t beat yourself up too bad over it. But this grade has a very valuable point. New players can take their grade ‘To the bank!’ as they say and cash it in for a cushy job! This brings me to ARC 2 in my plan, Occupation. Occupation will give players an official signet of their grade and allow them to show this to possible employers who will see that a player is either ready to enter into their particular line of work, or not. This plan will of course account for those who intend on following a less legal approach to earning a living, as possible employers of these bravado bandits can of course get some use out of knowing that the man delivering his “Chopped Oregano” to the back of Mick’s Warehouse is a quality individual and capable of handling basic instruction! Players can wear their rating as a badge of honor and a symbol of pride! Those who earn a less than reputable grade on their first arrival at the island can of course take the course again to improve their score, there is no fee for retrying the course. While it will be entirely up to the population of Identity to determine the validity of this score, the grading system offers newcomers a possible head start at proving their worth to their community. This leads us headlong into ARC 3, Inhabitation. Inhabitation will deal with the process of ensuring our lovely new immigrant friends stay on the island! With an incentivized program that supports showing positive advancement in the community we can ensure that our newfound friends are here to stay! I would suggest a point reward system, so as not to flood the market with unnecessary cash funding. Players within their first month of stay on the island will be given “points” for making positive advancements in their life! A player who earns his first $1,000 can expect to earn a point on his “Identity Value” which is a score that will be tallied and hold weight within the new government. Did you get pulled over? Well, you can pay the fine (and do the time) for those three hulking kilos of pure Colombian Sugar in your trunk, OR you can expend a point! You get off scot free, but your drugs will still have to go with the boys in blue, sorry. Or maybe you are a startup business owner who isn’t quite sure if he’ll be able to pay rent on your shop this month…two points paid out to your local government may just get you out of the rent bill! The possibilities are endless with this model as to what earns points and what they can be used for. Now, you may say “Oh great and powerful Oz who is Gabe Garrison, our hero in a time of need, just how will these points improve immigrant retention? Won’t this system get tossed to the side as players do what they want? I don’t want to follow a guideline for how to live my life and you can’t make me!” That’s the fun! The point system will work much like an “achievement” that we see in modern video game culture today. With naturally occurring milestones (buying first vehicle, first paycheck, first nice suit, first court case avoided) will all be happy occurrences that earn points along the way. The new citizen will never feel pressured to earn these points to stay ahead of other members of the island, they will just be pleased to see that their production and continual path to becoming a person of good faith and advancement pays out in the island of Identity. With a continued joy and reward in doing the things they would normally do, we can expect player new citizen retention to be sensationally high, with a better quality of life for all those involved or around the program and the Island. Now, all this is just one of my many ideas for improving Identity! I will not announce a formal running for a government position unless I see support from my fellow islanders, as I hope my idea gets put into place no matter who becomes the leader of Identity. If enough support is shown, I will announce my formal running and establish a proper campaign platform and political stance. I will likely run under a new party name. I have some great ideas for the Island of Identity, and I only hope that you will allow my ideas to affect your lives, wheather that be as your governor or as your fellow citizen. Thank you for your time and remember, Gabe Garrison: For an Identity with a Future. (also looking for someone to do an illustration of my Three Arc’s as a flag; also looking for a running mate who shares my possible values, shoot me a message if you have anything to say about either!)

The Law enforcement department should be expected to persuade the state to increase it's budget in order to purchase advanced equipment. For example, the department must provide the state with evidence confirming that the department has progressed with arresting criminals for an X amount of offenses while arguing that possessing drones could reduce the crime rate within the city. In the process, the citizens of the state could argue for or against such technology in order to secure their Right to privacy. Either way, drones does not appear to be a negative idea within the game.

Ladies and Gentlemen the time has come, After putting a lot of thought into it, the amount that people invested in us, the cost of real buses and fuel prices in mind along with the most populated of areas - We have devised our first bus line, the Inter-City Green Line with stops in some of the most visited and important areas on the Island utilizing just one line (for now) When the game is released, this rout will be our main focus for the Public Transport side of things. You may have to zoom into the map to see some of the stops, we wanted to make them more proportionate as bus stops and not bus zones The Core Transport Corporation would appreciate if the image of the rout below was not copied or re-distributed to others without prior permission, please respect this, thank you. Any feedback on this rout or other routs would be much appreciated.

I like @157C approach, & I agree that 45 minutes is way too short. Also, as I've said on another post, if you've got people just running around guns a blazing causing havoc, politicians & police need to step in & do something about it. Those people need day or week long bans, "in prison", with no option of break outs. Just my opinion. You CAN NOT allow these types of crimes to happen in the type of game that you're hoping to accomplish. I'll throw my name in the hat for whatever political seat is needed to be sure that these laws are fierce for those that disrupt our lifestyle.

Description: I'm starting up a armored car business, as in one of the trucks that comes to your local bank/store to take the money to the bank (No pun intended). I think it would be a cool job and an absolute necessity to keep all of the money safe. So basically you will contact this company and tell them size dimensions of what you need transported and we'll send out an armored truck to get the job done. We can branch out to other things, not just money. We would take whatever item it is to where it needs to go (Money---->Bank). We will insure your money or item(s) fully as we have insured you everything will be safe. Updates will come below as I develop the company. Update: We will be a no questions asked sort of company. You need it done and can pay for it, sounds good to me. Our company will also be international but will begin in the US but will eventually reach around the world as long as the business roles in. Will need to keep a nice fluid schedule going. Head of Marketing - Will handle getting our business out there and letting people know what we do, basically advertising. Head of Tech - Will keep our company up to date on the latest and greatest technology to keep our trucks as secure as possible. Yesterday afternoon, for another Identity Insider, we've released a video detailing the workings of player housing in Identity and what it has to offer at our present point in development. This gives you a good idea of the level of fidelity we're going for in all of our key systems, and more videos will follow as we continue. Housing was chosen for our first video as our initial focus in development is for features present in the upcoming Town Square module. If you haven't already seen the video, check it out above. Housing as you've seen in the video is an excellent place to hang out with friends, but it has a lot of good practical uses, too! First, housing is the primary storage location for items you've collected. Whether it's a bookshelf full of books, a gun-rack with wall-mounted guns, or a crate full of junk, it's sort of like a bank for tangible stuff. Housing is also valuable for moderate crafting, too. Some advanced recipes might require a factory, but a lot of stuff can be created at your home using special crafting tables. A hydroponics table can even be used to grow small-scale plants, legal or otherwise!

I hope you'll have some variety. Ripped jeans, worn leather jackets, some nice boots. Maybe some fashionable suits. Just saying. Like the idea though.

I love how your sig says 'we love beating criminals for fun' hmmm i somewhat think that wont happen. Itll either get you banned or just shot by every criminal in the game.
