Yesterday afternoon, for another Identity Insider, we've released a video detailing the workings of player housing in Identity and what it has to offer at our present point in development. This gives you a good idea of the level of fidelity we're going for in all of our key systems, and more videos will follow as we continue. Housing was chosen for our first video as our initial focus in development is for features present in the upcoming Town Square module. If you haven't already seen the video, check it out above. Housing as you've seen in the video is an excellent place to hang out with friends, but it has a lot of good practical uses, too! First, housing is the primary storage location for items you've collected. Whether it's a bookshelf full of books, a gun-rack with wall-mounted guns, or a crate full of junk, it's sort of like a bank for tangible stuff. Housing is also valuable for moderate crafting, too. Some advanced recipes might require a factory, but a lot of stuff can be created at your home using special crafting tables. A hydroponics table can even be used to grow small-scale plants, legal or otherwise!

You don't need to wait for anything. Leave the forums so us people who care about the game can enjoy the new footage.

Don't agree with him if you agreed with me in pm about what I said because they are the opposite of each other. (pm: The Video) yeah.. that conversation. Ok firstly, the kickstarter video was the video of when this project was as a concept and not actually in full development as they were just selling the concept to us. Secondly games are never normally announced before being atleast 2 years in development when they give a trailer. This trailer is a teaser as such to the game itself and should not be seen as a full on trailer other than to one big feature to the game. Everyone who has been waiting knew in some way the first video they would release was purely on the housing customisation features only, as it was to show the full potential on that feature/ area. I would not expect a big "trailer" like you want to be before the 2 year development mark and I think a lot of the players waiting for the game would clearly agree on that.

Text chat will be available to you in Identity! There will be local chat, as well as private messaging. We acknowledge that the convenience of voice chat isn't always what people want in every situation. Whether you are shy, or you want to pretend to be someone else, or even if someone in your proximity is trying to sleep, we don't want to suppress your ability to get a message across, but we do think that those who want and will use voice chat, will inherently have an enhanced experience in Identity.

Hey there everyone, I'm a huge fan of RPG's like Fallout and Skyrim and I've been a dedicated fan of SA:MP and the Sims for years now. As far as real life stuff goes, I'm pretty normal. Just a small town kid with big dreams of being a writer. - I'm also a graphic designer and have worked on a lot of art and gfx for people. I'm really looking forward to seeing this game and community grow and I hope you all will accept me with open arms. - Me and a few of my friends will be pledging and registering soon as we hope to have a lot of fun in this game and community. Best wishes. - Prescott

This is very nice. I'm not sure if the topic creator understand the amount of work and detail that was put into this. I'm impressed and looking forward to more!

I've seen the most recent video and I'm excited for interior decorating. I, however, dislike the idea of drag and move when placing large items like beds and stuff as they're not even. Either a snap to grid or a rotate by 80 degrees would be nice.
  11. 2 points
It's more realistic without grids, but I guess some people with OCD will need it

I'd like to apologize in advance for what comes next: You my friend are a moron, Identity is an MMO ....one more time just so you can't claim you missed it.....Identity is an MMO......okay are we clear on that now? The average mmo can take anywhere between three to five years to develop, so the fact that you are seeing footage in a year AND taking into account that Asylum only have nine people working on it full time, is actually pretty amazing. Try doing some simple research before posting maybe? Now granted, Identity will not need much voice acting, it will also not need the traditional quests either, so some time will be saved there. But take into account the systems like jobs & careers etc, I'd imagine anyone who expects to see this hit launch before 2018 is going to be disappointed. Now try to remember Fataldutch........NOT a single player game right? it's an mmo.

There is actually a lot more shown there than it might look. If you have experience in game development at all, you know how long each thing takes. The amount of effort required to even do minor things, like having a lamp be placed near an outlet is crazy. This is actually the first bit of actual gameplay, and I'm actually surprised how advanced this is before the first version of the game is even released. I mean, what do you want them to show us? They've made it clear how they want to wait for everything to be finished before they show anything, and I doubt the Town Square is finished being created. Most of the features this game will have will look pretty plain and boring to just show on video, they've explained what it is going to be, and I think to get the full wow factor they actually have to be tried out by you to get any better experience. I got a lot from this video, the fact that there is both first and third person views, the design of the characters, the quality of the graphics, radios, tvs that actually work, which is pretty amazing really, computer software, really good lighting physics and shadows etc.

Hey Golden, Identity will be on Steam, but I'm not sure it will be on Steam during beta testing. You may have to download it from a custom launcher available on our website in order to test when the time comes. We will make more payment options available in the future from our website long before their are any changes to the current pledge tier options.

Identity's Town Square, a closed-off section of the Ash Hill city center, gives you a sneak peak at some of the items you've received from pledging to Identity. With a few dozen people per town square server, you can hang out and play games with other Identity fans while waiting on future modules and the full Identity world. ^this what we get at 2017 world, cars - 2018 and later

Imagine spending 1-2 years crafting something just to get comments like "Is this a joke?". Game development takes time and needs support and patience, not comments like this.

In my opinion, I believe they delivered on what they said they were going to put out. They said that the video that was coming is a 'Housing video' that shows off housing features; which they did. I don't believe they under-delivered. They also showed us the third person perspective (without really announcing it, I just think it's worth noting that the feature was in there) and intractability with the environment. Had they said this video was going to be a full fledged gameplay video, then I would have been disappointed; but the devs delivered what they promised... A housing video, and it was pretty cool!

Like James said above, the game has only been in development for about a year. It takes time to perfect major functions of the game, and expecting them to finish it that quickly would be unfair, in my opinion. I believe that time can only make the game better, so I have no problem waiting. Not an attack on you, but just be courteous, as they're only a 9-person team and seem to be putting in a great amount of effort into developing the game.

You must remember also we talking about a Dev team of 9 some have other jobs to commit to.

After the release the apartment customization trailer, Feared N Fearless is very certain they have made the right choice in expanding into identity. At this rate of steady progress in making a solid and deep game, we are confident in our choice in identity, and hope this community won't be a toxic place like GTA Online.

They said on twitter that the more a gun wears down, the higher chance it will have of jamming, the reason for that is they don't want people hoarding the same guns, they want them to be cycled out and having to keep on being made. Personally I like this idea because it will stop people hoarding every gun they get, if they use it, eventually it will be unreliable due to jamming.

Hello citizens! It's been too long since our last developer blog entry, so I wanted to take the time today to update all of our backers on Identity's current state of development, as well as give a little more insight into the process behind the scenes. During the first year and a bit of development, most of the time was spent developing key backend systems. Networking modifications, weapon physics, character customization, voice communication and so on. That's all behind us now, and I'm happy to say it's gone as well as we could have hoped. Now and for the past couple of months we've moved on to gameplay development, making those backend features do the fun stuff. This Month in Development In this last month our lead character artist, Miroslav, has finished up everything we need for your characters going into the Town Square release. We're always going to be adding more character customizations over time, but to start you'll have the choice between 4 male and 5 female race options. After selecting your base race you can customize further with skin tones, blemishes, scars, eye color, hair styles, hair colors and tweaks to facial features. Identity is expanding on the usual character customization, though, as some of the options available can only be gotten through achievements. Prison tattoos are an example; if you see someone with such a tattoo you know they've done something to earn it. A lot of work this month has also gone into the player housing systems. In following our previous messages, our home customization system has been in place for some months although we've been expanding the floorplans in preperation for the Town Square module release. Sean, or Motown as you may know him, has prepared the various apartments you will have in the Town Square. If you have made a smaller pledge to Identity and do not have an apartment yet, we're going to be giving you access to a temporary (small) home in the Town Square so that you can play with the cusomization features. If you've pledged for a package containing an apartment, Town Square will show what you'll have in the full Identity game upon release. Just this morning our lead programmer, Henrik (AKA Mathalion), finished up the karaoke systems. It's a minor feature for Identity as a whole, but it's going to be loads of fun in the Town Square module! Just off the lobby of the hotel is a slick little bar, complete with a karaoke stage. You'll be able to queue up your favorite songs on the karaoke machine and see the lyrics on one of the monitors around the stage. The microphone on the stage really works, too, amplifying your voice out of the speakers so that your singing can be heard by everyone there! Most of us are terrible singers, so karaoke is going to have a lot of hilarious moments. If you're just there to watch, the restaurant by the stage is fully functional, too! It's Been Too Long I'll just come right out and say it: we at Asylum Entertainment have really had poor PR these last months, and you guys deserve better. You deserve much more frequent updates, and we're committing to give you that moving forward. We're a relatively small development team today. Currently a core staff of 5 incredibly talented full-time developers, I'm amazed every day with what this team can accomplish. Outside of our core we have a handful of part-time workers, mostly artists, who are also very skilled. Because we're a small team, many of us have to wear several hats. For example, Sean is our community manager but also a 3D artist. I myself am the project manager, a programmer and interface developer. This leads to few resources to dedicate towards PR as there's so much work to be done on the game itself. This is something we knew though, and we're going to set some time aside regularly to keep you in the loop. The Town Square module is coming soon. We're in the final months of 2016 now, and you'll finally be inside the first piece of the Identity world in the first quarter of 2017. It's a little later than we originally hoped since we're dedicated to making sure everything is smooth and stable from the first moments. Identity is an enormous undertaking, but the most difficult bits are behind us and we're drawing near! What to Expect The first stage of game development is always very boring to talk about, and also doesn't give us much to show you. Creating those backend systems that drive the game behind the scenes is one of the most important phases, but it's not very glamorous. It's for this reason that most games aren't announced until they're a couple years into development. Now that we're past that point, we're going to be able to start showing you real Identity gameplay. The first gameplay video you'll see is going to be in November and will show you just how detailed and in-depth Identity is becomming! You'll see a walkthrough of our housing system, showing just how far it can be customized and some of the cool fun features you'll find in there. Following that video we'll give you a glimpse of the Town Square features, leading up to its release. It's been a ton of work and a long time coming, but we're moving forward at a great pace and everything is about to get very exciting over here.

DEV BLOG #001 Greetings Citizens, It has been just over a year since you helped successfully kick start Identity into existence! We want to thank you all for your continued support by providing you all with regular updates following the development process for Identity. Engaging with our community is one of the best ways we can show our thanks, and a development blog is a perfect opportunity for us to bring you along for the ride. As you’ve seen throughout the past year, there is no game out there that is quite like Identity, and through your support, you have proven to us that Identity is a vision worth turning into a reality! Feedback has shown us that you all really appreciate our attempts to respond to virtually every question we receive on social media. Twitter and Facebook have been a huge boost in exposure for Identity, and so it is time we begin to explore other avenues of exposure to help our community understand a bit more about the game. In the coming months, our fans will see their first glimpse of gameplay for Identity! We are all extremely excited to show off our first gameplay video, which will fully explore the mechanics of apartment and housing customization. With this video, you will see that we have stayed true to our original art direction from the original Kickstarter trailer, while maintaining high standards in realistic lighting and graphics. We can safely say that we have improved many of the areas of our design that needed attention since February last year. Apartment & Housing Customization Apartments and houses within Identity will have a fully customizable interior. You will be able to change the wall paper on every wall in every room, place furniture anywhere there is space on the ground, swap out doors, windows, baseboards, crown moulding, and even wainscoting! We have made no compromise to the level of detail in which you can customize your apartments or homes, in order to truly express your sense of home decor. With this level of control, there is virtually no chance that the interior of two homes will ever look alike. There will be hundreds of furniture items available to purchase in-game in every style and design, from traditional to contemporary. Furniture in Identity can even be crafted, sold, or traded to other players, and those who wish to try their hand at crafting hand-made furniture from a variety of materials can place a crafting table anywhere they wish inside their homes! And if you wish to share your space with a partner, friend, or even a group of friends, homes and apartments will be available for sale throughout the world that support multiple roommates depending the size of the space and how many bedrooms are available. The home-owner may even grant build permissions to any number of roommates, even visitors, to help them decorate their living space. When you are finished, invite your friends over to compliment you on your interior decorating skills! If you’re anything like us, we know you will spend more time cleaning up this virtual home than you do your real one! Radio This week, our team has also placed a lot of our development efforts into building a functioning radio system that will allow you to listen to your favorite real-world radio stations through placed radio objects inside your virtual home, or car! Yes, you can flip through the channels in your car radio, which will also broadcast to the immediate area outside your car. Imagine driving down the street and having everyone you pass know you listen to NSYNC! One other major part of this feature that we are excited to tell you about is player operated talk-shows which you can personally host, or tune-in and listen to, from your car radio or home. The way we currently have this planned out for hosts, is to have actual physical broadcast stations on the map that you can enter as a player and begin hosting your own radio talk-show. Player’s listening from their car or home can browse a list of channels currently being hosted at that very moment, and listen to you live, talking about government conspiracies and UFO’s! We are really hoping that this feature will have a major social impact for Identity. Like you, we see a lot of potential in something like this for budding stars within the community. We would absolutely love to see many of you sprout a career that started in a game we developed, and ended with us listening to your lovely voice on our actual car radio! The Town Square (Social Module) Many of you already know of, and are eagerly anticipating the release of the planned “Town Square” module that is currently still in production. While we can’t give you an exact date on when that will be ready, progress is steady, and we are as excited as you are to meet you all for the first time in a virtual environment. You may already be aware that Identity is largely influenced by a landmass in the south-eastern portion of the United States. The Town Square itself is only a small portion of a larger city built into the final version of Identity called Ash Hill, a reference to Asheville, North Carolina where we had originally planned to move Asylum’s office. We picked this area of the world particularly because it offered a wide range of geographical variance. The transition between Identity’s mix of biomes needed to feel natural, and this area offered most of what we had been looking for. As for the other cities in Identity, their influences may become more clear to you now. Myrtle Beach is obviously Turtle Beach in Identity, and Roseport is less subtle, but a mix between Atlanta and New York City. When we first started, we kept everything, including the structures and world props level to the ground, a mistake we have since corrected. We quickly realized that cities are rarely ever flat, and knew that setting that precedent now would benefit Identity in the future. The next time you see The Town Square module, we are confident that you will notice the difference compared to earlier screenshots, what such a small transformation makes for immersion in a game environment. Moving Forward We want to thank our community for being so patient with us. Over the course of the past year, we’ve seen many work-in-progress screenshots of assets destined for Identity, and while we believe they serve as a sample of the work we have already put into the game, we know that many of you are still anxious to see video. Our current priority is to get things ready to show off, or more specifically, the housing/apartment customization first. We are convinced that many of you will appreciate the time and effort we have put into this feature, so that you will be able to fully express yourself through your character and virtual home. We know we’ve been pretty quiet this past year, and the criticism we’ve heard from our fans on that through social media and the forums have not fallen on deaf ears! We will start to release regular updates through development blogs and continue to find new ways to interact with our community, to show you our gratitude for your support. You yourself can become more involved by contributing to the discussion with your ideas at www.identityrpg.com/community. We’ll see you there, and thank you again! Always remember that we are gamers too and we are as excited as you are to play Identity at launch!

Who We Are We are an established motorcycle club that has been in existence since June 27th, 2015. We are not murderers and thieves, like the media would have you believe. We are not terrorists or national threats, like the government tries to make us out to be. We are not all outlaws or criminals, like the A.M.A has written to outcast us. We are members of your community, we are citizens like you. We are enthusiasts of motorcycles, its lifestyle, and its culture. We are protectors of our communities and someone you can turn to, no matter the situation or odds. We are Feared N Fearless Motorcycle Club, a brotherhood and sisterhood that goes beyond blood or name. In essence we are a family of bikers who work hard to make sure our family is safe, and prosperous. We are one of the most reputable and respected motorcycle clubs found online, and no matter the odds, we always prevail and become stronger. We have been through many things throughout our existence, and we know more will come, but we prepare for any situation that can present itself. Some of us have been through our own forms of hell, and because of FNF MC, we have been strong enough to conquer them. All of this, makes us a tighter family than most other motorcycle clubs can offer, and makes FNF one of the best clubs to be part of. Our Mission Feared N Fearless' mission is to become the most reputable and respected motorcycle club in the servers we establish our charter(s) in, and become the most known motorcycle club across this community. Our focus is on loyalty, dedication, and longevity, and becoming the most respected and reputable will aid us in our focus. No matter the server, no matter community groups, we will be known and respected anywhere we go. We know respect and reputation is something that must be earned, and we will let nothing stand in our way to accomplish our mission. This mission even carries over into our recruitment, because earning your place here will be no easy task. We want to continue our brotherhood and have no care for quantity, only quality brothers here for the betterment of the club. 1% We are a "1% Motorcycle Club" and we flaunt it proudly, because we believe in, and defend, our rights and freedoms, even if the law, government, media, or even society is standing in our way. The American Motorcycle Association wants to label and shame us by calling us outlaw bikers, and we proudly accept that labeling, even if it gives us a stigma to society. We govern ourselves and hold ourselves accountable to different standard of law, and if it conflicts with society's law, so be it. Some of our members may become involved in criminal activity or there may be even convicts within our ranks, but this doesn't reflect the club because we don't encourage violence or illegal activities. Any illegal activities any member becomes part of, is their decision, not the club's. What We Do We party, we ride, we fight, we do anything we want, whenever we want to do it. We hold rides, runs, shows, charities, parties, national celebrations, and even conventions to mix it up with our neighbors and friends. With that being said, our business is our own. Any club business is not discussed with anyone outside the club, and we respect and defend our right to privacy. Whatever our business is, if the public needs to know about it, we will make sure they know. We are always looking for fellow enthusiasts and free thinkers, who are searching for like minded individuals to challenge and expand their world and perception. We also offer aid to anyone who needs it and feels they have no where else to turn. We even plan on getting involved in the business sector and, if possible, the sporting sector. Our History Our history is a long and twisted story still being written today. It is a collection from our original members, who began it all, to our newest members, who help shape our present, and write our future. To fully understand FNF MC and why we are the way we are, you must first understand where we started, where our father's started, and where our grand father's started. We must start in 1948 with Original Red Devils MC. Chapter 1: The Origins Chapter 2: Dogs And War How To Join Like mentioned above, joining this motorcycle club is no easy task. We have severe trust issues, and it does take a long time for FNF to fully trust anyone. We are not, what we call, a "Hand Out Club", which will give out patched positions, instead we believe you must earn your place here. Becoming part of the club requires members to not only probate for us, but to first hang around with the club so we can get to know you, and for you to get to know us. This process can take time, but proves to us who wants to truly be part of this club, and who would just like to say they are. Dedication and loyalty are just some of the qualities that can help you through this process, but this process is different for everyone. We believe in the motto; "You Get What You Give" and only give the patch to those who have earned the right to call themselves a member of Feared N Fearless MC. Recruiting We are not currently recruiting for Identity at this time, we are only recruiting for our PS4 charter on GTA Online, as well as we are looking to expand to XB1, and PC. We even plan to open up a SAMP charter or 2. If you are interested in becoming part of Feared N Fearless in the future when Identity is released, please join our support crew to keep up to date with the club and our activities. I replied in the youtube video itself but i'll reiterate some other things. I think that an addition in the color customization is to add a Hex color code, for those that are looking for the right color. I'm not sure what other feedback I could give other than that from what the video has shown us, other than the movement in third person seemed weird to me. Otherwise, I enjoyed the update. Hoping to see more customization and great ideas to make this game one of a kind.

@Jinx The manufacturer business has already been confirmed. But also, we make these businesses on the forums for the enjoyment of it, not for its seriousness. Although I do want to be a manufacturer, I made Donaldson & Guns for fun. But you are right about needing more information from Asylum.

Or better yet, maybe just a TV news channel. I doubt players would put in the time to create a newspaper. Although I do want to see newspapers. It would really give the world an 'alive' feeling.

As restricting as it may be for some people, I am a firm believer in roleplay ingame strictly being through voip. Text based roleplay in a game like this creates unnecessary delay and can ruin immersion immensely.

Please keep language civil when expressing your opinions. 6. Advertise websites or services unrelated to Identity. We do not sell advertising space on the Identity forums. 7. Cross Post. Cross-posting makes it difficult for users using the search function to find relevant information, and may be considered spam. 8. Ask for Likes. Likes are given to those for contributing useful information in a discussion. 9. Abuse reports. Reporting content with blank or inaccurate report descriptions will hinder a moderator's capacity to help. Please report content that is in violation of the rules, and not simply because you personally dislike another user. 10. Engage rule violators. You may accidentally violate these rules yourself by responding to others that you feel aren’t following these guidelines. 11. Make low-effort posts. Contribute useful information to the discussion, and avoid going off-topic. 12. Discuss Politics/Religion. These subjects are sensitive and may offend others. (There is a small place for fantasy politics within Identity's ecosystem. The Governor position will be able to tweak small settings within the game world, and must compete against others for power. The political systems within Identity are simplified and do not accurately reflect the processes involved with political discourse in the real world. Players may implicitly take inspiration from existing candidates or parties, but must not show any connections to real world politics through the use of logos/symbols, names (of existing leaders, existing parties, or of those within recent history), or slogans. By affiliating your party with a real world political faction, you are bringing such politics into discussion and grabbing the attention of those who recognize it. Real world politics typically invoke a strong emotional response in some viewers and can lead to vehement conflicts extremely quickly.) 13. Create multiple accounts. Only one account per person is authorized, so forum users can be easily identified. Avoiding a ban may result in further permanent action. 14. Operate a shared account. Sharing an account with another user will make conversation difficult should any of the account operators share a difference in opinion. Conflicting statements will impede our ability to help assist any single user on a shared account. Due to this, we request that each account is operated by a single, separate user. 15. Create forum posts that mention specific users in the title. Creating a new topic with the title specifically mentioning another user isn’t conducive to group discussion, especially if the targeted user isn’t comfortable responding in an open format. (For example, don’t make posts like “@usernamehere, why is x and not y?”) If you’re asking a question directly to another user, please do so using the inbox function on the forums. 16. Post Personal Information, or post links containing personal information. Sharing information about others can be harmful to their real-life. 17. Use forum features in unintended ways. Asking for likes, or making a game that incorporates the like/follow buttons artificially inflates user forum stats, making it difficult for other users to determine which content or user is contributing popular content to the site. 18. Discuss Moderator or Administrator actions Publicly. There are often reasons why a decision is made by a moderator or administrator that may be unclear to outside-parties, and off-topic discussion about an admin or moderator decision may be disruptive to a conversation. We politely ask that you trust and respect decisions made by staff. If you have an issue with a specific staff member, please report the matter to a Community Manager. 19. Impersonate Asylum Entertainment Staff or Moderators. When users seek assistance from moderators or Asylum staff, they shouldn't need to worry about encountering the possibility of dealing with an impostor. Always heed the official titles for staff roles on both the forums and discord to help avoid confusion. 20. Intentionally Spread False Information. Spreading rumors you know are falsified and portraying them as fact will only complicate Identity's development and serves to derail the actual constructive criticism offered by other users. Even accidentally giving out false information can be dangerous, so please ask a staff member or reference official statements (Dev Blogs for example). 21. Post or link to illegal, dangerous, offensive or NSFW content. Do not engage in activities that include (but are not limited to) the sharing of sexually explicit content, piracy, malicious code execution (viruses, malware, spyware etc.), gore. Please keep posts pertaining to the M-rated content in Identity reasonable. 22. Create or operate an account with the intention of solely boosting or supporting another user's reputation, poll votes, or opinions. We ask that all users contribute to the forums in ways that don't simply perpetuate someone else's particular viewpoint or account statistics. ***Moderators and staff have the final say on all matters. If you would like to report moderator abuse, contact a Community Manager directly. Creating public threads or posts that question or reference administrative decisions or potential administrative decisions is not permitted.*** ***Freedom of speech rights do not extend to privately owned websites, such as this one.
