4 pointsHello citizens! It's been too long since our last developer blog entry, so I wanted to take the time today to update all of our backers on Identity's current state of development, as well as give a little more insight into the process behind the scenes. During the first year and a bit of development, most of the time was spent developing key backend systems. Networking modifications, weapon physics, character customization, voice communication and so on. That's all behind us now, and I'm happy to say it's gone as well as we could have hoped. Now and for the past couple of months we've moved on to gameplay development, making those backend features do the fun stuff. This Month in Development In this last month our lead character artist, Miroslav, has finished up everything we need for your characters going into the Town Square release. We're always going to be adding more character customizations over time, but to start you'll have the choice between 4 male and 5 female race options. After selecting your base race you can customize further with skin tones, blemishes, scars, eye color, hair styles, hair colors and tweaks to facial features. Identity is expanding on the usual character customization, though, as some of the options available can only be gotten through achievements. Prison tattoos are an example; if you see someone with such a tattoo you know they've done something to earn it. A lot of work this month has also gone into the player housing systems. In following our previous messages, our home customization system has been in place for some months although we've been expanding the floorplans in preperation for the Town Square module release. Sean, or Motown as you may know him, has prepared the various apartments you will have in the Town Square. If you have made a smaller pledge to Identity and do not have an apartment yet, we're going to be giving you access to a temporary (small) home in the Town Square so that you can play with the cusomization features. If you've pledged for a package containing an apartment, Town Square will show what you'll have in the full Identity game upon release. Just this morning our lead programmer, Henrik (AKA Mathalion), finished up the karaoke systems. It's a minor feature for Identity as a whole, but it's going to be loads of fun in the Town Square module! Just off the lobby of the hotel is a slick little bar, complete with a karaoke stage. You'll be able to queue up your favorite songs on the karaoke machine and see the lyrics on one of the monitors around the stage. The microphone on the stage really works, too, amplifying your voice out of the speakers so that your singing can be heard by everyone there! Most of us are terrible singers, so karaoke is going to have a lot of hilarious moments. If you're just there to watch, the restaurant by the stage is fully functional, too! It's Been Too Long I'll just come right out and say it: we at Asylum Entertainment have really had poor PR these last months, and you guys deserve better. You deserve much more frequent updates, and we're committing to give you that moving forward. We're a relatively small development team today. Currently a core staff of 5 incredibly talented full-time developers, I'm amazed every day with what this team can accomplish. Outside of our core we have a handful of part-time workers, mostly artists, who are also very skilled. Because we're a small team, many of us have to wear several hats. For example, Sean is our community manager but also a 3D artist. I myself am the project manager, a programmer and interface developer. This leads to few resources to dedicate towards PR as there's so much work to be done on the game itself. This is something we knew though, and we're going to set some time aside regularly to keep you in the loop. The Town Square module is coming soon. We're in the final months of 2016 now, and you'll finally be inside the first piece of the Identity world in the first quarter of 2017. It's a little later than we originally hoped since we're dedicated to making sure everything is smooth and stable from the first moments. Identity is an enormous undertaking, but the most difficult bits are behind us and we're drawing near! What to Expect The first stage of game development is always very boring to talk about, and also doesn't give us much to show you. Creating those backend systems that drive the game behind the scenes is one of the most important phases, but it's not very glamorous. It's for this reason that most games aren't announced until they're a couple years into development. Now that we're past that point, we're going to be able to start showing you real Identity gameplay. The first gameplay video you'll see is going to be in November and will show you just how detailed and in-depth Identity is becomming! You'll see a walkthrough of our housing system, showing just how far it can be customized and some of the cool fun features you'll find in there. Following that video we'll give you a glimpse of the Town Square features, leading up to its release. It's been a ton of work and a long time coming, but we're moving forward at a great pace and everything is about to get very exciting over here.

3 pointsToday we publish the first Identity Insider update, bringing you detailed information about key systems in Identity. Our website has expanded with a small page detailing corporations and their classes, also available below: Corporations in Identity You've made a lot of cash working odd jobs, or maybe even the odd less-than-legal task; now that you've had a taste of success, it's time to forge an empire. Corporations will allow the successful with a little extra cash to become driving forces in Identity's dynamic economy. Corporations are organizations similar to, but separate from, gangs and other social structures. They have the added ability of owning assets and issuing work orders to their real-player employees. Some assets, such as the largest cargo trucks, are available only to corporations. Once formed, the corporation is assigned a telephone number for public contact and the director (owner) can build a logo using an in-game design tool. It's then time to hire a staff and get to work. Classes of Corporations Delivery Delivery corporations can buy large vehicles for big hauls, vehicles not available to the general public. While any player can deliver goods in vehicles such as vans, to get the big-bucks you'll need to join a corporation. Legal Let's face it, crimes happen and criminals are going to be arrested. They'll need someone on the outside to convince the jury that they did nothing wrong. This is where legal corporations come into play, and their services aren't always cheap. Transportation People need to get from point A to point B and they don't always have the means to do that themselves. Transportation corporations own special vehicle assets including taxis and more, helping those in need get where they need to be. Manufacturing From the shoes on your feet to the sofa under your seat, almost everything in Identity is built and crafted by other players. Manufacturing corporations give their employees access to a wider variety of constructables and resources, for a cut of the profits. Always Expanding As with most things in Identity, we at Asylum will constantly be expanding this system adding new classes of corporations and building on those already available. Identity's release is only the beginning. If you have any ideas for a well-suited corporation class, let us know on the forums.

2 pointsHello reader, Before giving off my own ideas, I got inspiration off of @Herzog and his idea of a comic con. Please show him some love if you find this a good thing or just want to see this implemented. So, I have an idea that involved large scale events. I was thinking that there could be a feature where you can buy land, and then build on that land. People would be able to build a stage or make a large building that would include things like a Comic-Con or some big social gathering where a lot (and I mean a lot, hundreds, and maybe even thousands) of people will be able to go to that one place and be with people that share those interests on a large scale. For example, I am the manager of a band and I want to hold a concert. I would be able to buy off a piece of land and build a stage and sell tickets for the band. I know this is very ambitious but this could be a big part of the game that would help bring the community together. ~Dickbutt

2 pointsIs this the video we have needed to wait a year for,? the video that needed to be posted on absolutely last minute because to show off what? player housing that isnt even finished? this video is LITERALLY exactly the same as the trailer apart from a few very minor features which aren't even fantastic. When will we see something about the world, cars, clothes different houses fuck anything. I'ts almost as you guys are just trying to keep the game alive with so called 'progress' to get more people to pay money. huge dissappointment for me.

2 pointsAs long as there's a text chat it'll be viable, like in g mod a lotta people don't even use mic's and people are fine with it, but obviously it'll be more inconvenient to type in some situations, but it's not like people aren't going to read the chat if they're trying to communicate with someone.

2 points*Once Hanshi and Shenji are at their restaurant, the waiter as if they want the usual. Hanshi and Shenji shake their heads* "So, I got some word that some "Yakuzas" gave a garage some imports to work on. I got no word so I'm not sure if they are Yukines." [Awaiting reply from @ShenjiNagasaki]

2 points@JamesLuck01 Banned for having a whole plan for server before the game is even half way done.

2 pointsAt this time you cannot build custom structures on land. There is land for farming, as well as pre-existing homes and buildings which can be owned and operated, but we don't allow building permanent structures for performance reasons. When you want a lag-free experience with a lot of players, that's something that survival games suffer for. That said, if you want to put on a concert you can rent a concert hall. You'll get the option of choosing the theme for the event which will configure the art of the interior. The concert halls even have a stage which amplifies volume of instruments, as well as microphones for singing or speaking. You can use these for all sorts of things.

2 pointsI feel lonely and somewhat out of place here. Who's from Asylum!? Let's bring the two community's together!

1 pointCrusaders Division - Knights Needed Knights are the sworn guards of The Gentleman's Club and their assets. With a lot of wealth, members of The Gentleman's Club need protection from prodding criminals. Knights are selected based on their backgrounds and those with military or special forces backgrounds are more likely to be picked over a shoe shop owner. They are taken through rigorous training to ensure they are capable of protecting the club house of the club and its vault. More career opportunities will arise from within this rank such as a rank up to a more senior role and a well-earned pay rise. If the situation arises that a member of the club is targeted, the Knights will accept the role of a personal bodyguard for that member until the problem is eradicated. If you see yourself working as a guard for wealthy men in the future then look no further. Expect a solid salary and shifts that suit you. We hope to find people that have some experience with this role whether it be within other games such as arma or just via the knowledge you have IRL. We seek men who are well disciplined and trustworthy. If you would like to discuss applying for this role, please PM me and we can discuss it further, reviewing your characters background and attributes. Herzog Chairman of The Gentleman's Club

1 pointWill text chat still be relevant? I know it will be downplayed a little bit, but for people who are shy or don't really like using microphones is it still viable to use text chat for role-play situations and still be a member of a crime syndicate/gang/Police force? Text chat is also useful for players who role play characters of the opposite gender. Does anyone have any idea?

1 pointYou don't need to wait for anything. Leave the forums so us people who care about the game can enjoy the new footage.

1 pointThe video definitely hyped me up in the game again. I am hoping clothing has this kind of customization like the painting did. I'd love to make my own.
-
1 point@HairyGrenade @Herzog @LionKingGamer @LionroM @Kalebninja @Raffen The video should be out now!!!!!!!!!!!
-
1 pointThis is what i dont get. No one understand what they get themselves into when the pledge for early access to a game. The game is not made by EA, it doesnt get done in a few months. Good games take time. Get that into your head as im sick and tired of all these little children on the forums claiming how disappointed they will be if a bloody video doesnt come out. Grow a pair and be patient. Some of us here have been here from the start and so far the only complaining ive done is about the people complaining.
-
1 pointConsidering Auctions take place on the low end of what I'd call good role play servers like your standard GMOD and MC Bucket, I imagine there's quite a chance we will see something along those lines here.
-
1 pointI would love full G27 support so I can truck properly :3 including H shifter
-
1 pointThey said on twitter that the more a gun wears down, the higher chance it will have of jamming, the reason for that is they don't want people hoarding the same guns, they want them to be cycled out and having to keep on being made. Personally I like this idea because it will stop people hoarding every gun they get, if they use it, eventually it will be unreliable due to jamming.
-
1 pointOther than crafting, I loving flying in games. Besides a taxi, I hope there is the ability to transport longer range via heli or plane. Im sure either way you would be able to set this up, although larger vehicles should have greater costs. There was a mention of transportation jobs hsving access to specific vehicles. Great question.

1 point*After driving around for a few hours, Kevin decides to head back to the garage. He parks outside and heads inside* "Hey Brandon, figured you guys could use a extra set of hands" *Brandon climbs out from under the Toyota Supra GT-300 he was working on* "That would be appreciated, just this one left, so I sent everyone home, but it is putting up more of a fight than I would like to admit" *After finishing working on the car, Kevin checks his watch* "It's only like five thirty man, feel like showing me these other two cars" "Sure thing. We have a '99 Nissan Silva Spec-R Aero, a R34 Nissan Skyline GTR, and you are already familiar with the 'Yota Supra GT-300 overthere. I forgot to mention earlier, but that guy also commissioned a total rebuild on a Nissan 180SX" *The doorbell rings, Kevin goes to answer the door* "Shut off the music I will go see who it is" *Kevin walk opens the door and greets the two men standing there* "Evening gentlemen, come inside and get out of the cold"
-
1 point*Hanshi chuckles* "Of course brother. I want to look around and see some imports. NIssan 180sx? Why thank you furīdo (friend)." *The two walk up to the door to the shop. A warehouse with faint music playing in the background. He rings to doorbell and fixes his tie at the front office, the smell of the harbor reminds him of Japan back in the day* [Awaiting response and reply from @Dekan]
-
1 point*Henshi nods his head* "Let's do it, money.. No problem. I'll buy his fucking car from him. Back in the day in japan, before I started hanging out with the Yakuza kids, I was big in drifting. Although I was young, I loved to sit up at the mountains and just watch. We could get some kids who are into it to hang out at the meetings. Nothing crazy, to just chill and rep the Inagawai kai." *Hanshi throws a 100 dollar bill on the table, he notions to waiter and shakes his hand, the two walk out.*
-
1 point*The morning after the incident at the club, Kevin goes through his usual morning routine before heading down to where he parked his Raptor. Once in, he heads into the city, stopping at a plain looking garage. Kevin heads inside and sees several mechanics working on three JDM cars with loud music playing. One of the mechanics finish installing a custom bumper when he sees Kevin* "Shit, hey man, you should have let us know you were stopping by, we would of had some coffee or something for you" "I just wanted to make sure you guys were actually doing work" *Kevin replies jokingly with a smirk* "Whats up with all the Japanese imports in here today" "Some Yakuza looking motherfuckers came in here about a week ago looking to get some upgrades so they could 'move some stuff'. When I tried to tell them just how much it would cost, they just said money was no problem" "Well shit, did they want anything else done to the cars?" "No, and I thought that was odd until I got under the hood, these cars are already pretty fucking ballsy as is, which is nice, because these cars should be out of here tomorrow morning" "Alright, well I won't keep you much longer Brandon, see you around" "See ya" *Kevin gets back into his truck and begins driving around the city somewhat aimlessly*
-
1 point"ahhh, seems good. I do not take in what I hear, I focus on the bad. Something I cannot do anymore in life. Good job, we'll take care of em, and i'll for sure be their as you said." *Hanshi loosens his tie and yells- "Masani!" *The door swings open. The guard walks in, Hanshi motions to the ground.* "Yes, I get broom now." "Thank you Masani, after you can leave, go home to your wife and kids" *Masani (the guard) nods and smiles* "Thank you boss" [1 day later. Morning. Hanshis apartment in the city. He calls up his brother.] *The phone rings* (Awaiting answer from @ShenjiNagasaki)

1 pointHey @Buckets, So I personally wish to manufacturer weapons, just like you. I have done extensive research, and if you check my forum post at Donaldson & Guns, you will see all the weapons that have been confirmed. The Devs mentioned that weapon manufacturer is a game mechanic that will be implemented, but it will not be easy getting your hands on firearms. If you have any other questions, feel free to PM me and I will see if I can answer them. Thanks for tagging me in this @JamesLuck01 <3

1 pointLike every idealist ever born you can twist any fact to make a half truth, and yet you don't really have an answer for even the simplest of questions other than to spew more half truths & twisted analogy..........actually now I come to think about it you're the perfect politician lol. I'd go back to making pipe bombs in the basement if I were you.

1 pointPossibly something along the lines of what Lord of the Rings Online has, they have fully functioning bands that actually go on tour in the game. The system they use turns keys on your keyboard into different musical 'notes'.

1 pointI love this idea if they expanded on it. Id loved to be able to go buy a pack of ciggs and go smoke it. Maybe be able to buy foreign cigars, or even roll a blunt. Also being able to get some knives or make makeshift weapons in a similar creator to the art maker where its like Fallout 4 esqe, learning to get better and go from shives to 3-D printed guns.

1 pointI think having choices would be great too. Especially for deaf people and the hearing impaired. Of which I am. I know having a built in system that can translate what people are saying into text would be super useful and would give people using text something to reference in their reply
-
1 pointPersonally, I think it could be fun using voice, but it would be even better if we could use a voice that would make sense for the character, i.e. a voice changer, be it integrated or through a 3rd party application. Also, it's important to note, many people don't like talking/chatting in voice. Having ONLY voice as an option would really put off a lot of people. It's always better to have choices, rather than be pigeon-holed into anything.
-
1 pointThere will be more leather jackets and biker gear. The idea is to just cover every theme we can at first and expand from there. The artist responsible for the character sculpting/modeling is Miroslav Disanski (portfolio: http://disanski.com/)!

1 pointI'd like to see some sort of coffee shops implemented, I probably haven't looked around well even but i doubt there is something like that around. I'd really like to own a coffee shop or work in one.
-
1 pointI want this! I want to open a small coffee shop too! I think it would be a lot of fun to have it, aspecially if people would want to visit it and since we can completely customize our homes, I think we should be able to completely customize our shops... It would be super fun if we could archieve that "Small town Coffee shop" feel!

1 pointIdentity Forum Guidelines Last Edit: July 9th, 2018 Participation in the Official Identity forums constitutes agreement to the following guidelines, which apply to posts, profile information, avatars, signatures, private messaging, and any other content on this site and participation in general. The live nature of discussions in this community makes it difficult for staff to catch every violation of these rules. If you believe that someone has violated our User Guidelines, please send a private message to a member of our volunteer moderation team or staff with a link to the content and a brief description of what you believe is wrong. Please do not respond to a violation personally, as you may aggravate the situation and possibly violate our guidelines yourself. Any content that violates our User Guidelines will be removed. Interpretation of our guidelines is at the discretion of the staff. Please do 1. Report violations of the forum rules. Moderators will quickly review reports and make decisions based on the information you provide. 2. Respect others. Showing respect will encourage others to participate in discussion. 3. Like posts, that you feel contribute useful information to a discussion. 4. Read the rules, so that you do not accidentally receive an infraction or ban. 5. Be constructive. Help others by answering questions, and offer feedback to their ideas. 6. Read before posting. Fully Comprehend the topic of discussion and determine what has already been discussed. 7. Use proper grammar and spelling. Read your post before submitting. Spelling mistakes may attract attention away from the discussion. 8. Search for content related to your questions. There’s a good chance that there may already be an answer to what you are looking for! Please don’t 1. Troll. Trolling does not contribute to meaningful discussion. 2. Spam. Spamming clutters the forum and makes it difficult to find original content. 3. Flame, or attack others. Insults do not contribute to discussion, and will be removed. 4. Repost Deleted Content. Content that was deleted was removed for a reason, even if the reason is unclear. 5. Demonstrate or perpetuate toxic behavior. A user is considered toxic if they repeatedly make defamatory, threatening, insulting, or otherwise hateful remarks toward other users or staff. Please keep language civil when expressing your opinions. 6. Advertise websites or services unrelated to Identity. We do not sell advertising space on the Identity forums. 7. Cross Post. Cross-posting makes it difficult for users using the search function to find relevant information, and may be considered spam. 8. Ask for Likes. Likes are given to those for contributing useful information in a discussion. 9. Abuse reports. Reporting content with blank or inaccurate report descriptions will hinder a moderator's capacity to help. Please report content that is in violation of the rules, and not simply because you personally dislike another user. 10. Engage rule violators. You may accidentally violate these rules yourself by responding to others that you feel aren’t following these guidelines. 11. Make low-effort posts. Contribute useful information to the discussion, and avoid going off-topic. 12. Discuss Politics/Religion. These subjects are sensitive and may offend others. (There is a small place for fantasy politics within Identity's ecosystem. The Governor position will be able to tweak small settings within the game world, and must compete against others for power. The political systems within Identity are simplified and do not accurately reflect the processes involved with political discourse in the real world. Players may implicitly take inspiration from existing candidates or parties, but must not show any connections to real world politics through the use of logos/symbols, names (of existing leaders, existing parties, or of those within recent history), or slogans. By affiliating your party with a real world political faction, you are bringing such politics into discussion and grabbing the attention of those who recognize it. Real world politics typically invoke a strong emotional response in some viewers and can lead to vehement conflicts extremely quickly.) 13. Create multiple accounts. Only one account per person is authorized, so forum users can be easily identified. Avoiding a ban may result in further permanent action. 14. Operate a shared account. Sharing an account with another user will make conversation difficult should any of the account operators share a difference in opinion. Conflicting statements will impede our ability to help assist any single user on a shared account. Due to this, we request that each account is operated by a single, separate user. 15. Create forum posts that mention specific users in the title. Creating a new topic with the title specifically mentioning another user isn’t conducive to group discussion, especially if the targeted user isn’t comfortable responding in an open format. (For example, don’t make posts like “@usernamehere, why is x and not y?”) If you’re asking a question directly to another user, please do so using the inbox function on the forums. 16. Post Personal Information, or post links containing personal information. Sharing information about others can be harmful to their real-life. 17. Use forum features in unintended ways. Asking for likes, or making a game that incorporates the like/follow buttons artificially inflates user forum stats, making it difficult for other users to determine which content or user is contributing popular content to the site. 18. Discuss Moderator or Administrator actions Publicly. There are often reasons why a decision is made by a moderator or administrator that may be unclear to outside-parties, and off-topic discussion about an admin or moderator decision may be disruptive to a conversation. We politely ask that you trust and respect decisions made by staff. If you have an issue with a specific staff member, please report the matter to a Community Manager. 19. Impersonate Asylum Entertainment Staff or Moderators. When users seek assistance from moderators or Asylum staff, they shouldn't need to worry about encountering the possibility of dealing with an impostor. Always heed the official titles for staff roles on both the forums and discord to help avoid confusion. 20. Intentionally Spread False Information. Spreading rumors you know are falsified and portraying them as fact will only complicate Identity's development and serves to derail the actual constructive criticism offered by other users. Even accidentally giving out false information can be dangerous, so please ask a staff member or reference official statements (Dev Blogs for example). 21. Post or link to illegal, dangerous, offensive or NSFW content. Do not engage in activities that include (but are not limited to) the sharing of sexually explicit content, piracy, malicious code execution (viruses, malware, spyware etc.), gore. Please keep posts pertaining to the M-rated content in Identity reasonable. 22. Create or operate an account with the intention of solely boosting or supporting another user's reputation, poll votes, or opinions. We ask that all users contribute to the forums in ways that don't simply perpetuate someone else's particular viewpoint or account statistics. ***Moderators and staff have the final say on all matters. If you would like to report moderator abuse, contact a Community Manager directly. Creating public threads or posts that question or reference administrative decisions or potential administrative decisions is not permitted.*** ***Freedom of speech rights do not extend to privately owned websites, such as this one. These guidelines detail the types of behavior and activities that are allowed here.*** ***We reserve the right to deactivate any account and to edit or remove any content without warning. These guidelines are subject to change at any time without notice.*** ***If you have a question or suggestion about our User Guidelines, please do not hesitate to contact a moderator or admin and we will be glad to help in any way that we can.*** 3bdullah alzmeeeleee 6ree8 jbbbh #7mod mf95
