Ya, i would imagine cops from one jurstiction would often slightly dip into other juristictions. However, once a chase gets really far, perhaps into the next city, then it would probably be transferred. I would imagine the Roseport police station would be huge and probably contain large amounts of holding cells, offices(including those for detectives and special investigators), a training area, a huge garage, and it would also likely function as the headquarters for the SWAT.

I'm going to fly in the face of convention & actually agree with some of your original post. When we open our server (that's if Identity ever actually gets off the ground) most people will be starting at basement level. There are obvious exceptions, first response services etc will need predesignated leaders right from the word go for example, but crime gangs etc, nope. A forum signature will not make you 'the best', you are going to have to get in world and both prove and earn that claim. While it never hurts to plan ahead, claims on a forum about biggest and best don't mean a thing until the game actually starts.

From the Kickstarter: "Should we meet our goal here on Kickstarter, we'll have everything we need to ensure that Identity gets completed." "Identity is going to cost a lot more than $150,000 to produce; our Kickstarter campaign is a proof-of-concept to several investors and with its success we'll have the funding we need." As stated they were going for a proof of market for the funding drive. Many Campaigns do this (not really the vast majority but a good amount), but there is always a clear expectation that should the funding goals be met, its full steam ahead. As I stated way up in this thread, I am good-to-go on throwing them some money if the gameplay is good (show me ANYTHING), internal issues are their own business as long as things are getting done. You also don't tell people those issues. They could also take 5 years for all I cared, as long as they kept showing some work regularly. But if the excuse is, "oh, got more important things to do for the moment," the signal is just bad. Especially on top of not having seen anything but some more concept work for months. Also on a side note. I came here due to TwitchRP community, we are doing No Pixel at the moment (sorta), a Arma Life mod. The mention from a big streamer got me my partner looking into it.... that mention was not actually positive though, due mostly to nothing happening with Identity for so long. And then on no less than 6 other occasions different streamers have dropped a mention, said it "looked" like it'll be great but it's "probably not happening, too bad". These are the people that you want to be excited and name dropping (without reservation) while they play the thing that Identity is trying to be better than. At least tell them its all going fine, so they haven't forgotten about it.

Problem is James, you're not helping. Posting your F.A.Q every time someone ends a sentence with a question mark......not helpful. Leaping to Asylums defence each and every time someone dares to be critical, telling people to leave and go away....not helpful. Like the OP, many people who have already invested have got genuine concerns about the lack of information coming from Asylum concerning this game. Point of fact: The graph for the Town Hall module has been at 66% for months.....DESPITE the fact that, as we now know, they decided to re-build it from the ground up. Not one word was posted about that set-back, no information was forthcoming, not one word. That, my friend, is very poor communication. Another point, you need to stop ramming this ''they have two jobs'' excuse down our throats. We understand they have a small team, we understand they are an Indie company, but so small that nobody can bother with a monthly update? That excuse has, by now, worn too thin I'm afraid. I want, desperately, to support this production, I really do. But during all these weeks of uproar on these forums they've not even had the good grace to offer up much of anything at all, and this has turned out to be a very one sided love affair. Personally I started with the $30 option, as did my wife, but we have friends who invested well over $100 in Identity. We had plans, as a group, to open a server here & I was the one designated to keep watch on progress, but nobody even asks about it anymore, they've all pretty much written off their investments. Point is, if they have, then so have other people, and if that's so, then the ONE reason for that is Asylums dreadful public relations. People want to hear from ASYLUM James, not you, not moderators, the Devs. They want updates, the amount of posts on the subject proves that. A monthly update is not too much to ask, no matter how small the team is.

Obviously, police work (and Identity by and large,) takes all kinds. So I'm curious--who here's coming from another mod/community where they did law enforcement? What were your experiences? Personally, I'm coming from Arma 3's A3L--I was a patrol cop there for a very long time, but I ultimately went my own way due to some differences of opinion with the department leadership and the direction the force was going. Even still, I spent hundreds of hours on patrol there, and I basically did it all--high speed pursuits, bank robberies, backing up SWAT as they executed search warrants, you name it. It taught me a lot about police work and I learned a lot about people. Hopefully, when Identity gets going, I'll be able to take that experience to the streets.

But RPing robbery wouldn't be nearly as thrilling to do. It would be like "yes you can rob me just let me invite you, but you can only take the armchair!". There is no fun in that, you don't get that sweet feeling of doing something that is not allowed. And I'd love if the warehouses are able to be robbed aswell.

I would imagine there would be several stations dotted around the map. Such as one in both the town and the city. Possibly one seat station or swat may be integrated with the city police and then sheriff offices in the rural areas as Frank said. Also not sure if it's been confirmed to be added but also ranger stations in the forests. It'll most likely be as it is in real life as that is what the want the game to be like so well most likely see different stations having different jurastiction over certain areas and depending on how good your RP is as a cop you may have to pass on info to other forces if they enter their jurastiction but I doubt anyone will follow that

Ya plus I wonder if there is going to be a sheriff's office that is based in a small town and covers most of the rural territory between the cities.

Hello and Welcome to the Identity community! Great to have you join us here in the wait and please use the FAQ and search bar to find answers that you need. If you need to just quote me and I will reply to your questions. 2 FAQ links in my signature at the bottom of all my posts, so please read them both and then search if there is a question not answered there already.

Yes perfect. Your 100% spot on. All this "help" from people/ fans / backers / investors what you ever want to call yourself, is not doing much for me either. These guys who are making the game should give us a update every week or month, yes they are a small team. But they must find a schedule to make some time to update us. Answering a rondom question on twitter or facebook is also helpful but not for the large scale of people who are hoping for some information.

The Day this game comes to consoles is the day pigs fly, i mean pc ports to console have lately been horrible consoles just cant run modern pc games, i mean apb reloaded is on xbox one and its like extra low graphics and runs at around 15 fps, same with 7 days to die and subnautica, i think the only good port was elite dangerous which was heavy optimized to play on console.

Well actually this game is inspired by the Altis life mod on Arma 3 and gmod PERP but like you say it is bits of everything and not focused on cops and robbers but is the RP aspect. Socialising, interacting with others, meeting new people, having a laugh because of someones terrible singing in kareoke.

This is why I love this community so much. We try to make this game more realistic by finding ways to not kill people. Keep posting stuff like this please @Zulnex. <3

I can understand what you are saying, but if it costs that little for a gun, then everyone would have one. And that's something the devs do not want. As my character, Andrew Donaldson, is a weapons manufacturer, I have researched a lot about this topic; the devs don't want guns to be easily accessible to the players, otherwise it will turn into GTA. Depending on your job/career, someone could make make that money ($250) in a day, easily. So yes, weapons should be at a reasonable price. But if they are too low, then everyone will have a pistol up their sleeve and have the ability to start a mass shooting. I do hope the developers get this right.

Yeah so what? Everyone is aware the game could fall short or long of their expectations and will have to adapt to them accordingly, nobody has a solid mindset that what they come up with now is exactly what is going to be upon release. Loosen up a bit dude gawd

Look up the definition of "investment" you ignorant kid. Quit being stubborn.
  19. 1 point
Listen. You don't have to get money in return for it to be an investment. I can be an investor if I put time into a relationship to watch it grow. Or watch my child grow. If you put money in a game your investment is the game itself. Investors fund things for something in return. This community invested 180,000$ into this game. Therefore are investors.

Lol I've never said to stop using your imaginations. In fact I also have one, we are all humans, full of imaginations and emoticons. I just said that some people are very in debt, really deep, with theirs and when the game comes out they are going to get mad because more than half of the things that some people are expecting is just not going to hapend...

I get where you are going with this and some features (e.g. private server owners controlling if able to rob houses or not) is a good idea but I know a world editor tool you are asking for would probably be hard to and time consuming. (nevertheless I think a lot of people would like it) but it would not be possible before release of the full game. However the AI suggestion would not happen as well its a player driven game (not saying it is not a cool idea), but just won't happen. On the other hand I would not expect there to be any tools such as what you suggested (world editor or AI spawner thing).

Seems to me that if they are going to have some great Beach Resort spots they'll have some fun water related activities. Subs would be fantastic.

Ya, but I wasn't around to see what impact that had. However, once a guy like that starts playing one of the modules and shows it, it will bring alot of traffic.

I kind of understand what he means. If you look at the forums there are some pretty wild suggestions, & a lot of them are simply not going to be possible. Given that we know so little about the actual game, that's not really surprising however, peoples imaginations will run riot.

Like @Kickapoo said, you are just stating we shouldn't talk about the game on the forum and then there is no more forum usage as a result if we didn't do this. You need to think before you speak as, the forums barely get new people registering/ new comers don't always make there introduction and then there is nothing to talk about because all the ideas and suggestions have pretty much been discussed by all the active members. We are keeping the community alive while waiting for the game to release and that is done by us talking about what we look forward too, what we are going to do and how we are going to do that.

Wow, really? I've seen quite a few of your posts about ''roleplay'' & how this game is going to be all about that, as someone pointed out to you in another thread, that's not true. It'll depend on what kind of server you play on. You call yourself a 'hardcore' roleplayer and yet, via a forum outside of the game world, you've already established yourself as the Don of a mafia family AND a member of a crime commission, word to the wise here Johnny......'hardcore' would be spawning into Identity with just the clothes on your back & then actually trying to establish yourself as a mobster, forming a family, and actually working your way to the top, not by telling everyone on a forum that you're a Mafia Don and you deserve respect. Or should we all play by your rules?.....hmmm, okay then............ So my char' is going to be the Attorney General,, and after and intensive investigation spanning ten years I know all about your Crime Commission & my office has got you all on RICO charges.....starting to see how this DOESN'T work yet Johnny? See Johnny, in roleplay GAMES it's always been the tradition that the char' you choose starts at the bottom (okay so you're a level 1 wizard with 2 spells) and earn your way to greatness by actually taking part in the game......which is why we'll all be starting at the bottom in Identity (well not you obviously). You're not roleplaying, you're metagaming....... Metagaming is any strategy, action or method used in a game which transcends a prescribed ruleset, uses external factors to affect the game, or goes beyond the supposed limits or environment set by the game. Another definition refers to the game universe outside of the game itself. In simple terms, it is the use of out-of-game information or resources to affect one's in-game decisions. ...........you don't speak for me Johnny, & you don't speak for Asylum, so before telling anyone else not to buy this game, and quoting rules at them, how about you find out what the rules actually ARE.
