2 pointsDEV BLOG #001 Greetings Citizens, It has been just over a year since you helped successfully kick start Identity into existence! We want to thank you all for your continued support by providing you all with regular updates following the development process for Identity. Engaging with our community is one of the best ways we can show our thanks, and a development blog is a perfect opportunity for us to bring you along for the ride. As you’ve seen throughout the past year, there is no game out there that is quite like Identity, and through your support, you have proven to us that Identity is a vision worth turning into a reality! Feedback has shown us that you all really appreciate our attempts to respond to virtually every question we receive on social media. Twitter and Facebook have been a huge boost in exposure for Identity, and so it is time we begin to explore other avenues of exposure to help our community understand a bit more about the game. In the coming months, our fans will see their first glimpse of gameplay for Identity! We are all extremely excited to show off our first gameplay video, which will fully explore the mechanics of apartment and housing customization. With this video, you will see that we have stayed true to our original art direction from the original Kickstarter trailer, while maintaining high standards in realistic lighting and graphics. We can safely say that we have improved many of the areas of our design that needed attention since February last year. Apartment & Housing Customization Apartments and houses within Identity will have a fully customizable interior. You will be able to change the wall paper on every wall in every room, place furniture anywhere there is space on the ground, swap out doors, windows, baseboards, crown moulding, and even wainscoting! We have made no compromise to the level of detail in which you can customize your apartments or homes, in order to truly express your sense of home decor. With this level of control, there is virtually no chance that the interior of two homes will ever look alike. There will be hundreds of furniture items available to purchase in-game in every style and design, from traditional to contemporary. Furniture in Identity can even be crafted, sold, or traded to other players, and those who wish to try their hand at crafting hand-made furniture from a variety of materials can place a crafting table anywhere they wish inside their homes! And if you wish to share your space with a partner, friend, or even a group of friends, homes and apartments will be available for sale throughout the world that support multiple roommates depending the size of the space and how many bedrooms are available. The home-owner may even grant build permissions to any number of roommates, even visitors, to help them decorate their living space. When you are finished, invite your friends over to compliment you on your interior decorating skills! If you’re anything like us, we know you will spend more time cleaning up this virtual home than you do your real one! Radio This week, our team has also placed a lot of our development efforts into building a functioning radio system that will allow you to listen to your favorite real-world radio stations through placed radio objects inside your virtual home, or car! Yes, you can flip through the channels in your car radio, which will also broadcast to the immediate area outside your car. Imagine driving down the street and having everyone you pass know you listen to NSYNC! One other major part of this feature that we are excited to tell you about is player operated talk-shows which you can personally host, or tune-in and listen to, from your car radio or home. The way we currently have this planned out for hosts, is to have actual physical broadcast stations on the map that you can enter as a player and begin hosting your own radio talk-show. Player’s listening from their car or home can browse a list of channels currently being hosted at that very moment, and listen to you live, talking about government conspiracies and UFO’s! We are really hoping that this feature will have a major social impact for Identity. Like you, we see a lot of potential in something like this for budding stars within the community. We would absolutely love to see many of you sprout a career that started in a game we developed, and ended with us listening to your lovely voice on our actual car radio! The Town Square (Social Module) Many of you already know of, and are eagerly anticipating the release of the planned “Town Square” module that is currently still in production. While we can’t give you an exact date on when that will be ready, progress is steady, and we are as excited as you are to meet you all for the first time in a virtual environment. You may already be aware that Identity is largely influenced by a landmass in the south-eastern portion of the United States. The Town Square itself is only a small portion of a larger city built into the final version of Identity called Ash Hill, a reference to Asheville, North Carolina where we had originally planned to move Asylum’s office. We picked this area of the world particularly because it offered a wide range of geographical variance. The transition between Identity’s mix of biomes needed to feel natural, and this area offered most of what we had been looking for. As for the other cities in Identity, their influences may become more clear to you now. Myrtle Beach is obviously Turtle Beach in Identity, and Roseport is less subtle, but a mix between Atlanta and New York City. When we first started, we kept everything, including the structures and world props level to the ground, a mistake we have since corrected. We quickly realized that cities are rarely ever flat, and knew that setting that precedent now would benefit Identity in the future. The next time you see The Town Square module, we are confident that you will notice the difference compared to earlier screenshots, what such a small transformation makes for immersion in a game environment. Moving Forward We want to thank our community for being so patient with us. Over the course of the past year, we’ve seen many work-in-progress screenshots of assets destined for Identity, and while we believe they serve as a sample of the work we have already put into the game, we know that many of you are still anxious to see video. Our current priority is to get things ready to show off, or more specifically, the housing/apartment customization first. We are convinced that many of you will appreciate the time and effort we have put into this feature, so that you will be able to fully express yourself through your character and virtual home. We know we’ve been pretty quiet this past year, and the criticism we’ve heard from our fans on that through social media and the forums have not fallen on deaf ears! We will start to release regular updates through development blogs and continue to find new ways to interact with our community, to show you our gratitude for your support. You yourself can become more involved by contributing to the discussion with your ideas at www.identityrpg.com/community. We’ll see you there, and thank you again! Always remember that we are gamers too and we are as excited as you are to play Identity at launch!

2 pointsI only ask for a few things to make my game experience the best it can be. First off. As a crazy alien theorist, id like to see a tin foil hat wearable for my character like so. Next and a more possible suggestion is id like to see the VW camper in the game. Theres nothing like traveling the open road and spreading the love...and smoking a bit of kush while youre at it. Thank you, and i hope to see these in game

2 pointsYour buddy here is being TOTALLY sarcastic. You think you can justify every retarded post you make by claiming its "sarcasm"?
-
2 pointsYou changed your point from me being a fucking no life - monitoring the forums, to a bully. I obviously realize he wasn't directly talking to me, however his post was relevant to me, and I had every right to feel disrespected by that post.

1 pointThe Rock 106.9 WCCC The Rock WCCC is a real life radio station in Connecticut USA. Just about three years ago they have turned down their love for rock and roll and heavy metal, and went for more subtle jesus music. But in Identity, DJ Bobby Vee and his long time best pal DJ Roswell are here to bring you your favorite music from all decades. Classic rock, heavy metal, swing and blues are just the tip of the iceburg of what we will be playing! Every Saturday we will host a radio show all about UFO's. We will talk about recent sightings, have guests on as well as have guest callers. We will also just banter around about aliens, what we did today, and ways to stay safe when the saucer flies overhead. The Rock 106.9 is extremely dedicated to bring you the Flip side of the album playing songs that are never on the radio (In real life) Here is a huge list of bands we will most likely play; Rush, ELO, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Aerosmith, The Rolling Stones, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, The Clash, Ramones, The Beatles, The Who, Creedance Clearwater, Cream, Gratefull Dead, Elvis, Bill Haley and his comets, Dion and the belmonts, The Teenagers, The Crew Cuts, The Everly Brothers and Buddy Holly. These bands are probably 1/10 of what we play. We will also air genres like punk, grunge and alternative. Thanks for reading and please comment! Bobby Vee The Rock 106.9 WCCC

1 pointAnd I get super heated about cultural stuff... I live in Chicago where we're kinda plagued by cultures fighting with others and each other... so living it everyday and seeing how it ends up in tragedy a lot of the time really gets me passionate. I'm glad we can have civil debates here though.
-
1 pointI already messaged @Clickerita with a pm apologising and explaining how I get carried away with the differences.
-
1 pointAlso, not saying yours wasn't first. But American football was created well over 200 years ago. Like Clickerita said, don't bash on our culture because we don't do it to you. We like our tea cold. We have our football. We call tv shows seasons. Although we're completely different in some cases we're all the same. ??

1 pointI never said you were wrong about it being an "English" sport before we re-named it, did I? Attacking what we call sports in America would be like me attacking how the English call Cigarettes, "fags" etc... It's silly and inconsiderate to push aside our American culture and way of saying things. Right or wrong in your mind doesn't matter here. What matters is that you understand that people have the freedom/SHOULD have the freedom here to call things as they are in their relative culture, and just because the English have a different name for Soccer doesn't make it okay/right to jump down our throats about calling it the name we've all grown up with, in our own country. Tomatoes/Tomatoes... Still the same thing. I usually don't like getting in to stuff like this but asserting that someone is wrong based on cultural terms is rude imo. This is a forum where people of different nationalities will inevitably get together. Don't you want everyone to feel welcome? It seems that you do, based on all your helpful posts.

1 pointUnfortunately, there probably won't be a little Italy. Identity's design is primarily focused on contemporary modern life surrounding gangs, drug, and law enforcement culture. While these things do exist in modern life in many cities around the country and world, they don't necessarily fit the design direction we are aiming for. There will be more than one casino in Identity, and it is very likely that at least one will be found in Turtle Beach
-
1 pointI can shed some light on this subject! There are three major cities in Identity's map, which consists of an island landmass of approximately 225 square kilometers, including a few smaller islands scattered around the coast. The terrain is roughly based on the South Eastern region of the United States, centered on the Carolina's where we were originally going to move our development office. We chose this area for it unique cultural and biome diversity. It's also important to know that the concept art image of the proposed island is simply an early proposal of the land mass. While the general shape of the island will remain close, it does not represent the current design our layout of the current map. The first and largest city, Roseport, is heavily influenced by a mix of Atlanta, GA, and NYC, NY. Atlanta is a great city but didn't quite fit the architecture design and building density we were aiming for, so we splashed a bit of New York City into the mix despite it being a bit further north than our focus range. Roseport is a hive for shady businesses and gangs operating out of low and middle income suburbs surrounding the busy downtown area. We suspect that this will be the place that most players in Identity call home. The second city, Ash Hill is a mountain town that is architecturally inspired by Asheville, NC. It sits perched up in Identity's western mountain range just below the frost line and is considered to be the wealthiest and cleanest living area in Identity. The Town Square module that most of you have seen by now and are eagerly awaiting is a small cutout of what Ash Hill will eventually become in Identity. Finally, the third major city, Turtle Beach is a more tropical waterfront city based on the real world's Myrtle Beach, GA, and is located south east on Identity's map. It is a great place to live for residents of Identity most interested in fishing and seafaring activities. I hope this answers some of your questions about these places!

1 pointThe owner of the topic has no such permissions to delete comments, the only mod as far as I know who is monitoring the forums is HairyGrenade, it'll likely be him you're after if you have an issue.
-
1 pointI like this idea - Maybe there could be a crime activity to non-crime activity ratio. So, not just cops get paid more but the average joe delivering pizzas would get paid more as well for doing legal money making activities. It would be a way to balance out community activities.

1 pointYes it does, I'm your father, I made you with your mother, if it weren't for me, you wouldn't be here.

1 point@DJ_ROSWELL I love your avatar of Charlie Frost. There has to be pickles to eat creepingly in the woods.

1 pointI'm not too sure about the athletic careers but as of now, they haven't said anything about it (only sports to play as fun). If you really want to do them they can always be roleplayed, but that will also require people wanting to pay for tournaments etc. About the ability to create custom landscapes, I doubt they will add any kind of map editor because of all the things they have to get done first (even tho I would love one). The AI in the game will be very limited and will only be in certain shops. The only people you will see cruising the streets are players, which is a good thing imo. The servers being different countries seems possible but there is no need for it since different parties and presidents will be able to choose the laws of the server, and I doubt you will be able to switch server with all your earnings/things. And I would love to see Steroids in the game.

1 pointIn my personal opinion EMT/Paramedic and Firefighting should be combined as it is in real life, giving the people playing as this roll to be more active rather than wait for something specific to happen and so it doesn't burn out the role so-to-speak. A fire every 5 minutes can get old, combining EMT/Paramedic and Firefighting will keep it more fresh.

1 point"How do we even tell how long we've been here?" Moira stands and moves to a wall mirror behind the couch. She notices her hair is flatter than usual, and there's an oily sheen to it. She turns to the rest, "I did my hair right before I left home... my hair now looks...two days old?" She turns around to the stark naked body of a balding man, moving with meaning towards the window. "Surely he isn't..." The man hops out the window. Moira looks from face to face. "Well, that just happened." Without a second thought she goes to the window and slams it shut.
-
1 point"You two are a couple of regular Einstein's aren't ya?" Max says while kneeling down. Max looks around the body and doesn't see any type of wounds. "Here's the thing, this body has been here for probably days. Considering its rotting, it takes a while for bodies to decompose. So either we've been here for longer than we thought or she was dead when we got here."

1 pointJason double takes Roswell. Curious about his smile he takes out a note pad and starts writing. He draws a stick figure and a ship. Hinting that Roswell paid aliens to kidnap him and give him mind reading technology. "I wanna know what happened to her man. She just died?"
-
1 point*His facial expression suddenly changes to a surprised expression* "Are you like...reading my mind...." *He slowly puts on a tin foil hat over a multicoloured hippie bandanna around his head* *He grabs a small tape recorder from his pocket and turns away from Jason to whisper into it* "Journal 41....Jason...i think they got him..." He whispers before putting it back into his pocket and smiling back at Jason.
-
1 pointJason shoots up and turns around pointing at Roswell. "That's what I was thinking man!"
-
1 pointMhm. Keep making excuses. Good thing this time you came up with something better than "sarcasm".
-
1 pointSeriously though why does this have to happen. Everyone just calm down man. So someone said something that you didnt like, you dont need to start getting mad and saying how hard you are going to fuck their mother. Just lets all chill about this. Im amazed this thread is still going without it being deleted by an admin. Why cant people just be friends. Its just a game after all. Yes Frank was right that if this was real life it may have ended differently but it isnt. Lets just all chill guys.

1 pointThere will likely be a good deal of criminals in identity, but by looking through the forums it seems to me that there is also a sizeable amount of people that don't really want a part in that and want to do other things like being an entrepreneur or trucker or things like that. There was also a poll once on the twitter page about what people wanted to do in identity and the three categories were criminal, civilian and law enforcement. The results were 30 something percent for criminal 30 something percent for civilian and about 25 percent for law enforcement, so judging by that it looks like there will be a nice balance!

1 pointBeen waiting for this game for a looong time, since it came out on Kickstarter. I am absolutely stoked to finally see this game come out after around 2 years of waiting! My name is Josh (cannot believe I got the forum name lol), and I reside in Massachusetts. i can't wait to meet people from everyone around the world. This is going to be awesome.
