1 pointDEV BLOG #001 Greetings Citizens, It has been just over a year since you helped successfully kick start Identity into existence! We want to thank you all for your continued support by providing you all with regular updates following the development process for Identity. Engaging with our community is one of the best ways we can show our thanks, and a development blog is a perfect opportunity for us to bring you along for the ride. As you’ve seen throughout the past year, there is no game out there that is quite like Identity, and through your support, you have proven to us that Identity is a vision worth turning into a reality! Feedback has shown us that you all really appreciate our attempts to respond to virtually every question we receive on social media. Twitter and Facebook have been a huge boost in exposure for Identity, and so it is time we begin to explore other avenues of exposure to help our community understand a bit more about the game. In the coming months, our fans will see their first glimpse of gameplay for Identity! We are all extremely excited to show off our first gameplay video, which will fully explore the mechanics of apartment and housing customization. With this video, you will see that we have stayed true to our original art direction from the original Kickstarter trailer, while maintaining high standards in realistic lighting and graphics. We can safely say that we have improved many of the areas of our design that needed attention since February last year. Apartment & Housing Customization Apartments and houses within Identity will have a fully customizable interior. You will be able to change the wall paper on every wall in every room, place furniture anywhere there is space on the ground, swap out doors, windows, baseboards, crown moulding, and even wainscoting! We have made no compromise to the level of detail in which you can customize your apartments or homes, in order to truly express your sense of home decor. With this level of control, there is virtually no chance that the interior of two homes will ever look alike. There will be hundreds of furniture items available to purchase in-game in every style and design, from traditional to contemporary. Furniture in Identity can even be crafted, sold, or traded to other players, and those who wish to try their hand at crafting hand-made furniture from a variety of materials can place a crafting table anywhere they wish inside their homes! And if you wish to share your space with a partner, friend, or even a group of friends, homes and apartments will be available for sale throughout the world that support multiple roommates depending the size of the space and how many bedrooms are available. The home-owner may even grant build permissions to any number of roommates, even visitors, to help them decorate their living space. When you are finished, invite your friends over to compliment you on your interior decorating skills! If you’re anything like us, we know you will spend more time cleaning up this virtual home than you do your real one! Radio This week, our team has also placed a lot of our development efforts into building a functioning radio system that will allow you to listen to your favorite real-world radio stations through placed radio objects inside your virtual home, or car! Yes, you can flip through the channels in your car radio, which will also broadcast to the immediate area outside your car. Imagine driving down the street and having everyone you pass know you listen to NSYNC! One other major part of this feature that we are excited to tell you about is player operated talk-shows which you can personally host, or tune-in and listen to, from your car radio or home. The way we currently have this planned out for hosts, is to have actual physical broadcast stations on the map that you can enter as a player and begin hosting your own radio talk-show. Player’s listening from their car or home can browse a list of channels currently being hosted at that very moment, and listen to you live, talking about government conspiracies and UFO’s! We are really hoping that this feature will have a major social impact for Identity. Like you, we see a lot of potential in something like this for budding stars within the community. We would absolutely love to see many of you sprout a career that started in a game we developed, and ended with us listening to your lovely voice on our actual car radio! The Town Square (Social Module) Many of you already know of, and are eagerly anticipating the release of the planned “Town Square” module that is currently still in production. While we can’t give you an exact date on when that will be ready, progress is steady, and we are as excited as you are to meet you all for the first time in a virtual environment. You may already be aware that Identity is largely influenced by a landmass in the south-eastern portion of the United States. The Town Square itself is only a small portion of a larger city built into the final version of Identity called Ash Hill, a reference to Asheville, North Carolina where we had originally planned to move Asylum’s office. We picked this area of the world particularly because it offered a wide range of geographical variance. The transition between Identity’s mix of biomes needed to feel natural, and this area offered most of what we had been looking for. As for the other cities in Identity, their influences may become more clear to you now. Myrtle Beach is obviously Turtle Beach in Identity, and Roseport is less subtle, but a mix between Atlanta and New York City. When we first started, we kept everything, including the structures and world props level to the ground, a mistake we have since corrected. We quickly realized that cities are rarely ever flat, and knew that setting that precedent now would benefit Identity in the future. The next time you see The Town Square module, we are confident that you will notice the difference compared to earlier screenshots, what such a small transformation makes for immersion in a game environment. Moving Forward We want to thank our community for being so patient with us. Over the course of the past year, we’ve seen many work-in-progress screenshots of assets destined for Identity, and while we believe they serve as a sample of the work we have already put into the game, we know that many of you are still anxious to see video. Our current priority is to get things ready to show off, or more specifically, the housing/apartment customization first. We are convinced that many of you will appreciate the time and effort we have put into this feature, so that you will be able to fully express yourself through your character and virtual home. We know we’ve been pretty quiet this past year, and the criticism we’ve heard from our fans on that through social media and the forums have not fallen on deaf ears! We will start to release regular updates through development blogs and continue to find new ways to interact with our community, to show you our gratitude for your support. You yourself can become more involved by contributing to the discussion with your ideas at www.identityrpg.com/community. We’ll see you there, and thank you again! Always remember that we are gamers too and we are as excited as you are to play Identity at launch!

1 pointAugust 16th 1986 The moon shines over a small field in the middle of nowhere. Tommy lights his cigarette, the glow of the flame stands out like a sore thumb. A black car rolls up, the doors open and three men get out and open the trunk. They open it up and drag a gagged man out of the trunk. Sal- Get outta there ya fuckin baby! Sal drags him over to Tommy and drops him in front of him. Tommy- So you're Aaron huh? Aaron- *Muffled yes.* Tommy- Take the fuckin gag off him.. Jesus. The gag is removed and Tommy picks Aaron up. He tells his guys to go wait by the car. Tommy puts his arm around Aaron. The strong smell of cologne could burn your nose. Tommy- Sorry for those guys, they're a couple of knuckleheads ya know? Aaron- I don't wanna die. Tommy- I never said you were gonna die. Honestly I don't wanna kill ya or have you die ya know? I really just wanna know what's goin on. Aaron- I don't know- Tommy- See don't lie to me. That's somethin I don't tolerate. I know what's going on but I wanted to see what type of guy I was dealin with. After you skimmed the pay for yourself you did what? Aaron- I went and got some drugs.. Tommy- Yes you did. I'm happy you're being honest with me. I feel like we have a connection going here. Since you're not ya know a made guy or nothing like that I don't give a fuck what you do. You could blow coke off a cock for all I care. Tommy turns to Aaron and take a puff of his cigarette. He offers Aaron a drag but he denies. Tommy- You don't smoke that's smart. You seem like a good fuckin kid. So do you promise not to do it again kid? Aaron- Y-y-yes. Tommy- You got a stutter there. That's not good. You don't trust me? Aaron- I do! I do Tommy! Tommy- Well.. That was your first mistake. Tommy burns his cigarette into Aaron's eye. The screams echo through the empty field as he falls to the ground. He starts stomping his head in. Tommy walks back towards the car. Tommy- Take the teeth out, get the hair, hands and feet. Then I want you to burn the fuckin body. Make this field glow.

1 pointSo is this not basically the first module - the town square? Imo, I think the beta that they will release should be the whole map, as I imagine they want to find out the bugs etc, and to be fair, I don't think it's going to be a beta like is seen in other games, where they stay in early access for years, I think they will release the beta when they have most of the core mechanics there, to find bugs or glitches before the main release, and see how well the general gameplay goes on, and how well the economy works. The beta can mean they can test all of these before release, so if there are glitches or problems which mean people get too much money, and therefore guns etc, making an unbalanced game, they can change it before release, and then reset everyone, and people can't really complain. I also read that it will let them test their anti-cheat, and if any hacks are made they can improve their anti-cheat and fix it, and get rid of all the hacked items before release On another note, seriously, what is your problem? You say James is " just another backer fan ", but to be honest imo, he is much more. He is extremely active on ,at least, the suggestion forum, and im sure the others as well, and is very helpful, and like someone said before, knows a lot more than a lot of people do about the game. Great, now I sound like his fan boy or something. You said " Share this idea or have other ideas? " and the first person who does this, in an informative way, you go off it, and start having a go at him, nit picking every word he says, cough cough *we*, oh no, how offensive. Not to say that there is a lot more mistakes in your posts, which doesn't bother me, but still. "way you are talking is just disrespectful ". Pretty rich coming from the person who says " You talk a lot about WE your the spokesperson of everybody your a real character jeezz " To somebody who took the time to reply to your post, and Is a lot more experienced on the forums, and who I can pretty much guarantee knows a lot more about the game than you. "Indeed should be like adults take some feedback". Again, pretty rich considering what I mentioned in the last paragraph, and also, for the record, "Kickapoo Your name says it all". Yeah, what an adult thing to say, commenting on his name, wow, that has *soo* much to do with the topic. James was, and does talk in a much more adult manner than you. Overall, please learn to take some criticism maybe (if that's honestly what you think it is), and maybe get some respect as well? Edit - @Kickapoo I can't agree more with your posts. Edit 2 - So I was looking through the forums, and guess what, I found another one of your comments 'hurray'. I'm going to paste them here to back up my points " I dont care what you stated im not only talking to you", and yet another hypocritical statement " If you are a sensitive guy i will set your little heart at ease". Like seriously, what the fuck?

1 pointWell firstly, don't assume Identity will be made the same. Secondly bugs cannot be helped, a beta is to allow players to play a game which is well obviously not complete and will have bugs in. Also its for stress testing and other small things, We don't want them downgrade the size of the map as because of that. Some want to be able to explore the map, test all the different features we can and make sure there is no game breaking bugs, which only occur in certain areas of the map. (What if that part of the map which is closed off for the beta, has a game breaking bug and the devs don't know about it?) Well it would obviously be missed in the beta. On the other hand the modules are standalone parts of the game which are small parts of the map, so the beta will have the full map and the modules will sectioned off so only small area is available.

1 pointThe Irony Hurts... (Look at what i highlighted with yellow) Also, If you were actually smart then you would've known that every person has a plan to make it where they want, they don't think they can just join and get everything... One last thing, that idiot you are defending deserved every word he got thrown at him. He may even get worse than words.

1 pointWow, really? I've seen quite a few of your posts about ''roleplay'' & how this game is going to be all about that, as someone pointed out to you in another thread, that's not true. It'll depend on what kind of server you play on. You call yourself a 'hardcore' roleplayer and yet, via a forum outside of the game world, you've already established yourself as the Don of a mafia family AND a member of a crime commission, word to the wise here Johnny......'hardcore' would be spawning into Identity with just the clothes on your back & then actually trying to establish yourself as a mobster, forming a family, and actually working your way to the top, not by telling everyone on a forum that you're a Mafia Don and you deserve respect. Or should we all play by your rules?.....hmmm, okay then............ So my char' is going to be the Attorney General,, and after and intensive investigation spanning ten years I know all about your Crime Commission & my office has got you all on RICO charges.....starting to see how this DOESN'T work yet Johnny? See Johnny, in roleplay GAMES it's always been the tradition that the char' you choose starts at the bottom (okay so you're a level 1 wizard with 2 spells) and earn your way to greatness by actually taking part in the game......which is why we'll all be starting at the bottom in Identity (well not you obviously). You're not roleplaying, you're metagaming....... Metagaming is any strategy, action or method used in a game which transcends a prescribed ruleset, uses external factors to affect the game, or goes beyond the supposed limits or environment set by the game. Another definition refers to the game universe outside of the game itself. In simple terms, it is the use of out-of-game information or resources to affect one's in-game decisions. ...........you don't speak for me Johnny, & you don't speak for Asylum, so before telling anyone else not to buy this game, and quoting rules at them, how about you find out what the rules actually ARE.
