3 pointsI know this can go under the business section but I suppose it can also be considered a general question. Does anybody know how in depth we can customize our businesses. For example, can I buy an available building and customize the sign and/or designs out front? I think this would be really cool and necessary for realistic entrepreneurship. If this is possible I think it would be really cool to buy a few businesses on a street and make them Italian style businesses to make a little italy in Roseport. (Unless there already is one) This can be done to make other ethnic enclaves such as a Chinatown or a distinct area like a red light district. Btw I searched it on the forums first but nothing came up, maybe it was because the way I typed it up idk. Anyways please only polite answers.

Considering I've already seen modelling screenshots of an AK and a Spas12 I think there will be plenty on offer. Also by you saying you don't like the idea of gun prices being high you are then contradicting your judgement elsewhere when you state you don't want RDM and server trolls.

1 pointGreat Question!!! That money is not really a go to the boss thing. Basically as devs had said, for your "Company" you can have a separate bank account than your personal one. Any money that is paid to the family is basically split up according to people who contributed to that specific job, and or spread out for time in the family. It is also a big vault for basically when a new member or any member needs a new suit, weapon, car, etc, if they are short on cash, thats what the family is for.

1 pointSo I know there are quite a number of other posts regarding this topic, but I'd like to share my own idea, as see what people think about my opinion. So, in my opinion, I think death should mean death, not respawning with a few items lost, and then continuing on the roleplay ignorant to the fact that you died. On the other hand, for this to be viable there would have to be an inheritance system in place so your new character can get the old characters property back, such as houses they bought, possibly gun they bought (legally), and clothes and stuff (however weird the concept of having a dead guys clothes may be :P), and then maybe the monetary value of certain items, and maybe the lease of a rented house could be transferred as well, and possibly the ownership of a business, but probably not a rank in a gang or a police force, although that could be debatable. The reason I think this work, is because it still keeps the importance of dying there, which would probably make people be more careful with their lives, and create some good roleplay situations, such as mourning the loss of a close friend/gang member, re-structuring the gang after the leader/other important roles die, and let people move up the ladder in gangs rather than just sitting at the bottom, with the more popular or experienced players sitting immortally at the top of the ladder until they either choose to retire the character or die. It would also make it more satisfying to kill an 'enemy' character, such as the leader of another gang, an opposing drug dealer, or even a political figure you who you disagree with, or getting revenge on a judge that locked up some of your gang members. Overall, I think it would create a richer role-playing experience, with a real element of fear, not daring to go into bad neighbourhoods alone and unarmed, and for important people being careful where they go, to keep out of harms way. This could also have a positive effect on having hostages, as if the police do not negotiate right, they will know that someone is actually going to die, and lose their life, for 'real'. On top of this, It's not like you would just die straight away after being downed, and if it was my decision if there was permanent death, depending on the injury I would suggest about a 5 minute bleed count for the ambulance to get to you and for the paramedics to stabilise you, before you die, although this time limit should really depend on how many paramedics there are, and how fast they can get to people, which can only really be found out through the test of time. Of course, in the eyes of many, this system has its issues. I Have heard people raise the issue of people basically not wanting to die, and one example used was being run over by a 13-year-old in a stolen car and dying from it, especially when they were the leader of a gang or something would be stupid and ruin the fun, or being randomly shot in the back of the head in the middle of the night by some Psyco. To me, this is all part of the fun, and is part of the roleplaying situation, and I can't really think of a way someone could kill you which wouldn't be feasible in real life, I mean in real life anybody could go out and murder someone, and this would work in game because I'm sure there's going to be a very good justice and law system, which would discourage people from doing these things, and would probably stop the type of people who would go on murdering sprees in their tracks relatively quickly. The death penalty, or long sentences, or even in extreme cases a life sentence would also, in my opinion, be a good way to counter this, as people would probably not want to risk this. It's also unlikely that people will just keep making new characters and murdering people, as guns are meant to be relatively hard to get because of the price, although I'll admit there is a slight chance for abuse here, although to be fair not much more than if there was a re-spawn system, which I think would only increase abuse I'm sorry for rambling on a bit, this is way longer than I expected it to be, but oh well . I'd love to hear what you think about my ideas in the comments, some of your ideas, and if you really can't be bothered to read it all, I can make a TL;DR version edit - Jesus christ I had a look on word and this is 800 words 0_0.

1 pointThis reaction of "just leave this community" is honestly one of the most stupid and ignorant things I've seen. It's a mute point. Telling someone to leave the forum if they disagree with you/think you're wrong Is the equivilant of telling them to shut up, covering your ears, and saying "lalallala I can't hear you!" Not to mention as a financial backer of the game, me and many other people are a part of the community whether we want to be or not.

1 pointMy problem, and I'm sure the problem many other have, is that the devs are being completely secretive about any sort of progress. I'd be fine if they had to cut features or delay the launch or whatever they have to do, but they could at least TELL US if they need more time. Every time you ask for a date they always say Oh early 2017. They've said that date for the beta and the first module. It seems common sense that if they are having a setback or some aspect of the game is giving them trouble, they would tell us right? We don't even know what they're working on rn. Is it just artwork? Is it networking? Who knows? Plus my biggest concern is that there is absolutely NO proof that they have a playable game. All we've seen is some unreal engine walking sim footage. Come to think of it the blueprints in unreal should take care of most of the difficult stuff... Probably almost anyone could write the code required just for a simple social sim, because most of it is already in the UE blueprints. Anyway, if they just sent out a tweet like every week or whatever saying, oh this week we're working on coding in jobs and next week we're working on net-code, at least they would be saying SOMETHING, but they aren't.

1 pointHi Herzog Just a quick word of advice. I've been in an online MC for years, and what you've posted is for real life, but in our experience does not work for online. Online, your Road Captain will be planning the route so you'll want him leading simply because he will know the way. Also, because of lag, crashing, dis-connecting etc you'll want a full patched member at the very back, so that he can call for a halt & you won't leave anyone behind (We call this guy the Tail Gunner)

In Identity, or at least on official servers (private servers can change or disable certain features), there are gameplay restrictions for how police officers can interact with players or the environment, which are subject to change based on testing. In some cases, a player must first be reported for a crime before a police officer can arrest them. You won't see random arrests, and trolling behavior will be punishable via an officer reporting function, even potentially leading to a long-term ban from joining the police force for certain abuses. The goal here is to ensure that only people who take this role seriously will play as police officers. As it stands currently regarding property raids, players, even cops, won't be able to access another players property without permission from the owner. We view housing in Identity as an important, almost sacred, social feature and most players wouldn't want to see disturbed. It's treated as a location of tranquility, peace, and privacy to many who have put a lot of passion and love into customizing their personal space. Have you seen those funny Second Life videos of trolls entering another players property, and the owner gets very upset to see a person there that they didn't invite? It's kind of like that. Think of it as that one place you can go to roleplay with friends knowing nobody can break your immersion. We are however still exploring different ways players may be able to interact with each other and property. John has expressed interest in using homes as meth labs and allowing cops to raid them, but we haven't settled on a solution for that yet. Regarding sniping and PVP, we expect that there will be some camping in areas of high criminal activity, but there won't be any sniper rifles beyond a hunting rifle with a short 2x zoom scope, even for the police! In a early concept piece floating around this thread, there are some rooftop snipers sitting above the town square, but our concept art really shouldn't be seen as a confirmation, as much as it should be seen as an expression of potential. For instance, in the actual in-game scene, most of those rooftops are inaccessible. Gameplay still needs to be designed with balance in mind, and we have to be very careful with what we make accessible within the environment. As far as mugging goes, official servers have a unique stress system in place that we are very excited to test out. Outside of cities and low crime areas, your stress meter is naturally higher, making you more vulnerable to attack. Even in low stress areas, certain actions, some as simple as having a gun pointed at you, or crashing your car, will gradually increase your stress meter. Cities themselves aren't exactly safe zones, and the only truly safe place you can go is, inside a sub-HUB, or your own home. While there is a fire department in Identity with plenty to do within that role, players will not be able to set a fire intentionally. Fires occur randomly, or based on various factors, throughout the world. Your car can even catch on fire after an accident, but it's not going to spread to anything around it. We suspect that there will be certain jobs that players prefer for earning money easier, but this depends entirely on how well we balance things. If we make mistakes, people will exploit our mistakes, so we have to be extremely cautious with money and the economy in Identity. It's on us to design jobs and systems that our players can't easily exploit for an unfair advantage. Lastly, regarding corrupt politicians, while there really isn't anything a politician can do that will burn the economy to the ground per-se, we anticipate that some crafty people will secretly campaign with ill-intentions, and we encourage this! If they turn out to be a dud after becoming elected, band together and make sure they don't become governor again in the future! They had their chance! 1 point1. There will be a test for high ranking cops which have access to the good / heavy guns and police equipment. 2. If they just walked in the middle of the public, depending on the area safe zones are around. but otherwise if a cop was say rdm'ing they would maybe be blacklisted/ banned from the job temporary or permanently. 3. Random searching is not a big of a deal but does it happen IRl. yes it does. so it is a real life rp thing for the game. 4. Abusive police may get punished by maybe say suspension from job/ jail time with demotion. 5. Guns will be very hard to get and so why would someone risk that much to lose one of the hardest things. (Mass murderers will get punished in some way as they stated. 6. There will be safe zones and so that means there are places free from crime/ muggings. 7. Houses and apartments are not able to be broken into, you must have permission to enter from the owner. 8. The jobs will be player driven, a lot of them and well they stated its going to be like real life.... with earning money. 9. Well firstly corrupt police in official servers would probably get a temp blacklist and/ or politician.
