A forum is a place to express yourself freely. Doing that isn't considered crying, just so you know. I gave my opinion, and you gave yours. I never said you were crying, or insulted you in any way, so why attack my opinion and label it as crying? Is that what you consider to be mature? Just because we don't agree, doesn't mean we can't be civil, respectful, and friendly to one another. We are a community, all of us. So let's get along. you don't have to like me, but I kindly ask that you respect myself and others who post their opinions. You don't have to agree, nor do you do you have to be defensive.

It's not damage control. Nothing you post has a basis in fact or truth, in fact you yourself have posted outright lies and slander. And while we're on the subject, there IS no freedom of speech here because this is not a public forum. You are here on sufferance and if the Asylum Devs want to ban you. or edit and delete your posts then they are well within their rights to do that.

When did I say that? I dont want them to develop it faster. I just want updates haha. and alright haha, you're clearly the mature one here. That's fine. You're entitled to say what you want. Just don't be so upset when I say what I want.

I may play a character like this just to see how the hunting will work out...

Youre pushing it Shimo!! JK, maybe as you level up in the skill the prints become more visible like what you suggested with a slightly glowing outline.

why don't you pm them? like i've written already: i'm not a developer. i'm just a patient backer if you "obviously know that" you should stop argueing. ea is spaming blogposts, but only because they have 9,200/9.200 employees and most obviously they have more than 1 community manager. if you have backed for a game that is still in development you can do this: play other games until identity is ready

This ^ devs take notes please @Motown

Well yeh, tracking and identifying animals would be different skills but still under the whole tracking skill. Gives us hunters something to work towards

I'll wait as long as I have to for Identity!

The thing is, i feel like even the developers got bored of this. But we don't know because it seems like no one gives a crap about us. I'd like just a post saying "Hi, we're not dead, the game is still going, we're not using your pledged money on our vacation!"
  14. 1 point
Well, if that's the case, the $15-$30 you likely pledged could be better spent elsewhere, that's a large amount of money to some people. What is the reason you pledged? Correct me if i'm wrong, but it is probably because you want to support the developers; developers which are making a game you hope has promise. That is more than likely the reason for James donating. The only difference is that James undoubtedly has the funds to pledge a greater sum of money. This is not a bad thing, far from it. Sure, I understand your point, but if the game turns out to be what everyone has hoped for, then their money is well spent. Only time will tell. But don't go around saying people have wasted their money. It's their choice to pledge how much they wish. It has nothing to do with you, or me for that matter.
  15. 1 point
The whole topic of our conversation has been about James pledging too much, because to you, backing a game you think has promise is a waste of money. If you have the money to do so, why not? You have not told me a good reason why you shouldn't support the developers, so I'll await your response.
  16. 1 point
No I wouldn't, I don't have the money to do so. But what does this have to do with what I was saying? I don't think you understand the concept of donations. We're talking about before the game is even released not when it is in stores. Even if it was, receiving a sum of money like that provides the team with many benefits, it is nowhere near close to a waste of money. Just because they have passed their goal on Kickstarter does not warrant the halt of donations, they have just met the goal they set.
  17. 1 point
That is exactly my point, if there were no people donating, the game would not be possible. Saying that people have wasted money because they have pledged more than others when they don't need to is a silly remark. Even if they have passed their goal, more funding is always a great benefit to a small team like the Identity developers, especially so if it comes in greater amounts.

I said the game would not ever be released if it was not backed by donators like James, that is not a 'stupid' thing to say. If that did not come across to you as what I said, I'm sorry. But that is what I intended to denote.

true, I said to my friend he spent too much and he said well its my money so i can spend as i wish. So i guess thats now my answer to you
  20. 1 point
Erm, $90 because my friend but he will pay me back $30 because the rest is for a b'day gift (he was going/wanted to upgrade to $90 pledge but no money so i said i would for him and said pay me back next year.) $250 because why can't i be generous? and it was CAD for kickstarter and i wanted to see it get backed. My other friend has spent more than $400 on "star citizen" But also people on the kickstarter pledged $1000 so i didn't do a lot compared to those dudes.

Yes, but also it would be disappointing. I believe in @Paratus and @Motown that they will complete it, otherwise i would not have pledged so much money. I pledged $90 for a friend and $250 for myself.. I know I won't be disappointed because i have faith.

I will be roleplaying as a musician. I have a proper mic and I'll just play guitar and sing into it. I'll try out a bunch of other stuff as well though.

Once the game gets released i might think about setting up a "University Course" that will teach people about the basics of the game and how to go about making money in various ways and what not.
