3 pointsHey Chaoss, welcome to the Identity forums! We love hearing from other modders and developers. I'm not sure where it is coming from, but It's ok to ask duplicate questions here! You're into VR, have you bought a Rift or Vive yet? We've been toying around with VR development in our downtime, and would like to implement it into Identity!

2 pointsI have an Oculus Rift DK1, HD Prototype, DK2 and I had a CV1 but I unfortunately had to sell it as my CPu failed and I needed to fund a replacement. I also own a HTC Vive Pre (which is the same as the consumer version). You should definatly look at getting it in ASAP as there are a lot of people that'd suddenly be very interested in your project.

2 pointsWe absolutely have plans to implement VR into Identity. John, our project lead is very excited for that. We're still working out the best solution for movement, but we imagine most people will use it when driving. VR probably won't be in the first module, unless John sneaks it in before launch. It would be awesome to have it ready for the movie theater though.

1 pointHello everyone. So, in my town, we have Community Service Officers (CSO) who drive in green cruisers and are only given pepper spray, and they are kind of like police, but they go to cold burglary calls (cold burglaries are burglaries of a home that happened while the homeowner was away, if you didn't know that), managing traffic accidents, and reporting activity that requires police or other first responders, and otherwise just going around town making sure people are doing well. For example, if a bank is being robbed, they will call it in and then just wait outside the bank, making sure civilians stay clear of the area and making sure the suspects don't go anywhere while police officers are en route. CSO's are required to have a High School diploma, be 18 or older, and have a clean record. This position is only part time in my town, I don't even know if other departments have this sort of thing, but this is basically more of a way to get a boost when you put in your application with a police department when you're ready to be an officer. So, I was wondering, would this perhaps be something we could introduce into the game? I know that having this sort of part time position wouldn't be as nice as being an actual officer, especially since you don't even get a Taser, and I doubt anyone would end up doing this since their age won't matter, or at least I don't think it will, when it comes to a game rather than an actual police department. So, should this be something that if it was implemented, we opened to civilians who are looking for a temp job? There are some people who may like Law Enforcement who wish to stay on the civilian side of life, or if the civilian recruitment wouldn't work, would putting officers who are going through the police academy into CSO jobs when they're not training work, or perhaps this could be a disciplinary action for officers who do something wrong. Let me know what you think about this, cheers! Here's a picture of a CSO car in my town, I blacked out the officer to the right because I wasn't sure if I should have kept them in or not.

1 pointHi all, I had the idea that boards can be placed around in certain locations in the game which could be called "Community Boards". The idea of Community Boards would be so that players can interact with these boards and see the latest news and announcements which are made (especially useful for private RP servers). Moderators/Admins can submit articles to be placed on community boards and the boards can be split into IC and OOC sections. OOC sections would contain updates to the server for example and IC sections could be latest news that has happened in-game such as: "Male killed in car crash outside City Hall" (for example). Community Boards could also have extended sections for example: In the IC section, their could be Job Advert section and a general advert section so that people who are employing can advertise their job or people who are offering their job service to the community can advertise there. They might or might not need to pay for this (up to admins). Let me know what you think of the idea!

1 pointThe reason for this may be because on some of the larger buildings such as apartment buildings once the player enters they will be sent straight to their own room but it is in fact only one room which makes up the entire complex, like GTA 5. Of course this means that while interior customisation will be limited to only one small area that the player owns, exterior customisation of a building will likely not be possible due to it being a shared space and to stop people creating trashy looking buildings. However terraforming is a concept that has been confirmed to an extent, meaning your customisation powers shouldn't be completely redundant.

1 pointFirstly, there will be probably a house in the woods but you won't be able to paint the exterior of it, only the interior. 2. You can plant things like flowers most likely.

1 pointLet him know that there are about 50% of VR users that like (and actually prefer) classic style movement over the teleport-to-move mechanic. You could also have 3rd person (adventure game style fixed camera) for movement while on foot if you (like me) dislike the idea of teleport mechanics, the game I'm development will be using both (can be chosen by the end user). So if he 'sneaks' it in, even if it's a debug setting tell him to leave standard fps style movement on for first person VR movement. It's good to hear that you'll be investing in VR support though as I'm sure a lot more people will be interested from the VR community. Those 'tools' aren't that good, they might work ok for some games but not without a lot of modding and poking about. It's always ideal to have first party VR support.

1 pointI am going to beat James to the punch on this one. First of all welcome. Second of all.. search the forums before you post on a subject or James will come down on you like a Thundercougarfalconbird.

1 pointHere in the UK, we have PCSO's and when you describe this, I immediately think of them. PCSO stands for Police Community Support Officer who doesn't have the power to arrest and isn't equipped with anything (not even pepper spray - at least I believe). So PCSO's are basically as you described these officers being and if I go ahead with the plan of making a UK based server then these will be involved in the Police and I think it's a good idea to do so. I support you on this and hopefully if the game is mod supported on it's full release then we can add these vehicles/uniforms in as part of mods. Even if it doesn't contain the full excitement of being a regular Police Officer, it's still a job which pays and will still be involved in the community and crime prevention. I'm sure there will be a lot of crime going on in servers therefore these will be useful to attend to situations such as anti-social behaviour whilst regular Police can concentrate on major crimes.

1 pointHello All, I thought it might be good to enter in some tips for those of you that choose to run your own server. Staff interaction is a key interest when running your own server in any type of life experience. From my research into identity, it looks like servers will have a certain about of free reign when choosing rules and regulations for its own server and server management. The Incident Command System is being used in real life for all EMS, Police, and Fire Services. What's great about the ICS system is that you can use it to manage your server! How many of you have visited previous life communities that have 80 million positions most of which are lead positions? I am sure a lot. The ICS system allows for the minimum of active leadership while still providing the most effective amount of communication. In my experience I have developed systems to provide services to many different life servers and life type genres of gameplay. My most successful system has been the Legal System. The Legal System was designed using the Incident Command System from memory of my years in the fire service, and it is actually my job currently to design new developments for the Incident Command System. A typical game system using the ICS used a 1:3 structure. This 1:3 Structure branched one person to three persons. Each one of the three persons had three persons assigned below them. In the Incident Command System, it says one person can handle up to 7 people before they are overwhelmed and communications break down. The potential for your server can go from 1:3 to 1:4 to 1:5 to 1:6 to 1:7 using the Incident Command System. Never should you have 2:3, 2:4, and so on because this will cause a break in your communication. The most successful servers and communities I have seen have used this 1:3 - 1:7 method for maximum amounts of communication. However, most all of them have failed because they sought to expand those ratios to more than 7. I will elaborate further should you have questions, and this is merely a suggestion for those wishing to run a community or a server.

1 pointI know i am a little late to the party but I plan to be a politician and I want to side with your party (don't worry i already signed up on the website C;).
