3 pointsList of some jobs that could be made possible with certain game mechanics that I came up with *suggestions that may or may not of come up in previous posts before* Hairdresser Prison Warden Park Ranger/Forest Ranger Mechanic (think this has been confirmed) Prison Guard Coffee Shop Owner Cafe owner (assuming this is going to be added anyway) Electrician Plumber Painter Gardener Pimp (because why not?) Lumberjack (I don't think this one will happen) Taxi Driver (practically just a guy with a car that gets paid for rides so this is definatley being added) Bus Driver (Same as taxi driver but with a bus confirmed) Fisherman (probably going to be possible) So these are suggestions. Suggestions to say that I want (I sound needy there and a bit of a loser) the mechanics for most of these jobs to be possible in the game. I know it's needy and a lot of work but this is what people want (people meaning just me until people comment and agree or disagree and rek me) Feel free to comment if you agree or disagree, I'm not stopping you.

3 pointsJoining the Mariano Crime Family Joining this thing is not easy. You cannot pay or beg your way in. You become a man of honour and respect only through merit. To even be considered, you must be cunning, smart, and competent. You must be able to take and follow orders as soon as they are given, and not let your loyalties sway. We do not want people who lack the ability to be self-directed and operate as useful members of the family. You must also be eternally loyal to your friends in the family, as they are expected to be to you. Loyalty is of the utmost importance. The process begins with you working for a made man, doing jobs or helping in any way he asks. You must kick up part of what you earn to him. As an associate, there is no minimum, but the more you kick up, the more profitable you are. Once you have worked for this man of honour, and have proven yourself to be a competent, intelligent, honourable man who is capable of earning and kicking up well, you will be proposed to the Boss of the family for being made. At this point, the made man who you work for will vouch for you, and if he truly believes you will make a valuable member of the family, and the Boss agrees - you will be made. The process of being made is not something we talk about. Simply, you will enter an associate and come out a man of honour. Once you are made, you are an official member of the Mariano Crime Family. The possibilities are endless, and there are vast riches to be made. You are a member of an exclusive society which will protect you and your interests above all else, provided you put this thing before all else in your life. This thing of ours is not just a job, it is a way of life. OOC: If you think you have what it takes to become an associate of the family, simply message me here on the forums and I'll be happy to discuss.

2 pointsWe're all obviously here because we are looking forward to Identity, but I think there are a few things that could potentially hurt the final game. Here they are: - Bad roleplayers: people who aren't playing Identity to roleplay and live out realistic arcs, but instead just want to have a super powerful character with no real story arc and no flaws, basically a superhero. also people who name their characters ridiculous things that just aren't names. - Twelvies: twelvies tend to ruin most games they find their way onto, and we can only hope they don't find their way onto Identity. they are not only 95% of the time terrible roleplayers who would be better fitted to GTA V, but also they ruin the immersion and have very little maturity. - Hackers / Trolls: both of these can be dealt with easily, with staff intervention, but if there aren't any measures in place to deal with them I can see them becoming issues. Anyone else have any worries? Maybe staff can answer our worries? Thanks.

2 pointsSo i wanted to talk about this game and that we need lots of patients until it releases because the game is not easy to make. Its probably very hard and with a small budget they need time and even if this game comes out 2 -3 years later then expected as long as its good im happy but everyone is eager and i have to say last big piece news information was exactly one month ago (25th March) so this week something has to come out otherwise people will become agressive if you know what i mean and by saying that i mean people will beg more cause its like a pen of animals everyone gets hungry so its like next week is feeding week and everyone wants food so everyone is really eager. But what i would recommend is for us to be a bit patient and soon a video and tons of news will come out Trust ME *WINK*

2 pointsGenerally modding is still a maybe- they're considering it, they've done and probably are still doing some work on it, but not sure if it'll make it to the final product or not.
-
2 pointsHaving thought about it some more I have to agree. Death needs to have serious consequences, but losing your entire character might be a bit steep.

1 pointIntroduction The Mariano Crime Family is an Italian-American organised crime family based on the ancient principles of Cosa Nostra. Like the Genovese Crime Family of New York City, the Mariano Crime Family are considered the 'Ivy League' of organised crime, mainly because of their ability to adapt with the times and find new ways of making money even as law enforcement clamp down on the mob. One of the key differences between this and other criminal organisations is the sanctity placed on loyalty and brotherhood, two values which have unfortunately become rare in the underworld. Structure The organisational structure of the Mariano Crime Family is the same as that of other Italian-American and Sicilian crime families. Low-level associates of the organisation work on the streets, making money in the hopes of eventually becoming 'made men' (official members of the family). Once they are 'made', associates are promoted to the rank of soldier, or 'soldato'. Soldiers operate in crews of up to 10, which are each lead by a captain or caporegime (shortened to capo). A capo is essentially a lieutenant, managing his crew and ensuring that they are earning money without breaking the rules of the family. There can be anywhere from 2 to 20 crews in a family depending on its size, each operating independently of each other (for the most part) but ultimately part of the same organisation. All of the families captains report to the underboss, the second-in-command and one of the most powerful members of the family. The duty of the underboss is to oversee the day-to-day running of the family, ensure that business is running smoothly and that captains are passing up their kick-up (more on this later). The consigliere acts as an advisor to the boss, helping him steer the family in the right direction and settling disputes both within and outside the family. Finally, the Boss (also known as the Don, or Godfather) is at the very top of the pyramid. All decisions, including who gets made, who the families captains are, and who runs what rackets (criminal jobs), are made by him. At the end of the day, the Don gets a cut of all profits made by the family. Kicking Up Key to the power structure of the mafia is the practice of 'kicking up'. Essentially, all this means is that at a certain pre-determined time (probably once a week or once every two weeks), anybody earning with the family (this means associates and made men alike) must pass a certain amount of their profits to their superiors. Associates kick up to whichever made man they are working for. Soldiers kick up directly to their captain under all circumstances, while captains all kick up to the administration of the family (meaning the underboss, boss, and consigliere). The amount that one is expected to kick up differs based on rank and the rackets one is working, but the minimum amount will always be fair and reasonable. Unless you are particularly reckless, kicking up will not be a chore, and most of the time only about 10% of your weekly income will go towards it. However, basic math tells you that the more you earn, the smaller the percent of your earnings you will need to kick up to satisfy the minimum requirements. Then again, kicking up even more than the minimum is a good way to get noticed by the higher-ups and possibly earn you a promotion (which obviously means more opportunities to earn big money). It is always the best earners who are the most respected in the family. It is important to remember that just because you have people working for you and kicking up to you, you should not slack off. Everybody, from the associates to the boss of the family, actively work to earn money on top of what they are earning from kick-up. Nobody sits around waiting for payments and drinking coffee. How to Join It is important for the organisation that our members are competent (skilled) and intelligent, that way everybody is able to make as much money as possible. Even though being an associate of the Mariano family is potentially one of the higher paying jobs available to most people in Identity, being a 'made man' is where the real money is. The higher your rank, the more money and opportunities are available to you. To join, simply work with well-connected associates or made men in the family. Make money and every so often, kick up a decent amount of what you make to your higher-ups. The more you bring in, the better your reputation will be. Of course, it isn't just about money. You need to demonstrate that you are loyal to the family before all else, and that you know and understand omerta (more on this coming up). Once you have earned the respect of the families administration, you will be considered for being made. The very best associates are evaluated and hand-picked to become official members of the family, and therefore expand their earning potential (for themselves and the family) infinitely. It is best not to ask to get made, as this will only annoy and slow down the process. Instead, demonstrate that you are both loyal and a good earner, and you will have your best shot at becoming an official member of the family. Rules of the Family The rules of the Mariano Crime Family are quite simple. For simplicities sake, they are referred to as 'omerta' (pronounced oh-mer-tah). They are: - Your loyalty to the family comes before all else. - Never hurt or kill another made man under any circumstances, and only harm an associate if you have a very good reason to do so. - Never co-operate with the police in any way. If the police ask you about anything related to business, you know nothing. You're simply a businessman. - Do not discuss family business with anybody who is not either a made man, or very well connected to the family. - Make sure you are not late with your payments. You would not like your underlings being late with their payments to you, so show the same courtesy. If you follow these simple rules and generally try to avoid causing trouble, you will find your time in the Mariano Crime Family very rewarding and fun. Conclusion The Mariano Crime Family is an organisation for people who value loyalty, brotherhood, and intelligence. We are, in the truest sense of the word, a family. This is an organisation for those who aren't content with being a part of any old gang. If you would like to discuss further, feel free to send me a private message. Keep in mind that our organisation will operate on the Australian server so, while we are not opposed to doing business with US or UK people, we only accept made men who are willing to play on the Australian server. Regards, J.M

1 pointSo I have 2 questions (Hope it's ok I didn't post 2 separate ones); 1. Will we be able to buy radios to use to communicate with other players? Radios as in walkie-talkies, just to be clear. 2. Will people other than the police be able to utilize handcuffs/plasticuffs/other forms of restraint to detain people? This would be useful for PMCs if we were raiding a building and then found some people to turn over to the police.

1 pointHey all, I signed up for this community awhile ago and just never introduced myself or participated in the discussions. I plan on poppin in and chatting from now on. I can't tell you how excited I am for this game! I have been waiting for a game like this, ever since I discovered the sandbox genre of MMOs. The only issue has been, I have never been satisfied with them. This game seems to be sooo promising. I am from Wisconsin, around the Milwaukee area. Any others on the forum from around there? Born and raised in Chicago though, so yes, I am a Cubs fan Hope to get to meet some of you, so when we start our adventures in game, we will already have a few friends and maybe a community of good people.

1 pointA1: I am sure they may have both but I am not certain, but I am sure I saw it was a rod or a net to catch them. A2: Yes, they have confirmed yatch's and fishing boats, but not a lot of variety on first realease / in the beta. A3: Well they have confirmed that you can go diving like to look at sea life and or go in under water caves as such so I guess that will be in the game too.

1 pointThere's a lot of careers in this thread that aren't exactly very common, for example Assassins aren't very common around the world. So i wanted to list down a few common jobs that would create more options for a player. White Collar = Office Jobs Blue Collar = Manual Jobs ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ -White Collar Jobs- Stock Broker A stockbroker is a regulated professional individual, usually associated with a brokerage firm or broker-dealer, who buys and sells stocks and other securities for both retail and institutional clients, through a stock exchange or over the counter, in return for a fee or commission. Stockbrokers are known by numerous professional designations, depending on the license they hold, the type of securities they sell, or the services they provide Insurance Claims examiners work inside an office to handle the claims filed by those insured. Sometimes, they work with private investigators or adjusters who visit the site or the property for which a claim is filed. This includes workers' compensation, health, liability, automotive, home, property and business insurance. As a claims examiner, you typically require certification for the field of insurance, computer experience and self-motivation and discipline. Accounting Whether you work for an accounting firm or in the accounting department of a business or public entity, there are many types of office jobs in the accounting field. These jobs include file clerks, billing or accounts payable clerks, payroll supervisors, general-ledger accountants, project accountants, accounting managers, supervisors and controllers. ________________________________________________________________________________________________________ -Blue Collar Jobs- Electrician Specializing in electrical wiring of buildings and related equipment. Electricians may be employed in the construction of new buildings or maintenance of existing electrical infrastructure. Boilermaker Works in nuclear and fossil power plants, shipyards, refineries and chemical plants, on boilers, pressure vessels, and similar equipment. Carpet Layer One who specializes in laying carpet Heavy Equipment operator A driver and operator of heavy equipment used in engineering and construction projects ________________________________________________________________________________________________________

1 pointI don't like the idea of creation of a new character. As people have already explained there are already a lot of things that can cause you to die when you don't want to such as being run over or RDMed by some kid or being insta killed by a script kiddie. It's just seems like too much for the player to have to create a new character each time. I agree that an option to create a new character should be there for those that want to but for someone like me an option to spawn back at a hospital at a cost will be a lot better. I want to continue the game as my character not his brother or nephew or some other random person.
-
1 pointI have noticed that no-one owns a chain of gas/petrol stations. Or... no-one is drilling for oil... I'm assuming no-one wants to be real world jobs because that is the point of this game, escaping reality and being able to be whatever you want. You can't necessarily be whatever you want in real life so this opens up a whole new world for people. The fun jobs such as assassin are seen as some as the more fun jobs so they get picked more.
-
1 pointTrue, bad numbers are the one thing that can make even the best server crash and burn, I know from first hand experience.
-
1 pointLot of potential here, if you rake in some serious RPers then this could really take off
-
1 pointNot to mention jobs like -Chef -Banker (loans etc.) -General Store owner -Taxi Driver All good jobs to consider

1 pointFinally some super serious RP with a promising and new idea, I absolutely can't wait for this to become a thing.
-
1 pointI am with Johnny on this one, I want to eventually live in splendor but I'm going to start out small and build my way up through the course of my RP. It will also be an indicator of power, how new/rich is this guy? Check out his house to find out.

1 pointMaybe a GTA Styled death. You die, drop the money and stuff that was on you and you spawn in a hospital or something would be good and immersive. I am not sure how weapons should be dealt with on death. Since weapons are supposed to be hard to get maybe they should be destroyed once you die so no one can pick them up but you can no longer use them either.
-
1 pointVery well put. I've considered the same about having a high price tag. A lot of would-be trolls just won't spend $50+ to mess with people. It's easier on games like Garry's Mod because they've already got it, but there's literally no reason to have Identity other than to roleplay, so that should be good.
-
1 pointUnreal Engine 4. Please make sure you are putting this in the correct thread next time. Thank you. @HairyGrenade please can you move this
-
1 pointFirstly beta includes the 3 modules before it, Town Square(social module), S.W.A.T module (cops vs robbers) and the Racing module throughout the year in that order. Beta will come december/ early 2017 before full game release. PLEASE for Heavens sake use the search function to find out if the question has been asked. Like usual another person dont. This question has been asked dozens and dozens of times and people are sick of answering those people who ask it before searching. Search next time if you have a question, its most likely been answered.

1 pointThanks for the into, and sorry to repeated this question, I wanted to be sure...

1 pointThis is basically what I meant, so yeah, as for hospital stays they would obviously not be too long because that would be really boring, perhaps 1-2 in game days, less even
-
1 pointIt's a pretty big difference between making injuries realistic and having no respawn, seriously think your arguments through
-
1 pointGood stuff. Can't see there being carpet layers or electricians, but there's definitely a place for insurance salesmen and accountants, maybe even stockbrokers if the devs can get it right. A few jobs I thought of: - Unionist - Psychiatrist (if people are willing to RP it a bit and not get ridiculous) - Journalist
