Okay. So the old role play thread had a good run but it had its ups and downs and people slowly lost interest. I really enjoyed interacting with other members through RP and imagination so i have decided to make a new fresh one with some rules. The aim of this thread is for you to take your ingame character or a whole new character and RP with other peoples characters using text. This text RP is used a lot in RP guilds in MMORPGs. If you've never done it...give it a try Please use this as it is actually a lot of fun and gives people a preview of your RP skills. Okay so rules wise: 1. No off topic conversations. Some of this interrupted the last thread. 2. All character voice should be put in " " and actions in * * 3. If you have a small comment that is to do with the RP thread then please put it in (( )) 4. You cant control other peoples characters, only yours. Rules aside, i will start off a scene and start off some RP. Add in whatever you want and join is as much as you want. If your character is involved in something at the resort then do it, just make sure to set the scene so people know where it is going. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- *An early morning mist sets upon the northern city of the island. In a small downtown street, a young man is working on a 2008 Dodge Charger outside of his chop shop. The sign reads 'Underground Chop Shop'* "Damn. I hate these cars...they never seem to actually work" Jonathan Taylor mutters to himself as he reaches around for various tools. "I wonder when Kev will be coming in?" He continues, momentarily looking at his watch. It reads 9:14am. *Jonathan grabs a cup of coffee off of the ground close to where he is working and drinks the last of it, before trying to throw the cup into an open top bin across the lot and missing* "Meh" He says before returning to his work.

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that once a module is up, it will stay up until the beta release. So the Town Square Module will be up while the Racing and SWAT Module are up. Don't quote me on it though!

Anything written by @Motown. He could write 'Hi' or something like that and every member will horde that like button

So i looked through this sub forum and realized no one has asked about this. So i would really like to be a mechanic in game. I have a couple of ideas for this so prepare! Okay so the mechanic role, along with other jobs and hobbies such as painting and other such player input jobs could maybe have a skill tree. So next, lets say that there will both be NPC and player mechanic jobs. Taking your car to an NPC will get it to a professional standard but at a hefty price whereas taking it to a player mechanic will allow the mechanic to charge whatever meaning it could be cheaper than taking it to the NPC however the work quality depends on their skill level. Continuation of work increases your skill level until you are almost as good as an NPC mechanic. Not as good otherwise there would be no need for NPCs. Now i dont know how this would work but if possible it would be nice to see a mini game like car mechanic simulator included with the job but even just a simple match the parts or dot to dot would do me. I would just really like to see a mechanic job that i will be able to make a living off. If ive missed anything ill be sure to add it and if you have any comments or further suggestions, please post them

Hey, man! I'm Hill, living off the land in my trusty van since as long as I can remember. I dropped out of high school to cruise the streets in which the universe takes me. You can normally find me out in the woods during the nights staring out into the stars looking for signs of extraterrestrials, maybe even hosting a radio show discussing conspiracies and other hubba jubba. Don't worry though, I'm not crazy or anything. I don't wear tinfoil on my head or anything, but I do love my trusty boonie hat! I'm a friendly guy, usually I'm up for anything. If you're a hitchhiker, then I'm the guy you need to call. I'm vegan, I don't believe in eating meat. I believe all life is precious, I believe even the darkest of souls have the power to change for the better and always give second chances. Don't underestimate me, though. I won't hesitate to do what I have to if it comes to it. I'm not the luckiest soul alive either, but I have my moments in the spotlight. That's just the jist about myself, I don't want to throw my entire boring life story on you just yet or anything, we have all the time in the world! You're probably gone by now anyway, but if you're not then much love brother. <3 I'd love to know more about you too, man. Hill, Signing Off..

The 'Passport' is what is known as a copy of the game when it is fully released. All pledges, starting from citizen, include the passport but you will need to buy founder (an extra $15) to get access to the modules and to the beta. In my opinion its probably worth getting founder. Modules are gonna be fun Also please use the search function next time as this has been asked many times. Thanks

DEV BLOG #001 Greetings Citizens, It has been just over a year since you helped successfully kick start Identity into existence! We want to thank you all for your continued support by providing you all with regular updates following the development process for Identity. Engaging with our community is one of the best ways we can show our thanks, and a development blog is a perfect opportunity for us to bring you along for the ride. As you’ve seen throughout the past year, there is no game out there that is quite like Identity, and through your support, you have proven to us that Identity is a vision worth turning into a reality! Feedback has shown us that you all really appreciate our attempts to respond to virtually every question we receive on social media. Twitter and Facebook have been a huge boost in exposure for Identity, and so it is time we begin to explore other avenues of exposure to help our community understand a bit more about the game. In the coming months, our fans will see their first glimpse of gameplay for Identity! We are all extremely excited to show off our first gameplay video, which will fully explore the mechanics of apartment and housing customization. With this video, you will see that we have stayed true to our original art direction from the original Kickstarter trailer, while maintaining high standards in realistic lighting and graphics. We can safely say that we have improved many of the areas of our design that needed attention since February last year. Apartment & Housing Customization Apartments and houses within Identity will have a fully customizable interior. You will be able to change the wall paper on every wall in every room, place furniture anywhere there is space on the ground, swap out doors, windows, baseboards, crown moulding, and even wainscoting! We have made no compromise to the level of detail in which you can customize your apartments or homes, in order to truly express your sense of home decor. With this level of control, there is virtually no chance that the interior of two homes will ever look alike. There will be hundreds of furniture items available to purchase in-game in every style and design, from traditional to contemporary. Furniture in Identity can even be crafted, sold, or traded to other players, and those who wish to try their hand at crafting hand-made furniture from a variety of materials can place a crafting table anywhere they wish inside their homes! And if you wish to share your space with a partner, friend, or even a group of friends, homes and apartments will be available for sale throughout the world that support multiple roommates depending the size of the space and how many bedrooms are available. The home-owner may even grant build permissions to any number of roommates, even visitors, to help them decorate their living space. When you are finished, invite your friends over to compliment you on your interior decorating skills! If you’re anything like us, we know you will spend more time cleaning up this virtual home than you do your real one! Radio This week, our team has also placed a lot of our development efforts into building a functioning radio system that will allow you to listen to your favorite real-world radio stations through placed radio objects inside your virtual home, or car! Yes, you can flip through the channels in your car radio, which will also broadcast to the immediate area outside your car. Imagine driving down the street and having everyone you pass know you listen to NSYNC! One other major part of this feature that we are excited to tell you about is player operated talk-shows which you can personally host, or tune-in and listen to, from your car radio or home. The way we currently have this planned out for hosts, is to have actual physical broadcast stations on the map that you can enter as a player and begin hosting your own radio talk-show. Player’s listening from their car or home can browse a list of channels currently being hosted at that very moment, and listen to you live, talking about government conspiracies and UFO’s! We are really hoping that this feature will have a major social impact for Identity. Like you, we see a lot of potential in something like this for budding stars within the community. We would absolutely love to see many of you sprout a career that started in a game we developed, and ended with us listening to your lovely voice on our actual car radio! The Town Square (Social Module) Many of you already know of, and are eagerly anticipating the release of the planned “Town Square” module that is currently still in production. While we can’t give you an exact date on when that will be ready, progress is steady, and we are as excited as you are to meet you all for the first time in a virtual environment. You may already be aware that Identity is largely influenced by a landmass in the south-eastern portion of the United States. The Town Square itself is only a small portion of a larger city built into the final version of Identity called Ash Hill, a reference to Asheville, North Carolina where we had originally planned to move Asylum’s office. We picked this area of the world particularly because it offered a wide range of geographical variance. The transition between Identity’s mix of biomes needed to feel natural, and this area offered most of what we had been looking for. As for the other cities in Identity, their influences may become more clear to you now. Myrtle Beach is obviously Turtle Beach in Identity, and Roseport is less subtle, but a mix between Atlanta and New York City. When we first started, we kept everything, including the structures and world props level to the ground, a mistake we have since corrected. We quickly realized that cities are rarely ever flat, and knew that setting that precedent now would benefit Identity in the future. The next time you see The Town Square module, we are confident that you will notice the difference compared to earlier screenshots, what such a small transformation makes for immersion in a game environment. Moving Forward We want to thank our community for being so patient with us. Over the course of the past year, we’ve seen many work-in-progress screenshots of assets destined for Identity, and while we believe they serve as a sample of the work we have already put into the game, we know that many of you are still anxious to see video. Our current priority is to get things ready to show off, or more specifically, the housing/apartment customization first. We are convinced that many of you will appreciate the time and effort we have put into this feature, so that you will be able to fully express yourself through your character and virtual home. We know we’ve been pretty quiet this past year, and the criticism we’ve heard from our fans on that through social media and the forums have not fallen on deaf ears! We will start to release regular updates through development blogs and continue to find new ways to interact with our community, to show you our gratitude for your support. You yourself can become more involved by contributing to the discussion with your ideas at www.identityrpg.com/community. We’ll see you there, and thank you again! Always remember that we are gamers too and we are as excited as you are to play Identity at launch!

Mine is Lucas, but I took Nikolai because I really like this one. Especially because it was the middle name of my deceased best friend. (best introduction ever ♥). I recently heard about Identity and I felt like I HAD to invest myself in this growing community, in wich i'd like to contribute and help actively. Also, i'll be 18 years old in almost 1 month and i'm french, but I guess that my english skills are good enough for you to understand me. Hopefully. Please tell me it is the case. Or i'd be sad. And you don't want me to be sad. Unless you're sadistic. Wich would be weird. But I'd still like you. Not that I prefer sadistic people but, you know, i'm quite weird. Or am I not ? Gosh, too much talking. Sorry for your little eyes. D: See you soon in the other sections, you'll often see me ! Unless someone engaged a serial killer to erase me. If it happens, i'll bequeath all my money to you all. I hope you can divide 0.

Heyy i cant remember if you guys said you were having skill trees. one thing i thought of, is a dancing skill tree where you could go to a dance class or something to learn more moves and within that you could have a dance mini game with a button sequence of clicking the right combinations at the right time. then maybe once you got a few dance moves you could go out on the street and use them moves, and maybe even have dance battles or something.

Rather not see it, because that segregates the community to those who cant join in conversations.. English is more widely used and so its more common.

Just decided to pledge $30 to Identity. I play on Asylum Altis Life all the time and this excited me. My hope though for the game is that is doesn't follow to closely in the footsteps of the Altis Life servers. Go for more realism. Also make it so that actions, such as RDM, not able to happen. I'd hate for it to be something with people just shooting up town square because it's "fun". There are enough games and role play servers that are like that. It seems everyone just wants rob or shoot people in roleplay games which isn't the point. A small amount of players should be able to rob and no one should be able to just engage in armed warfare with innocent, unarmed people. Geez, I kinda went on a little rant there. Just script it so it isn't possible, please. Just going back to realism, you don't just walk around in public all day with the fear of being robbed/murdered do you? People don't run up to you every time you enter town and say "hands up or die." Well, that's all from me. Glad to be here

*Rolls out of bed, turns on radio, as I shower, after showering heads to Madbook, laptop, checking messages, none, begins writing a sci fi adventure story, fingers clack on keyboard, pausing often, as I think about ho the story would go, it takes me about an hour gets about a page of text as I took my time, saves file, then begins drawing the story out, basically making a comicbook, takes me about 2 hours, for the art, maybe longer, I wasn't paying attention, again taking my time as I draw, I finally pull back from the various pieces of arts, more than ready for a break, stomach slightly rumbling, as I hadn't eaten yet, opens refrigerator*

"At least I can show some class with mine" *Kevin feels Hank grab his shoulder* "Whoa man, chill out. I think I am still to fucked up from last night to be driving. And this gentleman over here with the cheap lighter drives a Subaru, sorry to break it to you but I think you have the wrong people, so you can put the taser down" *Kevin proceeds to flip open his zippo and lights his cigarette*

*With a half lit fag in his mouth, Jonathan presses the button on his keys activating the locks on his Subaru while it beeps and the blinkers goes off for a second* He mutters "Not me mate" Before giving off a small smile. ((This is after Dekan's post below))

"I think you would hit me if you knew just how much that thing cost me, but the car is a hundred percent legit, hell even some of the engine parts are original." *Kevin finishes his coffee* "I can damn near guarantee that you will hear it coming down the road a block before I actually show up"

*Jonathan lets out a small laugh* "You?...Give up drinking?" *He begins to mimic Kevin* "Oh im gonna give up drinking...oh look a morning beer" He says gesturing his hand as if he was taking a beer out of the fridge before looking back at Kevin and smiling. *Jonathan gets up from his seat and orders another coffee and hands the barrister the money before sitting back down* "So.. 64 Impala? Must of cost quite a bit for all the goodies" Jonathan asks, taking a sip from his coffee.

"At this point I wouldnt be surprised if I didnt break a few laws last night, I cant remember shit all" Kevin says staring down at the bagel on his plate. "Man, you know I'm going to be there, I finally finished my '64 Impala, hydraulics, underglow, sound system, the works. I know I say this everytime, but I am going to take a break from drinking though, thank god for morning beers though eh?" *Kevin takes a bite of his bagel and drinks some coffee, before putting his sunglasses back on* "It's fucking bright in here this morning"
  28. 1 point
*Jonathan continues to drink from his coffee, eyeing up the office outside* *He leans over to Kevin* "Oi look, the fuzz" He says reverting his eyes to the officer "What did you do this time?" He says letting out a small chuckle before drinking the last of his coffee.

It would be cool if say you could go onto a map via your in-game phone, tablet or PC for that matter and arrange a meeting with someone at a certain time at a certain place, this would give the other player(s) a text message or Email in game whether to accept or deny this or an alternate to this is to reply via a text or Add new location and time. Just a fun little idea of mine, if it has already been posted please remove this

I plan on living a simple crime free life in Identity as much as I can. I'll look into business, investment and politics and would look at developing a working relationship with players, like @Dizzle
