5 pointsDEV BLOG #001 Greetings Citizens, It has been just over a year since you helped successfully kick start Identity into existence! We want to thank you all for your continued support by providing you all with regular updates following the development process for Identity. Engaging with our community is one of the best ways we can show our thanks, and a development blog is a perfect opportunity for us to bring you along for the ride. As you’ve seen throughout the past year, there is no game out there that is quite like Identity, and through your support, you have proven to us that Identity is a vision worth turning into a reality! Feedback has shown us that you all really appreciate our attempts to respond to virtually every question we receive on social media. Twitter and Facebook have been a huge boost in exposure for Identity, and so it is time we begin to explore other avenues of exposure to help our community understand a bit more about the game. In the coming months, our fans will see their first glimpse of gameplay for Identity! We are all extremely excited to show off our first gameplay video, which will fully explore the mechanics of apartment and housing customization. With this video, you will see that we have stayed true to our original art direction from the original Kickstarter trailer, while maintaining high standards in realistic lighting and graphics. We can safely say that we have improved many of the areas of our design that needed attention since February last year. Apartment & Housing Customization Apartments and houses within Identity will have a fully customizable interior. You will be able to change the wall paper on every wall in every room, place furniture anywhere there is space on the ground, swap out doors, windows, baseboards, crown moulding, and even wainscoting! We have made no compromise to the level of detail in which you can customize your apartments or homes, in order to truly express your sense of home decor. With this level of control, there is virtually no chance that the interior of two homes will ever look alike. There will be hundreds of furniture items available to purchase in-game in every style and design, from traditional to contemporary. Furniture in Identity can even be crafted, sold, or traded to other players, and those who wish to try their hand at crafting hand-made furniture from a variety of materials can place a crafting table anywhere they wish inside their homes! And if you wish to share your space with a partner, friend, or even a group of friends, homes and apartments will be available for sale throughout the world that support multiple roommates depending the size of the space and how many bedrooms are available. The home-owner may even grant build permissions to any number of roommates, even visitors, to help them decorate their living space. When you are finished, invite your friends over to compliment you on your interior decorating skills! If you’re anything like us, we know you will spend more time cleaning up this virtual home than you do your real one! Radio This week, our team has also placed a lot of our development efforts into building a functioning radio system that will allow you to listen to your favorite real-world radio stations through placed radio objects inside your virtual home, or car! Yes, you can flip through the channels in your car radio, which will also broadcast to the immediate area outside your car. Imagine driving down the street and having everyone you pass know you listen to NSYNC! One other major part of this feature that we are excited to tell you about is player operated talk-shows which you can personally host, or tune-in and listen to, from your car radio or home. The way we currently have this planned out for hosts, is to have actual physical broadcast stations on the map that you can enter as a player and begin hosting your own radio talk-show. Player’s listening from their car or home can browse a list of channels currently being hosted at that very moment, and listen to you live, talking about government conspiracies and UFO’s! We are really hoping that this feature will have a major social impact for Identity. Like you, we see a lot of potential in something like this for budding stars within the community. We would absolutely love to see many of you sprout a career that started in a game we developed, and ended with us listening to your lovely voice on our actual car radio! The Town Square (Social Module) Many of you already know of, and are eagerly anticipating the release of the planned “Town Square” module that is currently still in production. While we can’t give you an exact date on when that will be ready, progress is steady, and we are as excited as you are to meet you all for the first time in a virtual environment. You may already be aware that Identity is largely influenced by a landmass in the south-eastern portion of the United States. The Town Square itself is only a small portion of a larger city built into the final version of Identity called Ash Hill, a reference to Asheville, North Carolina where we had originally planned to move Asylum’s office. We picked this area of the world particularly because it offered a wide range of geographical variance. The transition between Identity’s mix of biomes needed to feel natural, and this area offered most of what we had been looking for. As for the other cities in Identity, their influences may become more clear to you now. Myrtle Beach is obviously Turtle Beach in Identity, and Roseport is less subtle, but a mix between Atlanta and New York City. When we first started, we kept everything, including the structures and world props level to the ground, a mistake we have since corrected. We quickly realized that cities are rarely ever flat, and knew that setting that precedent now would benefit Identity in the future. The next time you see The Town Square module, we are confident that you will notice the difference compared to earlier screenshots, what such a small transformation makes for immersion in a game environment. Moving Forward We want to thank our community for being so patient with us. Over the course of the past year, we’ve seen many work-in-progress screenshots of assets destined for Identity, and while we believe they serve as a sample of the work we have already put into the game, we know that many of you are still anxious to see video. Our current priority is to get things ready to show off, or more specifically, the housing/apartment customization first. We are convinced that many of you will appreciate the time and effort we have put into this feature, so that you will be able to fully express yourself through your character and virtual home. We know we’ve been pretty quiet this past year, and the criticism we’ve heard from our fans on that through social media and the forums have not fallen on deaf ears! We will start to release regular updates through development blogs and continue to find new ways to interact with our community, to show you our gratitude for your support. You yourself can become more involved by contributing to the discussion with your ideas at www.identityrpg.com/community. We’ll see you there, and thank you again! Always remember that we are gamers too and we are as excited as you are to play Identity at launch!

3 pointsHello community. So I would like to see a feature much like there was in ArmA where you can control you vehicle speed. For example in ArmA, you were able to hold Q and it would limit your speed. I want this as I don't want myself or others having to tap W or sit there holding W and driving around. I would like there to be a seperate button to limit the vehicles speed.
-
2 pointsOr you could simply go to your house/apartment and log out or just sit in your bed.
-
2 pointsSupposedly guns are going to be fairly hard to come by, but there will be knives, bats, etc., so it's only really "power" in the sense of "armed guy vs (presumably) unarmed guy" up until the police arrive.
-
2 pointsWell, as I mentioned in my post, I will most likely get a server and have it semi serious/ maybe serious but I will decide whether or not I put a test on jjoin to remove rule breakers, I already have a community but its sadly slowly dying and I think I will use identity to revive it if possible. I have a teamspeak server, did have a forum and have a steam group. Edit: My server will be a "Serious RP" server instead of "Semi-Serious"

1 pointObviously, police work (and Identity by and large,) takes all kinds. So I'm curious--who here's coming from another mod/community where they did law enforcement? What were your experiences? Personally, I'm coming from Arma 3's A3L--I was a patrol cop there for a very long time, but I ultimately went my own way due to some differences of opinion with the department leadership and the direction the force was going. Even still, I spent hundreds of hours on patrol there, and I basically did it all--high speed pursuits, bank robberies, backing up SWAT as they executed search warrants, you name it. It taught me a lot about police work and I learned a lot about people. Hopefully, when Identity gets going, I'll be able to take that experience to the streets.

1 pointHe is talking about a way to keep a vehicle speed constant. You're talking about measuring someone's speed, which would be cool as fudge!
-
1 pointThey are trying to make the criminal aspects of the game first because iTS a cops and robbers game at heart its basecly a real life simulator so iT Will let you do most things that you can do in real life to pas to the jobs I dont really know they havent really sad anything About that there making most buildings enterable but not all can be cus iT Will eat up youre pc like your hous you have to invité Some one in iT so people who are driving by dont have to load your hous there Will be allot off interactions with players and objects there Will be sports I dont know witch ones wil there wil also be gyms to train your muscels and there wil be snowy secluded mountains all youre buisneses I dont know cus they havent sad much About careers there will be a collage for fun cus f learning!! there will be online buisneses there will be an gps not a map because that is les realistic there Will be ais to help the game getting started there all video games in game and you can even stream them flying wont be ingame because you have allot of interactions on the ground and dont want the map to feel small so iTS all for the best i hope I helpen you out Some

1 pointWell you're always welcome to come along and enjoy the party
-
1 pointSounds cool! I'm not sure how impressive my car will be by then, but it's worth a shot!
-
1 pointGenerally a car meet up is just a big meeting, everyone bringing there cars and showing them off. Sometimes you end up getting people drag racing others down the street aswell. It's pretty much a massive party with cars ? Don't worry about not knowing anything about cars. Please do still come along, we don't expect you to have exceptional knowledge of cars
-
1 pointWait so what would one do at a modified meetup? Is it like watching cars race? Or just talking about cars? 'Cause I want to go, but I know nothing about them o.e
-
1 pointHey guys, I'm Vash and I come from Portugal. I joined Asylum Life on January of 2015. I love Altis Life, and I got super hyped once I knew about the release of Identity! I was hoping to see some familiar faces from Asylum's forums, but it looks like we have tons of new people here, which is great

1 pointI'm probably gonna just trap in a public server and that will be all I do in the game lmao. Btw I'm 15

1 pointAlthough I have never experienced FIBUA against live enemy, all FIBUA drills that I have engaged in have been some of the quickest and most dynamic manoeuvres that the military operate, the reason being; as soon as the enemy know you are in a building - you are in danger. Not having a go at you... I'd just be interested to see how this could be done slowly and still be safe?
-
1 pointBeen playing Asylum Life for over a year. Really excited for Identity to release
-
1 pointRDM will not exist in Identity. But the devs will have a way to discourage it. Now, community servers are allowed to set rules such as RDM.
-
1 pointI personally would love a hardcore/medium rp. I want be delivering stuff in a truck. I wanna be able to talk to the shipper and recipient of the goods You're not the only 15 year old here....
-
1 pointI have a big background in military simulation and also ArmA RP (Mid 2012 to present). Have trained many people with core SWAT skills. Some of this is still seen in many ArmA 3 RP communities & gangs. I proud myself on the knowledge I have gained and transferred from and to other people. This ranges from simple communications to how to properly breach and clear rooms (In the movie / spec ops way of everyone rushes in to the military way where thinks are taken a bit slower and safer for that matter).
-
1 pointI will most likely just stick to the EU server and possibly the US one. Every time i get a server for a game no one seems to join so i dont see a point in getting one. Save me some dosh
-
1 pointHow about things such as bomb squad robots and camera drones for news agencies and the police? Since there won't be helicopters this would be a good alternative, so it is actually relevant.
-
1 point1. 2. 3. Most likely no. Maybe they'll make a Workshop since the game will be on Steam and players can post things they created there that'd get upvoted and added into game later, but letting players create items in the game and use them just won't work. It'd be a mess. 4. 5. It's not confirmed yet if you can put fish in aquariums or just buy them, but all fish you can buy in stores will be fish fished out by actual players. 6. There will be collectibles, not sure in what form. Haven't seen anything about museums on twitter. 7 and 8. 9. 10. Uh... Identity is an ISLAND... It's pretty much surrounded by beaches. There is even an entire tropical-themed city. *the moment when it hits you they don't use Search* 11. 12. It's a modern game, not medieval. There are no castles, or dragons for that matter. 13. 14. I ALREADY SAID THERE ARE BEACHES WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?! ;-; 15. 16. I just... I can't... I can't even... x_x 17 and 18. No horses. Pets will be either not at launch or very limited, they'll get more complex later. 19 and 20. Again 21. STOP! D: 22. 23. 24. 25. No one asked about this, so CONGRATULATIONS! +1 for you! 26. They can't shoot horses because THERE ARE NO HORSES! And nature trails are an obvious thing so *skip* 27. 28. 29. 30. 31. 32. You can't set up a store where there isn't a store. You can't set up furniture etc outside of your house, so not happening mate. 33. Then everyone would eat healthy foods. Not happening. 34. 35. There will be music in the stores, unless the owner decides against it most likely. I did it. I answered it all. I'm done!

1 pointWouldn't it be cool to able to pass by a city basketball court and play a 1 on 1 or maybe host a slam dunk contest ,freestyle and tournaments on urban basketball courts, what about visiting a Gym and learning how to box and go on a boxing career as an athlete or just go backyard street fighting for money what do you think about going to the beach and find a cool surfing competition while you enjoy a great beach party.? or how about heading to the snow mountains and renting or buying yourself a snowboard with all the equipments and just having fun with friends going up and down the mountain or chilling at the top drinking some hot coco while you watch the snowboard freestyle competition LIVE! what do you think about walking around the city and finding some cool people doing tricks in a skate park doing crazy flips on their skateboard, bikes, roller blades and been able to tune them. i'm going more extreme now after looking at the leaked map, what about being able to buy a motocross or atv and fulfill your extreme sports career like doing offroad races , becoming the king of the mountain, going extremely fast thro the forest... just some good ideas for the developers.!

1 pointI like the thought that a EMT will do a little more than just randomly stab people to life. I would also be happy if they had some more deepth, i mean epinephrine isnt the cure for everything. I also dont mean that we/they should have a pharmachy of diffrent drugs to choose from.
-
1 point1. Add a nice hill, overlooking the city, and have it a windey road so we can drift our cars down it at night 2. Gym system where the more you work out (over quite a while) you get bigger like in GTA san Andrea’s 3. If its possible, id like to surf the waves at the beach with a surfboard 4. Can we make sandcastles at the beach then destroy them, as a minigame. 5. Would be cool if there was an amusement park and you could go on the rides, like the ferris wheel and the rollercoasters. 6. Addictions and buffs to having drugs, so there is a point to sell them to other players. 7. If its possible, to leave dead bodies, laying there until they are cleaned up by a councilman or something. (would be good for detective rp) 8. Skateboarding and Bmx riding so we can go to the skatepark. 9. Proper fighting. 10. Parkour? or at least be able to do flips and stuff off boats and jetties into water or just off objects around the city. 11. Tattoo parlors with a tattoo minigame (it puts the stencil and you move your mouse to tattoo it) 12. Shoot from vehicles (drive-bys) etc. 13. Some fun features for women models (if they go for a jog, their boobs bounce) 14. Tent/camping is the cheapest way to live in regards to shelter 15. Perhaps a better way of getting a guy who is resisting/evading police on foot, if you could possibly chase, then tackle and restrain or -something? 16. Underwater creatures such as whales, dolphins (that go in heards), Sharks that can eat you, fish, etc. 17. Spray paint so citizens or gang members can tag certain areas with their gang tag (minigame) 18. You can take your clothes off and go streaking if you wish (but can get arrested for indecent exposure if a cop see's you) 19. You can buy food from grocery store and put it into your cupboard or fridge 20. Buy furniture, put it into your Ute or have it delivered to your house in a truck and you can pick it up and put it into your house where you want it 21. Drug and alcohol effects (not just vision but like how your body acts, if you’re drunk you stumble etc.) 22. If one officer escorts a man, the officer walks behind the player, the player can choose to fight the escort or comply (like click on a button which makes it hard for the officer to escort), whilst escorting, if another officer escorts, they stand side-by-side with the player, to reduce 'tension', thus making it easier to escort. 23. Be able to purchase oil drums, storage crates, etc. And make it so you can store guns or drugs, in them. 24. Buy a GPS for your car in order to know where to go (if there’s no map) but it would be more realistic and challenging if only GPS, could also buy a map not just have it defaulted. 25. Animations - dancing without a weapon, pushups/sit-ups, stretches, hand signals and heaps of other cool animations to play around with, etc. Some exercises help build muscle if you eat right.
-
1 pointSOURCES: 1. There are mountains and a mountain city- Ash Hill. 2. There will be a gym and possibly body changing due to working out or diet. 3. You get a point, nothing about this! 4. Point! 5. There's carnival in plans! 6. Drugs will have a variety of effects and you can get addicted! 7. Corpses will disappear after a a while. 8. There might or might not be skateboarding implemented. 9. There'll be boxing and friendly sparrings! 10. You'll be able to do some parkour-ish stuff, but it won't be OP! 11. Tattoos at launch will be preset, but I doubt you could be an actual tattoo artist. More likely you'd be able to design tattoos and sell the designs. Tattoo artists wouldn't work out for the simple reason that with preset tattoos you'll be check out each tattoo on your body before buying it, like in GTA V. If there were tatoo artists you wouldn't be able to have "look into the future" option. And the tattoo could get screwed up! 12. Drive-by shootings are on hold. 13. As I said above- SPORT BRAS. No right-in-the-head woman would go around jogging in a regular bra, unless she's running away from a serial killer. Believe me, it hurts AF. 14. There might be tents, but it's unsure yet. 15. There'll be non-lethal weapons and zip ties to subdue your target. 16. Underwater creatures are confirmed! 17. Spray cans and tagging are confirmed aswell! 18. There's no nudity, but you probably can get in trouble for strolling around in underwear I wonder if #FreeTheNipple will conquer the world before game release 19. You'll have to buy food! Otherwise you'll get sick or faint! Or even die! There'll be grocery stores and cafes. And food delivery, like pizza! 20. There'll be delivery trucks, but they'll most likely deliver furniture to stores and malls. I'd think furniture after purchase go to your "House/Apartment" inventory which you can open in your living space to rearrange the interior! 21. Alcohol and drugs will have various effects on your character. You'll most likely have some problems walking straight if you drink too much! 22. That's not really a game mechanic, it's more dependant on the player. Even if 50 police officers would escort a suspect, there's no way of stopping them from trying to run away or fight back! (apart from handcuffs or tazers or zip ties...) 23. There'll be warehouses you can buy and maybe rent. You'll most likely be able to conceal some illegal materials aswell! 24. There is a map and GPS, and other extra car features! 25. A variety of animations will be in the game, to keep it immersive and realistic! Animations will be motion captured[/color[ in order to make them detailed and smooth! Expect various dances, kissing and perhaps even different walking styles! Oh my glob this took a WHILE to put together...

1 pointFREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ) 1. How are Kickstarter backers different from website backers? There is only one difference between backer rewards for the Kickstarter and website. Kickstarter backers will receive a unique in-game hat with the Kickstarter logo. Website backers receive a hat with the Identity logo. No new content in the future will ever display either of these logos. 2. Many people are confused on what the game is about. Would you mind telling us what your vision for the game is? Is the game more about Cops vs Robbers, or a balance between all the available paths? Identity is a cops and robbers game at heart, but it is a life simulator in so many other ways. We’re catering to role-play in a way that is possibly the first of its kind. Players have the freedom to pursue careers that will impact the player economy in their own unique way. Become a taxi driver, deliver goods to player-owned businesses, fight fires, save lives, argue a case in criminal court, or just hold out your hand and beg for money. Find, or steal your ‘identity’! 3. What can you tell us about the world? World size? Player limit? We anticipate that the playable world size will be 200 square kilometers, or 77 square miles in comparison. This means that the whole map is 14 km wide, and would take about an hour and a half to walk across. We hope to support up to 300 players (or more!) per server. 4. Can you expand on the professions? We know there will be cops, but what types of jobs will be available for civilians? Will they be able to create their own businesses? Create their own items? etc. Also, Medics and Firefighters? Players can choose from a wide range of professions, including the ability to become a Firefighter, EMT, Taxi Driver, Farmer, Bounty Hunter, Fisherman, Logger, Miner, Delivery Driver and even a business entrepreneur. The options available to you as a player get more specific than this even, but we aren’t yet ready to expand on the full list. The direction of development is prone to change, and we don’t want to promise anything that might change down the pipeline. Business ownership allows players to own factories and small business, giving them control over what items are manufactured and sold. Items created by a factory must be delivered to their destination city where store owners in that area can decide what quantity and type (formal wear, casual, punk outfits, weapons, etc.) they wish to list in their business. Some default items are always available in all stores for when market demand is not met. 5. How will death be handled? When a player dies, some items such as the money the player is carrying at that time, will be dropped on the ground and will become accessible to anyone in the area that wishes to take it. Clothing items will never be dropped. We have decided that a player’s character appearance in a social game like Identity is important. You will always look the way you decide your character to look. If the player is not resusitated by an EMT or teammate, the player is then prompted to respawn at the location of their last sync (house, apartment, city) Private servers have some control over what types of items players will drop on death, if any at all. 6. Can you expand on how the housing system will work? Size and availability of apartments and houses? Players can choose to own or rent housing in Identity, while apartments can also be shared with a friend or roommate depending on the size of the property. For instance, two friends, or a married couple can choose to purchase a 2 bedroom apartment where they both can live comfortably with each other. Apartments and houses are fully customizable, allowing players to place furniture and objects anywhere in the room. Home-owners can invite other players into their apartment or house at any time. Players cannot access another players home without an invitation. 7. Will there be any specific safe areas where people can go AFK or sit and socialize without being killed or robbed? There are safe zones within certain types of buildings in Identity. Metal detectors serve to preserve immersion, and will temporarily remove any weapons upon entry, allowing all players in the area to safely relax, socialize and meet new friends. These safe zones are known to us as “Sub-Hubs” or social gathering points that reflect on the lifestyle theme of their environment (Biker Bar, Business club, Bum alley, etc.). While many of these areas can only be accessed by law-abiding citizens, some Sub-Hubs are neutral and can be entered by any player on the map. Few areas are designated gathering points for active criminals looking for the right crime of opportunity, or new friends to help them plan their next heist. 8. How will player identification work in game? Will names appear above players heads? If so, at what distances will they be seen? As our design stands right now, the official servers do display names over heads within certain ranges. Some things like masks and balaclavas can affect this. Moreover, private servers have an option where they can hide names from all players unless greeted. By this I mean you won’t see the name over another player until they perform an emote action, after which you’ll always see their name.
