In a situation where a player is running from a criminal chasing them, but has not yet been engaged in combat, as it is now, they still have access to their homes, or safe areas. It isn't easy for us to detect when someone is involved in a combat situation unless they are first injured by a bullet, or are perhaps within close proximity of a criminal player. When bullets are fired within close proximity to you, your player has a heightened level of stress that will continue to increase unless you move away from the area. In environments like cities on official servers where stress factors into how vulnerable you are, that data can be used to determine if you are able to access a safe area. We can add to this system to prevent people from exploiting this mechanic (taunting a player and then running in and out of a safe zone repeatedly to avoid combat) as we gather feedback from future testing! There are a lot of simple little solutions that can be implemented in such cases. While I haven't discussed this with @Paratus yet, it is probable that we will not allow players to take damage from outside of the safe zone after they walk through the metal detector. Safe zones usually are placed within certain key buildings, some of which are even instanced. These safe areas act as social gathering locations where you can safely meet other players and chat, or places where we want players to be able to explore content undisturbed, like the movie theater, or a court room, for example!

Metal detectors have a little deceiving name- they're more like metal removers, meaning that upon entering a safe zone your weapons are unaccessible or just removed from your inventory for the time of your stay. Either way, you can't use them in safe zones. Not sure how shooting from "danger zone" into a safe zone will work (as in you're in a danger zone and you shot someone who's on the edge of the safe zone), but we also don't really know how zones will look like (are they OW, buildings?).

I believe they said that metal detectors would remove guns and weapons from players inventory. Idk where they would put these (spawn and the hospital maybe) but I think there needs to be a lot of balance testing with invincibility zones before we find a system that works.

It may be less than palatable for some to realise, we are becoming a global community. Those who wish to interact with that global community just have to accept that a majority speak one particular language. Arguing which language is spoken more in a particular region is not really productive. If we went by sheer numbers of world population then the internet would all be in Chinese Mandarin. If you only speak a minority language (in terms of the internet and online gaming as a whole) you have to accept, there will be less opportunity for you. While I'm sure Russians are very proud of their nationality and native tongue and rightly so, the simple truth is, the majority of online gaming is in English and will likely remain so. I don't agree with excluding anyone, encouraging other gamers to join in with the majority will help everyone in the end. Yes it's true Northern and Eastern Europeans often have the ability to speak German, but even more speak English, as well as German. I know a guy in Norway, he speaks Bulgarian, German, Dutch, French and English. When he streams on Twitch.. guess which language he uses? The majority of internet traffic is in English, the vast majority of games are produced in English speaking countries. The majority of European countries have English speaking TV channels (for entertainment rather than just news), the UK and USA generally do not (Unless you get them by subscription). Most of the successful Films and TV is produced in English speaking countries. The most popular music is overwhelmingly produced in English speaking countries. Abba, a Swedish group would have been unknown outside of central Europe if they had stuck to their native tongue. So it's just a fact, if you wish to engage globally, chances are you will have to learn to speak in English, and you will have much more popular media to immerse yourself in the language than we poorly served English speaking countries get. Look at HitBox, a streaming media company based in Germany, the majority of people by far who stream through HitBox stream in English. This move has been made successfully in other disciplines. All air traffic controllers have to speak English. Those involved in World finance and higher tier business conduct their business in English (or American). It's just a reality, no intent to denigrate anyone. Here's something interesting. I speak a little German, Dutch, Spanish and French. When I visit those countries I don't get to practise as much as I would like.. Why? Because as soon as they hear my accent the majority figure out their English is far better than my feeble attempt at their language. Shameful I know, but it's just the reality of life.

I am sure they stated somewhere that the safe zones dont make you invincible but more as like they protect you. so for instance, if I were to shoot you while your in the safe zone, my vulnerability points (something like that) would decrease a lot faster ithan yours which means I could die by you before i would kill you. This would allow you enough time to run from me or will make me run because you would be able to kill me before i kill you even though I shot you first. Just to be sure @Vix can confirm this for me.

I think that's fine actually. If someone in real life is chasing you with a knife and run into your house and lock your door and windows, they most likely won't be able to get in. Honestly if I were in that situation I wouldn't log out I'd just call the cops.

Brothers and sisters do my eyes deceive me? Is it true? Is this some cruel trick played on me by the heaven, or is it truly a miracle granted to our unworthy souls? The town square module has been updated to 64%! Truly a GLORIOUS day for all to remember.

All the time identityRPG's twitter feed gets questions like "When will the game release, when does beta come out?" as if it wasn't asked the other 5 times that same week. People will ask what are the specs either on forums or on twitter, it's ridiculous. But I'm not here to rant, but it should be simple. At least look around to see if someone already asked that same question and if someone answered.
